Taehyung mumbled a holy shit in the back of his head, when he noticed rows of tables occupied, gambling without a care of the world or the law.
Seoul definitely had its fun spots, but Gambling was absolutely illegal, unless of course, if given a special pass from the Government itself to run a transparent Casino.
But this?
An underground Gambling center?
No.
Absolutely not.
Taehyung sneaked his hand into his pocket to pull out his phone, but was abruptly blocked when a figure stepped into his view, firmly holding onto his arm mid-way.
"Now don't be like that Detective Kim..." Jungkook whispered in his ear, his voice delicately soft. He continued, "At this moment, its not just my eyes that's latched onto you"
Taehyung's face flushed a little as his eyes widened, discreetly glancing at few tables who were eyeing him suspiciously.
The Detective let out a breath.
Close call.
"Let's not be impulsive hm?" Jungkook added with a small grin on his lips, stepping back a bit to put some distance between the two.
Taehyung averted his gaze, feeling embarrassed with the fact that an absolute weirdo was guiding him, a renowned officer through a mission.
Seriously-
He was repeatedly making silly mistakes like some poor damsel in distress.
Taehyung cursed his mind and heart for not cooperating throughout the night.
He cleared his throat and moved past the raventte "yeah whatever"
Grinning, Jungkook followed the Detective's lead, who took a seat around a table.
Their primary objective was the informant's notion of 'something big' going down in the restaurant that was related to their recent lead cases.
And that being said, Arresting petty gamblers could be handled later.
"Palce your bets gentlemen" the lean man spoke up, in a quiet, bored tone. He wore a black vest over a faded-white shirt, trying to achieve the same bar as that of a professional Casino table handler. However, his droopy monolidded eyes and frowning lips with his disheveled state made him look very... questionable.
"Uh- I-" Taehyung began but immediately bit his tongue when Jungkook pulled out a wad of cash and slammed it on the table.
"He's playing" Jungkook announced, propping his folded elbow on the Detective's shoulder.
Red signals blared in Taehyung's mind.
Nope. Uh uh.
This can't be happening.
Whilst Taehyung found himself drowning in morbid tension, countless mouths let out whispers and gasps looking at the bundle of cash.
"Jungkook- I cant-" Taehyung whispered looking at the male above him, but the other, simply ignored him.
"Your alias.. sirs?" The man continued, blinking slowly.
Jungkook squeezed the Detective's shoulder, motioning him to speak.
"Uh- uh.. Kim"
"Jeon" the raventte quickly followed up, flashing his signature grin.
"So... Mr.Kim" the man spoke up, counting the crimson chips and slid a tower towards the Detective, who panicked inwardly.
It wasn't just because Taehyung's all righteous soul was in distress from doing something illegal-
No...
Its because he SERIOUSLY didn't know how to play. He didn't know the rules either.
And the fact that it was Jungkook who pulled out the wad of cash had Taehyung on the edge of his nerves from fear of losing every cent on this crafty luck game.
"Hey- listen to me, I don't know how to play this! What are you doing-" Taehyung whispered, tugging onto Jungkook's coat.
The raventte leaned a bit, grinning at the Detective's expression and discreetly enjoying the momentary closeness between their faces.
"Sirs... is there a problem?" The vested man asked, in the same unamused tone.
"He's going to win" Jungkook bluntly responded, his eyes still gazing into that of the Detective's surprised ones.
"I'm... sorry sir?" The man blinked, a little confused.
Smiling, Jungkook stood up straight and shoved his hands into his pockets.
"With me standing by his side, he'll win. No matter what, he'll never lose." Jungkook replied quite cockily, not afraid to rile up other players around the table who instantly narrowed their eyes at the two.
Taehyung lowered his eyes, pursing his lips and only wanting to smack Jungkook into outer space.
Seriously-
Why is he trying to pick a fight with these thugs-
"Well..." the man paused, averting his gaze.
