“Where are we going? Tell me, now” Kaida scowled as Ace guided her to the forest near the cottage. They had moved in here for Christmas and now that New year was close. Ace felt like it was the right time to make his demand.

“Be patient, love” Ace said as he held his blindfolded Assassin who was clearly impatient.

“Fine” Kaida grumbled, making him chuckle. He held her closer and walked deeper into the forest till they reached the middle of it where a beautiful long table was decorated with Kaida’s favourite cake and pastries. All around them, the trees were decorated with golden lights giving the atmosphere a soft warm glow.

Pictures of them together during the past months hanging all around the branches of the trees. Each one held a special moment. Pictures of them with Kaida over his shoulder at the Amusement park, others with them at parties with matching suits, some with her on his lap in the pool, them on the rooftop completely wasted. They had both grown up a lot from the first time they met and their bond had only strengthened during the past months. Ace now wanted nothing more than to make her, his officially.

“Alright, you can look now” Ace whispered removing the blindfold.

He watched as Kaida sucked in a breath looking around in awe, “Oh my God.. Ace this is so beautiful” She whispered staring at each pictures with a soft gaze filled with love and affection and warmth.

“My favourite pastries!”Kaida smiled brightly, her eyes shining with happiness as she headed towards the table making him chuckle. If Kaida was ever mad, all he needed to do was buy her pastries and she would be all lovey dovey. His assassin had a softer side to her beneath all that calm and cold demeanor. A side Ace got to see a lot during the past few months.

“Why did you do all this?”Kaida asked finally turning to look at him, her eyes full of love.

Ace took a deep breath and got down on one knee holding her hand with a soft gaze. “This year has been one hell of a ride, it changed me in ways I never expected but I don't regret anything. And if there's one thing I realised during this whole year was that you, my Leonessa has claimed my heart. From the moment I saw you, I was done for. There was something about you from the start that called to my soul. Trying to resist you, trying to stop loving you, it was like fighting a wildfire with a fire extinguisher. It was useless, and it only made it burn brighter. I know with certainty that you are my one and only, baby. ”

Ace took another deep breath before continuing as Kaida stared into his eyes completely enthralled. “That's why today, on this fateful night I wish to ask you, my beautiful Kaida, to make me the happiest devil alive by becoming my wife. I wish to wake up everyday to find you safely asleep in my arms and go to bed each night with your head on my chest. I want to grow old with you and make you the mother of my kids.”

“My beautiful Assassin, My Goddess, My Loving Leonessa, will you marry me?”Ace finally asked, pulling out a red velvet box out of his pocket and opening it to reveal a beautiful red ruby diamond ring shaped in the form of a heart with the word Unbreakable engraved on the inside.

Kaida gasped, staring at the ring with an awe struck gaze. Her charcoal grey eyes shining brightly under the golden lights with a soft loving gaze. “Yes” She whispered breathlessly.

Ace grinned, his heart swelling with love as he slipped the ring on her finger and lifted up her in his arms kissing her lovingly. “I love you” He whispered holding her close to him.

“I love you more, my devil” Kaida whispered back holding him tighter.

Cheers erupted all around them making Kaida flinch in surprise as Valentino, Lucasia, Orion, Ares, Alex, Ace’s grandma and even Evan came out of their hiding spot with bright smiles, their eyes shining with warmth, love and excitement.

“You guys really couldn't wait for a second longer” Ace asked rolling his eyes.

“Of course not, I can barely contain my excitement! I'm going to plan everything for the wedding!”Lucasia said smiling brightly.

Kaida chuckled softly and Ace slowly put her down on her feet hugging her from behind tightly. “I leave it all to you, mom” Kaida said making Ace smile. He was happy to see Kaida more at ease and carefree with his family now.

They were all more united than ever and Kaida had clearly gotten closer to his mother. Even Valentino had grown overprotective over her like a father with his daughter. Kaida had also started working as an assassin for them and had donated all of Ricardo’s wealth to charities and organisations fighting for women's rights. Everything was finally falling back into place and the underworld had grown calmer now that Ace and Kaida were together. A mafia boss and an Assassin was a deadly combination which everyone seemed to have taken notice of.

To say Ace was proud of that was an understatement. After all, everyone in the underworld now knew Kaida as The Devil's Assassin. The only one who could tame his inner devil. They were both feared and well respected by everyone. And this was no ending. This was just the beginning of a long life full of happiness, peace and of course lots of thrill.
