Chapter Three ... The Wolf Moon ... Avery and Shawn's Experience
POV
Shawn
The day of the Wolf Moon came, the entire day was filled with me being nervous. I was on edge, I could fill Meeko pushing at me, trying to take control. I wouldn't let him though, I didn't want him to act out and hurt Avery. Avery was excitable, he was even more lively days after meeting with his circle. The great thing is, that he seems to be getting more comfortable with me, more comfortable with pack life as a whole.
He's been training with Mrs. Mary, she replaced my mother back in the day as Luna's assistant. Mrs. Mary got the job after my parents were... After they were killed doing a hunters raid. Adam has been helping Avery with the side of him that's becoming animalistic. He isn't that good at using his new abilities, so Adam is teaching him to use his new strength and speed. He shouldn't have those abilities, but because of Meeko, he was already marked. So he's been having some wolfy tendencies, a hunger for raw meat being the worst.
Walking inside of the packhouse, it was silent, A'mosh was still being an asshole, and the looming Wolf Moon wasn't helping. His wolf was on edge as well, so I understood why the house was so quiet. I walked through the quiet house, off in the distance my hearing picked up the sounds of Adam and Avery talking. I decided to leave them alone and I walked out of the back door, the door beside the back kitchens. It led down steep back steps, and out into the fields.
I took the fields heading south and went to the rogue cages, they were in what from the surface resembled a cellar but was, in fact, an unground dungeon, one of a few. The one I chose was filled with three cages, the one in the middle had the strongest lock. I opened the cage going inside. I could feel Meeko growling, the walls were made of cement mixed with black and silver aconite. I could feel Meeko growing weaker, easier to control. "It's just twenty-four hours, you can do this," I said. Meeko didn't respond.
At Lunch which thanks to Adam and A'mosh's fight, I was forced to eat at the pack's cafeteria. Avery was there, he sat at the spot designated for the Luna's assistant. It was a sight to behold, Avery in another blue crop top, eating and talking to Brandon and Keaton's mates. His smile was simply contagious, I walked over and sat down. I was there less than sixty seconds when an Omega brought me a plate; meat and potatoes. "Thank you," I said, before turning and facing my mate. "You actually like this stuff?" I asked him. "No, but Adam and the Alpha aren't doing well at the moment, and I didn't feel like cooking, so this was my last option." He answered.
"It's not bad, just a little off." Keaton's mate, Gram, said. "Bull, we had it so good, I mean our Luna can really cook. We gotta get them fuckin again." Brandon said, and his mate Salma slapped his chest, telling him in her high voice, to stop being so crude. "Come on Sal, you know he's right," Keaton said, receiving in return a slap from his mate. "Are you ready for tonight?" I asked Avery. He looked over at me and I swear his eyes were gleaming a light yellow. Yet as quickly as it was there, it was gone, so I wasn't certain. "I'm ready, although I still say, Meeko wouldn't have lost control... And even if he had, I think I could have handled it." He said, and I sat up straighter. "Is that so, Sunshine? You think you can dominate me?" I asked, laughter in my throat.
"Our strength is equal, you marked me already, plus I'm currently under the protection of a very powerful spirit." He said, and I did laugh at that. "Come on, Sunshine. You've spent mornin after mornin reading in the pack library, you know humans don't have magic." I said, and he scoffed his face going serious. "First off, it's pronounced Ma'jek or Ma'jik depending on the person, and if you knew anything you'd know humans were taught to use the energy left behind by our creators. We've always had ma'jek. You know I'm tired of arguing about this with you... Let me prove it." He said.
"I was listening to Adam gripe about rogues... He said it's one of the pack's biggest issues." He said, and I shook my head in disbelief. "And I suppose you and your circle can fix that?" I asked sarcastically. "Let me work on it, I bet we can do it." He said, and I grabbed onto the word bet. "What will we bet?" I asked. "What do you want?" He asked. That was a hard question, what did I want from him? So many things, so I used the only word to describe what I wanted from him, "Everything."
