Chapter Six: Is That Troy Burning?

Perseus' POV In the Persian Council's Throne Room.

I was deep in thought, looking for ways to ask Thetis out to a date when I heard someone yelling my name.

'Lord Perseus!' Anubis said out of breath.

I looked down from my throne. 'Yes, what is it Anubis?' I asked concerned.

Anubis took a deep breath before speaking. 'My lord, remember when you said to keep an ear open for news of Troy? Well we caught word that the Greek Army is gathering to set sail for Troy. The war is starting soon' He said, his breathing returning to normal.

I sat back against my throne, processing the new information. The only thing that came to mind was, is Achilles going? I sighed, I developed a soft spot for the energetic child. Mostly because I loved his mother but also because he is the opposite of my brother Zeus. Achilles is all fun and games but when things get serious, he takes everything serious, he doesn't boast or show off, he is kind to those he meets and respectful towards women.

He is everything I hoped my brother Zeus would be. I Pulled myself from my thoughts as I turned back to Anubis.

'Thank you for telling me. Let me know if you hear anything else. I'm going to see if Achilles is going with the Greeks' I said shrinking down to my normal height of 7ft.

Anubis wiggled his eyebrows. 'Is Achilles the ONLY one you want to go see?' He asked with a smirk on his face.

A blush materialized on my face as I glared at Anubis. 'Shut up!' I snapped.

Anubis just laughed as he flashed out before I could punish him. I growled mentally, nobody escapes punishment forever I mentally mused.

I flashed out to Achilles' Palace. All of the Myrmidon soldiers bowed respectfully to me. 'Please rise, can anyone tell me where Achilles is?' I asked.

One of the soldiers stepped forward. 'He is in his studies my lord' The soldier said respectfully.

I nodded. 'Thank you' I said and flashed to Achilles' Studies.

I opened the door and found Achilles hugging his mother Thetis, who was crying.

I cleared my throat. 'Im guessing you are going to Troy?' I asked.

Achilles and Thetis swirled around in shock, then realized it was me. 'Yes I'm going. It's my destiny to Burn Troy to the ground' Achilles said.

I sighed. 'I guess it was too much to hope that you wouldn't go' I said with a grin on my face.

Achilles laughed. 'Too right! Nobody can outrun fate' Achilles said wisely.

I nodded knowingly. 'You aren't wrong there child' I replied as I stepped closer and wrapped him in a hug.

'Be careful child. I know about the Prophecy about you dying out there. That's a fate I won't be accepting, so after you win, I'm making you a God' I whispered in his ear.

His eyes widened. 'You are? That would be so cool!' Achilles said jumping up and down.

I laughed at his childishness. 'What's cool?' Thetis asked curiously.

I turned my attention to her. 'I know about the Prophecy that says your son will die in Troy. I told him that I will be turning him into a God before he dies' I told Thetis who looked shocked.

She quickly ran and jumped in my arms, wrapping her arms around me. I blushed as I hugged her back. 'Thank you Perseus' She whispered.

Man, I love this girl, yet here she is in my arms making it rather difficult for me. I mentally sighed, curse my failing courage that just ran out the door!

'Your welcome Lady Thetis' I replied as I tried covering my blush.

Achilles seemed to have caught on because he gave me a knowing smirk, to which I sent him a glare that probably didn't look real intimidating since he burst out laughing.

Thetis swirled around. 'What's so funny?' She asked confused.

I mentally yelled YES, She didn't see my blush!

Achilles laughed even harder at her lack of knowledge. 'It's just- just- oh I can't say!' Achilles said in between fits of laughter.

Thetis looked at her son concerned. 'Are you alright son?' She asked.

Achilles instantly stopped laughing only to be replaced by my laughter. 'Yeah, ARE YOU ALRIGHT?' I asked in a mocked concerned voice.

He glared at me. 'It's not my fault you can't tell my mom!' He said.

I paled at his remark. Oh he is so going to pay! Thetis swirled around and looked at me questioningly. I backed away slowly.

'Hehe, I have *cough* no idea what*cough* he is talking about' I said, still backing up.

Unfortunately Thetis didn't give up. I gotta give it to Thetis, she sure is persistent. 'You are a horrible liar. Come on you can tell me anything Perseus' Thetis said, her beautiful eyes looking at me expectantly.

