Chapter Two; The Tragedy
Chapter Two; The Tragedy
That was our first day of being a sophomore, I didn't like the fact about going to a public school but Zaine convinced me to go. Lucky for me that Zaine and I have the same classes together. Yay! He was my only friend, the best friend I could ever ask for. I just wish I could be stronger so I don't have to rely on him all of the time.
We sat next to each other in English, its only our first day and the teacher is scolding someone, for just being a little late.
Zaine whispered, “Hey Alice.”
“Yes?” I replied with a little smile. He always made me smile, even when i'm down he still manages to make it happen.
“Wanna ditch? Since it looks like Tubby McFat Fuck other there isn't going to shut up.”
I laughed. “Yes, please.”
We stood up and pushed in our chairs, and the teacher didn't even seem to notice. When we started walking everyone was staring at us. The girls in there gave me a look of hate. I don't even know who they were. Some were probably also staring at me because of my eye patch, when that rock got thrown at my eye. But, from what I heard, when Zaine was in middle school so many girls tried to ask him out, or get close to him but he always turned them down... I wonder why.
We stood in the middle of the hallway wondering what to do.
“Hey, want to go to the vending machines?” Zaine asked.
“Hell yeah!” I busted out. “I want some food!” We sped walked towards the vending machines. I always had a big appetite.
When we got to the machines, I gazed at the food selection, I didn't know what to choose. Zaine took out his wallet and pulled out a crisp dollar with a little change and fed it into the machine. He bought a bag of pretzels and shoved them in my face.
“Here, you're eating these. You always take so long to decide.” Zaine said with his cute smile.
I opened the bag and slowly started eating the pretzels. We sat in between the two vending machines, the one filled with food and the soda machine. We were snuggled up right against each other, it made my heart race.
We heard a group of people giggle, they were probably around the corner, looks like we aren't the only troublemakers. Out of curiousity I peeked my head a little out to see who they were, just three boys. One was taller than the other two; he had dark brown hair and matching eye, and a devious smile. I didn't bother looking at the other people- the tall person had my full attention.
period. Boring! All everybody did the entire period was talk, including me The only one I talked to was Zaine.
RING, RING, RING.
School ended at last, it felt like I've been there for years. When the final bell ringed everyone just ran out of the classroom, including the damned teacher. Except for my and Zaine, we actually took time to pack our bags and stuff.
“Hey, Alice... there's something I want to ask you.” Zaine mumbled.
“What? Why are you mumbling?” I asked.
“Well you Alice... I-” Kevin and his gang busted through.
“Yo, yo, yo! What's up!? Jake yelled. I turned immediately pissed off, so did Zaine.
“What do you want” I hissed, it scared the crap out of me when I said that but I liked it.
Kevin looked surprised by me, that devilish smile of his came back with a hypnotizing gaze. His eyes stared straight at me but looked inside of me, I felt so uncomfortable. He started to walk over until Zaine stepped in his way.
“Didn't you learn your lesson last time?” Zaine spat at Kevin. Kevin waved his hand gently in the air and both Jake and Justin tackled Zaine to the ground, I yelped a little.
Kevin continued to walk towards me, with the same smile and glare, that gaze wouldn't let me move, I was frozen solid, my legs trembling in fear. Once he got little less than five inches of me, I backed up against the wall but that wasn't far at all. He got as close as he could possibly be, I couldn't breathe. My heart pounded and pounded, I thought I was going to vomit. Kevin leaned his left hand on the wall around my head and rested it there.
“Oh my, you've grown since we last seen each other.” Kevin whispered staring up and down my body. He grabbed my chin with the hand he wasn't using and made me face him.
“God damn, you're so gorgeous.” he whispered again, it didn't sound like Kevin anymore, it seemed like it was someone else. He pulled my face closer to his as he leaned in, closing his eyes.
I screamed in hope that someone would hear me, but it really didn't matter. They locked the doors. I pushed Kevin away from me, he backed away some, almost fell but caught himself with the teachers desk that was next to us. He stood up staring at the desk looking for something. He stretched his arm out and snatched up a pair of scissors that were lying on the desk. As soon as he grabbed the scissors he jolted toward me. His free hand grabbed a chunk of my hair and slammed my head against a wall.
“You know, you would look even more pretty with shorter hair.” He said quietly but with a twisted grin on his face and eyes wide, filled with madness.