"Emperor's Jade is all about luck..." He mumbled, sighing a little with a 'you're on a sinking ship if you've got bad luck sort of notion to the two.
"I don't think I have lady luck on my side... this is a bad idea-" Taehyung nervously looked up at Jungkook.
A gruff looking man voiced out "Yeah- but we pros can surely be a little lenient, if you ask us with a please, Mr. Kim." Evil mocking chuckle left his throat followed with that of the others around the table, joining him.
Taehyung grit his teeth.
Who does this sack of shit take him as?!?! A pretty bitch boy?!
Taehyung was furious and about to smack an insult but Jungkook quickly beat him to it.
"Yes please, sure do be lenient with us. I love it when I watch you people get mauled over by loan sharks you borrowed from..." Jungkook smiled innocently with his eyes folding into crescents, but to Taehyung- it looked absolutely malicious.
"Now that it reminds me...It would be fun to join as well..." Jungkook chuckled, covering his mouth with the palm of his hands- as if he were a mask.
"Afterall... I do enjoy it immensely watching people beg me for mercy" Jungkook grinned under his palm, except for the smile didn't reach his eyes- giving a clear I will kill you vibe.
Everyone stiffened around the table, averting their gazes, whilst Taehyung squirmed in his seat uncomfortably.
Enjoy it immensely watching people beg me for mercy????
Taehyung let out a screech in his head.
Shamless. Absolutely Shameless.
Jungkook- is a sadist. Indefinitely an absolute mental, unbelievable, shameless sadist who has no morals-
However, the man behind the table, simply sighed- probably having witnessed similar conditions of death threats countless times.
"Okay- um- I'll start" another voice popped up and the game commenced.
[A/N: pls note that this Author knows nothing about Casinos and has neither walked into one nor played. Google and random Hollywood movies are her main imagination supporting assistants, so spare her a bit :')♡ ]
Emperor's jade, as priory informed, was indeed hard to understand for Taehyung- who was clearly a beginner.
A circular board with numbers marked upto 36 was present- except for it seemed like a rip-off of Roulette. A jade marble was spun onto the crimson board and bets were placed by dropping the chips on the board mat, with having to predict what number would show up on the circular board after the jade marble was spun onto it.
Of course there were several other rules to it, but Taehyung really couldn't grasp onto it.
All he did understand, was that, he'd win more chips if the jade marble fell on the same number as that of the number he had placed the bet on.
As time progressed, the two quickly hot into the game. Although, it was Taehyung who was playing (a very pathetic) play, it was infact Jungkook who played, whispering the carefully analyzed next move into his ears.
And just like the raventte had declared, the tower of chips on Taehyung's side only grew while faces around the table began to sweat in their seats and grind their teeth.
Few other people from other tables came over to watch the awfully one-sided winning team scoop all the chips. They cheered and whispered along, wondering who the two new faces were amidst them.
"They seem young"
"Lucky bastards"
"Move- I can't see"
"The tall one looks smug-"
"Oh~ handsome... both are handsome-"
"Go all in, next" Jungkook whispered, snapping Taehyung out of his casual eavesdropping.
"Huh? Wha- isn't that too risky?" Taehyung asked, a little worried.
Jungkook blinked and then a smirk crawled up his lips as he leaned back into Taehyung's ear.
"Detective Kim.." he whispered softly, and Taehyung had to physically restrain a shiver running down his body "I thought we were on a mission... don't tell me, you've now got a liking for illegal... evil things"
Taehyung leaned away, narrowing his eyes down at the male, with a flustered face.
"I do not" the Detective deadpanned and then sat up straight.
"...Its just because this is your money... I don't want it going down the drain because of me" He added, a solemn look on his face.
Taehyung heard Jungkook chuckle but he didn't raise his head to meet his gaze.
It wasn't exactly that Taehyung was... annoyed with Jungkook.
