My Necklace Is Actually A Bow

Anthony lunged at the beast and lashed out with the elongated pocket knife. I fingered the pendant of my crescent moon necklace. It was a gift from Anthony, and he had said that it was magical. I had thought it was just mumbo jumbo, but now I wasn't so sure.

Artemis lashed out with a long wire, and the wire wrapped around the boar's neck, choking it slightly. I carefully, slowly unclasped my necklace and looked at it. It gleamed with an enchanted touch. Experimentally, I twirled it on my finger.

The necklace morphed into a beautiful silver bow, and I felt a quiver appear on my back. I was the best archer in my school, so I felt it was really special for Anthony to give me a gift like this.

The boar shook itself, unraveling the wire. It's bristly hide deflected Anthony's sword.

I slowly nocked an arrow, taking my aim for the beast's eye.

He turned and looked at me, anger flickering in his gaze, scaring me and making my hands shake. Anthony looked at me in shock, then nodding solemnly.

I took my aim again, this time at the thing's mouth. He glared harder, but I instead focused on my boyfriend. His reddish hair. His brown eyes. The slight stubble coming in on his chin. The scar on the bridge of his nose.

The pig screeched. I glanced at my aim, then clamped my eyes shut tight, and loosed my arrow.

"SCREEEEE"

A sound emitted from before me, and I opened my eyes. The pig lay dead on the ground, a silver arrow lodged in his gob, slowly disintegrating into golden dust.

"Lanta... how did you know that the necklace changed?" Anthony asked me, obviously amazed.

"I just... kinda guessed." I replied. "You did tell me it was magic."

He nodded and poked at the dust left by the monster apprehensively. I stared at the bow in my hand. The gorgeous craftmanship of it dazzled me. I looked at the arrows and saw vine designs carved into the shafts. I whistled quietly in astonishment.

"How'd you get this?"

"Forgeries at camp."

I quirked an eyebrow. "Forgeries? Camp?"

He sighed. "Right, you've never been. Come on. I'll explain on the way."

A/N: I'm sorry it's so short, I'm having a bit of writer's block right now. I'll pick it up later, but for now, I'll upload a few short stories somewhere. Have a wonderful day!
