At the moment, Angelina and I sat in the corner of Mrs. Brooks classroom, our notes scattered on the desk we sat at. But the funny thing was, we weren't talking about the project, we were talking about the festival tonight.
Angelina was explaining all the things she did last year and all the events that'll happen there," And at the end of the festival, they'll have a small firework show!" she continued, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
I leaned my head against my arm as I stared at Angelina with loving eyes. I have only known Angelina for 5 days, and yet I felt a warm sensation when she was near, my chest hurt, and I couldn't help but stare at her in awe.
Angelina wore a yellow laced long sleeve shirt, her blond curls tied in a ponytail, while a pencil was tucked behind her ear. A weird thing that I've noticed was that Angelina never wore tank-tops of any kind, I mean, she only wore long sleeves for some odd reason. Maybe it was because of her faded scars on her arms? I wasn't really sure...
" Lucifer?" Angelina questioned, waving her hand in front of my face," Are you ok? You're spacing out."
I blinked a few times, realizing that I did in fact space out," O-Oh, sorry Angel." I replied, rubbing the nape of my neck nervously.
She smiled," It's fine. I was just asking when you wanted to meet up for the festival." She commented, stretching her arms out since we've been sitting here for awhile," So what time?"
" When does it start again?" I asked, as Angelina let out a small giggle," What is it?"
" Nothing~" She chimed, before grabbing the festival flyer from underneath our notes," Here, it says that it'll start at 5:00."
I grabbed the flyer from her hands, rereading it before speaking again," How about 6:00-ish?" I asked, as Angelina nodded excitedly.
" That'll be gre-"
The sound of the bell cut Angelina off. We then began to pack everything up, and Angelina now pulled her ponytail out, her hair slowly falling back down, past her shoulders.
Once she put all of her belonging away, Angelina looked back at me," See you at lunch?" she asked, tilting her head a bit as she smiled at me.
I nodded," Yeah, she you at lunch Angel." I replied, as she blushed at her nickname.
She gave me a quick hug before running off to her next class. I swung my backpack onto my right shoulder and began to head to my own class.
-----
It was lunch time again, and me and Angelina peacefully sat under the willow tree eating. " I'm SO glad today's Friday..!" Angelina sighed, falling on to grass.
" Why?" I asked, leaning my back against the tree near her.
" It means we can stay at the festival longer! Plus, we don't have to worry about school." She replied, smiling as she stared up at the blue sky, her golden curls scattered along the grass.
I was, yet again, off in my own world as I stared at Angelina who began to count all the clouds.
What would Angelina think of me if I told her I liked her? Would she get mad? Would she get embarrassed?
I had no idea how I got myself thinking about it but it really bugged me, did she even like me?
I continued thinking till Angelina snapped me back to reality," Huh? What is it?" I asked, adjusting myself back into the real world.
" Nothing, I was just wondering why you were looking so serous." She replied, now sitting up on the grass while taking a sip from her water bottle that she had brought.
" Serous? I wasn't looking serous." I commented, taking a bite from the sandwich Angelina had brought me.
" Uh, yes you were." She stated, smirking at me," You must have been thinking about something..."
She scooted closer,"...Or someone~"
I felt my cheeks heat up a bit," N-No..!" I stuttered, looking away from her.
" Ahah! I was right!" She cheered, feeling proud of herself," So who is it? Is it someone I know?"
I stayed silent, not wanting to give it away," Oh come on Lucifer, tell me!~" She whined, hanging onto my left arm," Please..?"
I looked back down at her, to see Angelina giving me to cutest pouty-face I've ever seen. I finally gave in,"...It is someone you know..." I started, not making eye contact with her,"...and you're really close to her."
" Is it Kate?" She blurted, stilling holding onto my arm.
" Hell no!" I shouted, looking at her shocked," No way in the world would I like her!"
" Why? You guys seemed to have a good conversation this morning..." She said, her voice sounding a bit hurt,"...you sure it isn't her?"
" Of course not." I said, facing my body towards her," I like someone who's a lot sweeter then her. Someone who's close to me."
I was really trying to give her a hint, if it wasn't too obvious," Kira?" She questioned, tilting her head as if she didn't understand anything I just said.
" I give up!" I groaned, falling onto the grass with my hands raised.
' She can't even take a hint!? How blind is she?! ' I thought as I laid on the grass.
" I'm sorry! I'm bad at guessing." She stated, crawling over to the right side of me,.
It was silent for a moment, before I began to laugh," What's so funny?" She asked, looking at me in confusion.
" You thought Kira was sweeter than Kate?" I laughed, a huge grin on my face.
" H-Hey! I didn't know!" She stated, playfully glaring at me," Besides, I still don't know that much about you or your life, it could be anyone!"
I stopped laughing, looking over at Angelina who stared off in the distance," I mean, you know a whole lot about me, but I know very little about you. Isn't that weird?" She asked, turning her head to face me.
" There's not a lot to talk about when it comes to me." I replied, sitting back up on the grass.
" Of course there is." Angelina said, giving me a small smile," There's always more then meets the eye."
" Are you quoting movies now?" I asked playfully, as Angelina grew frustrated with me.
" It's a popular saying!" She protested.
I let out a small chuckle," Alright alright." I said, pulling out my phone to check the time," Lunch is about to end..."
" Aww...but I want to stay here with you..!" Angelina whined, falling back on to the grass again.
" It's fine Angel. That just means that we'll be going to the festival sooner." I stated, grinning at her as she perked up.
" You're right!" She said excitedly, beginning to pack her things up," Well let's hurry up then!"
A smile danced upon my lips as I began to pack all of my stuff up as well.
Once we both finished, we began to head down the hill together. I watched carefully as Angelina skipped down the hill cheerfully, she was like a ray of sunshine.
As we reached the glass doors of the school building, we heard the bell ring," See you later?" She said, looking at me with a small smile.
I nodded," Yeah, see you later Angel." I said, waving as Angelina cheerfully ran to her next class.