It was just- Taehyung... found it absolutely hard to keep his brain and heart cooperating together for some odd reason.
The entire evening, he was either flushing or embarrassed out of his wits like some poor damsel in distress.
Revolting.
Absolutely Revolting.
No wonder the thug adjacent to him thought that he was some pretty twink.
Taehyung now wanted to let out a howl and simply wipe his memory away.
His attention diverted to the vested man, calling him out.
"Going all in. Straight up" Taehyung announced, moving his chips around on the board mat.
The man behind the table stared, his eyes drifting off to the little camera as he turned around, that he had been glancing over some time.
"Straight up, it is then" He muttered, spinning the jade marble.
Taehyung's eyes gleamed, fingers impatiently tapping on on his thighs as he teetered to the edge of his seat, excited.
This wasn't about enjoying illegal stuff- no... this was about Jungkook's money.
Yep. Definitely.
Please. Please. Please.
Taehyung bit his bottom lip, grimacing a bit as the faint metallic taste from the wound before, invaded his mouth.
His eyes followed the jade marble, rolling and bumping around the board... and... and...
Taehyung shot up from his seat, a wide victorious grin on his lips as cheers erupted from the crowd around.
"I did it! I did it!! Haha!!" The Detective laughed, excitement filling his veins.
However, feeling Jungkook's watchful gaze on him, Taehyung reeled himself in and put up a proper composure with wiping off the grin from his face.
"You-" Taehyung cleared his throat, averting his gaze "your money is safe"
Jungkook chuckled airily, his laugh sounding as clear as warm bright sunny morning "what are you acting all righteous for? I've seen enough tonight... you like illegal evil stuff don't ya?"
Taehyung ignored the male, who chuckled even more in return.
"There's nothing to be ashamed of... look at me, I'm evil as I am... but I still like righteous good people like you" Jungkook continued, bending down a bit with a light shrug as he gave a pure smile.
Taehyung stared.
His heartbeats escalating and eyes gleaming.
Shut up. Shut the fuck-
Taehyung looked away, a sheen red shade crawling up his neck and ears as his fingers curled up on his sides.
"Yeah whatever" Taehyung barked instead, focusing his attention to the man behind the table who seemed to be talking over a phone.
"Mmhmm... who needs lady luck when there's me? All you'll ever need is me" Jungkook continued rambling and as bizarrely flustered Taehyung felt with every word that poured out of Jungkook's mouth, his eyes remained vigilant.
Spotting two bulky looking guys stride in through the crowd, Taehyung subconsciously stepped back to shield the raventte.
"I don't think your luck is working anymore Jungkook.." Taehyung whispered, to which Jungkook only managed to respond a 'Huh?' before the two were harshly yanked apart and dragged side by side into a room despite countless obnoxious comments from the raventte like- 'we didn't cheat' 'atleast get me my money' 'ow-ow don't yank' 'I can walk just fine yknow' yada Yada...
Taehyung on the contrary, managed to seal his lips shut, mentally sizing up the stranger's bulky arm to conclude he would indefinitely die, if he were to get punched by the man.
The two were pushed into a brightly lit room, that was infused with sandalwood incense in the air.
Taehyung's eyes flew around, spotting almost a dozen of women lying around and twice the amount of men either fooling with them or standing straight with a stoic face.
Although it seemed like the men, had their conscious- it didn't seem the same for the women. Half of them seemed miserable, quivering silently and the other half seemed to be out of it- completely dazed, as if they were half-dead.
What the hell is this place?!
"Dear father- calm down will ya?!" Jungkook clicked his tongue, tugging onto the lapels of his jackets and sending a dirty glare at the bulky stranger who manhandled him into the other room.
"Well... well... well, isn't life full of surprises?" A voice boomed out and the two turned to look at the person in the velvet rimmed chair.
"Jeon Jungkook. What a motherfucking surprise!!" The man sneered with an evil tone.
