Chapter 5: 19th Century Breakdown.

(Eva's pov)

"Finny, I do believe that was check mate." I said as I knocked over his king. Finny stared down at me in disbelief. "Eva, how are you so good at chess?" He asked. "A certain someone taught me how to play." I blushed at the thought of Sebastian.

"Mommy," Leyla said. "Do you think daddy will teach me how to play?" I laughed and tousled her silver hair. "Of course my love, he is the best teacher after all, and I do not see him denying his little flower."

Mey-rin propped her elbows up on the table top. "You and Mister Sebastian are so adorable, yes you are!" She chimed. I laughed at her comment and leaned over to her ear. "I think you and Bardroy would be adorable together." I whispered.

Her head shot up towards me and blushed. "I do believe that was an agreement?" I asked, already knowing the answer. She lightly nodded her head. "Y-yes. I believe so." She mumbled."Wha' are the two o' you talkin about?" Bardroy asked.

Mey-rin looked to me for guidance. I nodded my head for her to go on."Well I." She began. "I think we sho-"

"Oh!" She said jumping up from her chair, making it fall to the floor. "The young master is here!" I laughed and shook my head. I was about to stand up and leave, but Bard stopped me. "Hey wha' was that about?" Bard asked as he watched Mey-rin run out of the kitchen.

"Well, Bardroy." I said. "I told Mey-rin that the two of you would make quite an adorable pair." His cheeks lit up in a blush as his cigarette fell out of his mouth and landed on the ground. "W-well I." He studdered.

"Aha!" I shouted. "I knew you had feelings for her!" I said as I clapped happily. "I had been meanin' to talk to her, but I didn' know wha' to say." He said as he rubbed his neck. "I have an idea." I said. "And wha' is that?" He asked. "Let's have a ball! Then you can ask her to it!" I said excitedly."Eva!" Ciel shouted throughout the halls, cutting our conversation rather short. "Finny, will you watch Leyla for me?" I asked. Finny nodded his head. "Of course Ms. Eva!"

(Sebastian's pov)

I opened the door for the young master, releasing the loud voices from the manor."Eva!" The young master shouted. I let out a small sigh remembering I would never hear Eva's lovely voice ever again.

The young master stepped into the manor and I shut the door behind us."Young master." I said with a bow. "I shall have dinner prepared soon." He waved his hand as he walked up the stairs to his study.

"Where is that girl?" He asked himself quietly. I turned my head away from the staircase to be met with Mey-rin. "Mey-rin, why on earth have you and Bardroy not started dinner yet?" I asked as she stared into my eyes intently. She did not answer.

"Mey-rin!" I shouted, causing her to jump. "Oh! I am sorry Mista' Sebastian, yes I am! We were all just." She trailed off. "All what!" I shouted once more, getting quite aggrivated at the girl. She straightened her back up. "P-playin' chess."

I rolled my eyes and appeared in front of her. I felt my eyes burn to a dark magenta and my aura turn very dark as well. Mey-rin started to shiver. "M-Mista' S-Sebastian."

"How many times must I tell the three of you to do your job!" I said as I slammed my fist against the wall, causing a hole to take form."All you three do is destroy everything you touch! You can not even do something as simple as prepare a small meal! This is highly inexcusable." I said in a fit of rage.

"I can not ev-" A very faint sound of sobbing was coming from the maid in front of me. I looked down to Mey-rin as tears fell from her foggy eyes. I shook my head and regained my composure."

My apologies my lady. I do not know what came over me." I said as I knelt to the ground in a bow. "M-mister S... Sebastian. Are you a-alright?" She asked timidly. "I shall be fine, my lady." I said as I stood up straight.

(Eva's pov)

"Young master." I said as I knocked on his study door. "Come in." He said. I slowly opened the door and bowed. "You called for me, my lord?" I asked. "Yes," He said as he motioned for me. "Have a seat."

I nodded and sat down in the leather chair that was seated in front of his desk. "Was there any disturbance while we were away?" He asked. "No, young master." I said while I crossed my legs.