He looked down, away from me, the submission was very pretty on him. His blush covered his nose, his forehead and the very tips of his ears. Goddess, he wasn't even trying to look like sex, but that's what he looked like. Like... Fuck he was beauty, lust, love... Everything. "But I'll settle for a date." I finished and he smiled. "If I win, and I find a way to keep out the rogues, I want to skip the date and lose my virginity." He said, not even a flinch in his demeanor. "Oh shit," Brandon said, and I looked over into eight pairs of nosy eyes. "It's a bet... Although I'm more than willin to mate with you, without the need for a bet." I said, trying to save face. "No, you keep holding back... I told you I was ready two nights ago... We didn't fuck because you don't think I can handle it." Avery said, smirking over at me, I was surprised by his language, surprised and turned on.
"Well then, I guess we'll just be going on a date, cause humans workin real 'ma'jik' is not a thing," I said cockily. "I'll meet you the packhouse when the sun goes down, I'm gonna get to work on winning." He said, excusing himself. I turned in my seat to watch his bouncing ass move, as he added an extra switch to his hips. (Let me have him) Meeko urged, and I swallowed his growl.

POV
Avery
Shawn didn't believe in ma'jek, he kept mocking me, and I needed to show him he was wrong... I made the bet for that reason, and because I wanted Shawn, Gods he turned me on. I was ready to lose my virginity... You know before Lumen I was fine without having sex, sure I wanted it, but I wasn't bold enough to go for the guys I wanted... Too nervous and always stuttering. But that was the past, and I no longer had my stutter, I no longer was afraid of any and everything, and I knew I could win the bet.
I could weave a spell that would protect the pack from rogues, maybe even more than rogues... Hunters, enemies, I needed to get to work. So with showing up my mate in mind, I made my way to the pack greenhouses. The greenhouses sat over on the east side of the pack, right behind the western trees, in a perfectly shady spot, that though shady also took in the most light. The Were's who maintain the sunfilled building are excellent botanists, they have some very rare herbs and flowers. Plants from every nation
Inside, I signed my name in the log, calling out and finding the place empty. Plants hung from the ceiling, their leaves catching the sun, and willowing down to the floor. There wasn't one name on the pots and boxes, you had to know what you were looking for, and because of years of study, I did.
In the back of the greenhouse, there was a lone room that was set up for reading, I'd seen some of the nerdier teen-wolves studying in there.
The little table was surrounded by plants, I walked over to the desk that sat in the corner and found a notepad and pen. I had no idea where to start, this wasn't a simple protection spell. The pack territory went on for miles, so a ward that big would take a huge amount of power. Sitting there I started to feel a bit uneasy, I'd already made the bet, what if my spell wouldn't work. Suddenly I couldn't breathe, and I knew I was seconds from having a panic attack.
I laid back in my wicker chair, almost hyperventilating, unable to catch my breath. I could barely form a thought, but with determination, I focused. "L-Lu-Lumen." I squeaked out. Instantaneously, the sunlight that poured into the room through the clear glass windows grew brighter; almost blinding. (I am here) A voice whispered; it was masculine yet soft, deep yet smooth. A strong presence overtook me, and I felt my airways opening.
I felt that presence wrap itself around me, it enveloped me and I felt all my worries melt away. The light in the room grew brighter still, bringing with a warm heat, and I felt more presences enter the room. (We ... are here ) Echoed a chorus of voices. Quickly something old and powerful, one of the light spirits in the room overtook me, I just... I started writing... It was me writing but I wasn't, it was coming through me. I felt lightheaded, but also completely focused, I was channeling an ancient power, and the feeling was like nothing else in the world.
