Jaemin stares at the whiteboard blankly. Their teacher was droning on about some test that was coming up, but the honey-haired boy couldn't care less. He sighs for the nth time, he just wanted the class to end. He blinks when a piece of paper lands on his desk.
I hear Mr. Kim and Mrs. Lee are dating ;)
- Mark
Jaemin raises an eyebrow and looks at his friend, who's sitting at the other side of the room. He grabs a pencil and begins writing something right under Mark's note.
Which Mr. Kim and Mrs. Lee?
He watches the teacher carefully, and when the adult has his back turned, Jaemin tosses the paper ball back across the classroom. Jaemin whispers a 'Yes!' when he sees it landed perfectly in front of Mark. He waits a moment before the paper flies back to him.
Kim Yootae, the math teacher. And Chaeji Lee, our Biology teacher.
Jaemin's eyes widen as he tries to stifle a laugh. "Seriously?" He whispers to himself before turning to Mark. His friend gestures to the teacher from across the room, signaling to Jaemin that he needs to hide the paper. Quickly, Jaemin stuffs the paper under his desk, all the while trying not to laugh.

"No Jisung, look at the problem carefully. Is this 15 really supposed to be a negative?" Jaemin points to the equation on the paper, raising a brow at the confused boy.
"Well, I don't know hyung..."
Jaemin sighs and sits back. "Jisung, look carefully at the starting equation. Jisung squints at the paper before exclaiming an 'Oh my god I'm so dumb!' He quickly corrects the equation. Jaemin nods. "There ya go. You have to be careful with negatives and positives, one wrong move can mess up the whole problem. Come on now, let's move onto history. I need to make sure you understand the Cold War before I can go to work."
Jisung whines. "Ugh, ~~ I hate history."
"So do I, but your teachers don't care. Come on, take out your textbook. Chop chop child." Jaemin claps his hands, resulting in Jisung glaring at him.
"I like you better as a friend than as a tutor," Jisung grumbles quietly. Jaemin only laughs softly.

Doyoung pokes his head into the living room, getting his two brother's attention. "Guys, sis has something to say. Come on in to the kitchen." Jeno and Jaehyun look at each other, confusion written on their faces. Nonetheless, they stand and follow their eldest brother to the kitchen where Sooyun sits with a toddler in her lap.
Jeno smiles happily. "Chan!" He looks to his sister for permission to pick his nephew up. She smiles and hands the 4-year-old to the black-haired boy.
"Well boys, I have some news for you." Sooyun starts. "I think you all should sit down first." She sighs. "As you know, my husband has been busy these past 6 months with business trips, most taking place in Japan. But, as it turns out..." Sooyun begins to choke up, tears stinging her eyes. "It turns out he's been having an international affair with a woman he met in Japan. I found out two days ago..." She looks at her brothers, tears streaming down her face. "I loved him, and I thought he loved me too. I guess it wasn't enough for him. I guess a family with me wasn't what he wanted." She cups her son's face and caresses his cheek.
Jaehyun clenches his fists. "That fucking bastard-"
"Jaehyun," Doyoung puts his arm over his brother's chest. "Not now." He turns to his sister, bringing her into a tight hug. "I'm sorry noona, you don't deserve that."
"I just...I don't know how I'm going to tell Chan..." She looks back to her son who is still sitting in Jeno's lap. "He's always admired his father...But now, he won't have a father figure in the house." Jeno raises a brow, giving a side hug to his sister. "He's decided to stay in Japan with his mistress. Or girlfriend now, I guess."
"What a dick."
Sooyun laughs at Jeno's bluntness. "Yeah, that's one way to put it."
"Noona," Jaehyun sits at the kitchen table. "How did you find out?"
Doyoung whips his head around. "Jaehyun this isn't-"
"It's alright." Sooyun puts a hand on her brother's shoulder, calming him down. "One of his coworkers, who is a good friend of mine, called me to ask if I was with my husband in Japan. I told her no, and she got really confused. Apparently she saw my husband out with his girlfriend at a restaurant and his coworker thought it was me."
"God.." Jeno groans, and pets Chan's head.
"I called him about his girlfriend. He didn't even try to lie. He just said that he loved her and wouldn't be coming back to Korea, at least not to me or Chan. He kicked me out of the apartment, saying he was selling it. So now I'll be here until I find another living space." She wipes her tears with her sleeve. Her sniffles fill the room, wrapping the gloomy silence in a sad hug.
Jaehyun leans across the table with a tissue box, handing it to Sooyun silently. The four siblings (+Chan) sit in the kitchen silently. The three brothers holding their eldest sister close. They wouldn't let anyone else hurt their precious Sooyun.