Taehyung's eyes widened, realising Jungkook's cover was blown. He glanced at the raventte and then back at the man who seemed like he was about to strangle Jungkook to death.
Does Jungkook even know this man?
"Haha thanks." Jungkook smiled innocently, rubbing his nape as he spoke "but... uh- do I know you?"
Taehyung silently watched a vein pop up in the stranger's head. Gritting his teeth, the man let out a manic laughter.
"Do you know- Do you know me?! Haahaaha" He laughed, mocking the raventte's words. He pulled off his gloves and ripped off the black mask from his nose.
Taehyung stilled, his jaw slightly dropping.
What even the goddammit world-
Taehyung couldn't tear his gaze away from the 40 something year old man, who had a hideous scar running through the span of his mouth.
It was as if someone tried to pull up a Heath Ledger Joker but fucked up big time mid-process.
Although it was stitched back up, it still looked absolutely horrendous for Taehyung's senses and sanity.
"DOES THIS REMIND YOU OF WHO I AM?!" He bellowed shooting up on his feet as rage spilled out of him.
Taehyung blankly stared at the man and then looked over at Jungkook, connecting the dots lying around.
Did.... did Jungkook do this?
As if summoned, Jungkook let out an airy chuckle, smiling all the way through "ah!! right right... it is Eternal smiling Park JoHyung!!! It's been a while! How have you been?" Jungkook greeted, with a cheery tone in the murderous tension- but oh well... that ain't new, is it now?
"I see, you still got that smile... must be wonderful hm?" Jungkook added, his eyes a little misty with malice but the cheerful tone didn't drop.
"The hell with you- you fucking bastatd!" Park JoHyung grit his teeth moving his hand around- or... whatever was left of it.
Taehyung grimaced at the sight.
The man happened to have only a fat sore thumb sticking out from his right hand.
The rest of the fingers?
Taehyung didn't want to know-
"Mm Hell's definitely with me, thank you for asking!" Jungkook sneered, throwing a Pearly grin at the man.
"You fucking bitch! You walk into my territory and dare throw a face?! Park JoHyung snarled, getting more angry with each second.
"Of course!" Jungkook nonchalantly shrugged and Taehyung pursed his lips, worry lines drawn across his forehead.
Seriously- WHY IS JUNGKOOK TRYING TO PICK A FIGHT?!?!
"..Just because you can't throw a face, doesn't mean I can't- and whilst I still have this handsomeness unlike someone, what use would it be, to keep it to myself hm?"
At this point, Taehyung officially gave up. Sighing out his misery, he shook his head with dismissal.
Park JoHyung, was extremely furious, his eyes row twitching and his teeth grinding in his mouth.
"Oh and you can't blame me- it was my dear little demon guard afterall." Jungkook continued, after giving some thought "You shouldn't have put your hands where it didn't belong in the first place. If you wouldn't have molested those beautiful ladies in my club, by grabbing them and asking them to smile for you- Jimin wouldn't have made this masterpiece of you"
Jungkook chuckled, lowering his gaze as he rubbed his nape.
He slowly looked up, his gaze sharp and gleaming- void of any sane emotions. He smirked faintly, "it really does get on both of our nerves when shit stains like you demand beautiful things to beg for you"
Taehyung pursed his lips tight and fingers curling into a fist- subtly defensive, noticing the hostility arise from the rest if the guards in the room.
Its about time, Jungkook stops yapping... Taehyung cursed in his head.
Park JoHyung, however sank down on his seat glaring holes into the raventte. His composure calmed down, scoffing, he looked up "you take yourself to be the King of Justice, don't ya?"
"I am" Jungkook bluntly replied, shoving his hands into his pockets as if he were taking a leisure stroll in the park.
"Then what would your judgement be for someone who snitches against their master?" JoHyung sneered.
"Well... that depends" the raventte shrugged again, his tone as serious it could sound "personal ancient judgement would suggest hanging up the culprit upside down and cutting their tongues off? If its something minor- then drown them in nightmares instead of cutting off the tongue."
