Chapter Two: AfterMath
Third Person POV
For a whole week the Gods celebrated. All kneeled before the four brothers, both in respect and fear. None ever believed Kronos would ever be defeated. But then the four came and down went Kronos.
The Gods were all sitting in a circular room, trying to establish control and domains. Zeus and Hades were arguing over the throne.
Perseus' POV
I sat on a chair listening to my brothers fight over the throne.
'I do not want the bloody throne! But you do not deserve it Zeus! It was Perseus that truly defeated Kronos, so it is him that deserves the throne' Hades argued.
I sighed. I do not wish to have the throne either. I don't want to become a tyrant like father. Besides, I'm not sure I am ready for that kind of responsibility. When I was Prince of the Titans, father never gave me any resposibility, he always took control over everything.
Zeus growled in annoyance. 'I am the most powerful, so it is I who deserves the throne!' Zeus retorted back to Hades, causing a round of quiet chuckling from the gathered Gods. Everyone knew that I was the most powerful, and that Poseidon is the second most powerful.
However, what nobody knows is that Lady Hestia, my younger sister, is more powerful than Poseidon, Zeus and Hades combined. Nobody realizes this because Hestia wouldn't hurt a fly. She would never cause anyone pain.
I rolled my eyes in annoyance. 'Can we please stop arguing? I'm getting a major headache' I complained, placing my hands on my head.
My brothers looked at me, unsure of what to say. Yeah, this is the first time I've spoken ever since I killed father.
'He speaks!' A blond godling said, whom I found out was called Apollo, twin brother to Artemis.
I rolled my eyes. 'Of course I speak young one. I've just had...many things to think about' I replied cautiously.
I heard the Goddesses giggle, which was nice until I heard someone or something shriek. I turned to see a dark haired woman jumping up and down on a chair. I sighed, why is Aphrodite here?
I covered my ears as Aphrodite continued to shriek, staring dead at me.
'Is that painful noise really necessary?' I ask Aphrodite, annoyed as I glare at her.
'When I see someone as hot as you, of course it's necessary!' She says winking at me as her eyes travel all around my body.
I'm not sure wether to feel scared or disgusted right now. She's staring at me as if I'm some sort of prize. Is that normal on a Goddess? The Titaness' were never like that. Then again everyone was afraid to even speak to me thanks to my father.
'Um, please stop staring at me as if I'm some sort of prize. I can assure you that whatever is going through your head right now is NEVER going to happen' I said as politely as possible, not wanting to anger anyone.
The other Goddesses snickered and looked happy at my response, however Aphrodite didn't seem to get the hint as she kept eying me.
'Can we get back to the meeting?' Zeus asked annoyed.
I turned my attention back to him. 'Of course little brother' I said thankful to change the subject.
Zeus glared at me when I said little brother, but it's not my fault he was born after me.
'Yes, let's crown a King already' One of the Gods said.
'Indeed, let's put this matter to a vote since we can't seem to decide whom to choose' Poseidon suggested looking around to see many nods of agreement.
Zeus glared. 'Fine, all in favor of me being king, raise your hands' Zeus declared, raising his hand.
Only about a handful raised their hands. Hades smiled.
'All in favor of Lord Perseus to become King, Raise your hands' Hades declared, raising his hand.
I stared in shock as almost everyone raised their hands. None of these people even knew me, and already they wish to place a crown on my head.
'I do not wish for the throne though' I whined, refusing to accept the throne.
'But it has been decided, you can do whatever you wish to do when you are king' Poseidon said, not having a problem with me being king.
I thought over to what I would do as king. Yes, I can make thrones for a small council that will rule over the rest of the Gods. They will be charged with ruling and protecting the rest of the Gods and guiding the humans.
I sighed in surrender. 'Very well, I do have ideas as to what to do if I am crowned king' I said respectfully as to not seem arrogant.
Hades and Poseidon smiled at me while Zeus gave me a dirty glare, his eyes burning with hatred. I looked at my brother in sadness, I had no wish for my family to hate me. What did I do to deserve such hatred?
Hades and Poseidon stood from their chairs. 'All hail King Perseus Jackson Void Oblovion, Primordial God of Dimensions, Elements, Time, Weapons, Creation, Darkness and Shadows. He is the King of Oblivion and Patron of Heroes and our new King!' They both chanted, looking at me with pride.
Everyone in the room stood from their chairs and kneeled before me. In that instant, a crown appeared on my head, showing everyone that I am King.
I sighed, took a deep breath and steeled myself before speaking. 'Thank you all for believing in me enough to crown me your King. I will do my very best to help better this world and all who dwell in its land' I declared looking at everyone in the room.
'Now please rise. I may be King now but I have never liked seeing anyone bowing to me' I said gesturing with my hand for all to rise.
