12.

I intently waited for Angelina at the front of the schools library, a small smile tugging on my lips as I repeated what happened at lunch in my head. But then, the memory of the text came to mind, replacing my smile with a frown. I pulled out my phone again and reread the text.

I had no idea who this was, and it couldn't be someone I know because I never gave my phone number out to anyone, besides Angelina of course.

My thoughts were interrupted by an angelic voice calling my name, I turned my head around to see Angelina running towards me, her golden curls bobbing up and down while she clutched her book to her chest.

She smiled brightly at me once she reached me," Ready to go in?" She asked, about to walk in, but I grabbed her arm softly.

" No," I said with a playfully smirk, while Angelina gave me a look of confusion," I was thinking we'd take off for now, head into the city for a bit."

She had a nervous smile on her face as she shook her head no," I'm sorry, I can't leave the school till one of my Father's employs come to pick me up..."

I titled my head a bit," Your Father doesn't even pick you up?" I questioned.

Angelina nodded nervously," Yeah, he's always too busy with work to do anything else. Even take care of me.." She frowned at the memory of her dad.

I could tell her family was a touchy subject for her," Well, if he's not picking you up, then we shouldn't have to worry!" I said, pulling Angelina towards the front door's of the school," and whether you like it or not, we're heading to the city. You need a break."

" And you? Don't you need a break?" She asked, putting her book away as we finally got out of the school building.

" Sure I do, but right now, you're the one in need." I said, giving her a small smile as we continued our way toward the city.

After a bit of debating, we finally decided to head to Grand park, a place dotted with fountains, picnic lawns, bright pink benches and plenty of nooks from which to sit and people-watch, Grand Park is a bright urban oasis that proves the city has a sense of romance.

It wouldn't be my first choice of a place to go, but Angelina seemed to really, REALLY want to go. So I agreed and now here we were, sitting peacefully at a fountains.

Angelina hummed a soft tune as she stared off at all of the grass and trees. It was really pretty here, but it wasn't my scene.

" So..." I began, but was cut off by Angelina's voice.

" T-Thanks for letting us come here..." her voice seemed to tremble a bit.

I looked over at her to see small tears creasing her cheeks, yet, she was still smiling," M-My Mother and Father use to bring me here when I was younger..." She said, trying to whip her tears away,"..I haven't been here since she died... the place is as pretty as I remember..."

I placed my hand on her back, rubbing my hand up and down to help sooth her, but it didn't seem to work," I-I miss her so much...! My life has been liking a living hell since she died!"

She began to sob in her palms, slowly getting the attention of other people.," Let's take you somewhere else.." I stated, gently lifting Angelina from her spot on the fountain and walking her over to a bench off in the distance, hoping no one would see the scene that'll occur.

Once we sat down, Angelina dug her head into my chest, sobbing her heart out again, and all I could do was hug her as tight as I can, my head slightly resting on top of hers, her hair smelling like sweet vanilla," Shh, everything is ok..." I said, trying to calm her down.

She shook her head," I-It isn't! I've been living a lie! People think I live a prefect life, but I don't!" She cried, she tears soaking my shirt," I've been neglected and alone for years... it's hard to keep that all in..."

" Then why do you?" I questioned, gently lifting Angelina off my to see her face," Why do you bottle all of this up?"

She let out a sad sigh," B-Because...my problems don't matter..." She replied, looking down at her lap," I'd rather help others then worry about myself, because someone has a more difficult life then me, so I should be-"

" No." I cut her off, my tone becoming more serous," Everyone has problems, but that doesn't mean you keep them in, its not good for you..."

" I-I'm sorry for crying..." she stated, not making any eye contact with me," I-I kinda ruined the peaceful moment back there...it's just this place brings back memories...."

I gave her a calm smile," It's fine, it's been a ruff day so crying would help..." I reassured, rubbing her back. She turned her head, smiling at me while tears still ran down her face. I lifted my right hand to her cheek, gently whipping her tears away with my thumb," A pretty girl like you shouldn't be crying..." I stated, a calm smile on my face,"...you look better when you're smiling..."

A light shade of red tinted her cheeks as she stared at me bashfully, her beautiful blue eyes seemed to sparkle in a way I couldn't explain,"...You have such pretty eyes..." I commented, feeling my own cheeks heat up," You now that right?"

' What am I doing...?! I complementing her like we were dating!!' I mentally scolded myself, but kept a small smile of my face," N-No... this is the first time I've heard it..." she replied bashfully, looking away from me while my right hand stayed on her cheek,"...T-Thanks..."

" You're welcome." I replied, not wanting to move from my position. I wanted to stay like this forever, but of course, good moments must always come to an end.

I felt a vibration come from my pocket, I sadly moved my right hand from Angelina's cheek, grabbing my phone to see I got another text message.

   The devil on a date?

I felt panic rise up within me, I began to scan the area to see if anyone was watching, but I found no one," Are you ok Lucifer?" Angelina asked, her face written with worry.

I nodded," Y-Yeah, I'm fine..." I reassured, stilling looking around the area to see if anyone was watching us, but then turned my head to face Angelina again," How about we head back to school?"

I gave her a nervous smile, hoping that'll make her want to head back or something," We haven't been here for that long..." She said, looking down a bit,"...but ok."

I knew she'd be a bit sad, but it was for our safety, since someone might be watching us. I got up from the bench, lending out my hand to Angelina, who gladly took it. We then began to head back to school, Angelina and I walked along side each other, a peaceful silence between us. I kept a watchful eye out for anyone following us, but my attention quickly turned to Angelina, who by accident, brushed her hand against mine, as if she wanted to get my attention.

' Her hands feel so soft and tiny...I wish I could hold them...' I thought, my face heating up as I stared at Angelina, who was avoiding my gaze. I quickly tried to shake off the thought, but it still lingered.

I tried to continue scanning the area, but I was completely oblivious to the stranger, cloaked in black, who stood on the roof top of a building near by, watching us go back to school. He wore a sick grin as he watched," Closer and closer they get, till....crack! They split..." he said to himself, walking away from the edge of the building," ..then the devil will have no light in his dark world..."