"However.... if the present judgement... has to be implemented, with regards of De- uh-" Jungkook bit his tongue, sending a sweet smile down Taehyung's way. He continued, "... my dear friend's morals here... I would say confinement and isolation for a good period of time should do it for a punishment"
Taehyung could only blink dumbly at the male. What in the world was Jungkook even spouting-
With each second, everything he jabbered away got more and more bizarre with every turn.
"Oho?" Park JoHyung responded, surprisingly amused.
"Well then..." he paused, before he let out a holler "Leave you darned sluts!"
And so the supposed sluts, who sadly, were the miserable women in the room, scrambled at their feet- quickly scurrying out of the room. Those of few who couldn't walk, were simply dragged out by a couple of men.
"Bring her in!" He hollered again and two of the men walked out to fetch a woman.
She stood at least 5 and a half feet tall with silky smooth raven hair. Her skin was milky white and smooth, but the tiredness under her eyes were prominent. They even looked slightly swollen with dust on her cheeks. Although her features were dimmed currently, Taehyung assumed she indeed seemed beautiful in appearance.
However the silence was engulfed when the woman was thrown down at Park JoHyung's feet. The woman hissed with pain and Taehyung had to physically restrain himself from running ahead to help her.
"HaeJoo... HaeJoo. You were such a nice girl hm?" JoHyung crowed petting her head as if she were some animal. The woman squirmed under his touch, recoiling with light quivers escaping her throat.
"You were the most valuable of all my possessions... haven't I treated you well dear?" He smothered by harshly grabbing her from the back of her scalp and HaeJoo let out a yelp- her eyes burning with hate and anger towards the man.
Instinctively she spat on his face with all her might "Fuck you."
Angered, JoHyung sent an ear-splliting slap across her face and the woman fell to the floor, breathing harshly.
JoHyung wiped the spit off and bored his foot to knead her head.
"HEY! Pick somebody of your own size you scum!" Jungkook scoffed loudly, his eyes brimming with rage.
JoHyung sneered "hya- HaeJoo-ya... going back behind my back to tattle to dogs... and now Jeon shows up on my turf, isn't it much of a coincidence?"
"Say... Jeon Jungkook- rumor has it you started kissing up to the dogs." He paused, his gaze drifting towards Taehyung "is he one of them?"
Jungkook's face darkened slightly but then he pulled a smile, resorting to silence.
"I've heard you can't lie either... so go on- tell me." JoHyung leaned forward on his seat.
"You've heard quite a lot." Jungkook chuckled darkly "aren't you quite the fan? Do you need an autograph? Maybe I can carve one on your skin this time."
That seemed to burst Park JoHyung's bubble. He shot up on his feet, his chair flying away behind him.
"GET THEM!!!" He commanded and his minions followed, with knives and guns.
And the two split ways. Whilst Jungkook ran up to the gambling room, Taehyung slipped into another.
Hearing, shots go off behind him- Taehyung was quick to react, pulling out his gun to send a clear shot towards a gun aimed at him, effectively disarming him. The man fell to the floor, crying out as he clutched his bleeding hand.
Breathe in... breathe out.
Taehyung counted in his head, feeling the smooth cool metal under his palms. He ducked and turned around a corner, sending few shots flying but the thig dodged. Taehyung shot a bullet again, this time, disarming the man- the bullet shoot straight through the man's shoulder.
Breathe in... breathe out.
Few more shots rang through, a bullet nearly grazing his arm but he was quick to dodge and send two shots straight at the man's knees.
Breathe in.... breathe out.
Taehyung hissed when he felt a knife slash him and he jumped back, clasping his bleeding abdomen. He looked up, breathing harshly.
"You're out of bullets" the man spoke up, sneering as he flipped the knife between his fingers.
"Yeah... I know" Taehyung replied, through his heavy breaths.