He took the scissors to my hair and began chopping it off, chunk by chunk. I want to scream and cry, call out for someone to save me but all I did was whimper I could hear Zaine screaming in the background but everything seemed so far away in the distance. I couldn't understand him.
punches just trying to keep him away from me. Kevin found an opening and quickly pressed his arm against my neck and trying to continue with what he was doing.
“Bastard! I'm going to kill you!” Zaine screamed. I heard small hits, he did to get Jake and Justin off of him.
A shadow approached me and Kevin, it was Zaine. He ran towards us trying to save me, even though I was terrified.. I was so happy. Kevin turned his entire upper body and then everyone froze.
Zaine gasped for air, and fell down to his side, with the scissors in his stomach. Blood poured out of him. My heard stopped, I stopped breathing, my eyes were a waterfall as they widened.
“Zaine..?” I mumbled. “Zaine!”
I pushed away Kevin, accidentally pushing him into the desk, he hit his head at the edge of the corner. I sat next to Zaine staring at his wound. I didn't know what to do, I knew he wasn't going to make it. I took the scissors out of him letting out my uncontrollable cry. He gasped when I pulled it out. I slowly stood up with the scissors in my hand, I turned to the first person I saw. Jake.
I walked, no stumbled, towards Jake. I glared down at him with pity and hatred. They all deserved to die, every one of them. My eyes no longer had life in them, only death.
I sat next to Zaine, his head lying on top of my lap. My tears fell onto his face, I tried to wipe them off but there was no point, more kept appearing. People banged against the doors but they wouldn't open. Three bodies were on the floor, all dead. Kevin, Jake, and Justin were all dead now. I killed them, I was covered in blood, their blood. Their bodies were stabbed and cut everywhere.
“I'm sorry,” I choked out. “I'm so sorry.”
Zaine smiled and raised his hand to touch my face. “I love you.”
I cried even harder. “I love you too.”
I grabbed a lighter, it was Jakes. I lit it and tossed it against the floor, setting the entire classroom on fire. It spread around pretty quickly but grew slowly, well slowly for me. I began to sing. A little song I memorized from the anime Hell Girl.
Children of seven waking smile at the sun, why do lovely blossoms bloom in the mountain range? Children of seven laughing run through the woods, why do the village branches dance for the village free. Children of seven singing caught down the wind, why do cherry blossoms fall from the cherry tree? Children of seven dying to lake once more.
At that last sentence a giant flame engulfed Kevin's body, the flame was tall enough to be a person. The fire went out and a dark shadow appeared.
“You must pay for your sin.” A deep voice appeared, it came from the shadow figure.
“Wh-what do you mean?”
“You killed them,” he pointed out the bodies. “You must repay for this.”
“Why?! They all deserved to die! They killed Zaine!” I screamed and whimpered at the same time.
“No, Zaine killed himself. It was an accident that he fell into the blades.”
I stared down at Zaine and the stared back up at the figure. “What do you want?”
“You are to be my servant for all of eternity, or his soul will rot in Hell forever tormented.” The figure reached out his hand to me. I put Zaines head softly on the floor, kissing him on the lips.
“I love you.” I said once more. I stood up and walked over to the figure, but Zaine grabbed my ankle.
“W-wait!” he coughed up blood. “Please God, replace her right eye with mine.” God? I knew this was no God. I don't even know if God exists anymore in this world. But for Zaine I will pretend that the figure is.
“Very well.” The figures hand began to glow, he opened it up a little and it was Zaines eye.
I was in shock, how was the even possible. I easily calmed down and thought to myself, well how is anything possible now. The figure closed up his hand and the glow went away.
The right side of my face started pounding, my empty eye socket started filling up. Could it be possible that I'm really getting Zaines eye? I ripped off my eye patch, staring at my hands. I couldn't believe it. I could see out of both of my eyes.
I looked back up at the figure and asked, “Who are you?”
He reached out his hand and I took it.
“The Devil.”
Kevin finished cutting off my hair, it was up to my shoulders now, actually a little bit shorter than that. I fell to my knees, not knowing how to react, all I could do was stare at the off pieces of hair. Kevin kneeled down so we were the same head level. He slowly put the scissors close to my chest, trying to cut off my shirt. That's when I exploded, I screamed and cried, throwing random
They walked past us and one short guy with blonde hair noticed me and Zaine sitting in between
