Here we are finally after an entire year of no full series of doctor who including Class and the Christmas special The Return Of Doctor Mysterio, series 10 has finally dropped today with its first episode called The Pilot.

WARNING !!!! THERE WILL BE SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE EPISODE TURN AWAY NOW IF YOU HAVE THEN CONTINUE ON BUT I WARN YOU IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE.

First the good

Right so where do I begin, well let's start with our new star in our eyes Bill Potts played by Pearl Mackie.

When I jumped into this episode the main actor I wanted to see in her performance was Pearl Mackie the doctor's newest companion for series 10 and because of that I have this to say:

I LOVED HER IN THIS EPISODE !!!!!!!!!!

I felt that her portrayal as Bill Potts was indeed fantastic as well as something I think we were all missing as soon as series 5 (my favourite series) aired, a real normal person.

Amy Pond met the 11th doctor as a kid and loved him even as an adult and Clara was "perfect" if you know what I mean too much perfect, so it came as a surprise to me to see how human she felt and how human she was.

Her personality is definitely that of Donna Noble always asking questions and questioning the doctor on his morals like how she did in The Fires Of Pompeii.

There are so many scenes in this episode that I like with her like her meeting Heather for the first time, her reaction to finding pictures of her mom, or near the end when she is about to forget everything and is able to convince the doctor to let her keep her memories, or even her first reaction to being in the TARDIS and being on the other side of the planet.

And there was a part in this I won't say but I did feel very sad for her when it happens.

Also Yes they did confirm this I'm not making this up when I say she's a lesbian !!!!!!!

And I could totally tell that she is lesbian just by how she talked about serving chips to a woman and when she looks at her or even when she first meets Heather for the first time and her relationship with her as her "friend" so yes I enjoyed Bill very much in her first episode and am fully open to see her as the doctor's newest companion, and speaking about the doctor.

Doctor what doctor who whatever you call him he is the doctor and I very much enjoy Peter Capaldi as the doctor and still feel a bit sad that he is leaving but today god damn it Capaldi you've done it again.

Peter Capaldi succeeds again in playing the 12th doctor as seeing him working in a university is very interesting especially his lecture about time I also like that he doesn't act like the doctor until Bill enters the TARDIS I mean we know he's the doctor but it's cool how it's almost like a mystery for bill until when the monster is revealed, and the first time they enter the TARDIS is shot so cool and so different hiding the entire console room until the lights come on.

And the reason why he let Bill keep her memories and come with him oh is it sad when you see the emotion he puts into his act and the music that plays of a familiar companion, oh such a sad reminder. But I already like Peter Capaldi anyways especially because he's a regular but not for long, however Bill isn't the only one in the TARDIS this time so let's look at Nardole.

in the 2015 Christmas special The Husbands Of River Song Matt Lucas guest starred as the very scared and nervous Nardole where he lost his head to king Hydroflax's body, and yet he appeared again in the 2016 Christmas special The Return Of Doctor Mysterio with his head back on his body thanks to River Song and now he is a regular companion for series 10.

I didn't just like him in those specials as well as Little Britain but I think I loved him more in this episode because of his interactions with the doctor and bill, he is such a joy to watch as a comic relief character in this but also the fact that he is starting to bond and understand the doctor before bill comes into the team like how he says"That's the Doctor for you. Never notices the tears."

Its also great because now we have two companions in the TARDIS like Amy and Rory and Rose and Mickey and even in the classic era, I cannot wait to see more of him in more episodes and his new friendship with the doctor and bill.

Now the bad

First time watching this I thought I had no problems with this episode, until I remembered these faults.

Damn you Steven Moffat damn damn damn you!!!!!!

Why moffat why were the daleks in this episode they were completely pointless and useless why were they here ?!?!

When you see the daleks in the trailer you either say :

• Oh my god the daleks are back yes this could be the best episode ever!!!!

Or

• Oh god damn it they are back again when will you give them a break the recent episodes with them suck !!!!!!!!

Seriously though they appear nearing the end of the episode it's too late for them to be a threat and they are disposed of easily and are never seen again, it's like Steven Moffat put them in there because he needed a episode with the daleks in there to be complete but the real reason is so that the monster can take on its form in the episode and that's it!!!!!!

Daleks have so much more potential to be a threat and they still aren't scary, moffat if you really want the daleks in this series don't put them in this episode and when there's a bad episode I will tell you that should of been the dalek episode.

Wow moffat you had to screw over two monsters not just one but another race of aliens or should I say robots.

The Movellans, really this episode should have them come back this episode !!!!!!

They are a very classic group of monsters used in one episode Destiny Of The Daleks a 4th doctor story, now they appear in The Pilot for a quick cameo like the daleks and are never seen again, this is my reaction to this.

Yeah exactly, just like the daleks so much potential flushed down the drain they didn't have to be in this they could be in a different episode but no this is Steven Moffat the guy who ruined series 9 with Hell Bent and I hate hell bent.

And now for the nerdy

There is so much call backs in the episode that pictures cant do it, so here's a list of what I picked up from The Pilot.

• The Pilot is actually said in the episode and means something

•Star in her eye is a call back to the rumoured title and the fact that one of Heather's eyes has a pupil in the form of a star

• Past sonic screwdrivers of the doctor can be seen in the episode

• The doctor keeps two pictures of River Song and Susan Foreman

• A good man plays when the doctor runs out of the university

• The Heather Monster is formed from water much similar to the flood

• Bill calls the doctor "Doctor What" very similar to doctor who

• Clara (Clara's theme) plays near the end

•"Its bigger on the inside than the outside"

• The doctor calls his lecture in a nutshell Time And Relative Dimension In Space (TARDIS)

• The doctor attempts to mind wipe Bill just like he did to Donna in Journeys End

The Pilot is a great episode to start of this series as well as introducing us to the new companion for series 10, the episode is very different and yet very creative and fun at the same time.

I missed out Bill's mom because I feel like we will see her and the university again in future episodes which all look very great, also don't switch off your Tv after the next time trailer there is another trailer that shows off the rest of the episodes and some things in there I will not spoil today.

Despite the parts in it I don't like. The Pilot gets an 8/10.
