Bonus Chapter 4 - Andrew & Avaloth

Avaloth was scared when she was surrounded by the four powerful devils. Their power was so great that she couldn't move from her place. Her body froze and her inside howled in fear. She felt pressured by those overwhelming powers.

But she was envious of those powers. Would she ever be that powerful?

As the devils' eyes glared at her, she stepped back gripping the bag Andrew gave her, close to her heart as if it was going to protect her. She didn't know why they were treating her like that.

Did she do anything to them? She just came here to give Andrew the tab.

All of their hollowed eyes held her in the corner and helplessly, her eyes moved toward Andrew who was eating his favorite potato chips on his chair.

She looked out for help as her pleading eyes fell on Andrew. But he avoided her immediately.

Her brows furrowed.

"Why are you all here?" Andrew asked as one of the devils who seemed to have more powers from the rest of them asked, "Who is she?"

"Just someone..." Andrew looked at her with displeased eyes as her shoulders tensed. Avaloth was confused. His eyes said he was angry but why? Did she do something? But it should be her who needed to get angry.

He talked with them like he knew them. It somehow made her a little jealous and mad.

"You didn't tell me you already have the strongest devils?!" She asked Andrew who was just munching on chips and he portrayed his irritated face.

"And why would I say that to you?" He said with a calm yet rude voice and Avaloth felt a little hurt. Why was he talking to her like that?

Her lips quivered but she held herself back.

"Err... What is happening?" Someone asked and she moved her head to see, there was another human. She must be his sister.

"She is a devil." A devil answered, "A low class though." The way he said she was a low class devil made her a little agitated as she looked at him with an angry face. Even everyone in the clan said that to her always. She felt hurt. She was trying to get stronger but no one would appreciate that.

She had been working hard to get powers yet they would still give her that kind of look and it made her mad.

"I am not a low class devil!" She shouted, "I am just cultivating my powers!"

"Ho! So you are here to cultivate?" Another devil said with a wicked grin as she stepped back warily. That female devil looked very strong and Avaloth wanted to be like her. Confidence oozed out of that female devil and Avaloth wanted to feel that too.

"Yes! I am here to seduce Andrew McAllen!" Avaloth announced with a high voice although she couldn't find any confidence in herself, "And take his soul so I get stronger...?"

Her feet were shaking while she clutched the bag tightly toward her chest. Her eyes frantically moved around on the four devils who were sneering at her. She felt very scared that she wanted to hide behind Andrew.

"You what?" The powerful devil asked, his voice turning hoarse which made Avaloth run toward Andrew. She was just too scared to face all of them and she knew she was not strong enough.

"Where do you think you are going?" The incubus hissed as he caught Avaloth in his strong arms, "pouncing on your prey wouldn't make you powerful, you low class succubus."

Now Avaloth felt as if she would faint any moment. The devil who had caught her seemed equally powerful like them. She had heard that high ranked devils punished with the worst things. What if they were here to punish her for running away from the clan?!

She was scared! All she wanted was to get powerful and that's it.

She struggled to free herself as she shouted, "Let me go to him!"

"So you can seduce him?" The incubus asked.

Avaloth was trying to seduce Andrew but he won't get seduced. Maybe Avaloth didn't have enough powers. But she would get her first soul!

Everyone in her clan who were around her age had gotten one soul at least but she couldn't. Now she was determined to get one soul.

"Make no mistake," Andrew said and her attention went toward him as his cold eyes looked down at her and he slowly came near. His hot breaths fell on her face. For some reason, it felt like he was very offended. His eyes looked so deadly that for a moment she forgot that he was only a human. She looked at him with a pair of hopeful eyes but as Andrew hissed on her face, she froze, "It would take you a hundred years to seduce me, Avaloth."

She halted as her face went blank. She didn't struggle anymore as if all of her hope broke into pieces. Her eyes went round and a mixed feelings of betrayal and hurt showed on her face as tears started to drop from her eyes.

So... Now that he got high ranked devils around him, he was telling what he really wanted to tell her. He was just toying with her then...

"So, you were playing with me..." She almost whispered which made Andrew clench his jaw.

"All this time, you were lying to me...Humans are liars!" She said as she sniffed. She couldn't stop her tears anymore even though she didn't want to show them her pathetic side. "You are the worst!" She said as she threw the bag on Andrew's face and left his house immediately.

She used her powers to teleport herself to the forest and it took a great amount of energy that she felt a little tired. But she was so hurt she didn't want to stay there for a second.