"Very well, I need you to retrieve something for me." He said. "What is it young master?" He crossed his legs as well. "I need you to retrieve some documents at the Funtom company."

"Now?" I asked. He nodded his head. "Yes Eva, here." He said as he handed me his set of silver keys. I stood up from my chair and took them from his hands.

"Young lord, if I may speak." I said. The young master nodded his head. "Very well."

"May Sebastian accompany me?" I asked. "I am sorry, but Sebastian is busy at the moment." He said. I nodded my head and bowed. "Thank you, young master."

I left his study and grabbed my coat. 'Maybe I can stop by Sebastian and tell him hello.' I thought to myself as the clock struck eight. I shook the thought from my head and leapt out the nearest window and landed softly onto the fresh snow.

(Sebastian's pov)

As I placed a finger on my forehead I thought about the events that took place earlier. I could remember the look in Eva's eyes as she struggled for her life, of which I had squeezed the very last of. I could remember as she begged and pleaded me to stop. I began to make myself angry again.

"Why dammit!" I shouted and threw my fist into the hallway wall. My eyes glowed a dark magenta once more. I could not simply hold this back any longer.

"Eva!" I shouted at the top of my lungs. "Why! Why! Why!" I screamed. My body began to change. The heels of my shoes clanked as they changed before my very eyes. My nails grew longer and sharper as well.

I walked past the kitchen and down the hall.

"Oh, Mista' Sebastian, there you a-" I turned to see a very shocked Finny. I smirked and stalked towards him. "S-Sebas...." He stuttered as he stepped backwards.

"What is the matter Finny? Cat go your tongue?" I laughed as I snapped my fingers, making a hell cat appear behind him.

He slowly turned around as certain death lurked behind him. I snapped my fingers once more as to signal him to attack. But as I snapped my fingers, the cat suddenly fell to the ground.

"Alucard." I hissed. Alucard walked out of the darkness and placed a hand on Finny's shoulder. "Get out of here, boy." He said harshly. Finny slowly nodded his head and ran off.

"What are you doing here, Alucard?" I asked. Alucard began to laugh. "I sensed something was wrong here. So I thought I would come and see what it was. Good thing I came in time before you hurt someone." He said.

I threw my head back in a laugh. "It would appear that you are too late for that, vampire." Alucard cocked his head to the side. "Oh?"

"Look around Alucard. Someone appears to be missing, do they not?" I asked. Alucard's eyes widened. "Sebastian. Please tell me you did not." He said.

"I am afraid so. She tried to end me first, with holy water." I replied. "That can not be." He said.

I nodded my head and slowly walked towards him. "Don't do this Sebastian." He said.

I ran towards him as he pulled his infamous pistols out of his coat. He shot at me, but I dodged them as I glanced back with a smirk. I jumped out of the window and landed in the snow.

"Sebastian stop!" Alucard called after me, but I jumped into the trees. I heard him following after me, so I reached into my tailcoat and pulled out three silver butter knives and two forks.

I turned towards the red figure that was a few feet away and flung my silverware at him, he dodged them of course, except for a knife that grazed his shoulder. That seemed to slow him down for a moment.

I ran along the tree tops as fast as I could, until I reached East London. A sweet smell danced in my nose and down my throat. "Yes, that will do." I said.

I ran down a dark alleyway and seemed to have escaped from Alucard. "Now then." I said to myself. I followed the sweet scent that left a growl to escape from my throat.

I came upon a young woman, who appeared to be the age of twenty two. Her soul smelled sweet and completely untainted. She had long red hair and a tall, slender body.

"Miss." I called out. She turned around and her eyes widened in shock as she took in my now ghastly features. She slowly backed into a brick wall and began to tremble.

"W-who are y-you?" She asked with a shiver. "What d-do you w-want?" I began to laugh. "Why I have come to take your soul, my dear."

She tried to turn and run, but her legs would not allow it. I appeared in front of her and shoved her against the wall. She looked up to the sky, leaving her neck exposed.

"Sebastian, where the hell are you!" Alucard called out. "I must make this quick."

