Ten (Theo/Damien)
My head aches like a bad hangover as I begin to wake up. I realize I hear my father's voice in the hallway, and I'm back in my room. It was my room, but it felt so foreign, like a prison after being so free for so long. They must have drugged me in the transport van. I make my way to my bedroom door to eavesdrop on my father's conversation.
"We, The Eye, have a responsibility to report this sort of thing," an unfamiliar voice said.
"I don't care; keep it under wraps," my father replied.
"Not going to happen; he is dangerous. He killed five of our men with ease. They bled out from the inside and suffered a long and terrible death."
"David, listen. I heard you and your wife just had a child. You wouldn't want to ruin that now, would you? I can have you and your family dead in seconds, so you're gonna leave and keep your mouth shut or die after watching me slaughter your family," my father threatened.
"Fine, asshole," the man replied. I heard him walk off.
I hear my father moving toward my room. I run for my window; it's a two-story drop, but I can't risk it. I smash the window with my desk chair.
"Theo, stop," my father says after bursting through my bedroom door.
An alarm begins to sound, and I jump down, falling awkwardly. I try to regain my balance. Before I can get ahold of myself, I'm surrounded, and a guard kicks me right in the head. Everything goes black.
**Switch To Damien POV**
I can't believe I'm in a damn prison for a crime I did not commit. I was put in the common area until they gave me a room assignment. They mixed all entities in here, which surprised me; this is the first time I have ever seen so many entities all together. It was clear, though, that some groups didn't want to deal with other entities - a group of angels off to the side. It was ironic to me that they even had angels in jail; likely acts of war are why they were here.
I begin to notice many inmates looking at me, and I knew I was going to have a problem here sooner or later. I ignore it and continue to sit, hands in my lap, fearing what had happened to Theo. I should have fought harder; Theo killed five or so of them, and I was taken and did nothing. I still hear the echo in my head from him saying he loves me.
"Hey, newbie, what did you do to end up here?" a woman says, sitting next to me. She looked young.
Her skin was peppered with red, glowing freckles; she was another demon. I did not recognize her, though she looked young. Maybe she was born on Earth. She seemed nice, not fearful of anything. She looked like one of those who, if you were nice to, she would be an angel, and if you pissed her off, well, she would give you hell.
"I fell in love with the wrong boy."
"Oh? Who is this boy who cost you your freedom?"
"Theo Crest."
"No fucking way, him of all humans? God damn, you did fuck up! Well, I'm sure it's a good story; you'll have to tell me later. But right now, looks like you may have some enemies in here, so why don't you come join me and my friends at our table so the other inmates won't mess with you," she replies.
"Okay, I'm in. What's your name, by the way?" I ask.
"Just call me Luna."
"Nice to meet you, I'm-"
"I know who you are, Damien Morningstar; everyone does."
"Come on, hurry, let's get to the table. We only get so much time out here a day, and I wanna play some poker before we're back in the cells," Luna says.
I proceed to follow her, receiving glares from inmates at tables we walk by. I wonder what I had done wrong to upset so many people. Maybe it's not me they are mad at; they might just be mad at my father. A lot of them probably worked for him at one point. They would never arrest my dad though, in fear of starting another war.
"Luna, why the hell are you always bringing over strays?" some guy said as we took a seat at a table.
"Shut your mouth, Oni."
I recognized Oni and a few others at the table from gatherings my father held in hell. I didn't interact with the others much. Suddenly, they all groaned as Luna cheered; she won. I guess I was never into gambling and never bothered to learn.
"Okay, hand it over, boys," Luna said.
I watched as Luna collected things like cigarettes and a Playboy magazine-items I assumed were contraband and not easy to get. A guard suddenly approached, his hand gripping tight onto his pistol. Luna shuffled to hide everything she won.
"Damien, your cell is in Building A, bunk 17. I'm sure one of your friends here can show you the way," the guard said and swiftly walked away.
Everyone at the table looked at me in shock.
"What?" I questioned.
"Building A is reserved for the most dangerous or high-value inmates. It's not a good place to be," Luna said.
"I'll be fine. Mind showing me the way though?"
Luna nods, her expression determined, and she leads me down a dimly-lit cement walkway, passing several other towering buildings.
"Okay, here we are. Listen, keep your head down in there, and you'll be fine. If anyone gives you trouble, you let us know."
I nod, making my way to the entrance. A guard takes my arm and walks me over to my cell. The room was small, only one bed. I was in solitary, but that might be for the best in here. I could hear the shouting and pounding on the walls; this place was awful, reminded me of hell. I could hear some of the guards beating a guy who was yelling.
I'm so screwed right now. I better get out of here; I better have a good lawyer for my court hearing.
**Switch To Theo POV**
I begin to wake up, feeling the pain from the kick that knocked me out. The room I'm in is dimly lit; I don't recognize it. It's cold, like we're underground, with walls made of concrete. I only have a bed, a bathroom, a sink, and that's it. I quickly notice the glass and my dad standing on the other side of it. I'm locked in here; that asshole really meant what he said, that he would lock me away if I followed his path in any way.
"Good, you're awake. We should talk, Theo. What were you thinking? Why would you try and leave? You caused quite a mess killing those guards," my father said.