Everyone stood up, looking intently at me to lead them. All had pride at me, and Hope that I would lead them to a new Age. An Age of peace.
I raised my head proudly. 'As my first order of business, I declare that there will be a council that will help me in deciding how to rule the world' I stated.
Everyone looked at me in shock since everyone expected me to rule alone.
I gave them all a smile. 'In this council shall be the following people. Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hestia, Artemis, Apollo, Ares, Hera, Athena, Hephaestus, Hermes, Aphrodite and Demeter. Each of the said people shall have a throne built for them by Hephaestus' I declared confidently, however I had some serious doubts about letting Aphrodite in the council. I sighed, perhaps I should have picked someone else.
The said Council Members moved to stand around me. 'Also, from this moment onward, we shall be known as the Olympians!' I said, cheering in my head at the genius name I came up with.
The gathered Gods and Goddesses, both major and minor cheered and clapped in joy at their new ruler and their new King. I hoped to not let them down.
Summoning my power, I flashed every God and Goddess to Mount Olympus where my father still had his Throne. All of the Gods looked confused as to why I took them here. I just smiled and pulled out my sword. It glowed until it transformed into a glowing spear that emanated power.
I aimed my spear at my father's throne and a beam of godly energy shot out of the tip of my spear, and hit my father's throne, destroying it completely. I then turned and did the same to every throne in the room.
Once finished a turned to the other Gods. 'My friends, this shall be our new home! Welcome to amount Olympus, Home of the Gods' I declared.
The Gods and Goddesses looked around excitedly. 'Hephaestus, Can you begin constructing new thrones for the Council? And after you are finished, can you start building us homes?' I asked, hoping I wasn't asking for too much.
Hephaestus grinned in apprehension. 'It would be my absolute honor my lord! I will begin now' He replied, running to the Forge that the Titans used to use.
Third Person POV
For the next year, the new Olympian Council convened meetings and passed laws that will be followed. Hephaestus had also finished building the new thrones for every Olympian Council Member.
King Perseus' Throne was absolutely breath taking. It was a throne unlike any other. It's size was so great, it almost touched the huge ceiling. The throne was Pitch Black, decorating it were many designs, all colored Imperial Gold, Godly Silver, Imperial Bronze and Titan Steel. The throne also had depictions of every Element, a giant clock, many different kinds of weapons, shadows, and every Domain Perseus had.
Each time Perseus sat upon his Throne, it would shine brightly, making him seem even more powerful. All who came to the King would be in awe and the power that radiated him. And all would kneel before him in great respect, for he was a kind and just king who placed the needs of his family and all others before himself.
None ever defied King Perseus, however not everyone worshipped him. When the war with the Titans was over, the Humans split apart, each choosing a god whom they built cities after.
Each city was dedicated to a certain God. Ares for example, had a city named Sparta, where all worshipped Ares, and Ares only. Another example would be the Great City of Athens, which was built for Lady Athena.
As is often the case when it comes to Humans, wars broke out between the different cities, all wanting to prove which was the better city. No God interfered directly in the wars, for King Perseus had forbidden it. But each God aided their cities by giving them aid and information on enemy plans.
Perseus sighed for he was once again in a boring meeting. It was just another God asking to interfere in a war. More specifically, it was Ares and he was more begging than asking.
'Please let me enter the war!' Ares begged.
'Ares, you know very well what my answer is. No God or Goddess is to interfere in the affairs of Humans' Perseus replied calmly.
Ares sighed in defeat. 'Fine' He muttered.
I looked at him sadly. He is a War God, yet he could not do what his domain demanded of him. I felt sorry for him actually.
'Ares, I know that your very blood is itching for battle, but the Humans are off limits. However, you have my permission to kill any monster you come across' Perseus said, looking for a middle ground.
Ares perked up at that. 'I can fight any monster I want?' He asked looking excited.
Perseus nodded. 'Yes, as many of you wish for violence, I give all Gods permission to kill as many monsters as you all wish. However, if a Human is harmed or killed, your punishment shall be severe' Perseus declared.
The Olympian Council nodded their heads in agreement. All monsters served the Titans, and they still do, so it's ok to kill any and all monsters.
Zeus was angry as always. He hated his older brother for taking what he believed was his birthright. Zeus swore that someday he will become king, and Perseus would pay.
For years, the world prospered during Perseus' Rein. There was peace between the Gods and all humans worshipped the Gods. Perseus ruled with a just heart and fairness to any being, from the most powerful and rich to the weakest and poorest. However his rein did not last as his younger brother Zeus, grew more and more hateful towards Perseus.
Slowly but surely, Zeus started to turn Gods and Goddesses against Perseus. None ever spoke out against Perseus for they all knew what he was capable of. But they wanted a new King. They wanted Zeus as their ruler.
Today is the Winter Solstice. It is one of two days where any may challenge the King for his Throne.
