I sat on my shelf. I had just been made and was brought to the store only hours ago. Right now I was waiting for whatever a little person, or a big person, would write in me. Stories? Or maybe they would use me as a sketchbook? Or just write how they were feeling. I don't care!

"Mommy! Daddy! This book is so pretty!" There was a small voice coming from a small human that was in front of my shelf. "Can I have it?"

A different human spoke, "That's a diary, sweetie, it's usually for girls," they said.

A different human that sounded a lot different spoke next, "Nothing has gender unless it's biological, love. You can have the diary, Jamie."

I was excited for the first time. A human wanted me!

The first bigger sounding human said something, "That one is really thick, it'll take a while to fill it."

"But Mommy! That means I will have it for a long long long time!" The little boy said, Jamie?

"Exactly," the big one who wasn't Mommy said.

"Thanks Daddy!"

I was bought and taken home. Jamie took me into a room and onto a desk.  I was opened and suddenly a bright light came and I could see! The room was blue and purple, and the little boy was looking at me in wonder. "So I can fill you with whatever I want?" He asked.

I couldn't respond but internally I was shaking with excitement.

Jamie grabbed a pencil and started writing. And I knew what he was writing. Hi I'm Jamie and I am 4̸ 5 years old. I am in kindrgarten and I love to draw and paint and read and use glu and paper to mak things! I really like glue! It makes a mess tho and this is to prety to mak a mess so no glu for you! He stopped writing and ran out of his room, happily, after a few minutes he came in again and wrote 12/4/2006. Then I was shut again and Jamie ran out again. But I didn't see it so I just waited to be opened again.

This is surprisingly not a Fanfiction, but the rest of the story may have some triggering topics but because of how often I get writers block we may not get to that part by the end of 2022. 399 words.