"I caused a mess? You experimented on me and never told me I was a hybrid entity."
"How could I have told you that? Look on the bright side, you'll live alongside me forever. Isn't that a good thing?"
"You asshole. Let me guess, I'll also fuel your never-ending life with my blood and spinal fluid."
"Yes, you will actually."
"I won't do anything for you until I see Damien. Where is he?"
"As you know, we had to have a fall guy for all this stuff that happened to protect you. So Damien is in jail; his court hearing is in two days."
"I want to go to his hearing."
"Not a chance."
I began to fuel with anger and felt power rush through me. I moved closer to the glass and pulled my dad to me. I choked him, and he began to float mid-air. A strange force took over me, one that didn't feel like me at all.
"Listen, you inferior fraud. I am a living god. You will do as I ask and bow down to me, or I will ensure your life ends early. Open the door now, or die," I said, my voice having a deep, echoing undertone that was foreign to me.
I set him down and watched as he made his way to the pin pad. He swiftly turned and attempted to run. I quickly pulled him back.
"You forget the words I have said. Have you misheard me, or are you too dumb to understand?"
I dropped him again, nodding towards the pin pad. This time, I heard the beep of the numbers and knew he was actually putting the pin in. The doors slid open, and I walked out.
"Theo, stop," my dad said.
I moved him into the cell using just my abilities; the door sealed shut. As I exited the room and climbed up the stairs, I ignored his screaming. I opened the sliding door to find myself in the middle of the Mansion library; he hid the room behind a bookcase. I wondered what other secrets my father had within the mansion. I should use this time to find everything I can. I needed help, though; this place was massive. I made my way to the kitchen where the house phone was.
I select Olivia's contact. "Hey Olivia, I hope you're okay. I'm home now. Do you mind coming over so we can catch up?"
"Say less. On my way now."
**Time Jump 1 hour**
"Wait, so you're telling me you were kidnapped, you're mostly not human, you have your dad locked up in the basement, and you have a demon boyfriend," Olivia said.
"Yeah, I know it's a lot, but listen, I'm still your friend and I need your help. Always. Screw the Accords and screw The Eye. I'm going to tear all of it down," I said.
"Okay, where do we start?" Olivia replied.
I smiled, grateful that she was always by my side.
"My dad. I need to find out when Damien's court date is."
We headed down to the basement with food and water. I approached the glass to see my dad pacing back and forth.
"Tell me when Damien's court date is, and you get food privileges."
"No."
"Have you forgotten who I am? Tell me now!"
"I'm dead anyways without an injection in the next 24 hours, so threats won't work."
"Fine. I'll get you an injection, granted you have to tell me where you keep them and you tell me when the court hearing is."
"Two days from now, 11 AM, the courthouse downtown near here."
Olivia makes a look and leans in close to my ear, facing away from my dad. "How do we know he's not lying?"
I nod. She has a valid point; I'll have to double-check.
I approach the glass and enter my father's thoughts.
"Tell me again, where and when is the court date? The truth," I demand.
"One day from now, 7 AM, the courthouse downtown."
He is now telling the truth.
"Where is your injection?"
"In my office, the one on the 2nd floor."
Me and Olivia make our exit from the basement. My father suddenly begins to laugh.
I turn and say, "What?"
"I just raised you too well, didn't I? You are just so much more impressive than I thought."
Me and Olivia leave the basement. I'm grossed out that this amuses him I am praying for his downfall but I don't think I will have to do much for his downfall to happen.
"God, who knew he was such a fucking creep," Olivia says.
I nod as we continue upstairs to his office. I search his bookcase and everything, but I don't see it. Suddenly, I remember walking into my father's office as a boy, and a compartment in the center of his desk was open, and he yelled at me to get out and never be in his office again. I approach the desk and can't find the opening mechanism, so I use my abilities to force it open. He had six injections sitting next to a folder I also grabbed, which meant I only had less than a week before I either let him die of rapid aging or I let him go. I grab one and run downstairs and enter the basement.
I slide the injection through a small cutout in the glass for food trays and stuff. It falls to the floor.
"How do you make these?"
"I doubt you would have the guts to make them. Why do you care?"
"You only have 5 days left after this one. Are you saying you killed someone to make this?"
"A demon, yes."
"Your days are numbered then. You are set to die on the 5th day after they run out."
I make my way upstairs. I meet with Olivia at the table in the library near the basement entrance of the mansion. I lay out the folder that had every detail of my father's experiments on me, including my genetic makeup. He injected my mom while pregnant with me with the demon blood of Lilith and angel blood of Archangel Michael-two very high-ranking abilities. This is how Lucifer knew about my origins. Also probably why Lilith despite being kind of crazy was for the most part kind to me.
"What is next?" Olivia asked.
"We will show the judge all of this and tell the judge Damien did not break the Accords because I myself am a Demon."
**Switch To Damien POV**
Not much to look at from within my cell, I have a small window but from where I am at I can only see the prison walls. So i just sat for what feels like forever in my own thoughts. Mostly thinking about Theo and what kind of danger he is facing.
"Damien Morningstar?" A guard questions.
"Yes?"
"You have a court hearing tomorrow its going to be very public given your public status, 7 AM make sure you get some rest."
