Acceptance

It was strange how much he missed his sibling and nephew, they'd barely left and already there home was too quiet.

Sure they'd sped up time in there AU, wile Sun would have grown quickly none of them had wanted them to loose too much time outside as they grew up again.

"I'm sure you'll be fine Dusk, the Core seems mischievous but there friends with my nephew.. who was Chaos chosen before his rebirth," he told the nervous deity in front of him, Dusk looked around sixteen.. they'd looked younger before but gotten tired of being treated like a child. They were still short, with large expressing Black eyelights.

"What if they don't like me, the void likes me and the voidling thinks I'm funny.. but I've never had a true chosen before," Dusk muttered worriedly, tugging on there sleeves of there sweater. Order wished he knew why Dusk's self confidence was so low, they were a higher deity and their sibling that represented the anti-void while a bit snobbish loved there sibling to bits.

"Then there not worth it, you don't have to choose them Dusk. But you still need to help them, your the only one that can control the cores," Order said gently, Dusk's shoulders sank for a moment before they straightened out.

"Right.. I can do this, thanks for the pep talk," Dusk said fidgeting a bit as Order released them, they were wearing a temporary shell of a body for there visit and to meet up with core.

"Anytime Dusk, will you stay for dinner before you leave. Ashes liked your stories," he offered, seeing Ashes peeking into the room in interest.

"Sure, I've never eaten mortal food before," Dusk brightened.

"Helios, I can walk," Order pouted, the swap grinned easily holding the Epic and child.

"I don't know, your both so small and tiny you might get lost," he teased his golden eyes dancing in amusement, he had been relieved that being a deity hadn't changed Marconi as they had feared it would, Ashes giggled, taking in the fun as he should.

"I'm not tiny, your just too tall," the pout grew from Order with the protest, Helios gave a silly hum studying the two in his arms.

"I am tall, but your also short for an Epic," he said grandly.

"He got you mama," Ashes giggled, Helios always felt so warm to his senses.

"Ha ha," Order laughed a bit sarcastically, but was clearly enjoying it the joke.

"I'm glad you are well," Helios said once he finally released them, more serious now that there greeting was. He reached out and touched Marconi's face, one of his friends silver eyes were slightly off if one studied it to long.

"I am too, While only half a year passed for you since the event longer passed for us for recovery," Order said, gently pushing Helios hand away from near his eye. He no longer needed the eyepatch, but a bit of deity hood would leak through for a few more years apparently.

But at least he could see through both eyes, as a mortal form now.

Helios gaze flickered at the movement, knowing the eye likely had something to do with this Maestro that had caused them to vanish so long.

Marconi tilted his head towards Ashes, a full explanation could wait till then.

"Where's Mani?" Ashes piped up looking around the couples home, as Helios mate was nowhere in sight or hearing.

"He's been rather busy with a large case, looking for safe placements for children," Helios replied, the child huffed having hoped to see the other.

"So rare to see you apart," Order said surprised, as they seemed joined at the hip.

A startled laugh escaped Helios, he loved Mani beyond anything else in existence but they did work separate "We can do things apart my dear, he's best in placements and making sure they have the best doctors. Right now I'm helping with the next MPS grove expansion"

"Grove?" Ashes asked instantly curious, his feline Guardians ears perked up also in interest.

"MPS has an AU we claimed long ago, it was abandoned and its own base. Supposedly our founders who were deities gifted it to us, we have grove trees in hidden alcoves weer puzzles are done. The highest puzzles are with the Grove masters, you can get prize tokens but to get a master token you need all grove master tokens," Helios explained, Order felt a grin growing.

(Puzzles!) Erebus said eagerly.

"That's right, My grove is the one everyone can find and start at. The Sun Solar, and Mani is the final grove right now, rarely beaten," he replied "We even have an event soon and I have invites for you"

Helios's paused, that grin on Marconi's face was a bit too knowing.

Marconi... a Deity.

"Your one of the founders, aren't you?" Helios asked dryly.

"Both myself and my Twin Chaos are, I was very happy when I remembered," Order said practically glowing in happiness, after all they had grown so much.

"Wait Chaos?" Helios asked, he had not asked Marconi who they were.

"Who else represents the chaotic side of children," Marconi grinned "If you haven't figured out I'm Order"

"I have so many questions now," Helios sighed, Marconi's grin grew somehow.

There would be some rather interesting conversations, when Ashes went down for there nap.

------

Ashes played in the tree house, he rather missed Sun.

His cousin was always fun, never standing still and always having new games to play. He hoped there traveling was okay, Ashes had time to adjust to being a Deity after Maestro and the.. death of his original mortal body, Sun was in rather mortal but his deity side would grow stronger over time.

There was worry over that, Sun was of Chaos and he Order but Sun still had to find there own inner balance.

(Ashes?) Erebus queried staring at his monster, worried at how quiet they had been.

"Do you hate me?" Ashes asked quietly, the question coming from nowhere.

(No, why would I?")

"I...." Ashes began then paused, then pulled his guardian into a hug.

(Ashes, its okay. While it was an accident, I'm more free and happy then I was in my original AU and multiverse) Erebus said licking there face and putting them with his forehead, knowing the gem there would not scratch or hurt them.

"Life was such a curse before mama, I lived.. I died.. My body and fate kept rewinding to my original body. It.. was hell," he whispered.

(Oh Ashes, we love you so much) the Guardian said sending love across there bond.

"I know, but.. sometimes I have nightmares that I'll wake up and we never met mama," he admitted.

(Never a dream, Order would destroy reality for you) they replied, Ashes sobbed and began softly crying.

It had taken years after being reborn in this loving family, but deep in his soul something began to heal.
