{6} The First Mistake

***

It had been awhile since the boy's had found 'Amy' and they still haven't suspected a thing. Elvira thought they would be a lot smarter than this, but she was wrong. She was expecting a lot more from the famous Winchester brothers. Guess all those rumors are just exactly what they are... rumors. 'Amy', Dean, and Sam were all at Samuel's hideout with Bobby. They had picked Bobby up on the way here and now they were checking the place out. "It's here, somewhere. I know it," Sam said. He looked over at Samuel's desk and turned to Bobby, "Help me move this."

They move the heavy wooden desk to see the floor is slightly scratched up. Elvira watched in interest as Sam pulled out a string from a hole. He lifted it up to reveal that it was actually a trap door. Elvira walked over to stand by Sam's side and she looked down in the dark place.

The boy's glanced at each other and Bobby said, "I'll be damned." Elvira wasted no time before jumping down inside of it. The boy's called out to her, but Elvira didn't turn back. If it was hidden then there must be some important information down here. She could definitely use this to her advantage when killing the Winchesters. Sam, Dean, and Bobby climbed down the ladder after her.

Dean gave 'Amy' a look of confusion, "Why did you rush down here?"

Elvira put on an innocent smile and shrugged, "I was just eager to see what's down here." Dean slowly nodded and looked away. Elvira smirked at his back, 'And I can also find a way to end you and that brother of yours.' The lights in the room came on to reveal a table in the middle of the room and book lying around everywhere.

"Welcome to the Campbell family library." Sam said looking around the room.

Dean walked over to a board full of pictures, "So, Samuel collected all this stuff, huh?"

"Apparently." Sam said.

"There must be some very important stuff if he kept it hidden," Elvira's statement made the boys look at her in confusion. Elvira quickly added on after realizing what she said, "Right?"

Sam nodded, "Yeah. Maybe."

Dean shined his flashlight around the place, "Wow. All right, well, what are we looking for?"

Bobby answered Dean's question, "Well, anything that'll put a run in the Octomom's stockings. Pick a row," The four of them started looking around from anything useful. The boys and Bobby were looking for something completely different from what Elvira was looking for. She was looking for some information to use against them. Bobby suddenly said, "Bingo," The four of them sit at the table and Bobby asked, "Any of you jokers ever heard anything about a Phoenix?"

Sam and 'Amy' shook their heads no while Dean said, "River, Joaquin, or the giant flaming bird?" Elvira looked down at a book and smirked to herself. They wouldn't be able to find a Phoenix even if they tried. She had killed all of them before she died.

"It says here that 'the ashes of a Phoenix can burn the mother.'" Bobby read aloud.

"The mother?" Sam inquired.

Dean smiled, "Great. Where do we get one?"

"You got me. I thought it was a myt-" Bobby was cut off.

Elvira, who was looking through a book, said, "The Phoenix are extinct," The boys and Bobby looked over at her and Elvira realized her mistake. "Right?" The boys didn't answer and only stared at her. 'Amy' had been acting a little weird ever since they found her. At first they thought it was because where she had died and came back, but now they weren't so sure.

Sam changed the subject, "Well, let's see if we can find something out about a Phoenix." The four of them went back to looking through books. After the sixth book Elvira read, she shut it rather loudly and sighed in annoyance. Elvira hadn't found anything at all that she could use against the Winchesters and she was beginning to become impatient. Sam looked over at her and she faked a smile at him. Sam stared at her for a few moments longer before looking back through his book.

"Guys," Dean sat back down at the table trying to get everyone's attention, "Guys, guys, guys, guys, guys, check this out," He began to read the book out loud, "'March 5, 1861. Sunrise, Wyoming. Gun killed a Phoenix today. Left a pile of smoldering ash.'"

"Really? Whose gun?" Sam questioned.

"Colt's." Dean replied. Elvira froze in her tracks and her body went completely still. She had met Samuel Colt before in a different body. They didn't get along very well seeing as he tried to kill her because she had murdered someone. She did love to play her little mind games on that man though. It was amazingly funny. Elvira almost missed him. Almost.

"Colt? Colt like-" Sam was cut off.

"Like the Colt. From," Dean held the book up with a huge grin, "Samuel Colt's Journal."

"What?" Sam grinned as well, "That's his?"

Dean nodded, "Yeah."