"Too bad for you that I'm the best at knives" He grinned, firmly holding onto the base of the knife.
"No.." Taehyung chuckled, as he stood up straight, regaining his composure "you're not a short overly-attached angry pink haired man..."
And then he charged forth.
Jungkook on the other hand, was having quite the time of his life.
He dodged, spun and twisted around the tables as thugs armed with knives attacked him.
However, Jungkook didn't resort to weapons- all he had to do was swing his fist to knock them out cold, and so he did.
"Cmon- you can do better than this." He teased, laughing out from watching their frustration pour out with each attempt.
Jungkook looked over, his senses picking up the Detective's breaths and timed movements as he dodged and charged consecutively.
Oh...
Jungkook grinned.
Not bad....
He turned his attention over to the last guy among the lot, who was attempting on stabbing him. He looked fairly young too-
Jungkook sighed and paused at his feet, dropping his defense and letting the knife graze his chest.
The young man who had swung the knife, looked up at him- startled beyond his wits.
Jungkook didn't flinch nor wince, as his white shirt immediately reddened with deep red blood.
"A little treat for ya cause you accompanied me for so long now. Plus... I can't have Detective Kim suspecting me for walking out unscathed like last time" Junglook blabbered away sending an innocent smile.
Panicking, the young male sent his arm flying again to stab Jungkook straight in his abdomen, but the raventte was quick to put his defense back on and just as the tip of the metal blade collided into his abdomen, it snapped into two.
Horrified, the man looked up at Jungkook who was only sneering down at him.
"Unfortunately... this body is reserved only for Mortem to be stabbed like that" Jungkook grinned, as if he were delivering an acceptance speech. The other wasn't even allowed to process thw raventte's words, before he sent a harsh jab down the male's neck- knocking him out cold.
With a satisfied grin, Jungkook dusted his hands and turned around only for his eyes to widen, when he was flung across the room to crash onto a table.
Muttering a curse, he stood up to his feet and dusted his hands, looking at the bulky man who had manhandled him earlier.
"You..." Jungkook smirked evily, picking up the jade marble from the table as a hint of bloodlust slipped out of him "I've got a bone to pick with you"
********
Taehyung heaved a breath, sweat drenching his face as he hung up on the emergency call for backup.
He looked back at the unconscious body of the man he had fought with.
Best with knives my ass.
Scoffing, he staggered forward- careful to step onto any of them.
Pushing the door open, he stepped back into the brightly lit room that seemed haphazardly empty- except for of course, the bulky tall man who dragged him into the room and Park JoHyung who was openly exploiting a struggling HaeJoo.
Taehyung froze on his steps, watching the bastard tear off her frail shirt, as she cried and recoiled.
"HEY! GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF HER!" Taehyung yelled, pointing up his gun, despite knowing it was empty.
JoHyung sneered, grabbing onto her hair and yanking her out to forcefully expose her half naked self to Taehyung, who grit his teeth, keeping his gaze locked on Park JoHyung.
"Let. Her. Go" Taehyung warned through his grit teeth.
The silence was baffling in the room and only the light quivers of HaeJoo could be heard.
"Didn't ya hear him?" A serene voice dripped out and Taehyung felt his skin tingle a little
"Let the lady go" he continued, to cease beside Taehyung, who looked at him- a soft gasp leaving his throat spitting Jungkook's a bloody patch on his white shirt.
"I'm fine" Jungkook whispered, smiling assuredly and Taehyung nodded, turning his attention back to the scene ahead of him.
"You- how the- what happened to everyone I sent in there?!" Park JoHyung shouted frantically.
"Oh... them?" Jungkook chuckled as dark energy spilled out of him "I played a little too hard with them"
JoHyung let out a gasp and staggered back on his seat, but didn't let go of Haejoo's hair.
