Vampires?
"How are you and Marko the same?"
Bill's mouth went dry at being adressed. There was a vampire with long sandy hair pressing him face first into a wall. An actual vampire! He had felt fangs at his pulse and the bricks of a building digging into the skin on his face. The vampire was holding him tight, and something told him that pointing at an imaginary 'Goodyear blimp' wasn't going to distract them.
Then on top of that, this 'Marko' character...was him! The realization dawned on the young Preston boy like the morning sun, and trying to wrap his head around it hurt like mad. He was a vampire?! A bloodsucking vampire?! And he thought time travel was hard to believe.... Vampires?!
And David was tired of waiting.
"Tell me!" He hissed, moving in close to Bill.
Bill opened and closed his mouth a few times.
"I can explain," The Doctor said, trying to step forward. Dwayne was on him in an instant, and The Doctor stepped back immediately.
"Did he ask you?" snarled the one holding Bill.
"Paul," Marko said in a quiet voice. It was just to get his attention. Paul took his hands off Bill and Marko replaced them. He took the front of Bill's half-shirt and pulled him forward. The shirt almost came off, but that was the least of Bill's worries.
"There's a... split... in my timeline... apparently... um... the year Ted went off to Military School, the future split off and... yeah,"
Bill couldn't do this. He could talk himself out of a straight jacket if he tried hard enough, but he couldn't do this! Not face off in front of several vampires and explain alternate timelines with his friends' lives in danger.
Suddenly there was a whizzing noise coming from The Doctor and all the vampires turned on him. Dwayne's fangs came out and he was about to bite the Timelord's neck when suddenly,
"DUDE, NO!"
Marko's eyes flashed back to the blue-green of Bill, real Bill, and he pushed Dwayne and Paul away from himself and the Timelord.
"Stop, stop, I remember now! Dudes, that's me!" He looked at Ted and then pulled him out of David's grip. "Dude!" Marko cried, pulling him into a hug.
Ted was too stunned to hug back, but when Marko let go, he dusted Ted off.
"Dude, I'm sorry about the whole attacking thing."
Ted couldn't really respond properly, so all he said was, "It's okay dude."
"What did you do to Marko?" David said, irritated, turning to The Doctor.
Now knowing that Marko wouldn't let the vampires kill him, he held up a long stick and pressed a button. It whirred loudly.
"It's called a sonic screwdriver. All I did was gently remind Marko here of his past. Clearly the time streams messed with his mind, so it just took a bit of unscrambling."
Marko threw an arm around Bill and Ted.
"Sorry I attacked you dudes, but I think some introductions are most needed. For the sake of confusion, just keep calling me Marko. This triumphant dude here is David--"
David had the presence of a leader. With long, silvery-blond hair and a leather jacket, he had an unexplained professional air that made him the leader. David clearly did not like being addressed as a 'triumphant dude' instead of with respect that Marko would've given. This was evidenced by the fact that his fangs were still out, and he turned his glare to the three boys when addressed as such.
"This dude here is Dwayne--" Marko gestured to a tall vampire with long, black hair. He wore a leather jacket but no shirt. Despite being intimidated, Bill had to think that particular outfit couldn't be comfortable. Dwayne didn't appear to like Marko's change in behavior either, but he didn't comment.
"And this here is Paul." Marko finished, pointing at the sandy-haired vampire. Paul just waved his fingers and nodded his head in a greeting.
"Okay guys, this is me -uh, Bill. Bill S. Preston, Esquire! And this is my best friend, Ted 'Theodore' Logan! Together, we are --uh, they are-- WYLD STALLYNS!" Marko broke into an air guitar. Bill and Ted followed.
"Aaaaand, sorry dude, I don't know who you are," Marko pointed at The Doctor.
"I'm The Doctor," he said with a wave.
"Doctor What?" Paul said in disbelief.
The Doctor squinted slightly, since that wasn't what they usually said. "Just The Doctor, thanks."
That was when all the vampires turned their heads at the same time.
"Crap," Marko whispered.
"What, dude?" Ted whispered back.
"We're being watched, let's go." Marko took Bill by the arm and started pulling him.
"No, dude, we gotta go to the time machine!" Bill said, tugging him the other way.
"Where is it?"
"Parked around the corner of a little comic shop," The Doctor said quickly.
"Bogus," Marko mumbled. He thought quick. "Okay, okay, we can go around, but we have to take the bikes."
"Bikes?" Ted piped up.
"Yeah, motorcycles. David, we have to go!"
In the end, Bill ended up on the back of Marko's motorcycle, Ted was clinging to Paul for all it was worth, and The Doctor was forced onto the back of Dwayne's bike. David was alone.
Ted was terrified, speeding down little roads, taking jumps and quick turns that should've killed him. He much rather would've been on Marko's bike. He trusted Bill in either form, and Bill would've been safe on anyone's bike, given that the vamps knew Marko. They would be more likely to protect Bill.
But here he was, on the back of Paul's bike, and Paul had no reason to keep him safe other than to appease Marko, which he didn't have to do. And that terrified him.
The Doctor wasn't doing too much better with Dwayne.
Even over the motors and the wind, Ted could hear The Doctor shouting, "Now can't you go a little slower?! You really shouldn't take these turns so--aaah, please be careful!!"
Dwayne was ignoring him, dark hair flying out behind him in the moonlight.
Ted was getting a face full of Paul's hair as well, but that wasn't stopping him from gripping Paul tight around the middle to avoid falling off.
At one point, Paul turned around to look at him after Ted frantically tightened his grip when they took an unexpected jump.
"Loosen your grip there or buy me dinner first," Paul said to him, and then let out a wild laugh, letting his fangs come out.
Ted watched Bill and Marko the whole way, because the bikes were generally next to each other the whole time. The Doctor pointed to the TARDIS as they neared the Boardwalk.
Dwayne took the lead and The Doctor clicked his fingers at just the right moment. The doors of the TARDIS flew open and the two drove right in.
David followed extremely close behind and circled the console to slow down.
Marko and Bill were next, slowing rapidly and pulling up onto some stairs.
Paul and Ted finished as the doors swung shut behind them. Paul took Ted right up the stairs and they almost crashed into the TARDIS wall.
The Doctor practically jumped off the back of the bike once he untangled himself from Dwayne and ran to the console.
Bill and Marko took their time getting everything situated. They were chatting casually about whatever.
"You can let go now," Paul growled, showing Ted his fangs.
Ted called his bluff, but he shakily climbed off the bike anyway.
The Doctor took a piece of Ted's hair and put it in the TARDIS to get to his timeline. There were three extra passengers than The Doctor had intended, but he could deal with it.
But as The Doctor went to set the TARDIS on the right path, he noticed there were actually five extra passengers.
"So! You're in cahoots with the vampires!" Out of the hallway of the TARDIS came the two brothers from the comic book shops, holding wooden stakes with their faces painted camouflage. They walked right up to Ted as the TARDIS started up.
"We warned you, buddy!"
