Lucy's POV

How. DARE. She!! All of a sudden Holly thinks she can just waltz in and take Lockwood away from me?! Nope. Not happening. I glance over at Lockwood. He's just about done with the press. "Should I?" I look at Holly. She smirks and sashays over to Lockwood.

"Sorry there gentlemen but Mr.Lockwood has other duties that need to be done right now. I DO apologize for the inconvenience." She flashes a quick smile at the camera then grabs Lockwood's arm and drags him over to where we are. He breaks out of Holly's death-grip.

"Are you feeling okay Luce?" He asks, grabbing my wrist.

"I-I'm fine Lockwood. You?" I ask gently pulling my wrist out of his grip. He studies me for a moment.

"I'm fine. Hey Lucy could I talk to you a sec?" Without waiting for a response he drags me to the other side of what remains of the street. "Who are they and what did they say to you?" He asks keeping his voice low. I flinch.

"What makes you think someone said something to me?" I counter. I realize I'm wringing my hands. I quickly shove them into my pockets. Lockwood narrows his eyes and I take a step back.

"If no one said anything then why are you so on jumpy? The last time you were like this is when.." He trails off and his eyes widen. "Is when your mother was beating you." I look away.

"It's nothing I swear! I'm just tired that's all. And I'm on edge after what I saw down there." I take a deep breath. "Before you ask Lockwood it was a Fetch. A Type Three Fetch." Lockwood's jaw went slack. He reached out to touch me.

"Lucy.."

"No, I'm not done yet. It took your shape Lockwood. In the store I didn't see what happened to you. I thought you fell with me. It took advantage of my panic and transformed into you, saying how you would have had it any other way or some rubbish like that. And for an instant I-I doubted you. Then I thought about it. I thought to myself 'Anthony Lockwood would be more likely to have Kipps run him through the fall down a stupid hole in the ground' that thought gave me strength." I look at the ground blushing.

"Luce look at me." I shake my head still staring at the ground. Then Lockwood grabs my chin and lifts it up.

And then he kissed me. A full contact, make your head spin, you need to break for air, kiss. I closed my eyes and melted. I swear I heard Holly's jaw hit the pavement. And underneath the kiss, underneath it ALL.

I grinned.

Thanks for taking the time out of your day to read this fanfic! It really means a lot!

On another note: Sorry guys I might not be posting as much lately. My family has been having... Issues. That's all I'm gonna say. Anyway I will still try to post but they may not be as frequent. I'll start posting more stuff when it gets better!! Please don't be upset if I'm not on for a couple days!!!
