Chapter 7: Remember Every Scar.

I was leaving the kitchen when something stopped me.

Sharp, thin, silver wires.

There is only two people I know that can produce such things: Claude Faustus and Walter C. Dornez. Something was not adding up, but I sat the thought aside.

I stood very still, careful not to make waves. The wires hung in the air in dangerous places. In places that if one slip up, I could lose my head. I took a deep breath and regained my composure. I could not let whoever the mysterious person was see my fear.

"Alright Claude," I said, knowing Walter would never betray our family. "Where are you?" I cautiously pulled Leyla closer to me.

A burst of laughter sounded through the halls and in my ears. The maniacal laugh only seemed to add fuel to my fear fire.

"I am not sure how you are alive, but I can think of no other liable source." I said as flashbacks from Claude's death played back in my head.

A roll of thunder rumbled throughout the manor causing the light at the end of the hall to burst and sent sparks flying everywhere, creating a shadow that even the devil himself would be afraid of.

"For years and years I have worked for that wretched woman. I have been put down, disrespected, disgraced. I have lost my pride and my nobility." A dark voice glided through the air along with the clicking of heels against the tiled floor.

"Who are yo-"

"Shut your mouth! You can speak when you are allowed!" The man screamed, causing me to flinch.

"Who the hell do you think you are!" I shouted back, but maybe that was a mistake. The silver wire next to my cheek jerked and cut into my skin.

These are no spider webs.

The footsteps grew louder. "My pride has been lost because of heathens like you."

A jolt of lightning soared through the sky revealing the culprit.

A tall man around the age of twenty five stepped out of the shadows. His hair was long and black that was held together with a black ribbon. On his left eye he wore a monocle that made him appear older than he really was. He wore a black button down shirt and a dark purple vest, accompanied by black pinstripe trouchers and finely polished dress shoes. His eyes were a dark purple that accentuated his pale skin.

"My apologies," The man said in a bow. "Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Walter C. Dornez, The Angel of Death. Ex butler to the Hellsing manor and former master vampire and demon hunter."

"W-walter, wha-?" I could not even finish my sentence.

Walter pulled the glove on his right hand and tucked it back into place. I lowered my head in pity for him. "You are a fool, Walter."

"Are you not impressed? It would appear that I have found the fountain of youth, something you should find for yourself. All thanks goes to The Major. He has turned me into something powerful. Powerful enough to be your eminent demise. I will end you and your beloved demon, much like your poor child."

My head shot straight up towards the bloody bastard. My eyes glowed brighter than they ever had before. Every ounce of fear and respect I had for that man melted away and fell to the ground carelessly.

"What did you just say?" I said harshly.

"Your child is gone, it was I. And you're next!" He shouted as he ran towards me. He jumped over his wires and kicked for my head. But I grabbed his foot, not even caring about the wires at the time, and held him in the air.

"How did yo-" Walter began, but I interrupted him. I looked into his disgusting purple eyes, it was as if we had exchanged expressions.

"If I could not do something as simple as destroy my daughters inhalator," I said as I snapped his ankle in half. "Then what kind of mother would I be!"

Walter threw his head back in a blood curdling scream.

I threw him against the wall and kicked him in the face. I took the ceramic bowl in my hand and lifted it, ready to strike him, but the bowl suddenly disintegrated into tiny bits.

"I see the Angel of Death walks again. Hello, Walter." A deep voice growled from behind me. I turned to see a tall man in crimson.

"Hello, Alucard." Walter said. Alucard placed a finger on his chin in thought. "What have have they done to you?"

Walter stood up from the ground on one foot and brushed himself off. "What have they done to me? Obviously I've been captured, brainwashed, and turned into a vampire. I have been forced against my will to turn my friends and master into bloody shreds." He laughed.

Alucard chuckled as well. "So, you've joined sides with the vampires now. I can just see the hypocrisy illuminating off of your sorry body."

"No Alucard, you are wrong. I answer to no man. I am my own person, in body, mind, and soul. And as the dawns light cuts through the darkness, so shall I reap each of your souls in bloody turn. This new and improved body will guide me to that victory." Walter said.

"Angel of death? Weren't you the one who said Englishmen look forward to growing old? You seemed to have abandoned your maturity. It is truly a shame, you were such a lovely old man. Your body and soul are now corrupted. A dark reaper to the very core, Walter."

Walter slammed his fist against the wall. "Do not call me that! That name brought me nothing but pain and suffering! I will be called that no more!" He shouted as he lunged for Alucard.

"It pains me to do this, old friend."
Alucard brought out his infamous pistol and shot straight for Walter's head, but he dodged it and jumped off to the left, taking his wires with him.

The wires cut into the back of my heels and my neck, but the worst part was my throat. The wires vibrated and quickly cut into my skin, hitting what I assume to be an artery. The wires had cut pretty deep, because I was losing a lot of blood and fast.

"Eva!" Alucard shouted. Walter threw his fist back and hit Alucard straight in the jaw.

"I-I am f-fi...ne." I said as I held onto my neck. He gave me a worried expression and returned his attention to Walter.

I need to try and find a way out of here, but there was no place to go where Walter's wires were not occupying.

"S-Sebas... Sebast-ian. I ne-ed y-ou." I thought to him.

"Love, what is it! Are you alright?" He thought back frantically.

"I-t... it.." I tried my best to get it out, but to no avail.

"It is what love? Speak to me!"

"It's Wa... Walter!" I shouted out loud.

I suddenly felt weak and my legs began to collapse from underneath me.

"Sebastian..." I whispered.

I thought for sure I would have landed on one of the wires, but I fell into a muscular pair of arms.

The very last thing I saw before I fainted, was Sebastian's sad eyes set on Leyla, and then everything went black.
