Chapter 1: The Cat Hunts The Mouse.

"Sebastian." I whispered. "Where are you?"

I heard a shuffle above my head. I looked up to the rafters and saw a glowing pair of eyes.

"I am up here love. You best hide or she'll find you." He whispered back.

I glanced around the room to make sure the coast was clear. I silently made my way over to the door and out into the hallway.

I crept into the next room that just so happened to belong to Leyla. I lowered myself to the floor and listened for a moment.

The sound of tiny footsteps echoed throughout the quiet corridors. While looking around the room I had decided to hide underneath her bed.

Once I was safe I waited for her to come and find me.

"Mother, father! Where are you?" A dainty voice called out.

She waited a few moments listening for any signs of movement.

"First clap." She called out.

I wiggled my arms away from my sides and brought them before my face.

I clapped delicately in attempt to not give myself away too easily, but I did not clap quiet enough.

"I found you mother!" Leyla exclaimed as she lifted back the blanket, exposing my hiding place.

"How did you find me so easily?" I said with a giggle as I wiggled my way out from underneath her bed.

"You clap really loud mommy." She said.

"Have you found your father yet?" I asked curiously.

Leyla shook her head.

"Well then, we best find him." I said as a grin grew across my face.

When we left her room, we decided to check in the wash room, where a glowing pair of eyes just so happened to be hiding.

Leyla reached for the door knob and turned her head towards me. She placed a single finger over her lips, something she had picked up from Sebastian.

She squeezed the door knob and slowly turned it. When we entered the room I could feel Sebastian's eyes watching over me like a hawk, or a raven to be more precise.

"Second clap daddy." Leyla said while searching the room.

A very subtle echo bounced around the room and danced inside my ears.

Leyla's head shot straight up, but Sebastian hid his eyes before she could even catch a mere glimpse.

I looked up to the ceiling and spotted the sneaky demon. Leyla's vision hadn't fully developed yet, so she could not see the sleek black figure engulfed in the shadows.

Leyla shook her head in disbelief that she could not find her father.

"Mommy, I'm gonna go play with Finny. You can find daddy."

I giggled and watched as she began to leave the room. I turned my attention away from Sebastian and closed the door behind her.

As soon as the light from the hallway was swallowed by the darkness of the room, a quiet thump filled the air and the room fell into silence.

"Eeevaaaa." A dark voice whispered seductively.

I slowly turned around only to be met with a pair of glowing magenta eyes.

"Hello Sebastian." I whispered back in an alluring tone.

I felt the chilling sensation of ice cold fingers crawl along my side and up my spine.

I looked into his eyes that seemed to sing like a siren and placed a chilled hand on the apple of his cheek. He placed his hand on top of my own.

"How about we play our own little game of hide and seek, hm?" He spoke softly.

I slowly slid my hand off of his cheek and down his neck. He lowered his hand to the arch of my back and pulled me closer in one fast motion.

"I rather like that idea." I whispered as I blew softly into his ear.

"How about a game of cat and mouse my love?" He mumbled quietly.

"You can be the cat." I whispered as I slid my hand down his chest and past his torso.

"And I'll be the mouse."

Sebastian smirked and shoved me against the wall.

"Oh no kitty, you're not getting this mouse that easily." I said as I snaked my way out of his grasp.

I ran to the corner of the room and glanced up to the ceiling. I saw something dark dash past me, so I jumped up and grabbed the nearest rafter I could get my hands on. While I hung on the plank, I turned to Sebastian.

"Are you going to let the mouse get away?" I said, taunting him in a seductive tone.

The slender black shilouette reached for my torso, but I pulled myself on top of the plank to get away.

I quietly giggled at myself for being faster than Sebastian. While I was busy gloating to myself, I hadn't realized that I had backed all the way up to the wall.

I looked down to my left for Sebastian, but he was not there. I turned and looked to my right, but no luck with that either.

"Where is that sneaky demon?" I asked myself.

"I am right here my dear." A voice spoke softly, but with no body to accompany it.

I had forgotten that Sebastian really knew how to get inside my head.

I lowered myself down on my hands and knees and crawled along the crossbeams, looking to my left and my right as I crawled.

"I have to say my love, I assumed you would be sneakier, but it would appear that my little mouse has found herself in a trap."

"Oh, you haven't gotten me yet kit-" I said as I ran into the wall.

I brought my hands in front of my face to feel the wall I had just ran into, but then I realized I had turned away from the wall moments ago.

My fingertips slowly touched what felt like an icy corpse.

I sighed.

"Sebastian, no fair." I said with a pouty tone.

Sebastian's icy hand crawled to the back of my neck sending shivers down my spine.

"But dear." He said as he blew out a breath of warm air on the side of my neck.

"If I could not catch something as simple as a tiny mouse, than what kind of kitty would I be?"
