Lucy's POV

We burst out into the sun. There was a small beach to our left, made out of bits of rock. The river was kept at bay with a wall of black stone. I glanced up and saw the busy street above.

"Lockwood?" I ask

"Yes Lucy?"

"Do you think the others are okay?" I turn to look at him.

"Their all fine Luce. As soon as we got out of the building the ghost stopped. They were all worried, though you couldn't see it. They didn't say anything but I saw it at least. When they weren't paying attention I climbed down after you." Lockwood blushed "I hated to think about how cold you must be down there so I waited until nobody was looking and came for you."

My eyes widened."You shouldn't have done it." I say almost angry.

"You know I'd die for you."Lockwood is looking at the water lapping around our ankles. After a few seconds he glances up. I feel my eyes soften. He tilts his face up to the sun. I take a step closer to him.

"Lockwood.." I stand on tiptoe and kiss his cheek. His eyes snap open and he looks down at me. I risk a smile. He smiles back. His signature mega-watt smile. I shield my eyes.

 "I think I might have discovered a second sun there Lockwood" I grumble. Lockwood throws his head back and laughs.

"Come on Luce." He grabs my hand and leads me up onto the rocky beach. We climb the wall and pull ourselves up onto the street. He takes my hand again and we walk over the where the department store lies in ruins. All the windows have been smashed and theres basically nothing left of the foyer.

Everyone is running around in a panic.

 George is yelling at Kipps and everyone else is basically running around like chickens without their heads. I look at Lockwood. He looks at me and we burst into a fit of giggles.

"Should I tell them?" Lockwood asks. I think for a moment.

"No let me do it." I step forward. "OI!!" I yell and everyone turns to look at me and Lockwood.

"LUCY!! LOCKWOOD!!" Holly cries. She shoots out of the crowd and practically tackles us both. "Please don't scare me like that ever again" she mumbles into my shirt. I look at Lockwood. He nods. 

"We promise." We say in unison before the crowd collapses on us and we can't hear ourselves think.
