Watching it luge toward Oanez  was agony. Everything seemed to happen in slow motion. Until I realized time had been slowed down. Then I leapt into action. I'm still not sure how I managed to fight a giant wolf-like monster without any previous training, but somehow I managed to nock it off course while mid-air a few meters away from Oanez. Then with all the energy I could muster I used my powers to speed time back up and force the animal back into the woods. All three of us then ran away as fast as we could toward the open field in front of the school.

   As soon as we were far enough away from the forest we stopped running. "Th-thank y-you." Said Oanez in between pants. "No problem at a-all. But I have no idea how I did it" I said, slowly regaining the ability to breath normally. "We should probably find somewhere to sleep tonight." put in James "Preferably somewhere near water please. So I can protect us." "You know, it was me who saved us last time." I relied. " Which is exactly why it's my turn!" He shot back. Sure, I thought, whatever floats your boat.

   Soon enough we started heading reluctantly back into the forest, as we decided that there would be more coverage in the trees rather than out in the open field. Fortunately most of the streams were located in the forest and we found a nice one near a big tree with some low hanging branches where we hung our packs. Once we had a nice fire going (fire provided by yours truly), we had a bite to eat, unpacked our sleeping bags and went to sleep. right when I was starting to nod off, I heard some movement nearby. "Do you hear that James?" I asked. "Yeah, I'll go check it out." He said with a yawn. He crawled out of his sleeping bag and went to go check it out. A few moment later I heard a yell and someone fall into the stream.

Author's note: Sorry this chapter is so short! I'm having really bad writers block and I'm not feeling well. I'll try to write more tomorrow though!