I swear my blush is getting worse as she kept looking at me intently.

'Yeah Perseus! You can tell her ANYTHING' Achilles said in a mocking tone and extra emphasis on 'anything'

I glared at him. 'You are so not helping!' I snapped angrily, then yelped in surprise as I tripped over something. I started falling backward and fell on my ass.

I cursed rather loudly in the language in Oblivion. Thankfully Thetis and Achilles don't understand that language.

'Dude I just learned so many new colorful words! Thank Perseus!' Achilles said looking cheery.

I rolled my eyes and went to stand up when a hand materialized in front of me. I looked up and saw Thetis with a small smile on her beautiful face. My own face instantly went red as I took her hand.

'Thanks' I mumbled.

'No problem at all. Can you tell me now?' She asked still as curious as ever.

Achilles face palmed. 'Just tell her you like her already!' Achilles shouted in annoyance.

My heart instantly stopped beating and I turned to glare at Achilles who already bolted out the door, leaving a thin trail of dust behind. I turned to look at Thetis who looked shocked.

The only thoughts running through my head were, I'm so screwed. I'm so going to kill Achilles for this! And a million different ideas on how to get my revenge on Achilles. I was snapped out of my evil thoughts when Thetis started blushing and she smiled at me.

She- wait she's blushing? And smiling? Is there someone behind me or something? I turned around to see if someone was behind me and found the room empty besides me and Thetis. Ok, nobody is behind me.

Thetis laughed softly. 'Nobody is behind you silly' She said smiling warmly at me.

My heart kick started and started beating in overdrive. Her smile is so mesmerizing. I was so captivated between her smile and those beautiful eyes of hers I didn't realize she moved closer to me until she leaned over and kissed me. She KISSED ME! I was dumbfounded for a whole minute, I didn't even know what to do.

After a moment, I gathered myself and kissed her back. I stepped closer to her and wrapped my arms around her lower back, pulling her closer to me. She moaned softly as the kiss deepened and her hands started playing with my hair.

Just as the kiss started to heat up, someone cleared their throat. 'Excuse me but can you two get a room? Well, another room that is because this is my room' Achilles said from the door.

Thetis and I pulled away, both blushing furiously. I glared at Achilles. 'You do know I'm going to get you back right?' I asked mischievously.

His eyes widened. 'What? But I did you a favor! You should be thanking me!' He said but one look from me made him run off.

Thetis giggled beside me. I turned my attention back to her as she wrapped her arms around me, giving me a kiss on he lips.

'I love you too' She whispered.

I smiled lovingly at her. 'I love you even more' I whispered back, earning a blush from Thetis.

I turned to the door when I heard someone sigh. 'Dude seriously, get ANOTHER room!' Achilles said, seeming to have gathered up his courage again.

I rolled my eyes. 'Whatever' I mumbled.

Thetis smiled. 'So your ok with us?' She asked.

Achilles laughed. 'With Perseus, of course, anybody else would meet my blade in the throat for even thinking about asking you out. But I'm totally NOT ok with you two making out in MY office!' He said in a serious voice at the end.

I laughed. 'Thanks Achilles' I said wrapping an arm around Thetis' back.

Achilles rolled his eyes. 'Besides, it does help knowing that you are my Role Model' He said laughing lightly.

I smirked as I walked past him. 'Oh and son, be careful when the war starts. If you die before I make you a God, I will bring you back to life and kill you again myself!' I said smirking at his reaction.

'Yes, dad' He said in a mocking tone.

Thetis and I laughed as we walked out of the room. I flashed us to the roof of Achilles' Palace and stared out into the city. I felt complete now, with Thetis by my side. I looked at her and found her staring at me, her beautiful ocean blue eyes locking with my own.

She smiled up at me. 'I never thought I would ever end up falling in love with the greatest man to ever live' She admitted, wrapping her arms around me.

I kissed her softly. 'Ever since I first laid eyes on you, I have had a crush on you. I always wanted to tell you, but every time I came and talked to you, I would get lost in those beautiful eyes of yours' I said smiling down at her.

She giggled. 'That's funny because every time you spaced off I always thought I was boring you' She replied feeling relieved.

