demo chapter 2
Chloé Bourgeois was the living definition of disaster. The spoiled mayor's daughter wanted the world to revolve around her, regardless of the consequences. When she heard that her rival had a farewell party, she wanted her to crash it. She never liked Kagami because she was too close to Adrien, and she had an unlikable personality. Chloé was happy that she was leaving, but she made up her mind to humiliate her for the last time.
Of course, she had to be fashionable when entering a peasant's territory, so she wore a pale yellow gown with heels and a silver purse. When she glanced at the mirror, she looked like someone she hated. She avoided tears from spilling as she applied her makeup.
Chloé's father obeyed his daughter's order when he sent her in a limo. During her ride, she made a plan on making Kagami's last day the worst. Her face had a look of satisfaction when she saw how dull the party was.
'Well, things were about to get interesting,' Chloé thought as she walked towards the juice bar, grimacing at the laughing teenagers.
She didn't care how cruel her actions may be; it runs in the family.
"Hey, Chlo," said a high-pitched voice that belonged to a teenaged girl. She had pale brown and gray rimmed glasses, and she wore a purple apron on her white long-sleeved shirt.
"What are you doing here, Sabrina? I thought you were with Aurore."
"She canceled on me. I had nothing better to do, so I offered to serve drinks for my aunt, who owns the smoothie place around the corner."
"Cool, what do you have?"
"I have many, but here's your favorite, strawberry punch," said the red-headed girl as she poured the liquid into a clear glass.
"Thanks, Sab. You're the best," muttered Chloé as she began to walk away. It felt amazing to talk to her friend after a long time; she never knew why they stopped interacting. The chatter and music in the room turned down, and someone stood on a platform beside the dance floor.
"Good evening, everyone. My name is Marinette Dupain-Cheng."
Ridiculous!
The French-Chinese girl was the last person Chloé wanted to see.
"Today is the last day for someone very extraordinary, and I would like to tell her what she means to me."
The phrase "an enemy's enemy is an enemy's friend" would work very nicely here. Chloé didn't pay attention to the rest of her sappy speech. She hated Marinette to the extent that she could expel her from school, but Adrien would avoid her if she did so.
Her childhood crush didn't know Dupain-Cheng well (despite having classes together), and Chloé intended to keep it that way. She sighed as she thought of the young Agreste, how unaware and oblivious he was to his surroundings.
The crowd began clapping after her speech ended. The blonde-haired girl could care less about her nemesis. She noticed a young boy take the mic from her, and she wasn't expecting who the person was.
"Most of you would know, but for those who don't, I am Adrien Agreste."
Utterly ridiculous!
Chloé scoffed as she heard his sappy speech for Kagami. Of course, that stupid athlete had managed to find her way into Adrien's life with her "incredible" skills, and "friendly" nature.
Marinette and Adrien's speeches highlighted how amazing Kagami was, and that got Chloé thinking, why was she holding a grudge against her? Just because she was more likable than she was? Or that she managed to get her lover's attention when the mayor's daughter couldn't do that?
She took a sip from her glass as she thought. Half of her wanted to make amends with her so that Adrien would think highly of her. The other half wished to embarrass her so she could never forget the pain she did to her. Chloé didn't know what to do; her mind was all over the place.
But something brought her to go with her original plan, something horrible. And that something happened when Kagami kissed Adrien on the cheek.
The blonde was furious. All thoughts of becoming Kagami's friend were gone and replaced with feelings of hate and jealousy. Glancing at the drink in her hand, she got ready to do her master plan. Chloé walked towards Kagami with a sinister smile.
She knew this was right, and that girl deserved it, but it still gave an icky feeling in her gut. Nonetheless, she approached the Japanese teenager as she got ready to spill the liquid in her glass on her.
No one knew what her true intentions were except for one girl. She pushed Kagami away before Chloé did her evil deed. The blonde brat didn't notice and dropped the juice. Her outfit got ruined, and she looked like a mess.
That young lady was Alya Césaire.
