From the author... Don't hate me.

~Angelica~

🎼My heart raced as I stood at the top of the balcony looking down at the hall where everyone stood. My 'family' if I can still call them that, my classmates the ones I know and don't and the angels. A host or anchor for each side.

A gang of Dark angels I realised were scouting the area while Blaz stood next to Michael and one lonely Light at opposite ends of the room. I avoided looking at the both of them. Both were very interested in staring right through to my soul. It actually hurt my head feeling the burning gazes.

I clenched the railing feeling my back muscles tighten and strain and I bit back the cry while walking down the steps. The live band played and people applauded. Applauding my entrance, a part of me felt proud and smug, a feeling I'm not familiar with.

I gulped.

Something is wrong with me.

Deep breath. "Hey everyone!" They cheered. Then the party really began and the music blared out of the speakers almost making me stumble on the steps.

Warm hands gripped my wrists and helped on the last step walking me more into the crowd.

"Ronny?" I muttered. He gawked at me looking dazed as if he couldn't believe he was here. I haven't seen him in awhile. And yes that was done on purpose.

"Angelica you look-l-look..." He grinned.

"Um thank you? Do you mind letting me go?"

"If I have to." He loosened his grip then finally released my hands and I took a step back.

"Yeah I have guests to greet."

Get away, get away, get away, get away, get away, get away, hey Sally, get away, get away, get away, uh oh Blaz, get away, get away, get away, school choir, hi, hello, thanks, yes you look great, love the shoes, oh thank you, you got me something? No you shouldn't have, yes I invited everyone, only turn sixteen once, ok, get away, get away, get away, get away, Blaz, get away, get away, mole stealing snacks, get away, get away, get away, Robert? Get away, get away, get away, Lara thank God, you look gorgeous, huh? Is something wrong? Oh yeah I'm getting mine soon to... probably in a week I think, hate being a girl sometimes, oh there's Erica... and Blaz, get away, get away, get away, Henry.

Dammit.

"Happy birthday." He said holding a box wrapped in gold paper. I stared at it then stared back at him. "Come on I haven't drenched it in poison. It's not a bomb either."

Don't treat me as if I'm being immature. No I can't say that.

"Enjoy the party." I said instead.

He lowered his present. I nodded and started walking away until he called out for me. "Angie."

I gazed over my shouder. "Yes?"

"Save me a dance." I didn't respond I just continued walking.

Get away, get away, get away.

My breathing hitched as I eyed at the table, the table piled with different coloured presents. "Oh God." I walked to it and looked at every card that had an awkward message. "Too much."

"Why are you avoiding my brother?" I jumped just noticing Erica standing right beside me. These angels are going to be the death of me.

"Jesus Erica don't do that." My spine tingled as if someone was toying around with my vertebrae. "Nice dress." Love the safety pins she actually made that work really well.

"Thank you made it myself. Now open." She ordered holding out her present to me.

"I wish you didn't."

"But I did. Open."

"I'll open them once everyone is gone."

"Fine I'll open it."

"Er~" I bit my tongue as she ripped off the dark wrapping paper revealing a shiny bronze box with brand name in bold silver writing. She got me something expensive!

"Don't worry about the cost I stole it." I snickered believing her. She took off the lid fitting it under the box and with one had unrapped the thin white paper. "I remember catching you admiring this through a shop window." She pulled out a red scarf and I couldn't contain the enchanted smile.

"Erica." I felt the soft material with my fingers and wrapped it around my neck. "You terrible horrible friend."

"I know." She grinned. I took it off and she packed back into the box leaving it on the table with the rest of my presents. "Now you still haven't answered my question."

"You know what Erica. It's my birthday so ask your brother."

She perked her brow and crossed her arms under her breasts. "Sassy much?" My back muscles tensed and I gripped the end of the table my arms shaking uncontrollably. "Angelica?" She felt my back and I felt searing pain wherever she touched. I bit back the scream and backed away from her touch. Her silver eyes were wide with worry. "Angelica." She whispered. "What time were you born?"

"What? I don't know. Why?" Before she could answer Ronny came up to me.

"Dance?"

"She's busy." Erica spat.

"She don't look it."

"Great grammar." I whispered pushing him into the crowd. I said to Erica I'd talk with her later. Being near her made my back ache so I put large distance between us and danced with Ronny. He began to infuriate me by putting his hands on my waist and I would either dodge, swing my hips or just smack his hands away.

"You're no fun." He laughed.

"Hey Ronny how about giving me a turn?" Henry stepped up nudging him out of the way. Ronny looked ready to complain but I just clung on Henry before he could. "You're welcome." He whispered in my ear.

"Shut up."

"No."

"It's my birthday." I was spun around away from him and suddenly in Ranger's arms. "What the f-?"

"Hey." Henry grabbed Ranger's shoulder. So Ranger flicked his hand back throwing pink petals in Henry's face. I gasped at his dazed expression and Henry skipped away entranced.

"Ranger!" I hissed at him. He grinned spinning me around off my feet. The turn made me want to vomit on his shoulder. "You can't just do that."

He stared at me with eyes wide and cheeky suspicious smile. "You've had experience with this flower?"

