My Hero?
The man had torn apart your sweater and you immediately began trembling from a mix of the sudden cold air hitting your skin and the sinking fear of what he was about to do to you. He twirled the tip of the knife against your bare shoulder before slowly sinking it in until it was stopped by bone. You could feel it grinding into it as you let out a strangled cry.
He placed a dirty hand over your mouth to muffle the sound. "Shhhh, we don't need someone to hear your pretty voice."
Tears pricked your eyes from the pain and your cried turned to sobs he repeated his actions, creating a second wound in your shoulder. You could feel something hard prodding against your belly as he continued on. The sick fuck was getting off on hurting you. You began to struggle again, weakly pushing against his chest with your good arm as you shifted around under him, trying to throw him off balance.
"Stop squirming so much." He growled, moving his hand from your mouth to your throat.
He started pressing down, long enough for you to see stars as you clawed at his hand and struggled to breath. As soon as your arms went limp he released your throat, letting you gasp for air. While you were doing that, he continued with the knife, now dragging it across your jawline.
"I'd hate to ruin such a pretty face, behave yourself so I don't have to."
"Wanna talk about ruining faces?" You never felt so happy to see the aggressive redhead standing before you.
He jerked the man off you easily with the prosthetic arm and reeled back to punch him in the jaw with his real one. As soon as your assaulter fell to the ground, Kid unloaded on him, driving a knee into his gut as he hit him again and again in the face. Killer came into view, blocking Kid from sight.
"You don't want to see that." He said softly as he carefully picked you up.
You tried to speak but your throat hurt and the movement made you all the more dizzy. All that came out was a few low rasps.
"Hold on, we'll get you looked at." He hugged your trembling frame close.
The sounds of Kid hitting the man faded into the background as he took you farther away. It was sickening to listen to. You could hear bones breaking and imagine the blood flying. The man had long since been knocked out cold but Kid wasn't stopping, and you didn't know if he would.
Killer kicked a door open and took you into a room you recognized as their garage. "Heat! Wire! Clear the table, now!"
You let your head lull over to see two men hurriedly doing as they were told, clearing tools and car parts off a metal work table. Once it was done, Killer laid you out on it and began checking your wounds.
"Here's the kit." One of the men, a guy with thick blue hair and sunken eyes, gave Killer a first aid kit. "Who is she anyway?"
"Doesn't matter. Kid said to take care of her so we will. See if you can call up that doctor."
The blue haired man nodded, giving you a sad glance before leaving. Killer let out a heavy sigh as he started cleaning up what he could, starting with your shoulder to staunch the bleeding and then moving to the cut on your chest. You didn't care that he had to touch around such a personal area, you hurt too much and were glad someone came to your rescue.
"You're really my hero Killer." You managed to rasp out.
"This was all Kid. He wasn't in the mood to put up with that bullshit." He gingerly lifted your head and gently pulled away stray strands of hair to find the last cut.
He dabbed at it lightly with a cool wet cloth the other man brought him to try and clean it. It stung no matter how careful he was but you knew it needed to be done.
"Why...does he care?"
"You'll have to ask him yourself later, when it doesn't hurt so much to speak. Just stay quiet for now and stay awake. You can't sleep until the doctor gives you the okay."
"I know how concussions work."
"How about directions? Stop talking."
You pursed your lips as you squinted up at him but did as he said. The guy was getting bossy and you weren't in the mood to argue.
"He's on his way but he's not happy about it." The blue haired man reappeared.
"I don't care if he's not happy about it, she needs someone to keep all this from getting infected and proper stitches."
His companion just nodded in response and took a nearby chair, staying in view.
"Did he touch her?" The same side door you came in through opened and closed as Kid got back.
"In general, yes. She's pretty beat up. Other than that...no, he didn't."
"Good." Kid stomped past, staying out of view. "I'm going to clean up."
You forced back the sudden nausea that came up from the simple statement. He had to have been covered in blood. You reached over with your good arm and brushed against Killer. He was too far out of reach for you to tug at his shirt now that he'd done all that he could until their doctor arrived.
"Hmm?" You still managed to get his attention.
With a bit of effort, you were able to point in the direction Kid went and then back the the door, hoping Killer would get the message.
"Are you worried if he killed that guy?" Fuck this man was a genius.
You nodded slowly.
"Why should that matter? He would've killed you if we didn't notice sooner."
You tapped at his arm as he was closer again and frowned.
"Yes, he's probably dead."
That was a bit much to handle. You rolled to your side with a groan and coughed, trying your best not to throw up.
"This better be good Eustass-ya or I'm charging you double and leaving." The familiar sound of the small time clinic's doctor's voice hit your ears.
Does everyone know each other around here? You thought that was supposed to be a small town thing.
"Quit your complaining and take care of her Law." Kid growled as he dragged a chair across the concrete floor and sat by the blue haired man.
It was obvious he rushed cleaning himself off. Flecks of blood could still be seen in some of the crevices of his metal appendage along with on his clothes. His eyes met yours and his features settled into a deep frown but he didn't give his seemingly usual verbal attack.
