VII - Moon Watches A Beheading
Glossaryk, the man in the book, the teacher of Queens, one of the most intelligent being's in the universe, and a funny little bastard who chills in his book all the goddamn time. He's been around for a hell lot of time, and in that hell lot of time he has been guiding Queen's and Princess's of Mewni, helping them find their ability to do spectacles of mesmerizing magical powers, either for leisure, for entertainment, for self-defense, for reconnaissance, for punishment, for war, for authority, and for much more.
Other than that, all he does is slack off like a potato.
Beep!
The Mirror came on; Glossaryk sat up comically, and pressed the glass button to accept the call. "Ah! Queen Butterfly," He greets the lady on the screen, Moon of course gave a small smile and lightened her face up for a moment, Glossaryk stretched back up and said, "Real happy to talk to you again, been too long Moon, so, why'd you call?" and said so in his playful manner.
"Ah yes, it's about my daughter Star." She replied.
"Oh yes... You'd like to talk about her, let's say." Glossaryk pulls up hands and makes quote en quote signs with his two fingers, "Disgraceful Attitude."
Moon sighs, crosses her arms and says, "Yes, I know... She's been having these... Disgusting Dreams about the men she's been around."
"Oh you mean her ex-boyfriend, that guy with a record, that fat kid who's a friend of Marco, that tan kid with glasses who's also a friend of Marco, that blonde with muscles too big for a 2nd year high school student, her Spanish teacher, that kid from across the street, some kid named Jeremy, Marco Diaz Himself, His Da-"
"Yes! Yes! I Get It! But only the first three, No! No! W-"
"Eugh, you mean she had some sex dream about that fat kid?"
"NO!" She shouted, Glossaryk only giggled. "Look, I..." She looked down, and fiddled with her fingers, "I believe she's gained an ancient viral infection and..." She paused, Glossaryk listened now, "It's causing her to act like this, and it's been evolving, it's taking control of her, and I fear it will become a part of her we will never be able to control."
Glossaryk now gazed downwards, he knew many of the victims of this lustful plague too well, it was only because of Queen Soupina Butterfly's Healing Soup Concoction, and mind you this is a real Queen of Mewni, did the viral infection ever cease. She never recorded this concoction in the Book of Spells, so Glossaryk couldn't have known it either. If this disease ever came back, and with Star being on earth, Star's name would have to be changed to Patient Zero, Only humans, Pixies, and Murlocks however are immune to this disease, many of the other magical kingdoms of the universe have their princesses training and are also scattered among this planet, they may also be deeply affected, to make things worse, victims of this disease may die if not given what was designed to desire. It is usually gained by teenagers who have just exited Mewberty Phase. Or Any Other Phase of Maturity of any other species, whatever it may be.
Glossaryk then soon realized, Star cannot be returned to Mewni; the outbreak will be more devastating in Mewni since Mewman are highly open to this disease. And with more and more children transitioning to adulthood, many innocent would die.
Even if the outbreak would not spread to Mewni, if anyone found out, gossip would emerge and citizens would leave Mewni in a mass exodus, Commerce for Mewni would cripple, and Star would die of an ancient viral infection, unless of course, they executed her. It would be horrifying, but that was how House Lefaye rid the Kingdom of this disease, and it worked out absolutely amazing for them. But this of course was the Heir to the Throne, many people would weep for her sudden loss, including River and Moon, and Marco and his Family, including all the friends she's had across the universe. They would never allow it.
It was all on Moon now.
"Well... Mewni has encountered this disease before; it was in Queen Soupina's heir where in it appeared." Glossaryk explained, "This disease, I believe carries some pretty nasty hormones, they make her feel a need for sex, and well, if they don't gain it they go insane. She dies, either of suicide or the extreme amount of hormones, which eventually kills her."
Moon looked down and silently sobbed, Glossaryk explained on, "If the body dies because of the hormones, it may spread through the air, infecting more and more victims, but..."
Glossaryk paused and Moon looked back up at him, tears threatening to fall from her eyes, he sighed, and continued, "If the organ is cut into two or more pieces, the infection will not spread, and the disease would die along with the infected."
She said all of a sudden, "Where is the location of this organ then?"
Glossaryk sighed, and pointed to his neck, "It is located here, and it surrounds the whole neck, decapitation is the only means of removing this infection aside from Queen Soupina's Antidote."
Moon was shook all of a sudden, not by anyone, not by anything, but a sinking feeling she remembered in her younger days, she was only 10 at that time, and she was taking a brisk stroll along the kingdom, she saw her mother with a small crowd near her on the corner of a wall, there was a man with a gag along his mouth, his hands tied to his back with a thick rope, and was standing next to a plank of wood sticking up, a bucket just on the other side of him, he was not afraid, or so it looked to Moon. Her mother stepped forwards, she was holding a golden broadsword, it looked much too heavy for a man to carry, let alone a Queen, but Moon had never held one before, so she wouldn't have known.
She walked up to the man and two guards made the man kneel down and place his head in a slot by the plank, he was facing the bucket downwards; sweat dripping from his head to the bucket, "Is the bucket just for the sweat then? What's Mom doing here?" she whispered, and continued to stare.
Moon's Mother made the edge of her sword stab the end of the ground, and she held the sword and closed her eyes, she started to mutter out loud, "All Life is fruitful, but even the sun shall set in paradise. You have been charged by the Great Court of Justice of Mewni of robbery, homicide, drug trafficking, and association with underground mafia groups, On behalf of the entire Court of Mewni's Officials, the Royal Council, and of all the citizens of Mewni. I, a woman, a Queen of Mewni, and a Butterfly, sentence you to death by Public Execution." She holds the sword with both hands and swings it upwards into the sky, she lastly says, "May God have mercy on your soul." And the sword swung down.
Moon never looked away, she wanted to desperately, but the sword cut through his neck so fast it pushed the head away missing the bucket completely and then rolled along the muddy gravel pave way.
Blood sputtered from the head and the body and it filled the whole bucket with blood, the Queen's dress was splattered in blood, which she did not mind, the sword was also covered in the fluid. A Guard picked up the severed head and body while another guard brought with him a large barrel full of water, the Queen placed the sword in the water barrel then pulled it out, and washed her hands with the bloody water. She wiped her hands on a towel and walked up to the man's severed head, she stared at the head in the guards hands for a short while then walked back into the crowd of other Royalty.
Moon stayed silent, she didn't want to let her mother know she was watching, but she already knew, and she kept going anyways...
...
"Dear, you're leaving?" River said through the door way into their bedroom, Moon was packing her things herself and looked back at him suddenly as he spoke. She muttered lightly, "River, I need to leave for a few days, its-"
"It's about Star's weirdo behavior isn't it?" River had sighed, and then he chuckled a little bit. "Just promise you won't be gone for too long? Please Moon-pie?"
Moon smiled at her husband, "I Promise."
A promise she probably won't keep.
