The day was still dark and neither boy wanted to separate as they held hands and walked far away from the others to a more quiet place where they could discuss and lay their hearts bare for each other.

They had left a handful of people in a shocked state because their public kiss but they didn't care. They walked for a while till they came to a sit at a bench overlooking the field

It was quiet for a while until Taehyung spoke first.

"What happens now"

Jimin bit his lips. "I don't know...."

Taehyung frowned. "What do you mean you don't know"

Jimin chuckled and grabbed his hand. "Tae...I really want to be with you but there are too many obstacles"

Taehyung was silent for a while then he said " I have a lot of questions to ask you..."

Jimin took a deep breath to prepare himself. He didn't know a day like this would come. He had only thought of doing something good for Taehyung but he hadn't anticipated that it would bring them closer. Closer than he had ever imagined.

He nodded. "Ask me then. I'll answer everything"

Taehyung swallowed hard before he started. "How long have you had feelings for me?"

Jimin smiled softly. "Five years.... since the day you first sang to me on that rooftop"

Taehyung held his breath and Jimin laughed. "I wasn't in love with you from the beginning. I was envious, jealous even of you back then but love came to me like serendipity. It was so sudden, so unexpected. I didn't know how it just happened. I didn't know why it happened but one day, I found that you looked more handsome than usual. I found that I wanted to be with you a lot more. I found that I wanted to cherish and protect you"

Taehyung asked "Then why did you hide the fact that you were the one who kissed me three years ago"

Jimin's face contorted. He looked anguished by the question but he continued. "It was because...you had changed. You weren't the Taehyung that I knew anymore. You had become different and we weren't as close as before. I always had to struggle so hard to get close to you. You drifted apart from me and it really hurt so I wasn't sure you would accept me, especially the kind of love I was offering you...the love of a man"

"I was afraid of getting rejected. That day I came to the hospital to see you, I felt very emotional. I had purposely avoided coming to see you because I wasn't prepared to see you in that state. I finally found you sitting alone under the apple tree. I wanted to tell you who I was but then a stupid thought came to me and I remembered one of those cheesy scenes in movies where the hero kisses the protagonist who is unaware because they are blindfolded"

"I was overwhelmed by my feelings. You looked so handsome sitting there alone. I couldn't help it. I felt I wouldn't get another chance. I know it's stupid but we were much younger and filled with raging hormones"

"So after I kissed you, I panicked. When I saw Jiyeon coming towards us, I made a run for it"

His eyes grew red. "But then one day, you told me you liked someone. When I asked you who it was, you said it was Jiyeon because she had kissed you during your most darkest day. The time when you were blind"

"It hurt a lot because the person who kissed you wasn't Jiyeon. That person was me but I didn't think I had any right to reveal that. You didn't like me"

Taehyung sighed. "But I didn't like Jiyeon. While dating her, I didn't have any feelings for her even though I thought she was the one who kissed me that day....I loved the one who kissed me. I loved you...."

Jimin turned to Taehyung and smiled wryly.

"Really?"

Taehyung was confused by the look in his eye. It was sad and painful.

"Do you remember that day when I asked you how you would feel if you discovered I was your first love"

He scoffed. "Do you remember what you said? You said it was impossible...you said that you can't even imagine it happening"

Taehyung gulped completely embarrassed. "I'm so sorry about that Jiminah...in my defense, I was only being in denial. Back then, I didn't even know what I was feeling. I didn't know if I wanted to run away from you or stay with you. My emotions were a mess. I was determined to focus only on Jiyeon so I shunned every other feeling you were creating in me...I was fighting with myself back then trying to draw the line between us"

"Until after Jiyeon and I broke up and Jungkook told me he knew you had feelings for me. That knowledge made me sleepless. It made me restless. Then we had our moments in that resort and you kissed me. It was like something was unlocked inside me. Feelings that I had been trying to suppress just sprang out that day"

He suddenly grabbed Jimin's hands. "I think I had always had feelings for you but I always suppressed them. Even though I didn't love you before, but one thing was for sure I was strongly attracted to you. I used to find you extremely sexy"

Jimin blushed.

"So much so that I had my first....."

He stopped suddenly getting chilly. He was so embarrassed to say that out loud. Jimin was curious.

"Your first.... what is it Taehyung?"

"Forget it!" Taehyung suddenly barked keeping Jimin from probing further but a subtle grin appeared on his face. He could guess what Taehyung was trying to say.

