Chapter 2: Be Concerned.
"Sebastian! Eva!"
Ciel's pitchy voice called through out the manor.
Sebastian and I shared a sigh. He reached into his breast pocket and pulled out his pocket watch.
"My, it is already a quarter passed three. It is time for tea." He said as he placed the watch back into it's hiding place.
I jumped down from the rafters and walked towards the door. Sebastian jumped as well and followed me out into the hall.
"Love, I have something I would like to discuss with you later this evening."
"Anything I should be worried about dear?" I asked.
Sebastian chuckled. "No my love, you should not be worried in the least."
I nodded my head and returned my attention to the task ahead. We had reached the bottom of the staircase and began to climb up.
After a few steps, Sebastian's hand lightly touched mine. My face lit up with a blush, Sebastian seemed to notice.
"My dear, I find it rather adorable that I still manage to make you do something as simple as blush." He said attempting to flirt.
I giggled and grabbed his large hand with my small one.
"Sebastian, of course you do. You still excite me in every way possible. I do not believe there would be a day where you wouldn't."
Sebastian blushed as well and squeezed my hand.
"You are simply amazing my dear."
"Sebastian! Where are the two of you? I called five minutes ago!" Ciel's voice rang out once more.
We both chuckled and returned to the stairs. When we reached the top, we rounded the corner and came upon the master's study.
Sebastian reached for the knob and motioned me inside.
"Thank you dear." I said with a smile.
"You are most welcome my love."
We arrived into the study and bowed simultaneously.
"My apologies master." Sebastian said as he raised back up. "I do believe it is time for tea."
I arose as well and nodded my head.
"Yes my lord it is, and I have something for you." I said as I grabbed a letter that was being handed to me by Sebastian.
"I assume it is a request from her majesty."
I handed Ciel the letter and took a step back. I watched as he opened the small drawer to his desk and take out a letter opener. He shut the drawer and began to open the letter.
He pulled out the white paper, unfolded it, and began to read.
"From her Majesty.
Dear Lord Phantomhive, I require your assistance in a recent disturbance throughout the city. Citizens have reported certain mongrels breaking into homes, yet leaving not a single object out of place, nothing stolen or broken.
I need my guard dog to investigate the reason for these crimes.
The occurrences have taken place in East London.
I thank you in advance Lord Phantomhive, I know you will not disappoint me."
Ciel laid the letter down and sat back in his chair.
I suddenly felt a strange sense come over me, something did not feel right about this case.
"I suppose we will make our way into East London this evening."
"Of course young master."
Sebastian said as he placed a hand over his chest.
He pushed the tea cart to the side of Ciel's desk and began to pour his tea.
"We have a special Darjeeling blend to offer from Fortnum & Mason today my lord, I hope it is to your liking." He said as he handed a small porcelain cup to Ciel.
Ciel took a small sip and sat the cup down.
"It is fine I suppose."
Sebastian nodded and stepped aside.
"Shall I fetch your coat my lord?" Sebastian asked.
Ciel nodded and waved him on, Sebastian collected his cart and left the room.
I nodded as well and began to leave the room.
When I left the room, I came across Sebastian.
"Oh, I'm glad I found you Sebastian." I said as I walked to his side.
He folded Ciel's coat over his arm and turned to me.
"What is it my love?" He asked.
I twiddled my thumbs and looked to the floor.
"Please be extra cautious tonight. I am not sure why, but when the master was finished reading the queen's letter, something odd came over me."
Sebastian laid a loving hand on the apple of my cheek.
"Do not fret my dear, I'm sure everything will be alright. We shall return as fast as we can manage."
I placed my hand on top of his.
"Alright dear, just be careful."
He nodded and kissed my hand.
"Sebastian, it is time to go." Ciel said as he walked up.
"Of course, my lord." Sebastian replied.
He turned to me and placed a loving kiss on my cheek.
"I love you my dear, we shall return soon." Sebastian said.
"I love you too sweetheart." I replied sweetly.
Ciel sighed. "Can you two cut it out. We have a case to solve."
I giggled and took Ciel's coat from Sebastian.
"Here, my lord." I said as I helped him into his coat.
After I buttoned his coat up, Sebastian opened the front door allowing a chilled breeze to roll in.
"Wait!" A small voice called out. Leyla ran from the kitchen to her father. "Well hello my love, what is it?" Sebastian asked as he tousled her hair.
"I wanted to say goodbye daddy!" She said gleemingly. He chuckled and picked her up into a loving hug. "I love you my little flower." He said as he placed a soft kiss on her small forehead. "I love you too daddy!" He sat her down gently.
"Alright love," He said as he turned to me. "I leave you in charge of the manor. Please watch over the others and make sure they do not destroy everything." Sebastian said.
I nodded and watched as they left the manor.