I laughed. 'You are the opposite of boring to me. To me you mean everything. Every time you laugh, my heart would beat a million beats per second. Every time you would smile I would become paralyzed at your beauty. It was near impossible for me to speak to you without me slipping into some sort of trance' I said chuckling.

Thetis blushed furiously, only adding to her beauty. I leaned forward and kissed her. She immediately began kissing me back, our lips moving in synch with each other. Her figure seemed to fit perfectly to mine, almost like we were made for each other.

We broke apart gasping for air, both of us with smiles on our faces. 'You know this kinda makes you Queen of the Persian Gods right?' I asked grinning.

Her suddenly stiffened. 'What? I don't- I can't- I- what?' She asked dumbfounded, not making any sense.

I smiled. 'Don't worry my love. I will be beside you for all eternity' I whispered as I gave her a quick kiss.

She melted into the kiss and pulled away as a sigh of relief left her lips. She smiled up at me. 'As long as you are with me for all eternity, I'm fine with being Queen' She replied hugging me.

We stayed there for a long time, just the two of us sitting at the edge of the roof with out feet dangling over the edge. We talked the whole night, neither of us feeling tired. We Gods don't need sleep, we just do it when we are tired to recover our strength quickly.

We were so deep in conversation that we didn't notice the Myrmidon Army marching out with Achilles at the lead. We found out after they had set sail when Anubis flash over to us and gave us the report.

Thetis sighed in fear of loosing her son. I pulled her into a hug. 'Don't worry my love, I will watch over Achilles myself' I said to her in a soothing voice.

She breathed in deeply before pulling away and giving me a nod. 'Thank you Perseus' She whispered before giving me a kiss and flashing out.

I stood there and stared out into the horizon. 'So you two are finally together?' Anubis asked eagerly waiting for an answer.

I grinned. 'Yup, I admit Achilles did help out a bit' I replied with a smile as I thought of Achilles. That boy truly is something.

'Speaking of Achilles, I better go. I promised Thetis to look after him' I said, pulling a cloak around me and flashing away.

Third Person POV

Perseus kept true to his word, keeping watch over Achilles. For months, the war against Troy raged on, neither side gaining an advantage. Perseus silently killed a few mortals who almost attacked Achilles from behind. Perseus knew that their weapons couldn't kill Achilles but it sure would hurt him if they used enough strength.

At The Olympian Throne Room.

The Olympians were arguing over the war on Troy. Apollo was angry that a certain Son of Thetis was killing the Trojan soldiers left and right. Ares was impressed by his fighting skill as were many other Olympians.

Right now they were watching as a daughter of the Trojan King was captured by the Greeks. The young woman was being dragged off towards the king's tent. Artemis looked on in disgust and hatred as the rest watched on in sadness, well except Zeus who was looking mildly amused. All of a sudden, Achilles stepped in.

'What is this?' Achilles asked in disgust.

The two men who were dragging the woman stopped in their tracks and turned to face an angry King of the Myrmidons.

'We found this one sneaking about the temple. We are bringing her to the King as a war prize' One of the soldiers replied as they eyed the woman with greedy eyes.

Achilles glared at them. 'I don't think so. I believe she is my war prize' Achilles said, emphasizing my.

The soldiers drew their swords. 'Yeah right, we found her first' The soldiers said.

Achilles laughed. 'I don't think you heard me correctly. I said she is mine and I always get what I want' Achilles said dangerously, making several Olympians shudder in fear.

The two soldiers gulped but didn't back down. Greeks never give in to fear. They charged at Achilles, only to be cut down in a heartbeat by about of movement. The Gods stared in awe, shocked to see a mortal move so fast. Achilles stood over the men, blood dripping from his sword. Achilles stalked forward to the woman lying on the ground who was shaking uncontrollably in fear at Achilles.

He got down to a crouch. 'It's alright my lady, I am not here to hurt you' He said gently.

The woman didn't seem to believe him as she continued to shake in fear. Achilles picked up the small woman and ran to his tent when he heard voices walking towards him. The woman silently cried out in fear as she believed she was going to be raped.

