Chapter 14: The Raid

Leah was an exceptional researcher. I fought to have her included on the team for this reason – not, as Jean slyly suggested, because I had fallen in love with her. That happened later. She was entranced by Jean's Cosmic Wheel hypothesis. She applied it to the concept of collective unconscious first proposed by Carl Jung, theorising that the unconscious lay outside the body: something perceived rather than possessed, like a transmission from a distant star. Sadly, she died in the process of testing the hypothesis, and her work was never resumed.