"Deadly stuff." I whispered but the way I had said it. The tone was too inviting and it made him beam. I almost asked if he had anymore of those druggish flowers for my pain. I bit my tongue again.

A figure appeared right next to us with his hand out. "May I cut in?" Blaz asked glaring at Ranger. Up close he still appeared bashable.

"Sure he's all yours." I walked leaving them in the awkward position. "Mr Cat." I whipped my head around in several directions and came to a halt at the stairs I had walked down from. There were plenty of other doors, maybe I can find some quiet space. A bathroom with drugs in the cabinet. This is what it's all come down to, the sixteen year old on drugs.

I rushed up the stairs trying to kind of be invisible. Practically impossible when you're the colour of a firetruck.

But alas!

I found a private study behind the dark wooden door and locked it behind me while leaning against it. I thought being away from everyone I would be able to breathe but I still felt my chest was constricting.

Knock knock

I remained quite.

"I can hear you breathing princess. Open." He's bluffing. "Princess." He doesn't know. "Fine then forget about your present."

Present?

I slightly opened the door. "You did not get me something."

"I did." I gazed around him.

"Is anyone else with you?"

He answered by pushing the door and my body with it back to let him in. I stepped away further into the middle of the room and he closed the door staring at the floor. The fact that he won't meet my gaze concerns me.

I directed my eyes down at the hand in his pocket. "Is that a gun in there?" He smiled the stared up at me sinisterly through his lashes.

He actually got me a gift?

He muttered back. "It's even more dangerous than that." I couldn't tell if he meant that in a dirty fashion or if it was some kind of dagger in there... Or maybe a grenade. "I hope you like it."

"It's not someone's hand is it?" I asked warily only half joking. He slipped the hand out of his pocket and I kept my calm when I noticed it was a little box. Not a dangerous hand grenade although it still could be once I open it.

"Happy birthday my princess."

"I'm not yours." I declared seriously gently snatching the parcel. He still had a hold of it perking his brow.

"You are my princess."

"You're deluded."

"Fine then forget the present."

"Leave it with the rest of them downstairs. And make sure the door hits you on the way out." I turned around to walk to the old untouched fireplace. Automatically it set alight and I flinched.

"I want to see you opening it."

"You and your sister are so demanding." I muttered turning to him. He was right behind me so my face almost knocked into his and I gasped. "You shouldn't have gotten me anything."

"True." He shrugged. I snickered and ripped off the paper. I opened the lid to the little jewellery box heart racing at threatening speeds.

"Dark angel wings." Use anything to make a claim. Wearing this will be like putting a stamp on my forehead saying I'm his. And that is why I refused. "Put it on for me." I gazed into those dark pools feeling my lips slightly pout. The little traitors.

He nodded and pulled off my necklace breaking it. I gasped ready to snap at him but his face got too close to mine that I panicked. I was about to turn but his hand snapped out holding my bicep. His eyes said don't move as he slowly, slowly clipped the necklace on leaning his whole face in my neck to see the clip. "Don't do it." I ordered flustered. He kissed my neck and I sighed blissfully but managed to make it seem like a scowl. "You did it."

"I'm just giving the birthday girl what she wants." He purred in my ear. I shut my eyes and listened his hungry breaths.

"If you really were you would have already left and..." He cupped my face bringing it right to his. However he just stared at me wildly. A part of me lost control and pulled at his bottom lip with my teeth but I let go gaining the control back.

Snap and release that's what that bite felt like. I felt my new necklace rise with my chest as I took each ragged breath. He traced my collar bone wih his finger and I felt his lips meet the corner of my lips. I winced knowing I should probably push him back.

"Let's dance." I said instead. The music is loud enough for us to hear and with the permission he laced our fingers and found the small of my back to push our bodies close. My face fell forward on it's own into his neck and he rested his cheek against against mine. We slowly swayed, I felt that we were graceful as we stepped. We somehow new each others bodies, somehow avoided each others feet. We breathed in each other in like wolves would do to recognise their pack members but this was more intimate. I felt like the Luna wolf with her Alpha, oh let's face it. I feel like Nala with Simba.

I knew to well where his hands were how they didn't shift from place and stayed glued to where a good guy usually keeps them. For once it annoyed the hell out of me and I pressed my body into his as a plea. The thrust shook my spine and I clenched tight on his shoulder biting away the pain. He nipped at my flesh along my neck and my eyes snapped open.

I screamed in agony. He probably would have pulled away if I had't pushed him back and fell to the floor. Instead of helping me he knelt down and held me down muffling my screams with his hand.

"Blaz it hurts." I whimpered. I screamed agai and he covered my mouth again. I turned over arching my back up while I feel a thousand needles trying pierce out from my skin. He held me down to the floor my chest pressed against the wood as he unzipped the back of my dress.

"I know." He said calmly. Why is calm? It infuriated me.

"Make it stop." I cried. "Blaz please make it stop."

"It will be over soon I promise."

"I'm dying."

"You're not dying... What time were you born?"

"Why are people asking me that!?"

"Princess!" He growled down at me. "I love you."

I screamed until I passed out.

Yeah I know... I'm a bitch.