She yelped in surprise when Achilles suddenly placed her gently on the ground. 'I told you I wouldn't harm you. I was raised by my mother and she would have my skin if she found out I disrespected a woman' Achilles explained as he turned around to wash his face in the water basin. The woman took that as her chance to grab a knife and stab Achilles in the ribs.

To the woman's surprise, the knife broke when it connected to Achilles' skin. The woman gasped in shock and fear when Achilles was unharmed and turned around to face her. 'You will never kill me, but I suggest you not try my patience. I may not kill or take advantage of you, but I can't say the same for the King, whom the soldiers were in the process of taking you to him' Achilles said calmly.

The woman's eyes opened in fear at the thought of being taken to the king. She was also surprised that Achilles didn't hurt her or took advantage of her for trying to kill him.

The Gods too were surprised as he just turned back around and continued washing his face. 'Im not keeping you hostage here, so I won't even try to chase after you if you run. However, once you leave my tent, you are on your own as I won't come to your aid when the King's men find you. But as long as you stay here, my guards and I will keep you safe and hidden from the King. That coward wouldn't dare enter my tent without permission' Achilles said in an even voice.

Artemis looked shocked that he was being nice to the woman instead of forcing himself upon her. She was shocked that he respected her and even protected her.

The woman stared at Achilles for several moments before speaking. 'Thank you my lord' She whispered bowing her head.

Achilles waved her off. 'Please, none of that kneeling and bowing crap. And please just call me Achilles. I'm not one of those stuck up arrogant Olympian Gods that demand that everyone kneel before them. I kneel to one God and one God only, and he is not an Olympian' Achilles said, earning many gasps from the Olympians.

'What does he mean he bows to a God that isn't an Olympian?' Zeus asked in anger.

Hestia and Artemis shared a look, each figuring out whom Achilles was speaking of. They did not say anything however, as they didn't want anyone else knowing that HE was back.

For the next few days, the Gods watched as Achilles grew closer and closer to the young woman. Apollo was already devising a plan on taking down Achilles while Zeus raged on about Achilles disrespecting them.

None of the Gods cared about that though. They were more interested in who Achilles spoke of when he said he only bowed to a God that wasn't an Olympian. Athena was taking this the hardest though, her curiosity reaching new heights as well as her frustration at not being able to figure it out.

Artemis and Hestia just smirked and chuckled at their clueless family. They both knew Achilles bowed to Perseus. They were also overjoyed to hear that Perseus and Thetis were together. Hestia broke into tears when her brother told her.

Meanwhile, the war on Troy stretched to years. For 4 years, the war raged on, neither side gaining an advantage. The Myrmidons fought with great ferocity, collecting the most kills and honor in the battlefield.

King Achilles quickly became the most feared General on the field, his Myrmidons charging into battle first and leaving last. The Greeks were soon losing the will to continue fighting as the war raged on. Many just wanted to return home. Athena seeing this, she quickly devised a plan that would surely prevail and bring victory to the Greeks.

Achilles' POV (Yay finally a POV change!)

We had just finished building a damn giant horse. I disliked this plan for there was no honor in it. But I can't argue that it is a genius plan, that is if the Trojans fall for it. The plan is to fit as many soldiers as possible into the Giant Horse while the rest of the Greeks would get on the ships and set sail back to Greece, only to turn around and hide behind the trees by a River.