Jeno sighs softly as he watches his nephew play in the front yard. The sun was slowly setting, and he was on duty to watch Chan while his siblings talked with his parents.
"Uncle Nono!" The toddler runs to his young uncle, smiling happily. "Look what I find!"
Jeno reaches out his arms, catching the 4-year-old in a back hug. "What'd you find Chan?" He looks over his nephew's shoulder, trying to see what the boy had in his hands.
"I found a funny rock." Chan holds it up to show his uncle. The toddler was right, it was a very funny looking rock. It was sticking out in random lumps, but the surface was smooth.
"That's a really interesting rock, Chan. Are you going to keep it?"
"Mhm, I'm going to show mommy." He smiles widely.
"Jeno, I didn't know you were a dad." A voice says, clearly confused.
Jeno looks up to find Jaemin pitched on his bike at the end of the driveway. He stands, holding Chan upon his hips as he walks down to meet his friend. "I'm not. This is my sister's son."
"Ah.." Jaemin turns to the toddler, smiling softly.
"Who is you?" Chan looks at Jeno and points at Jaemin. "Uncle Nono, who is that?"
Jeno smiles, his eyes turning into crescents. "That's my friend, Na Jaemin."
Chan nods, turning back to the boy on the bike. "Uncle Nana, look what rock I find!" He holds his hands up to his new "uncle". Jaemin laughs and inspects the rock, raising a brow at its strange shape.
"I wouldn't have taken you to like kids Jaemin," Jeno says after a moment.
Jaemin hums and looks back at his friend. He smiles. "Yeah...I love kids actually. I mean kids fricken love me, they're so adorable too." He got off his bike fully, so he was standing straight up.
Chan laughs and reaches up to pat Jeno's head. "Uncle Nono! Uncle Nana is taller than you. You are tiny, like baby!" Jeno rolls his eyes and grumbles in pretend anger; making both Chan and Jaemin laugh.
Jeno sits Chan on the grass and sits behind him. Jaemin squats in front of the two. "What are you doing out here Jaemin?"
"I was hanging out with Chenle. I just left his house when I saw you." The honey-haired boy responds, his eyes and hands still focused on playing with the rock. He and Chan were examining it and comparing it to other rocks. Jeno nods in understanding, silently watching the two. It looked so natural for Jaemin to be around kids. He knew what to say, how to act, and what to do whenever it was needed. His soft smile and his twinkly eyes as he watched the toddler was a face that Jeno knew he would want to see over and over again.
"Jeno! Chan! Come back in, Chan needs to head to bed." Jaemin looks up to find a young woman, no older than 27, walking down the driveway. She smiles at him. "Hello, I'm assuming you're a friend of Jeno?"
"Yeah, I'm Na Jaemin." He bows slightly.
"Ah good," She pats Jeno's head playfully. "I was worried Renjun was his only friend."
"Oh my god noona shut up." Jeno sighs.
The woman, who Jaemin assumed was Jeno's sister, laughs. "I'm sorry about him Jaemin, he's a very moody teenager. Anyways," She looks at Chan. "You, little man, need to get ready for bed. Come on now."
"Momma, I found a funny rock!" he says as he and his mother walk back up the driveway. Their voices eventually fade out as they enter the house.
"He's really cute."
"Chan?"
Jaemin nods. "Yeah. Well," he breaks the silence and hops back on his bike. "I should get going. I have dance practice soon."
Jeno raises a brow, crossing his arms in a relaxing manner. "You still have practice? It's past sundown though."
Jaemin shrugs. "A dancer never sleeps. Bye, uncle Nono!" He pedals off, laughing at Jeno's blushing face.
"Shut up!" But Jaemin was already around the corner.
Jeno sighs and makes his way back into the house to find his brothers and sister looking at him expectantly.
He raises a brow. "What?"
"So Jaemin huh?"
"It's not like that!"