When the presence finally left me, the sun was gone, the moon would soon replace it. I had three pages of notes, an entire spell written in what was not my handwriting. It didn't call for a circle or even the watchtowers. The name Nilos was underlined, followed by the titles, guardian of the home, protection, and barriers. Another light spirit had chosen to work with me, but I needed to know the cost, so I asked out loud, waiting for the presence to return. It didn't, instead, I heard Lumen in my mind. (Nilos will dwell in you... Give you his power ) Lumen said, and I couldn't understand why the spirits were catering to me... What had I done to make them finally see me? Whatever it was I wasn't going to ruin it.

Twenty minutes later, I was rushing downstairs, from the Beta suite and out the back door to find Shawn standing near the treelines. I walked over to him, and he smiled, taking my hand. "Thanks for agreeing to spend the moon with me." He said. "We don't have much time." He said, leading me off into the woods... We walked in the rogue dungeon, it was like a holding cell with three caged spaces.
We stood there for a bit, neither of us saying anything. Then Shawn turned to face me, he dug in his pocket and pulled out a key. "Don't let me out until tomorrow night. Meeko swore to me he wouldn't try to get out of the cage, but sometimes he lies." Shawn said, and I waved off his fears and worries. "Go inside, I'll be fine," I said, and he nodded walking into the cage. He turned as I shot the gate, using the key to lock the cage. "Are you happy?" Shawn asked, "With me?" He added. "Yes... For a long time, I was just living, but since I've allowed myself to be with you... I feel alive for the first time in nineteen years." I told him. He said nothing, simply nodded his head.
"How long do you think it'll be until the moon ch..." A soft snarl cut me off, as Shawn's eyes faded to a deep black color, eyes like the emptiness of space. "Hello... Mate." Meeko called; his voice a deeper and far more masculine version of Shawn's. I shivered from the sound of it. "Hi." I squeaked. "I'm told you wanted to talk to me... What about?" Meeko asked. I pulled over the only chair in the dungeon, sitting down we faced off. "I-I want to know why you did it... Why you marked me," I said.
Shawn's face was expressionless, he wasn't saying anything. "Why?" I asked, and he frowned the expression on face tight, and one I hadn't seen Shawn make himself. "Shawn wouldn't want me to tell you the full story." He said, and instantly I was suspicious. "Shawn doesn't have to know anything. He's sleeping... Look I need to let go off my fear, my past... That all stems from you. So talk to me, show me you can treat me like a mate." I let out.
"Our parents... My mother and father were killed by hunters, but before that he was vicious... An old school Beta. By our laws, no one could step in, not that anyone knew, she hid everything so well. All Shawn ever saw was our father, shouting, hitting, beating our mother... We were glad when the hunters killed them, glad my mom was gone and glad my father couldn't hurt her anymore... So Shawn didn't want a mate, and I was angry. Angry at everyone, so I took over for Shawn, he was tired anyway and giving control of our bodies to me was easy. Shawn checked out and I ran off. I swear I... wasn't even looking for you. You were just there, innocent and pure, riding that horse. I-I just wanted to smell you. Then you started screaming. And I heard people coming... I- I panicked and I marked you, hoping to find you again later... But A'mosh found me some days later, and Shawn found his way back to the surface, he didn't remember you and barely acknowledged me." He said all of this, and I took it in.
"I was always worried you'd come back. Nobody believed me, not Adam or my Dad, not even my mom and she always believed me. You ruined my childhood, and I don't know if I can ever forgive you." I said, "I'll wait forever for you." He said, his face still expressionless. I felt something overtake me, his... It was his emotions, he wouldn't hurt me, and that scared me... I don't know why, but I was terrified.

Some hours later we were laughing and joking, telling each other secrets and promising not to tell Shawn, we were playing cards. I was teaching him and he was horrible at first. Pity pat, a game of matching cards, so simple a three-year-old could do it, but not a wolf. "This hand... Let's say if I win, you take something off." I said, just kidding. "Unlock the cage and come in." He said, with a look that was meant to be a smirk. "You know I can't, Shawn wants me first," I said, "Okay, how about if I win... you cum for me." He bargained.
