Chapter 6: Fallen Angels.
"Leyla!" I shouted. I turned on my heels and ran as fast as I could back to the Phantomhive manor. When I got there, I ran up the driveway and kicked down the front door.
"Leyla!" I shouted throughout the halls, but with no answer. "Hello!" I called out.
"I-in.." A strained voice said. "H-here Eva." It sounded like Finny. I ran towards the sound that seemed to have been coming from the kitchen, when I arrived my heart sank.
There laid Finny on the ground covered by a small sized portion of a cement pillar, far too heavy for someone of even his strength to lift.
"Finny!" I shouted as I ran to his side, but something stopped me dead in my tracks.
Craddled in his arms sat my Leyla, completely still and eyes closed.
"Wha... no. It ca-can't." I whispered. Finny looked up at me with dispair written all over his face.
"M-miss E-Eva. I... I couldn't save her!" He burst into tears as he held my lifeless child.
I fell to my knees and hit the floor. "Why does this keep happening to me dammit!" I screamed as I slammed my fists into the marble flooring.
"No." I whispered. Finny wiped away a tear and looked over at me, his eyes widened in surprise. I slowly stood up as my eyes began to change from a deep red to a dark magenta.
"I will not allow this to happen again." I whispered. I walked towards Finny and crouched down until I was hovering over him.
I brought my right hand to my mouth and slowly slid my white glove off and tossed it to the side and did the same with the left.
Using every single ounce of strength I had, I reached my hands under the thousand pound pillar, breaking a finger or two in the process, and threw it out of the way. It flew through the ceiling, causing a vast hole to take shape.
I reached down to my still child and pulled her into my arms.
"It is alright sweetie, mommy has got you." I whispered, knowing she could not hear me.
Finny stood up slowly and brushed himself off. "Are you alright Finnian?" I asked. He nodded his head. "Y-yes Miss E-Eva. Thank y-you."
I looked down into Leyla's eyes and gently closed them. "You are welcome. Now then," I said. "Where are the others?"
His head shot up. "Oh! I forgot about the others! Last time I saw them, they were in the masters study!" Finny shouted as he ran out of the kitchen and down the hall.
I shook my head and ran towards the boy. "Finny wait!" I shouted, trying to stop him.
When I arrived at the young master's study, Finny stood in the doorway like he had seen a ghost.
"Finny, what are yo-" I paused when I looked into the room. Another sense of pain came over me.
The young master laid on his desk face down in a pool of blood. Mey-rin and Bardroy were no where to be seen.
"Finny," I said as I handed him my daughter. "Please take her somewhere safe."
My heart broke as I handed the small child to him. I would have been to Sebastian by now with Leyla, but as always the master came first, and as desperate as I wanted to change that, it was not my place to do so.
"M-miss Eva, I-" Finny protested. "Please, Finny." I whispered as a dark tear threatened to escape from my eye.
He nodded his head and left the room, as I wiped away the tear and rushed towards the young master.
I gently laid my index finger on his exposed wrist and felt for a pulse, but there was not one. I removed my hand and placed it under his head and on the small of his spine and pulled him back into his chair. While doing so, I suddenly felt his eyelids flutter open.
"Sebasti-" He shouted, but looked up at me. "E-Eva, where is Sebastian!"
"My lord, you are hurt!" I said, but he brushed my hand away. "My lord, Sebastian is attending to a disturbance in East London, but I am here young master." I said.
He nodded his head and stood up, but his legs for far too wobbly and would not allow such a thing.
"Young master!" I yelled as he began to fall. I caught him in my arms worryingly.
"I am alright!" He shouted as he slapped my hand away.
I looked away and hung my head in shame for touching the young master. He noticed this and held out a hand to help me up.
"I am sorry I shouted Eva, now," He said as he pulled me up, not really needing the help, but appreciating the masters generosity. "Take me to Sebastian."
"My lord, if I may." The Young master nodded his head. "Go on."
"I have to collect something before we take our leave, will that be at your inconvenience my lord?" I asked.
He shook his head once more. "No, I suppose not." I nodded my head and stepped out of the room.
"Finny!" I called out. "Where are you?"
Finny came running up the hallway with two silhouettes sitting upon his shoulders and one craddled in his arms.
"Bardroy, Mey-rin!" I shouted. "Are they breathing!" I asked panically.
I ran to Finny, took Leyla from him, and looked down at the servants. Mey-rin's glasses were broken and hung off her face. The lower part of her abdomen was bleeding along with her forehead. Bardroy, seeming to have taken the most damage, had a large gash on his cheek that appeared to be pretty deep, his left arm bled profusely along with his right thigh.
"Ugh.." Mey-rin mumbled as she opened her eyes. "What happened?" She spoke in her normal voice.
"I would like to know the same thing." I stated.
"Put me down Finny." Finny nodded and sat her down gently. "How is Bardroy?" She asked as she touched his cheek, but quickly pulling her hand away.
"He is burning up at an alarming rate, we must do something." She said.
(Sebastian's pov)
"Now then, Senyaka. You have brought a great deal of pain to my family, and for that I can not allow you to leave here with your life." I said as venom dripped from my words.
Senyaka threw his head back in a laugh as his eyes glowed a dark lavender.
"Is something funny?" I asked sarcastically.
He lowered his head back down and a smirk grew across his face. White wings that were tarnished with a dark gray emerged from behind him.
"I just find it quite comical that a poor excuse of a demon like yourself believes that he can overtake a soldier of God like me. It is utterly hilarious." He said as he flew into the air, but I jumped for him and grabbed on to his left wing, causing it to rip from his very body.
He screamed out in pain and fell to the ground. I landed gracefully, whereas the angel landed on his leg, breaking it in the process. This would not be the first time this angel has fallen.
"S-Sebastian." He said. "M-my leg." I turned to him and laughed.
"You know Senyaka," I said as I stepped on his broken leg. "I just find it quite comical that a poor excuse of an angel, like yourself, can even hope to attempt to be my eminent demise." The angel cried out in pain, grabbing my arm.
I took his arm in my hand and snapped it between my fingers as if it were a twig. "Ahhhh! You monster!" He screamed. I laughed as I broke it even more.
"You angels talk big, but when it comes to doing so, you always fall rather short." Alucard chuckled
(Eva's pov)
"Eva, can you get me a cold rag please?" Mey-rin asked.
I nodded my head and turned to the young master. "My lord, my apologies, but your request will have to be delayed." I said as I placed a hand over my heart.
He nodded and waved his hand in annoyance. "Very well." I bowed and ran for the kitchen.
I ran through the halls with two things on my mind: Leyla and Sebastian.
I ran into the kitchen and grabbed a wash cloth. I soaked it in cold water for a few moments and poured some into a bowl.
I was leaving the kitchen, when something stopped me.
Sharp, thin, silver wires.
