Chapter 25
“I’m going back to the dorm.” I sigh
I get up from the cafeteria table. I don’t have any appetite and I couldn’t get much sleep last night. I kept waking up, having bad dreams. I tip my untouched toast away and turn to leave. Then I see him. Tobias. He comes in, looking ruffled. His head whips back and forth, searching. Then his eyes lock on mine and he runs across the room to me.
He picks me up by my waist and I run my fingers through his messy hair. I have my eyes closed but I can feel a roomful of eyes on us. I block them out. All I want to be real is me and Tobias. I want our kiss to last forever but after a while Tobias pulls back, setting me gently to my feet. My legs feel weak and I clutch Tobias tight. Partly to keep me from falling and partly to make sure for certain that he’s here, he’s mine.
I hear Christina’s familiar laugh. Looking up I see I was right, all eyes are on us. Tobias looks up and raises his voice.
“Everyone, can I have your attention?”
He’s already got it after our little reunion. He takes a deep breath.
“You all know me as Four. A Dauntless trainer and recently a leader. But you don’t know who I really am. I am Tobias Eaton. I am from Abnegation. I am Marcus Eaton’s son.” He says and looks at me. “You might think that I would want to see Marcus again, that I miss him. But I don’t. I have everything I love right here.”
He holds out his hand to me and I take it, squeezing it hard. He leads me out of the dining room and down to his apartment. We sit on the bed and across the room I see the letter I wrote last night laid on the table.
“Right, now I’ve told them the truth, it’s time to tell you the truth.” He sighs