Sam shook his head, "Dude, no." But it said clearly on the first page, 'Samuel Colt, 1860.'

"Dude, yes." Dean said.

Sam tried to reach out and grab it, "Well, let me see it."

Dean held it out of Sam's reach, "Get your own."

Bobby stared at the book in Dean's hands, "Well, what else did he say about the Phoenix? What does it look like? Has it got feathers?"

"It just says 'Phoenix',"Dean looked back at Bobby. Elvira stood up and took the book out of Dean's hand. "Hey!" He said. Elvira looked through some of the pages and stopped when she saw something. He had written about her in this journal. It talked about how he had met her, what she did, and how he had gotten rid of her for that short amount of time. She made sure that the boys weren't looking when she ripped out the pages and stuffed them in her pocket. She closed the book and placed it back on the table in front of Dean. While she had been looking through the book, she had missed some of the conversation.  "I know where we can find one. March 5, 1861. Sunrise, Wyoming. We'll 'Star Trek IV' this bitch."

Sam shrugged while Elvira looked at him in confusion. What was this Star Trek IV thing he was talking about? Was it some kind of device? Would it be useful to her?

"I only watched 'Deep Space Nine.'" Bobby told him.

Dean seemed to be shocked by what he said, "It's like I don't even know you guys anymore. 'Star Trek IV.' Save the whales," Sam, Bobby, and 'Amy' all shrugged. "We hop back in time, we join up with Samuel Colt, we hunt the Phoenix, and then we haul the ashes back home with us."

"Time travel?" Bobby inquired.

Dean smiled, "Yeah." Time travel seemed like it would be a lot of fun to Elvira. She hadn't done it before seeing as she couldn't find someone who could time travel. She would have to join them on their trip.

"That's a reasonable plan?" Bobby asked him.

"We got a guy who can swing it." Dean said.

Elvira quickly asked, "I'm gonna come too." The boys stared at her like she was insane. What had she said wrong? Why were they staring at her like that.

Sam looked at her in confusion, "Amy, you can't. Remember?" Amy shook her head and the two boys gave each other a look. "Remember, you told us that Banshees can't travel back of forward in time. It's not possible for them to."

Elvira nodded with a smile, "Oh, yeah. I remember now. How could I forget?" Well, there goes one plan out of the window.

Dean stared at the girl, "Amy, you've been acting weird lately. Are you okay?"

'Amy' smiled at him, "Yeah. I'm perfectly fine."

Dean stood up and closed his eyes, "Castiel," Elvira froze. Castiel was the name of the angel that the girl was talking to when she broke out. Hopefully, her powers had worked and he doesn't remember a thing. "The, uh, fate of the world is in the balance. So, come on down here," Dean opened one of his eyes to see that the angel had not appeared. He closed it again, "Come on, Cas, 'I Dream of Jeannie' your ass down here pronto. Please," Just then, they heard the sound of wings and turned to see a blonde woman, "Jeannie?"

"Rachel," The woman corrected him. "I understand you need some assistance? How can I help you?"

Dean hesitated before saying, "Well, uh, we kind of need to talk to the Big Kahuna."

"I'm here on Castiel's behalf." Rachel said. Her expression didn't change at all while she talked so Elvira knew that she was an angel. Angels didn't really show a lot of emotion from what Elvira had seen of them.

"Where is he?" Sam asked her.

Rachel looked over at him, "Busy."

"Busy?" Dean questioned.

"Yes." Rachel replied.

"Doing what exactly?" 'Amy' inquired. Rachel seemed to glare over at the girl and didn't reply to her question. The simple action made Elvira mad, but she kept herself from losing her temper. It would be bad if things started to explode around her.

"Well, we've got a line on the mother of freaking everything, so-" Dean was cut off.

Rachel started to explain to him, "I'm sure your issue's very important. But Castiel is currently commanding an army, so-"

Dean continued, "So we get stuck with Miss Moneypenny."

Rachel glared at him, "So you need to learn your place."

Dean stared at the angel, "Look, I don't know who you think you are-"

Rachel cut him off, "I'm his friend."

"What, you think we're not?" Sam asked.

Rachel looked over at the brunet, "I think you call him when you need something. We're fighting a war."