"M-make what q-quick?" She asked. I looked down at her pale neck and grazed my fangs along her soft skin. "This." I whispered.

I pierced her skin with my teeth and began to drink her blood. She clawed and my scalp, but I ripped off her hand and threw it off to the side as if it were trash. She screamed at the top of her lungs, which only made me bite down harder.

Her blood tasted of vanilla, sweet and succulent. I sucked every drop of blood from her body and she suddenly became limp. 'Now for dessert.' I thought to my self.

I yanked my fangs from her neck and bit down on her skin that sat right over her heart. I slowly sucked in her delicious soul, it tasted of mint and honey. Virgin souls are always the most satisfying.

When I was finished, I tossed her body to the side and looked up to the moon.

(Eva's pov)

I looked down at the ground and kicked a pebble to the side. "Sebastian! Where the hell are you!" I heard a familiar, dark voice shout.

"Alucard?" I said out loud as I followed the sound of his voice. I jumped onto the nearest roof top and ran for him. "What on earth is going on?" I asked myself.

"I will find you Sebastian, and when I do it will not be good!" His voice rang out once more.

"Alucard!" I called out. "E-Eva? Is that y-you?" He asked as he appeared in front of me. "I thought you were.." He trailed off.

"Thought I was what?" I asked confusingly. "Dead.." He whispered. I raised a brow.

"Why would I be- Wait. Where is Sebastian?" I asked as I started to panic. Alucard lowered his head.

"Dammit Alucard, answer me!" I shouted. He raised his head back up. "He is somewhere in the city, he seems to be going through some sort of rampage." He finally answered.

"Oh no." I whispered. "We have to fi-" I was cut off by a shriek.

"Sebastian!" I shouted as I ran towards the scream. I jumped from roof to roof as the screams became nearer.

"Eva wait!" Alucard called from behind. "It is not safe for you!"

"Not safe? He can not kill me Alucard. He would dare not to try." I said with a hiss. "But Eva!" He said "There's no time!" I shouted back.

The screams rang through my ear as I rounded the corner, a scream erupted from my mouth as well.

Sebastian had a poor young woman by the throat against the wall, while two more bodies lay on the ground.

"S-Sebast...." I whispered. Sebastian's head shot up and stayed there for a moment before slowly turning to me.

"E-Eva. There... I ca-" He stuttered as he fell to the ground on his knees. He placed his face in his hands.

I ran to him and fell to my knees as well. I grabbed his hand in my own and placed my other hand under his chin. I lifted his face up and looked into his eyes, he was crying.

"Sebastian, what happened?" I asked quietly. "Y-you were dead Eva. I-I watched as the life drained from your eyes. I-" He trailed off.

"You what Sebastian?" He looked back into my eyes as black tears fell from his. "I killed you Eva! You were dead and it was because of me!" I looked at him in shock.

"W-what?" I asked "That can not be Sebastian. I am alive, you did not kill m-" I was cut off by a sudden burst of laughter coming from behind me.

Sebastian looked up to the owner of said laugh. "Senyaka? Why are you here?" He asked. I turned to see the white haired man.

"Sebastian, who is that man?" I asked. "He is a messenger. He was the one who handed me th-" Sebastian's eyes began to glow as he stood up.

"The one who poisoned me. The one who I thought was you, my dear. The one I killed." He said with venom dripping from his voice as he stalked towards the man. His shadow began to glow and dance along in the darkness.

"Yes, Sebastian. It was I. I had orders from the man himself." He said as he pointed to the sky.

"Frankly, I do not give a damn as to where you had received your orders. How dare you." He hissed.

Alucard jumped from the roof and landed beside me. "I know this man Eva." He leaned to my ear and whispered. "His name is Senyaka Dantanian, he is an angel that fell not too long ago. He harnesses the power to shape shift and the power to alter the past, present, and future. There is no way he has received orders to end Sebastian. It would be near impossible."

I nodded as I took in this information. "Then why would he be here?" I asked.

"Where is Leyla, my love." Sebastian's voice sounded in my head.

"Oh no."