"Do you wanna see... how I played with them?" Jungkook asked with eyes dark and a smirk on his lips. He rubbed the jade marble- between his fingers, the jade, however looked less jade and more of crimson with blood stains.
Jungkook didn't even let the other party answer, flinging the jade marble right across the room and straight into the bulky man's forehead who was standing behind JoHyung.
Nothing happened for few seconds of utter deathly silence but then the man who was striked at, simply rolled his eyes and fell face first into the ground.
Shocked, would have been an understatement.
Taking the advantage of the situation, Taehyung ran across, slamming his gun down at JoHyung's wrist- who yelped and let go of HaeJoo, flopping onto the floor.
JoHyung, was quick to recover, driving his hidden knife straight into Taehyung's upper arm from missing his attack to the neck but Taehyung sucked it up, sending a deathly kick straight to the man's abdomen and he stumbled back, groaning with pain.
He looked up, only to find a pair of soulless dark eyes peering down on him and a plain pair of lips that slowly morphed into a grin- so eeirly gut wrenching, that he wanted to pluck his own eyes out.
Jungkook crouched down, his back facing to the Detective.
"You... you do not touch Detective Kim" the Devil spoke up, with his eyes flaring with unadulterated wrath. His tone low but absolutely horrifying, enough to make a grown man piss himself.
"Jungkook..." Taehyung called out, sensing the murderous aura emitting from the raventte's words he overheard.
"Yes... Detective Kim?" Jungkook responded, his eyes not leaving JoHyung's.
"Do not break more than three bones" the Detective somberly replied.
"Ten" Jungkook announced.
"Fine four." Taehyung sighed.
"Nine." The raventte barked.
"Jungkook no-"
"Fine. Seven. Seven is the last choice or I'm going to break every existing bone in his body" Jungkook complained, whining whilst JoHyung was trapped underneath looked at the two- incredulously.
Taehyung relaxed a bit, noticing the dangerous aura drop around the ravnette.
"Fine!" The Detective groaned "God-what am I even doing-"
"Now Now... " Jungkook whispered, dragging the man by the back of his collar and throwing him around the room.
JoHyung quickly grabbed onto a knife lying on the ground and charging head on at the Raventte.
However, just as he dodged, JoHyung continued charging ahead.
Realizing, the man wasn't going for him but for Taehyung and the woman, Jungkook's eyes ignited. He quickly caught onto the man and twisted his hand, to let the knife slip past his fingers and slammed him straight into the ground with his own inhumane strength. Grabbing the knife, the Devil drove it straight into the mortal's palm, nailing him to the ground and he let out a blood-curling shriek as blood spurt out from the impact.
Crucifixion is something Jungkook didn't necessarily enjoy- but then he did invent this move with knives.
He looked up, his eyes gleaming with a victorious smile etched onto his face to hear a praise like a purebred pet would from his master.
But Jungkook's face immediately fell, when he spotted the Detective's broad back, with his arms wrapped around that of the mortal woman.
The Detective's coat was wrapped around her shoulder, she cried in his chest, whilst the Detective comforted her with light comforting pats on her shoulder and words- Jungkook couldn't really catch onto.
Jealousy as calm as Juno's blood.
Except for there was no Juno and definitely not her blood.
Rather it was Jungkook and his lukewarm blood that had slowly started to boil under his skin.
The more he stared, the more he couldn't hear the Detective speak, hearing his own blood gush in his veins with an unfamiliar emotion of annoyance slip into his senses.
The scene in front of his eyes, ticked Jungkook off for some reason, but he stood his ground.
His eyes briefly met with that of HaeJoo's tearful ones.
A flash of red sparked in Jungkook's irises, her eyes widening in the trance.
Sleep.
He commanded and her eyes rolled, her eyelids falling shut as she slumped on the Detective.
"HaeJoo?! HaeJoo-" Taehyung panicked, hovering two of his fingers below her nostrils.
He let out a sigh, sensing the woman breathe softly.