Once the Trojans took the Horse into their city, we would wait until it was dark, then we would jump out of the horse and open the Gates, where the rest of the Greek Army would march in and the burning of Troy would begin. I of course, volunteered my Myrmidons to be the ones inside the Horse.

~~~~Time Skip~~~~
It was finally nightfall when all the Trojans went to sleep. They had been celebrating their 'victory' all day and let me tell you, it was quite annoying being stuck inside a damn horse all day when you want to go out and have a drink.
I opened the door and peeked outside to find the streets deserted. I jumped out of the horse and signaled my men that it was clear. In a matter of minutes, my men were all outside the horse awaiting my orders.
'All right, half of you will march to the Gates. We need those opened so that the Army can march inside unopposed. The rest of you are with me. We are marching directly towards the Palace' I commanded.
My men nodded and half of them marched off towards the gates while the other half followed me as I lead them to the Palace. None of my men made a sound so we were able to hear the city wake up when the loud greek army marched in screaming battle cries. I sighed, it would have been so much easier if they killed the Trojan soldiers in their sleep rather than wake them all up and fight them.
Some people are just plain stupid, I mused knowing who was responsible for this. It's obviously the damn king.
I shook off my thoughts as my men and I raced up the steps and inside the Palace. We found all of the Palace guards awake and in full alert so we had to fight our way through.
'Charge!' I growled as I unsheathed my sword and charged forward ahead of my men.
My men gave a battle cry and charged after me. I tore through the front ranks of the Trojan soldiers, hacking and slashing away. I slit the throat of a soldier in front of me and turned around to have a sword shatter when it crashed against my skin. I laughed and stabbed the Trojan through the heart.
I turned and kept fighting my way inside, my men right behind me as we drew a wedge in the enemy defenses. In a matter of minutes, all of the guards laid dead at our feet.
'Come on, let's go capture us a king!' I yelled and raced off to search for the royal family.
I spent maybe 30 minutes finding my way through the huge castle, it's halls like a damn labyrinth. I lost count of how many times I got lost. I was beginning to grow agitated when I found Briseis, the Trojan princess I fell I fell in love with.
'Briseis! Where is Priam?' I asked as I came to a halt in front of her.
She looked at me terrified for some reason. She started to cry and hugged me. I was no officially confused. 'Is everything ok?' I ask. This was a stupid question since I was here to kill her family and all but I didn't know what to say.
'No, you must leave here before it's too late. Please' She begged as she sobbed in my shoulder.
I chuckled lightly. 'I cannot leave. The war is finally about to finish. Only then shall I return home' I told her softly.
'Now tell me where Priam is and that coward Paris' I said growing anxious to drive my sword through that cowards trail body.
Briseis looked like she was debating wether or not to tell me. After a minute she sighed. 'They are in the King's Chambers. Please have mercy upon father' She begged.
I smiled. 'I have nothing against your father. It's Paris that I want' I said as I led her and my men to the King's Chambers. Well I was actually following Briseis since I had no idea where the Chamber was. After a few minutes of traveling through the maze of stairs and halls, we finally made it in front of Priam's Chamber door.
'Thanks' I whispered to Briseis before taking a deep breath and kicking the door down.
My men charged inside and tied down the Royal Family. I walked in a minute later and glared at Paris. This war is all his fault! He just had to capture a married woman.
'Please take me, just spare my family' Priam begged from his kneeling position.
My gaze turned to him. 'I have no quarrel with you, however your son Paris will die' I said in an even tone.
I then turned to a pale faced Paris and stabbed him with my sword. The light from his eyes faded away as the women in the room cried in shock and fear. Briseis herself was in tears, looking at Paris in sadness. I took her hands and kissed them. Her eyes found mine as she stopped shaking in fear.
She wrapped her arms around me and cried into my chest. I just held her as the room fell into silence.
'You ready to go my love?' I asked.
Briseis shook her head. 'I'm staying here with my family' She said softly.
I sighed. 'I knew you were going to say that. How about we take your family with us' I suggested.
Briseis' eyes brightened up. 'You would do that?' She asked.
I nodded. 'I'd do anything for you' I replied.
She hugged me tighter as Priam stood up shakily. 'Thank you Achilles. You have my eternal gratitude for sparing what's left of my family, even if you do this for Briseis' Priam spoke with relief in his tone.
My soldiers in the room and on the halls gave me a nod saying they were with me. I nodded in turn and we sped off towards gates.
'We are so going to get caught' I mumbled.
'We can use the Royal Escape Tunnels! We were headed there but your soldiers were killing everyone' Andromache, Hector's wife says.