Perseus' POV
I was in the middle of the Winter Solstice meeting. There wasn't much to talk about. There were no monster attacks, no Titans were even close to reforming. Most importantly, there was no sign of danger. But I may have spoken too soon, as usual.
Zeus stood from his throne and glared at me, hate and jealousy radiating from his eyes.
'Brother, it's time I take my rightful place as King Of The Olympian Gods!' Zeus boomed rather loudly.
I stared at my brother in sadness. Over the years, I tried to give him responsibility to see if he was worthy of being King, but he proved differently. Each time I told him to do something to prove he was worthy of the Throne, he would order someone else to do it.
'And who here would support you?' I asked as I looked around the room.
A few Olympians raised their hands. I was shocked to see Athena and Hestia being amongst those. I was not angry at Hestia though.
I knew that she was only doing it because she didn't want to see her family fighting. She looked at me, with great sorrow in her eyes.
I gave her a nod and a warm smile, letting her know I was not angry. I then turned to Zeus.
'I do not believe you are worthy of being King, little brother. But if you wish to challenge me for the Throne, then I accept' I said standing up.
Immediately the Council stood up ready to defend me. I just waved them away. 'No my dear friends. This is a matter of one challenging me. None of you are to interfere with me and my brother' I ordered.
Those that stayed at my side looked torn between defending their King and following my orders. In the end they chose to do as I commanded. The Council backed up, giving me and my brother enough space to fight.
'Today is the day that I rule brother' Zeus declared, baring his ThunderBolt at me.
I looked at him in sadness. He had such potential to be a good king, yet he ruins it all with his greed and lust for power. I drew my sword, Dark Abyss, and got in a ready stance.
'Your lust for power will be your undoing brother. We all know you cannot defeat me, yet you push yourself just for a throne' I said sadly.
Zeus glared at me. 'You dare threaten me? Not only am I your brother, but I am soon going to be your King, yet you dare THREATEN ME?' Zeus thundered, lunging at me.
A single tear rolled down my eyes. Here I am yet again, fighting my family. I blocked Zeus' strike, bringing up my foot and kicking him in the stomach, sending him crashing against his own throne.
'I would never threaten family. I only wanted to warn you because father was the same way. Always craving power, always lusting for more once he achieved power. I just don't want you to end up the same way' I replied, my heart breaking as Zeus stood up, his glare fixed upon me.
He charged at me, again and again. I defended each of his assaults, never giving ground. I was more emotionally hurt than anything else. Zeus never landed a single hit on me. At the same time, I never swung my sword against him, only using it to defend against his violent strikes.
Zeus was breathing heavily, sweat pouring from his face. His golden hair was drenched in sweat from his exertion. I looked at him in pity. I can't kill my brother. I refuse to kill another of my family. No matter how much Zeus hates me, I will not cause him harm.
In that moment I made up my mind. I will allow him to win. Maybe if he took the throne, he will calm down. I can only hope.
Zeus growled in rage and plunged his sword at me. I could have dodged it or reflected it with my sword, but this had to end.
I stood my ground, my sword at my side, and I watched as the sword drove straight into my chest, completely unopposed. I heard the entire Council gasp in shock. But I was looking at my brother.
'May you find peace my dear brother. Please forgive me for whatever reason it is you hate me so' I said in a whisper, as I fell to one knee.
Zeus looked shocked that he managed to kill me. The entire Council started crying, sobbing over the fact that a new king has been crowned.
My brothers Hades and Poseidon glared at their brother Zeus. I looked at my brothers in pain and sadness.
'Please, no more fighting. Family is supposed to stick together no matter what' I managed to say through the pain coursing through my body.
Hades and Poseidon rushed to my side, pained expressions on their faces. 'Brother please don't leave us' They yelled in a panicked tone.
I smiled at them. 'I believe I have taught you all how to rule properly' I told them, smiling warmly at them.
'And if you mess up, I will reform and be back to kick your asses!' I said laughing lightly.
Poseidon and Hades smiled sadly as the rest of the Council crowded around us. Hestia made her way to me and crouched over me.
'Brother I'm so sorry. Please don't leave us' She sobbed, tears streaming down her face.
I raised my hand and wiped away her tears. 'Sister, I can never be angry with you. I know why you sided with Zeus, I understand your reasons' I said to her, still in pain.
Apollo was trying and failing to heal my fatal wound. I gave him a smile and looked around at the Council I helped create and couldn't help but feel proud of them.
The last I saw before darkness surrounded me was my brother Zeus, looking ashamed and slightly jealous that even in death, all would still prefer me as their King. I gave him a sad smile.
'Remember what I told you brother' I whispered before darkness consumed me.
END OF CHAPTER 2
And that's the end of Perseus Jackson....NOT!!!! He's a Primordial God, he will reform sooner or later lol.
