We stay like that for a while. Me sobbing onto his shirt and him crying into my hair.
After a while, we've both stopped crying and are just holding each other. We just realized how broken the other one was. So we hold each other and pretend, even if for a moment, that we're not.
My face is nuzzled into Jack's neck, one arm hanging around the back and the other laying on his chest. Both his arms are around me. I'm in his lap. His face is hiding in my hair.
We just hide from the outside world, from the scary reality. We hide from our broken souls, and shattered hearts. We hide from mirrors and memories. Most of all, we just hide from our past.
We hide until the calls from reality get too loud. Basically, we hide until my stomach growls. Then we have to stop hiding to get food. I curse my stomach in my head.
My face heats up as Jack lets out a laugh, brightening the room.
"You hungry?" Jack asks jokingly.
My stomach grumbles at him in response, almost as if it was on cue. My face turns even redder.
Jack's laugh gets a little louder. "Let's go get you some food then," he says as he gets up into a standing position, taking me with him.
He starts walking downstairs, the echo of his laugh still hanging in the walls. I just blush and hold his hand as I follow him.
He reaches the bottom of the stairs and quickly turns into the kitchen, my socked feet sliding through the doorway. He stops and turns around, making me bump into his chest. He grins down at me, happy.
"What do you want to eat?" He asks. "And no, lunch is not an option," he adds.
I glance at the time above the stove. 11:53.
"Well, what do you have?" I ask, feeling oddly giddy.
He doesn't even look. "Cereal and cereal," he says. I giggle at him in response.
"What kind of cereal?"
"Fruit Loops and Cap 'n Crunch," he responds with no hesitation. "Which one do you want?"
"I'm in a Cap 'n Crunch kinda mood," I say, grinning.
"Cap 'n Crunch it is then, my Queen," he declares, kneeling playfully at my feet. I shake my head a little and giggle at his antics.
"Why thank you, good sir," I respond in a fancy way, gesturing for him to stand.
Jack grins at me, happy that I went along with it. He turns and grabs a couple bowls from a cupboard.
"Can you grab a couple spoons?" He asks as he grabs the milk and cereal.
"Yeah, sure," I reply as I look around, ready to grab them, but I halt, confused.
Where are the spoons? Where is.... anything? I now realize that I have no idea where anything is placed.
"Cecelia?" Jack questions, turning to look at me. I'm standing in the middle of the kitchen, lost. He has a slight frown on his face.
"The spoons?" He asks. My face heats up, embarrassed. I look at him bashfully.
"I don't know where they are," I mumble, unwilling to have him hear a silly thing like that.
"What?" Jack asks. "I can't hear you, you're too quiet."
"I don't know where the spoons are!" I say loudly, shocking myself. I didn't mean to talk so loud. "Sorry," I whisper.
"Oh," Jack says, blinking. "Let me show you," he offers kindly. I nod my head in confirmation.
And so Jack shows me around the kitchen. He pulls open all the cupboards and drawers and told me where everything was at. Or supposed to be at. It was a little messy.
Once Jack finished showing me around, I give him a "thanks" and a kiss on the cheek that turned the tips of his ears red.
"No problem," Jack mutters in response. "You should know your way around the kitchen after all, right?"
"Yeah," I say, nodding my head faintly.
"Hey, question," Jack says, gaining my attention. I turn my head towards him.
"Hm?" I hum out in response.
"I was gonna film another Pokemon Go video, but..." He trails off, sadness creeping over his face.
"You need someone to hold the camera?" I ask, trying to guess what he was trying to say.
"Yeah," he says, nodding his head. "Would you?" He asks. "You don't have to, but it'd help a lot," he adds on.
"Of course," I shrug. "Seems like fun."
"Great," he grins. "Let me go get ready. We're leaving in 10," he says excitedly. He runs upstairs, the cereal forgotten.
"Ok," I laugh to myself. I quickly put away the bowls, spoons, cereal, and milk.
Glancing around to make sure everything is in place, I quickly run upstairs. I enter my room and quickly throw on some clothes.
I take a quick peek in the mirror, checking to see if I'm presentable. I don't know why it matters, but whatever.
I hear Jack knock on my door.
"Come on," Jack whines. "Hurry up, I wanna go."
I laugh at his childlessness. I open the door and take the camcorder from Jack's hands.
I walk to the stairs. "Come on, Jack, what's taking you so long?" I joke, throwing him a smile.
He grins back and pulls me downstairs, and out the door.

We walk in the door, red faced, our hands entwined. Jack made us run the whole way (He returned the rental car).
"Jack. Why. Did you. Make us. Run. The whole way?" I gasp out, out of breath.
Jack laughs and gently guides me to the couch, sitting both of us down.
"Cause it was easy," he says, grinning.
"Then why are you so out of breath? And why did you stop halfway?" I ask him.
He opens his mouth, and realizes he has no great sarcastic comeback.
"You looked like you needed a break," he mutters, trying to redeem himself.
"No I didn't," I reply immediately.
"Yeah, you did."
"No, I didn't. I was doing fine," I argue.
"Sure you were," he says. "Sure you were. Whatever helps you sleep at night, sweetheart." He looks into my eyes, grinning.
I grin. He just called me sweetheart.
"What?" Jack asks, giving me a weird look.
"Nothing," I reply, sending him an innocent smile.
He just shakes his head a little and brings his lips to mine.