I give her a nod. 'Where is it? I would rather like to avoid having to fight my way through Greek soldiers' I asked.
'This way' Priam said leading us towards a room that seems to be his private office.
Once in the office he pushes a shelf aside to reveal an entrance or in our case, an exit. 'Nice job Priam, now let's go!' I said.
My men went in first then the royal family. Andromache came last. I stopped her with a hand to her shoulder.
'Andromache, I need to apologize for what I did to Hector, your husband. He was an honorable soldier, but I let my rage get the better of me. I don't know if you will ever be able to forgive me, but I just wanted you to know that I regret doing those things' I said in a sincere voice.
Andromache looked at me curiously before sighing softly. 'Hector said that you fought with extraordinary honor and that you were the only one he respected. Hector died honorably, and I am honored to be have been his wife and to have his son' She paused for a moment as tears escaped her eyes.
She took a deep breath as she looked up into my eyes. 'I forgive you Achilles because when others would have seen me as a war prize, you took me and my family and are helping us escape. My husband spoke truly, you are an honorable man' She said softly before walking through the exit.
I stayed back for a moment to think more on what she said. I smiled and went to follow her when pain erupted in me.
I screamed in pain as I turned to see a Trojan archer aiming down at my heel. I saw Apollo there helping him and instantly my rage grew. I took out my sword and charged at the archer just as another arrow embedded itself on my chest.
Perseus' POV
I saw Achilles get shot by an arrow into his Heel and I lost it. I let out a blinding white light, making the archer shrivel and turn to dust. I then summoned godly energy and shot it at Apollo who was also blinded by my light.
Apollo took my beam directly in the chest and flew backwards, crashing through a wall. I then made a barrier around the room so nobody could see me and turned to Achilles.
'My son, I am here now. I always keep my promises' I said softly as the Persian Council flashed into the room. Thetis ran over to her son and hugged him as Achilles looked up at me and smiled.
'You called me son' He said, I gave him a smile.
'Of course I did. Now are you ready to become a God Achilles?' I asked.
He nodded in pain. The Persian Council began chanting as Achilles began to glow very brightly. When the glowing stopped and we stopped chanting, Achilles was 25ft tall and had a glow to his skin. He shrank down to human size and hugged me.
'Thanks father' He said pulling back.
I smiled. 'I will always be here for my son, even if we don't share the same blood' I replied.
Achilles then hugged Thetis, who had tears of joy running down her beautiful face.
'I love you so much, my son' She sobbed into his shoulder. She had been afraid that we would arrive too late.
'Achilles, here is your new weapon and symbol of power. Go and try it out on Apollo who is waking up now' I said grinning as I tossed Achilles his new sword.
Achilles caught it and grinned evilly. 'Yeah, that bastard dies now'
I made myself invisible as the rest of the Council did the same and dropped the barrier on the room. Achilles stood in the center of the room with his new sword at his side. I couldn't wait to see Apollo's face when he sees Achilles kick his ass.
I turned to see Apollo stand up with a shocked expression on his face. His eyes were wide and his jaw almost touched the ground! I would have laughed but I didn't want to give myself away.
'You dare to directly interfere in the affairs of mortals, Apollo?' Achilles asked tauntingly.
Apollo looked shocked and scared. 'How are you a God? The Olympian Council never agreed to making you a God!' Apollo demanded, his bow at the ready.
Achilles laughed. 'The Olympian Council are a bunch of overrated fools who believe they are the strongest beings in the world. How wrong they are, and it seems you will be the first to have a taste of the power of the Persian Council!' Achilles snarled before charging Apollo.
I smiled proudly at my soon to be son. He fought with great skill, pushing Apollo back. Achilles attacked with such speed that makes Hermes seem like he runs in slow motion. The battle lasted 5 minutes, and in those 5 minutes, Apollo lay on the ground, cuts and bruises all over his body and tons of Golden Ichor pouring out of his wounds.
He stared at Achilles in shock. 'This is not possible' He said in a pained voice.
Achilles stood over him, his sword at Apollo's throat. 'It is very possible Olympian Scum. Now go back to Olympus and tell them that a new Super Power has risen, and if they dare attack us, we will not hesitate to end their existence' Achilles growled in a menacing voice.
I sighed. I had wanted to keep the Persian Council secret but of course Achilles just blurted everything out. However I didn't mind, they don't know who we are or who is even in the Council. I could definitely have fun with that.
Apollo nodded in fear and flashed away, leaving me and the Persian Council Members grinning with pride.
'Good job my dear son! You did very well, now they will think twice before attacking you' I said proudly as I patted Achilles on the back.
Achilles grinned. 'Thanks dad' He replied.
With that we flashed away with the royal family. Troy burned that whole night, leaving everything in ashes.