The latter gulped "Anyway...there was always something there... growing between us. Somehow, it led us to this moment"

"So don't think about the past. I was a different person then. I was hiding from who I really was and living the life of someone else. I was living Jin's life but now I will live again for myself and for us"

Jimin suddenly grabbed him and pulled him to himself.

"It's going to be a lot to handle going forward with the two of us together. We are going to experience a lot of hurdles especially from your parents but...if things get too difficult...come to me. I will take care of you and protect you"

Taehyung just scoffed and separated from him. He looked him deeply in the eyes.

"Jiminah, are you sure this thing between us is going to work? We are living in completely different worlds..."

Jimin sighed. "The reason I ended up doing those terrible things was partly because of you. I needed a way to escape from the depression I was feeling because of you so it brought me a sense of relief. The other part was because I needed fast cash to take care of my family"

"But I don't need that anymore. My family is settled and you are now with me so I will ditch every other thing for your sake"

Taehyung laughed. "Don't do that Jimin. Don't change yourself because of me. It would only make you feel restrained. You have always been a bad boy trapped in a cute little body"

Jimin feigned ignorance. "I wonder what you mean"

Taehyung laughed and shook his head. "Do you remember when we first met after you moved into the neighborhood for the first time. I think we were nine or ten. I came to bring you cake as a house warming present. You took a bit of the cake and said you hated the flavor. You hated strawberry so you dipped your hand in the cake and smeared it on my face. Everyone scolded you for it and I cried for two days"

"Or when we were twelve and you took my lunch money to play arcade at the game house. I starved that day because my parents didn't come home till the next morning"

Jimin lowered his head in embarrassment. "I'm sorry about those things"

"You should be but it's who you are. A devil who can be mean but kind to me as well. After you smeared my face with cake, you took me to your room and gave me half your toys later. After you took my lunch money, you treated me to lunch for two whole days"

Taehyung smiled. "I didn't notice all these but you were always different with me. You always treated me well maybe that's why I couldn't completely hate you when you were being so mean to me sometimes"

He fondled his blonde hair lovingly. "You can be whoever you want. I won't ever judge you but I want only two things from you..."

Jimin listened attentively. "Be kind to me and don't ever cheat on me"

"I'm going to trust you from now on and I'll accept everything from you...the good, bad and the ugly"

"You are mine and I'm yours now"

Jimin's eyes were blood shot red. Hearing that Taehyung accepted him for who he was. Hearing that he couldn't change anything about himself for his sake left him feeling like his heart was going to overflow with too much love for this man. This was what he had always wanted. He finally broke down Taehyung's wall and Taehyung took his hand, ready to face the challenges together with him. He suddenly grabbed his face and plunged his lips into his.

Taehyung responded by wrapping his arms around his neck and pulling him closer. Taehyung's head spinned from the kiss. It left him completely breathless.

They both separated, resting their foreheads against each other.

"I love you" Jimin whispered.

"And I love you" Taehyung whispered as well.

That was how they started dating officially. That night, Jimin took Taehyung home and he sneaked back into the house.

Lala didn't talk to Jimin again, completely disappointed but Soonyoung and Jay completely supported him. However, he made them swear to keep his relationship with Taehyung a secret especially Lala.

Taehyung informed Jungkook about the recent development and the latter was very happy for him but he seemed quite sad especially when Yoongi's name was mentioned. Taehyung tried to understand what the problem was but Jungkook seemed to be in too much pain to talk about it. Instead, he said in a tired voice.

"You were right...I should never have dated Yoongi"

Taehyung was worried so he decided to pay a visit to Jungkook but he refused and told him he wasn't in the best shape to see him right now. The holiday would be over and they could see each other again. Taehyung understood that he needed the space but he couldn't help but be curious over Jungkook's problem with Yoongi

However, in the meantime, he and Jimin happily dated in secret. Every date had to be strategically planned due to the nosiness of their neighborhood who could gladly spread their secret to his parents.

They often went out of town for their dates on weekends. They met up at private  restaurants and cinemas. At night, when they were unable to stay away from each other, Jimin would climb over the fence and sneak into Taehyung's room. Taehyung couldn't do that. He wasn't that rebellious neither was he that sporty. They never went past cuddling because the atmosphere wasn't conducive. After waiting for each other for so long, they decided to take their time. Actually, it was Taehyung who decided because Jimin was finding it unbearable. He kept touching Taehyung whenever and however he could as if doing so could help quell the heat inside of him.

They were happy. Very happy but their happiness only lasted for two weeks because one day, Jimin disappeared.
