"I didn't kill anyone," I say. But Damien shook his head and let out a small laugh. "Chad, we both know that down the hall, in the boy's toilet two boys are lying on the floor dead."

"I don't know what you're talking about sir," I tell him. "And I think I'm late for class."

"You killed them because of the Devil's Order didn't you?"

My heartbeat elevated. Damien knew about The Devil's Order? How?

"What's the Devil's Order?" I ask as if I didn't have an idea.

Damien laughs. "Sit down, please." I do as he said and he rolls up one of his sleeves revealing a small tattoo of a circle with a star in the middle.

My eyes grew wide, horrified. "Y-you're one of them?" I ask.

"Yes Chad," Damien said. "I'm a proud member of the Devil's Order."

My breath became ragged. Now I know why Damien had been looking at me all this while. He was one of them.

"I killed your father," Damien said. "I'm sorry but I had to do it. Your father was one of my friends."
My eyes shot up. "You did what?"

"I killed your father," He repeats. I swallowed hard, the man who killed my father was a few feet away from me. I felt an unfamiliar anger rise in me.

"You took my father away from me!!" I cry and stood up, balling my fists. Damien held up his hand. "Sit." He commanded and I felt like I was pulled by an unseen force to my chair.

"What the fuck?" I say as my butt settled onto the chair against my own will. "How did you do that?"

Damien smiled. "When you join the Devil's Order, you become part of something greater." He turns his back to me and faces his window. "You get powers beyond human comprehension and you become devoted to Mariah."

"Who the hell is Mariah?" I ask him, still trying my best to get off the chair.

He turned. "Our Liberator."

What the hell was he babbling on about? Our Liberator? What the actual fuck?

I shake my head and try to stand up, I couldn't, my butt was still glued to the chair. "This Mariah happens to be a woman?"

"Not a woman, a goddess." Damien nods. "And the devil's order was established to prepare this world for her coming."

"And when she comes what happens to us?" I ask Damien.

He sits down and rubs his hands in glee. "She cleanses our world. Takes over this world and put us on the right path to salvation!"

This is crazy! Why did I join this crazy group? Their motivation was to bring some woman to this world to...liberate us?

"Cleanse us as to how?"

"She takes over this planet," Damien said his lips thin.

I shook my head. "Can you be more elaborate? This Mariah isn't of this world?"

Damien scoffs. "Of course, she isn't. Man can't rule man... but a goddess can."

I swallowed hard. What had I gotten myself into?

"Let me explain it to you," Damien said. "The earth is 4.5 billion years old, mankind is 140,000 years old."

"Okay," I say trying to see where he was going with this.

Damien continues annoyed that I had interrupted. "If you condense the lifespan of the earth into a day...that's 24 hours, we've been here for only 3 seconds Chad."

"Wait..." I say. "...you did the math?"

"Shut up and let me continue!" Damien said.

There was a knock on the door and a girl's voice floated in. "Vice-principal Damien? Can I come in? I have a problem with my extracurriculars."

"Fuck off!" Damien barked. "Come back next year!"

"But I'm in 12th grade..."

"I said Fuck off!!"

We heard an angry mumble and retreating footsteps. I turned to look at Damien, he had a vicious glare in his eyes and he panted hard.

"Are you okay sir?" I ask the man.

He sighed and settled onto his chair. "Yes, now where was I?"

"Mankind has been here for three seconds." I remind him.

Damien snaps his fingers. "Right!" He grinned. "We've been here for three seconds and look at what we've done. The polar ice caps are melting by the day, more animals are been endangered while more people keep hunting them for money. The ozone layer depletes letting in dangerous ultraviolet rays that kill people..."

He continues. "Deforestation rate is off the roof, people die every second, the infant mortality rate is high, poverty is high, racism is the order of the day, father killing son..."

Damien paused and cleaned his mouth. "Mother Nature isn't going to cause the apocalypse, we are."

"So that's the point of the Devil's Order?" I ask. "To stop man from killing this earth."

"Yes!" Damien said. "When Mariah comes she will save this world from destruction."

"Why Mariah?" I say. "I mean...why can't you guys just like pray to God."

Damien snickers and fiddles with a pen. "If God existed, none of this would be happening."

I stare at him. But the Bible had predicted what would happen at the end of days. So what everything that was happening now God had already foreseen it.

"When is she coming?" I ask.

"In a few years," Damien said. "We draw our power from her homeworld...a place we like to call the demonverse."

Damien smiled at my face. "I haven't told you how the devil's order was formed, have I?"

I shook my head. Now that's a story I'd like to hear. The origin behind this diabolical cult.

Damien took in a deep breath. "In 1624, a phenomenon occurred in outer space, the eight planets of our solar system lined up together in their orbits and then a doorway from the demonverse opened and Mariah stepped into our world for the first time.

"Now a couple of people encountered her and once she showed them her powers they worshipped her."

"Wow," I say.

"She could only stay on earth for a few days and during that time she saw the evils of our world. Before she left, she promised the people that she would come and save earth from destruction and at that moment she initiated the first members of the Devil's Order."

Damien shifted in his seat. "Now to do that, we must have a lot of people in the devil's order and we would use our power to keep her here."

"You guys are crazy!" I say. "You're going to bring someone who wants to take over the planet!"

Damien nods. "Yes, and she's going to end our suffering. Don't you get it Chad?"

I was speechless.

"Now I know that you have four more kills to make," Damien said. "I will do all I can to cover your tracks, you understand?"

Damien folded his arms. "I can't tell you the rest of the story until you finish the six sacrifices. You have until the end of the month. . . remember?"

I opened my mouth to talk but I couldn't form words, tears flowed down my eyes. Now that I knew what the Devil's Order stood for, I didn't want to be a part of it.

"I don't want in," I choked out. Damien laughed and wiped my tears. "You can't Chad, or you'll die."

"Then kill me," I say.

Damien laughed. "Don't try me." His face became stern. "Trust me you'll understand why we're doing this."

I sniffed. "You're going to destroy the world."

"No, we aren't." Damien's eyes glowed. "Tou Teg." He said.

I suddenly stood up against my will and found myself opening his door and stepping out into the hallway.

Students were now in the hallway chatting away and standing by their lockers. I guess I missed lunch.

I waited at the front of his door recalling everything he had told me. A demon called Mariah was going to come and destroy this world.

Damn it Chad. A voice in my head said. What's wrong with their plan? It's not like you can stop them.

Yeah, I thought.

And besides, if Mariah enslaves the world she'd probably leave her followers alone and you'd enjoy yourself.

"You're so fucking right." I smile. The world probably deserved what's coming by the way. We had tortured this planet for too long.

I was about to walk away when a student ran past me, his eyes filled with shock and terror and was shouting.

"Oh my God!! Frederick and Matt were fucking murdered!! Their bodies are in the toilet, covered with blood!!! Oh my Fucking God!!"

Students began murmuring and running to the boy's toilet, while some laughed and snickered thinking it was a joke.

Well, I guess someone was going to discover their bodies sooner or later. I laugh and follow the crowd to the boy's toilet.
