Tick Tock, Tick Tock (Part 2)

Author's Note: Whaaattt??? 400 reads??! You guys are awesome!!! I cry. Hope you guys enjoy the new chapter!

It was pitch black for about thirty seconds before lights on the floor came on, like the ones in a movie theater that showed you where steps were. They followed the perimeter of the hallways on each side in an eerie pale blue.

The four boys stood there in silent panic for a moment, thinking about what happened, when Marko cursed under his breath and threw his entire body weight at the closed console door. He threw himself at it several times before slumping against the wall in pain, holding his shoulder.

"Screw it, we're totally screwed. What does 'one hour' mean?" Marko hissed.
Ted sat down next to him.

"Doctor, are you there?" Neo called. "Doctor, do you hear me?" There was no response.

"This is bogus. What are we supposed to do for an hour?" Bill grumbled.

"We're screwed," Marko repeated, "we sit here and die, that's what we do."

Ted was always trying to be an optimist, "C'mon, let's follow the hall and see where the lights take us."

He rose to his feet and offered a hand to Marko. He felt the leather of Marko's glove, tightened his grip, and helped the vampire to his feet. It was still very dark and very hard to see. In fact, Neo was almost completely out of sight with his completely black outfit.

Ted's hand followed the wall, the others trailing cautiously behind him. He didn't want to be the leader and would've felt more comfortable if someone else was in front, mainly because it was so dark and his imagination was on the loose.

The alarm began screeching again suddenly, causing Ted's heart to jump out of his skin, and judging by the others' voices and Marko's cursing--it was too dark to see-- the noise had scared them, too.

"Paradox detected. You have one hour."

"One hour to do what?!" Marko cried at the ceiling.

Neo spoke up grimly. "One hour to escape,"

"Why would you even say that, dude?" Bill asked, voice rising in pitch nervously.

"Think about it. It's a time machine, we're a paradox. Only makes sense that it would try to get rid of us."

"Well, it's too dark to see anything, dudes, and the door is locked, but.... hang on..... you guys see that light?"
Ted trailed off, because around the corner in the very distant end of the hall was a small light, which could mean a way out.

Bill came up next to him, and Ted could only see the faint outline of his friend's face.
"Yeah dudes, that looks like our best shot." They all slowly headed for it, like a moth to a flame.

"Looks too obviously like a trap," Marko mumbled, touching the door.
No sooner had the words left the vampire's mouth did the room around them disintegrate, leaving nothing but the door and the ring of light. The light was dim, but they could at least all see each other in it.

"Wait, there's something on the door," Neo stated.

The journey begins with a single step
But it can't prepare you for what happens next
Inside you are all your fears
Hidden there all through the years
The room is a trap but your only way out
You soon will see what your heart's all about.

The inscription glowed gold in the pale blue lights from nowhere.
"What does it mean?" Bill whispered.

"It means that whatever is in there is going to try and keep us from leaving the room." Neo explained.

"'What your heart's all about?' What do they mean by that?" Marko scoffed.

"Probably that you're gonna see something in there that you don't want. Your fears. Or maybe you see something you had to hide, or what's important to you." Ted offered.

"We go in together, or not at all. No exceptions." Bill said. The clock behind their eyes read 45 minutes.

"We have to go, then." Ted confirmed. The others nodded.

"Remember, anything you see in there is not real. You're seeing what the TARDIS wants you to. No matter how real it feels, don't forget we have 43 minutes left to get out," Neo reminded them. "We stick together as best as we can."

Neo reached for the door handle. Ted grabbed on to his long coat. Bill took ahold of the back of Ted's shirt, and Marko ended the chain by putting a hand on Bill's shoulder.

They all shuffled through together.

But they came out apart.

Author's Note: whoops another cliffhanger xD
I'm hoping to get part 3 up really quick though because originally it was only gonna be a two-part thing. Whoops :P
Also, I can't make ominous poems like the ones on the door so just pretend.
Predictions as to what they're gonna see in the room?
Be Excellent to each other and Party on dudes! \m/
