King Dice's pov: I was taking my break outside when out of the corner of my eye I see a small almost child like figure I walked to it and it was a child! they had short, messy, brown hair their clothes weren't at all needed the only thing keeping them warm is a blanket and that wasn't working they were shivering I asked them if they were okay as I got onto their level they shook their head as they let out a small cough that worried me

"m-my mom said I couldn't go i-in I haven't seen h-her come back y-yet" the child said they sounded like a girl I gave her my hand and told her I'd find her mother she took my hand and I used the back door that lead to my office when I asked for her name

"m-my name is Lucy" Lucy said then I saw her eyes they were a dull green as if she had no soul I left the room after telling her not to leave until I come back and I knocked on my boss The Devil's office door he made a "enter" sound and I went in I told him about Lucy and what happened 

"how old are we talking about?" Devil asked as he looked up I told him around 7-8 then aked why he pinched his nose angrily shooting me a glare

"I ask the questions here Dice bring the child to me I will decide what to do now chop chop" Devil said I nodded and went back to my office to see the child asleep she looked so helpless and carefree I gently picked her up and wrapped her in the blanket and took a short cut to Devil 

"bring her here Dice" Devil said I nodded as I handed the child to boss but to our surprise she just cuddled up to him then she said tiredly 

"your eyes are pretty" and went back to sleep I was in shock but I thought it was so cute that she cuddled up to him 

"oh my here did she say that?!" Devil asked I nodded still shocked then he had a soft and almost caring smile 

"I've made my mind up I am keeping this child find the mother and kick her out Dice she will have her right of being this child parent removed" Devil said I nodded seeing how unfit her mother was

"and please tell the mother to come here I will tell her personally" Devil said I nodded and radioed Wheezy who was with the woman she was having her first drink and was still sobered up thankfully while the kid slept on me since Devil had to do work I closed my eyes and fell asleep holding the kid close

Lucy's pov: I woke up to a door opening I saw my mom the man with the pretty eyes

"this your mom?" I nodded to him not knowing whats going fully mom didn't look happy and was glaring at me again

"ok please wake up Dice" I nodded again and woke up Dice that was the name of the man who saved me 

"hmm? oh hey your up that's your mom?" Mr.Dice asked I nodded then Mr.Dice started to say very big words I didn't know and something about abandoning a child did mom do that to me? then mom started to yell and that scared me I hid behind dice then he pat my head 

"you know what keep her!" my mom yelled then something inside me snapped I wasn't controlling my body I asked her why quietly 

"speak up brat" mom said not knowing what I said when I yelled about why she didn't care about me she just stared at me 

"because you are a worthless, awful, mistake and now freak of nature goodbye" mom said then she left I fell to my knees tears running down my cheeks then Mr.Dice picked me up and hugged me 

"shhh its ok your none of those things Lucy" Mr.Dice said hugging me still when the man with the pretty eyes came closer as well 

"hey she said we could keep you and we will that woman doesn't deserve you" the pretty eyes man said calming me down I thanked them 

"of course now get more rest you deserve it" Mr.Dice said I nodded and went back to sleep having good dreams for once in my life

Dice's pov: she fell asleep in my arms I smiled and sat back on the couch holding her to my chest when Devil spoke

"wow Dice your good with kids why?" Devil asked I sighed and told him I used to have a sister named Minnie but my ma and pa sold her but I wasn't going to let anyone take Lucy away from me 

"heh Dice don't worry nobody will take her away from us" Devil said patting Lucys head gently when I told him we should introduce everyone to her he nodded seeing how its going to be tough keeping her in one room all the time and that it would be easier to let her have her own room as well the Devil nodded and put pillow and blanket on the couch 

"both of you sleep you need it I can clearly see dark circles under your eyes as well as the kids" Devil said I sighed and laid down Lucy on my chest sleeping soundly I softly smile at this she was never going to be hurt again no matter what I saw the Devil talking softly to some imps with hard hats on I closed my eyes holding Lucy close to me
