Kaida’s heart raced as she entered inside the mansion of Ace’s parents. “Relax, I promise they are not mad at you, okay” Ace whispered, holding her hand tightly which comforted her but she was still worried and anxious.

It's been a week now since she moved in with Ace in his penthouse and she had never been happier. They were both slowly getting to know each other more and spending more time together. They even went on dates, to the movies, to the beach, long drives late at night and of course to the Amusement park.

They both looked happier and the penthouse had never been so full of light and joy. Kaida finally felt at peace and at home. It felt like the calm after a long and tortuous storm, the peace slowly spreading over her soul after much pain and healing. She was content but the thought of coming here made her tense up. She truly wanted to make a place for herself in their heart and hoped they wouldn't reject her and give her a chance to redeem herself.

“Welcome back home, my son,” Valentino said as he walked down the stairs coming into the living room with Lucasia by his side. Both of them staring at her calmly.

“To what do we owe this visit?”Ares asked, staring at her with a calm and collected gaze leaning against the doorway leading to the kitchen. Alex next to him while Orion watched her quietly from the couch, his expression neutral.

Kaida remained quiet gathering her thoughts. She took a deep breath and stared at Ace who gave her a reassuring nod. Taking comfort in knowing he was here, she finally spoke “I came here to apologise.. Words aren't enough to describe how remorseful I am for disappointing all of you. You all welcomed me with open arms and showered me with love and affection even if I didn't deserve it. You treated me with kindness, warmth and respect.”

She looked up at each of them before continuing “And I'm truly sorry for hurting all of you and for even daring to think about taking Ace away from you. It was wrong of me. There's no excuse for what I was going to do but I truly wish to make up for my past mistakes and choices. I truly love Ace and having dinner with all of you the other time had brought back the comfort and joy I used to feel with my family. I will forever be thankful for the warm welcome you offered me even when I was a stranger”

“Each one of you is very important to me and I sincerely hope you will allow me to be in your lives once more. And give me a chance to earn your forgiveness"Kaida whispered softly, her heart racing as Lucasia and Valentino approached her.

“From the moment my son had his eyes on you, you were already a member of the King family, sweetheart,” Lucasia said, making her release a breath she didn't know she was holding.

“You are forgiven my child. Sometimes we make reckless choices for those we hold close to our heart and I understand that. You realised your mistake. That's what matters” Valentino said, staring at her with a soft gaze for the first time.

Kaida’s eyes flickered with tears and she hugged Lucasia tightly “Thank you, thank you so much for allowing me to be a member of your family”

“There.. There.. As from now on, you can call me mom mhm?”Lucasia said, rubbing her back soothingly which only made Kaida hug her tighter.

“We are glad to see you back, Kaida,” Orion finally said with a kind smile.

Kaida broke the hug and nodded “Thank you”

“I have yet to know about you but as far as I heard you are the perfect match for my nephew” A man in his late 40s said with a kind smile and soft mischievous brown eyes.

Kaida raised an eyebrow curiously having never met the man before.

“I'm Evan, Lucasia’s best friend” The man said with a soft chuckle.

“oh.. Nice to meet you” Kaida said, smiling faintly.

“The pleasure is returned,” Evan said with a grin.

Ace smiled, his eyes filled with warmth and affection. “I told you they would accept you, love”

“Anything for our beloved Ace” Alex said smiling at her with a soft gaze.

Ares nodded in agreement. “Don't betray us again. I'm in no mood to deal with a depressed family. Trust me they are unbearable like that especially Alex” He said with a hint of teasing earning soft chuckles from everyone.

Kaida smiled softly. “I won't. You have my word”

Ares nodded curtly with a smile tugging at the corners of his lips“I'll hold you to that”

“It's good to see my grandchildren finally happy” Ace’s grandma said standing by the backdoor with a soft smile, her hazel eyes tender and loving.

Kaida’s heart swelled with love at their loving and caring gazes. After everything that had happened, she had truly thought she lost everything. But here she was with not only the love of her life but an entire loving family by her side. Even though she would always miss her parents and the family members she had lost, she now had Ace and his family with her during every step of the way ahead. And she was going to cherish them with all her heart and soul.
