Young Blood (Part 2)
Author's Note: Yes, yes, I know the time lines aren't *truly* even, what with the movies made in different years, but it was the only way I could figure out how to incorporate everything I needed. I mean, no one has complained to me yet (Plz don't) but I felt the need to clear up the inaccuracies :P And please please please leave comments. Feedback gives me life. :) Party on dudes! \m/
Ted opted out of telling Bill about the poster, but decided that The Doctor should know about this timeline. As Ted went back to the TARDIS, he arrived just in time to see The Doctor jab Bill in the neck with something. Immediately he wanted to knock it out of the Timelord's hands, but then he noticed a machine.
"What's that, dude?"
"Tracking device. I needed a bit of Bill's DNA and it'll show me where he is. It goes ding when there's stuff!"
Bill and Ted both nodded in understanding. Ted absently rubbed the back of his fuzzy head; something he found himself doing when there was a lot on his mind.
Bill seemed to notice Ted's usual action he took when he wanted to say something.
"Dude, you okay?"
Ted looked up quickly, "Uhh, yeah dude, I just gotta talk to The Doctor about something,"
Ted went to The Doctor alone and pulled him to the side.
"Dude, I know what you mean about this place being dangerous...," Ted gulped, "I saw a missing poster with Bill's face on it! And these guys in the comic store told me that he must have been captured by vampires!"
The Doctor raised an eyebrow.
"I wouldn't have believed it either, dude, but with time travel...," Ted continued.
"I believe you," The Doctor stated, cutting him off, "I know vampires exist. Dealt with them before, actually. Different circumstances, different vampires...but still...,"
Ted nodded slowly and looked over at Bill, leaning against the console without a care in the world, casually eating his popcorn, throwing it into the air and maneuvering under it, blond hair flopping as he did.
It was truly heartbreaking to picture Bill being grabbed, probably bound and gagged, beaten, bruised, bloody, pinned down and begging for help while a vampire drank him dry.
If only Ted had been there. He'd only been to Military School for a little while, but he knew a few good kicks he could've used to get the vampires off his friend.
And then the image of Bill's neck being bitten and bloody as the light drained from his best friend's eyes was permanently etched into Ted's mind no matter how hard he rubbed his face to clear the idea.
He ran over to Bill and put his arm around him. It made him feel better knowing that Bill, real Bill, was alive right here. Bill looked up at Ted at the sudden touch and leaned into it, smiling comfortingly at his friend and fellow Stallyn. Poor kid had no clue.
Ding!
Ding. That means stuff. Bill and Ted looked over at The Doctor, who held up his tracker.
"Ding means there's stuff! We've got a lead on Bill! He's headed down the boardwalk now!"
Bill shoved a handful of popcorn in his mouth and jumped off the console.
"Excellent!" He and Ted broke into an air guitar riff, "Let's go get me, dude!"
Ted was scared. He'd never say it out loud, but he was. But Bill wasn't afraid. And so he was going to be brave. He followed Bill out of the time machine and onto the Boardwalk, following the dinging of the tracker.
Suddenly, the tracker absolutely lit up as a group of people in walked by the men. Ted saw a young man with long, curly hair and a colorful jacket who looked back at them briefly when the device beeped.
Getting a slight glance of a profile from the blond, Ted's stomach sank and his heart sped up. Bill.
Ted nudged The Doctor and pointed subtly at the group. The Doctor nodded.
"Let me go get Bill," Ted whispered to The Doctor, "He knows me."
The Doctor looked at him worriedly, then nodded gently and handed him the tracker.
Ted quietly slipped through the crowd, shouldering past irritated girls and broad-shouldered men who shot him glares when he pushed past. Ted didn't care.
He trailed them past shops and carnival-type rides towards the edge of the Boardwalk. His hand reached out to touch "Bill" on the shoulder, when suddenly, "Bill" flipped around, seized Ted's arm, and slammed him into a wall.
"Why are you following us?" He hissed. As Ted craned his neck to look at his friend, all he saw was yellow eyes and sharp fangs.
"Bill, dude, it's m-me..., uhhg, dude... you're...you're hurting my- my arm,"
"Bill? Who's Bill?" Laughed the vampire cruelly, twisting Ted's arm behind his back. Ted bit back a scream of pain.
"Name's Marko. Now tell me why you're following us." 'Marko's' fangs came out and grazed Ted's neck, searching out the pulse.
Bill's scream broke the moment as suddenly he was grabbed and pinned down as well.
"Fresh meat!" Yelled one of the vampires with long, sandy hair, holding Bill by the back of the neck.
Then finally, The Doctor was thrown forward and pushed against the side of a building by a tall, dark, mysterious vampire with black hair and no shirt on. The Doctor stammered his way through it.
"Now listen, we don't mean trouble, all I'm saying is-- hey, watch where you--OW! Now we can solve this without violence--stop!-- I'm not even fighti-iiiinggg, oww that hurts!"
Marko smiled evilly and licked his lips before turning his attention to Ted again.
"Y-You don't recognize me, dude?" Ted asked wearily.
"Should I?" Marko growled, finding the pulse on Ted's neck and preparing for his next meal.
Is this what Bill went through? Which one of these vampires held him down and drank the blood from his neck?
"Marko...," a soft but commanding voice rang out, demanding the attention of everyone in the group. There was another vampire in front of Bill with silvery-blond hair who was gripping Bill's face with a gloved index finger and thumb. Bill was struggling to keep his face turned away, but the sandy haired vampire with the long hair was keeping him pinned.
Marko looked irritated at not getting to eat, but he backed off of Ted and looked back. "Yeah, David?"
David turned Bill's face toward Marko, and for a moment they stared at each other with a startling sort of discovery. Marko still held Ted by the throat, but moved closer. Bill's and Marko's blue-green eyes met in a shock of recognition. Marko dropped Ted, who quickly massaged his throat.
"Dwayne, let go of the other dude," Marko commanded, and Dwayne -the dark haired one- slowly took his hands from The Doctor's neck.
"Dude," almost stood as a sign that Marko was remebering....
Marko swiftly grabbed The Doctor, so that the three men were lined up. Fangs out, Marko and David had zero tolerance for any tricks.
A clawed finger pointed at Bill, and David spoke.
"Now. You and you alone, tell me this. Who are you? Why were you following us? How are you and Marko the same?"