"I didn't know you had any women on your crew."
"I don't."
You turned your head the other way to look at the doctor and he looked surprised to see you. "I see, you've been pretty roughed up."
"She hit the back of her head too, there's a decent sized cut back there." Killer tapped the back of his own skull to indicate where.
"Alright, give me a bit and I'll have her fixed up." Law placed a bag of his own supplies on the table and got to work.
----
Not only was he able to stitch up the knife and head wounds, he was able to apply some sort of cream to the cut on your chest and your bruised neck and wrist. A few pain pills and bandages later and everything felt so much better.
"With what I gave you, you should be able to get some rest (Y/n)-ya. You won't find drugs like these in just any hospital." He smirked proudly down at you. "Consider this your only freebie Eustass-ya."
"Fuck off." Kid sneered as Law left.
"Want me to take her home?" Killer asked.
"I got it." Your voice came out rough but it didn't hurt as bad thanks to Law.
You swung your legs over the edge of the table and were immediately stopped before your feet could touch the ground.
"No you don't." Kid got up and tossed you over his shoulder.
"Don't do that!" You wheezed.
"Shut up, you're staying here for a while."
"Are you sure Kid?" Killer asked.
"Yeah, her and I are going to have a little talk." He bounced you on his shoulder, snickering as he took you up a set of stairs you never noticed. "Go home!" He barked to the men as they disappeared from your view.
The room he took you to looked like a studio apartment but you didn't get much of a chance to look around before he tossed you onto a soft bed. You winced a bit as it jarred you but the drugs you took were really beginning to kick in, almost numbing you.
"I appreciate the help but let me go home..." You tried to get up but your limbs weren't working with you and you fell onto your stomach, unable to leave the bed.
"No, we need to talk." He crouched in front of you, making himself eye level with your scowling form.
"About what?"
"What you owe me." He snickered, face contorting into something more akin to a devilish snarl.
"I'll get together some money okay? Now can I go?" Your eyelids were beginning to feel heavy but you still didn't want to stay the night here, not with the jackass mechanic you pretty much didn't know.
"I don't want money, I make enough of that." He growled.
"I don't have anything else."
"Sure you do." His smile only grew wider. "You're pretty beat up now but I've seen you before all the cuts and bruises, you aren't half bad looking. Shit I'd say you have a pretty sexy body, good face."
Your heart sunk as you realized the position you were in and what he was going for. It was impossible to move at this point and you were at his mercy.
"I'm not going to fuck you." But you could still put up a defiant front.
"See, I like that about you too. You got spunk. Most women are too terrified of me to talk back." He chuckled. "No I'm not going to fuck you, not now at least. But you're going to be my woman, consider that your payment to me. I did save your life after all."
"That's not how you ask a girl out."
"Don't care. You owe me and I'd like to keep you around, keep things interesting." He stood, stripping off the bloodstained shirt and tossing it in an empty corner of the room.
"And what if I say no?" You were fighting to keep your eyes open and focused on him as your voice slurred with the need for sleep.
He frowned. "Why would you want to do that? I'm an upgrade from that twink looking motherfucker baby. And I bet I could fuck you better than he ever could."
"You're mean..." You murmured.
"How's this for mean," The bed shifted as he leaned a hand into the matress and he blew hot air against your ear. "say no and I'll throw you to a whole slew of men like the one that almost raped you tonight. They'd have a blast making you into their new plaything." His metallic fingers danced across your spine, making you shudder.
He meant it. You could feel the sincerety in his voice and you could tell he was more than capable of doing so. He killed a man just so he could get his hands on you after all.
"So much for a rescue."
"No one said it was a rescue. That's how things work around here, everyone has an ulterior motive."
"That's not true."
He burst into laughter. "You're telling me you live here, in Grandline City, and didn't know that? Everyone here either lies, steals, or cheats in one way or another. This place is built on criminals. Don't believe me?"
"No."
"That bitch your man cheated on you with, she's a thief, and a good one too. The guy you ran into the other day? He's a fighter, kicks people's asses and takes what he wants. Law, the doctor, he fixes people like that up for cheap, gives them illegal drugs to keep them going. The same kind he gave you."
"And what about you?" You managed to open an eye and see his face almost right up against your own, a single amber orb gleaming at you.
"Oh I'm like that kid, Luffy, but worse. See he won't kill but I like to. I'll kill whoever gets in my way and take what I want along the way. Tonight, that just so happened to be you."
"How lucky of me." You closed your eyes again.
"Sure beats the alternative. I can't say I'll ever be gentle with you, but at least I won't be cutting you up. You're in for a wild ride sweetheart." He pinched your cheek roughly and backed off.
"How long?"
"For what?" He snapped, not liking the vague question.
"How long am I stuck with you?"
"Until I get bored of you or one of us dies. Then you can consider your debt paid off. Now sleep so those wounds can heal."
He didn't have to tell you twice.