"Seriously?" I asked. "Yes... I want to watch you cum." He said. "What do I get if I win?" I asked. "My cum." He said, and no lie I wanted it... To watch Shawn's body cum while Meeko was in control, it was bound to be aggressive and impressive. And so we played, of course, Meeko understood the game perfectly and had simply baited me into a game he knew he'd win. He laid out two kings, two queens and ace and a deuce. He smirked at me, those dark empty eyes almost gleaming with excitement, as their owner sat back, watching me expectantly.
I stood up, removing my sweatpants, "No underwear? For a virgin, you are kinky, Mate." Meeko cooed, "Come closer." He demanded and I shuffled forwards, stepping out of my sweats. "Touch yourself, mate," Meeko said, his eyes intensely focused. I found myself shy and bashful, "Look at me." Meeko commanded and my eyes shot to his. "Just think of all the ways I'm going to pleasure you when I get the chance, think of all the ways I'm gonna make you cum... I can't wait to be inside of you... Stroke it for me, little mate... Yeah, such a pretty little nail. Faster Avery, faster." He demanded. My fist was wrapped around my six-inch junk, I sped up going up and down faster and faster
I was beating off for the wolf version of my mate, a mate who I was suddenly drawn to, after fearing him for ten years. He watched me, with such intensity that drool was cornering on his lip. "Ah... Ugh... Meeko." I moaned, surprised by my comfortability. "Yeah... Work the head... Work it, Avery." He growled, and my body shuttered, as I teased the tip of my junk. My toes kept curling, and Meeko stuck out Shawn's hand through the bars; his palm facing upward, asking for my load.
I walked forward, lost in the pleasure my own hand was bringing, my caught up in the fact that Shawn's dick was up and being quickly stroked. I stepped forward and quickly Meeko grabbed me, he pulled me forward and I didn't attempt to fight back, afraid his strength would hurt me. My cock went straight inside his mouth, and my left leg almost buckled. He reached his hand behind me, and cupped my ass, fondling it. He was good at giving blowjobs, and I wanted to know why, but also I didn't give a fuck... It felt so good.
"Make me cum, baby." I groaned, humping into his hot and wet mouth. I was squeezing the bars, smalling my pelvis into the bars, my head was thrown back. "Yes... Yes... Mmmm... Here it comes, here comes my load, take it, Meeko." I cried, I felt my balls pull tight, and cum shot from my tip.
Meeko growled through Shawn, lifting his palm and offering me a puddle of his cum. Hormones and lust led me to slurp it from his hand, watching his snarl softly at me... The night carried on with more talks, sweet nothings and dreams. We talked long into the night, falling asleep against the cages. I can honestly say, that was the night my fear of Shawn vanished, I was done hiding from our connection. I wanted a mate, I wanted what Adam had, what the other wolves on the pack had, what all the books in the library described... A selfless love, an eternal love.

The morning came and I went to make breakfast for Meeko and I, the packhouse was empty. I returned to the dungeons to find Meeko awake, staring at me with those dark eyes. We ate, I gave him an entire pack of bacon, smiling as he practically swallowed his plate. "I enjoy spending time with you, but Shawn doesn't give me control, I usually have to take it," Meeko said. "Well, I will talk to Shawn, I like spending time with you too," I said. We sat making plans, just lounging. "Have you read about knotting?" He asked, and I blushed. I read about mates who had sex in wolf form, and the humans who enjoyed being breed by their mates. "No... I don't think so, see that's taboo for us humans." I said, and he shrugged.
"When I mark you properly, we'll have two hundred and some years for you to lose your humanity." He said. And he was right, werewolves are long-lived and their mates are long-lived. So who knows how I'd feel in ten or twenty years. All too soon lunch came and went and Shawn was back, I let him out of the cage and he kissed me, deep and hard. "I taste me on your tongue." He chuckled. "What did you guys do?" He asked, and I rolled my eyes. "It's between me and Meeko, we just chatted." I lied.
