Well I'm certainly not alone any more.

Let me explain, after a few deep breaths I got up my nerve and bought a ticket. Alot of people had cards they swiped, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

I took one look at the tube map and just about died. I had no idea just how far off I was, all the main tourist places are about an hour's drive away!

I must have been there awhile, trying to decide where to go when a couple guys, about mid twenties, came up and with pure British accents, insisted to help and that they could show me all the sights every tourist should see. I automatically went in panic mode and kindly turned them down. One of them, with blue highlights, started to take my hand when another guy stepped up behind him.

I'll try to recall what was said.

"Are you daft? She said no."

"Buzz off you!"

"I see someone is turning American."

The guys didn't have much to say and they left in a huff. The guy who stepped in aplogized for those two. Said he would have "pasted" them if they hadn't left.

He introduced himself as Blake and told me that the tube has a few ones like those two who trick and steal from tourists.

I asked, "How do you know I'm a tourist." Would you believe he laughed. I was about to walk off when he said "Don't get your knickers in a twist" and he offered to be my guide.

Well long story short, here we are in line to board the tube. He again laughed when I told him I didn't have an Oyster card and said,

"You are going to have a right smashing time mate!"

The tube is coming!