Avaloth cried as she felt someone had stabbed her in the chest. A sniffle came from her chest and more tears poured out. She wiped them but it was futile.

Andrew was the worst of all worst humans! She went out to buy him a tab but now he showed her what he really felt toward them. He resented her and he was playing with her.

Avaloth felt all of her life everyone would seek her only for their own entertainment. She was getting tired...

She had enough! Now she would go away and never return but where would she go?

She realized she had no money to survive in the human world and she certainly had no spell to return to Hell.

She halted. She was a devil yet she was hopeless.

She sat on the muddy ground and face palmed. She had nowhere to go...

While her mind was occupied with sadness and the images of Andrew giving her glares and hatred expression she felt an intense pressure from behind her. As if a powerful entity had come and a shiver ran down on her spine.

She stood up immediately and turned around. Sweat bids appeared on her forehead as her feet felt cold. Her cautious gaze moved around everywhere in the forest. It was dark but she could see.

There was no one and the air seemed strangely quiet as if it was afraid to move. She knew whoever had come was a devil as well. She could feel their powers coming from everywhere and touching her skin.

Her heart took pace and she thought of going back to Andrew. She didn't know why but around Andrew, she had always felt safe. She knew he was a mere human but something about him made her feel he was stronger than he looked.

Or maybe it was his personality that made her feel safe?

She didn't know...

Instinctively, her feet moved toward Andrew's house and the devil appeared before her, blocking her path.

She stepped back.

The devil before her smiled, his sharp fangs glinted on his lips as his dark hollowed eyes met Avaloth's.

"W-who are you?" Avaloth asked, her insides blaring the alarms to run away. The atmosphere suddenly filled with the devil's miasma and it was suffocating.

A strange feeling engulfed her that he didn't come for her. Who was he?

The devil's smile broadened, parting his face in two. "You forgot why I sent you..."

Avaloth didn't understand what he said...

"You failed." The way he said it made Avaloth's inside howled with fear.

"Wh-what do you mean?"

The devil didn't utter a word as he came before her in a blink of an eye and a gasp left from her mouth.

The devil's sharp claws tore through her chest to her gut as a scream erupted from her mouth. It pained and tears dripped down as her body fell on the ground with a thud.

She heaved for air as her weak eyes saw above her. The devil's eyes fell on her with a distasteful look as if he was disappointed and he didn't like the weak demon lying on the ground.

"I will kill Andrew McAllan with my own hands..." He announced as he disappeared into the darkness.

Avaloth's mind didn't register his words as she was fighting with her consciousness. She needed to go warn Andrew.

She moved her body and the pain whipped her as a hiss came out from the back of her throat. She turned around and saw the ground beneath her bathed in her blood. Her white dress soaked and glued with her wounds and it pained so much that she moaned.

She moved her hands and feet to stand up. She needed to go. She needed to tell Andrew.

What if she was late?

Her heart clenched. She can't be late.

She would reach him. It didn't matter if he hated her, she would repay him for the times he let her stay in his room. She would repay him for the times he fed her.

Tears rumbled in her eyes as her consciousness had started to fade. Her feet stumbled as more blood oozed out. Her whole body felt weak and it wanted nothing but a little sleep.

But she felt maybe the sleep would take her away. She might never see Andrew again. Her heart clenched tightly as she made her feet move.

She wanted to see Andrew. Just one time.

Please?

She would go away after that because she knew Andrew didn't like her. He let her stay out of pity. But it was okay because she was pitiful and a weak devil all through her life.

She had gotten accustomed to it. She felt hurt when everyone pointed that out but she had known for a long time that she was a defective devil, a disgrace to her kind.

No wonder Andrew never liked her. She wasn't perfect and she had nothing to be praised for. No one would want that. If she was in Andrew's place, she would have thrown herself out too.

But Andrew was a good person. He didn't throw her out.

She needed to pay him back. She needed to reach him and tell that someone wanted to kill him and she didn't know why.

Her feet collided with a stone as she fell flat on her face. Her wound hurt and she moaned. Her hands stretched out to where Andrew's house was.

She had no powers left to teleport herself to his house. She had no powers to heal herself.

Her eyes were closing as a mist of darkness appeared before her eyes. She couldn't see anything.

Was she dying?

Maybe...

It was pitiful how she was dying without repaying Andrew. She was dying without seeing him for one last time.

But it didn't hurt anymore. It was better this way. No one wanted her anyway...

Andrew didn't want her as well...

Tears fell from her eyes as Andrew's rage-filled eyes came before her mind and soon her consciousness lost to the darkness.