"We get that." Sam told her. Elvira could tell that Amy was starting to hate this girl a lot more than she already did. She could hear Amy yelling at the girl from inside of her mind. She was also yelling a few choice words at Elvira as well, but Elvira blocked those out.

Rachel started to yell, "Clearly you don't, or you wouldn't call him every time you stub your toe, you petty, entitled little pie-"

Castiel popped inside the room without them knowing and said, "Rachel. That's enough."

Rachel stared at the ground, "I told you I'd take care of this."

"It's all right. You can go." Castiel told her.

Rachel snapped her head over to look at him, "You're staying?"

"Go," Cas ordered her. "I'll come when I can."

As soon as she left, Dean said, "Wow. Friend of yours?"

"Yes. She's, uh, my lieutenant. She's...committed to the cause," Cas explained. He took a few steps forward then asked, "Now, what do you need?"

***

They all were back at Bobby's place and were getting ready to go back in time. Everyone was here except for Dean. "Where the hell's Dean?" Bobby asked as he cleaned out a gun.

"Supply run, he said. I don't know." Sam replied. Cas was standing off to the side and 'Amy' seemed to be off in her thoughts.

Cas spoke up which caught the brunette girl's attention "Um, about your plan. You'll only have twenty-four hours." What he said made Elvira pay very close attention. Why would they only have twenty-four hours?

Sam looked over at him in confusion, "Wait, what?" He stood up from his chair.

Elvira kept a straight face on, "Why do they only have twenty-four hours?"

Castiel turned his body to face them, "Well, the answer to your question can best be expressed as a series of partial differential equations."

Bobby stopped him from continuing on, "Yeah, aim lower."

"The further back I send you, the harder it becomes to retrieve you," Cas explained. "24 hours is all I can risk. If I don't pull you home within that time, you'll be lost to me."

Elvira tried her hardest not to smirk, "So if you don't get them by twenty-four hours then you won't be able to bring them back?" Guess it wasn't such a bad thing to hang back. All she had to do was make a distraction or sabotage Castiel's plan in receiving them. She could finally get rid of them once and for all. Cas nodded in reply to her question.

Dean walked into the room carrying several shopping bags, "Well, then we better get you a watch."

Bobby stood up and looked at all of the bags, "What the hell's all that?"

"We are going native. Got to blend in." Dean held out a bag from Sam to take.

Sam only stared at it, "Uh, no, thanks. I'm fine."

"Sam." Dean said.

"Dean, I can-I can wear this." Sam stuttered out, gesturing to the flannel shirt and jeans that he had on.

"And look like a spaceman?" Dean asked.

Sam started, "Look, just because you're obsessed with all that Wild West stuff-"

Dean cut him off, "No, I'm not."

"You have a fetish." Sam told him.

"Shut up. I like old movies." Dean stated.

"You can recite every Clint Eastwood movie ever made, line for line." Sam said. Dean had a look on his face which clearly said, 'I have no idea what you're talking about.' Elvira had to admit... these boys were actually amusing. It's almost a shame that she has to kill them.

"Even the monkey movies?" Bobby inquired, raising his eyebrows.

Sam nodded and looked over at Bobby, "Yeah. Especially the monkey movies."

"His name is Clyde," Dean corrected him. 'Amy' laughed when Sam gestured over to Dean. Dean held out the bag to him again, "At least wear the damn shirt." The boys went upstairs to change and came down awhile later. Dean was wearing the full western cowboy outfit while Sam wore a white shirt with yellow roses, a pair of jeans, and a belt.

"Dean, this is stupid. I look stupid." Sam said.

"I think you guys look great." 'Amy' said, trying to keep her laughs in, but failing.

Bobby stared at Dean, "You going to a hoedown?"

"Now, is it-is it customary to wear a blanket?" Castiel questioned from behind Bobby.

Dean had a huge smile on his face, "It's a sarape. And, yes. It's, uh... Never mind. Let's just go," Dean looked at the bag filled with a watch and golden chains, "What's this?"

"Where you're goin', they don't take plastic." Bobby explained.

"I'll send you back to March 4th. That should give you time to find the Colt..," Cas started to walk over to them, "And this Phoenix creature."

Dean nodded, "All right, well, see ya at High Noon tomorrow, Partner." Bobby rolled his eyes. Castiel stood in front of the boys and brought his fingers to rest on their foreheads. Just like that, they were gone.