"She's fine... she just passed out" Jungkook stepped in, crouching beside the Detective.
"Backup is on the way- we have to get her checked at the hospital as soon as possible-" Taehyung muttered, hooking his arms around the woman but the raventte grabbed his arm.
"Let me do it"
"What?" Taehyung asked, slightly irritated.
"I'll carry her. You've injured your arm already" Jungkook replied coldly, taking the woman in his arms and standing up on his feet.
Taehyung clenched and unclenched his fingers, subtly gritting his teeth with irritation.
Of course... he's shameless.
Sighing, Taehyung stood up as well, following the raventte's trail whilst applying pressure to his wounds.
*******
"Hya- Jungkook-ah... why are you bleeding so much?" Jihyo clicked her tongue with suspicion and worry laced into her tone, pressing the gauze to the wound on his chest.
Jungkook smiled weakly.
Was this too much, to fake it?
"Well- its my sexiness spilling out... ofcourse it would be in loads" Jungkook replied cockily, grinning down at the officer.
Jihyo chuckled and shook her head.
"Okay Mr. Too much sexy. Hold this for me.. I'm gonna go in and check over the guys yall nearly sent to hell." Jihyo joked along with an airy laugh, letting the raventte hold onto the gauze.
Jungkook smiled, and then let out a sigh just as she disappeared.
He hopped out of the ambulance, picking up his soiled shirt and pulling it over his shoulders. He only buttoned up few, not caring to button up all the way.
His eyes searched amongst the familiar faces, carrying out few crates with packed blue dust in them.
His eyes flew through the rows of police cars and ambulances, trying to track down the face he most desired to see.
It was all he ever wanted to see.
Recalling how the male had whispered Gentle in that soft, vulnerable yet strong tone, Jungkook had almost lost his face- holding onto every strand of himself from grabbing the mortal by his neck and forcefully pushing him down, to give every reason for the man to whisper and yell a 'Gentle' for the Devil.
It was scary, how close he was to lose his control again.
The Devil let out another feathered sigh and shut his eyes, breathing in silence as the sirens and chatters numbed out of his senses.
Where are you...
He opened his eyes, the noise reeling back into his ears but a soft heartbeat echoed in his ears.
Smiling, he bee-lined through the crowd and cars, into the side street that had cozy little shops and restaurants. His eyes immediately spotting the Detective, who seemed to be talking over his phone. One of the short sleeves of his shirt rolled up and a bandage wound up around his arm.
The mortal glanced at him, the warm limelight from the store behind him splashing its auburn hue on him and Jungkook sent down a smile, waiting patiently for the male to finish talking.
Taehyung hung up and shoved his phone into his pocket, turning his attention to the raventte who seemed pretty much disheveled than his usual prim and proper self.
"Are you okay?" Taehyung asked, walking towards the male "I'm sorry I had to leave you back there alone, despite knowing you didn't have anything to defend yourself with."
Taehyung let out a guilty sigh "I shouldnt have brought you along. I'm sorry for being ignorant of the situation at our hands."
"There's nothing for you to apologize for, Detective Kim. I came along, because I wanted to." Jungkook said, smiling softly "Besides.. I'm fine, its just a little scratch... we've both got matching battle scars now. I think its pretty rad by the way."
Taehyung snorted with a faint smile on his lips, hearing the last bit.
Nobody sane would call being stabbed at, as pretty rad.
But Taehyung had long before known Jungkook was nowhere near sane so it didn't really matter.
"Battle scars are to remain forever. These are gonna fade over time." Taehyung clicked his tongue, playing along.
Jungkook hummed, nodding his head as if he were giving a thought.
"Hmm you're right. Besides I'm a little skeptical of having scars engraved on me from insignificant people" Jungkook replied, propping his index finger under his chin.
Taehyung scoffed, letting out a light chuckle from hearing the absurd words.
"Detective Kim..." Jungkook called out, dropping his hands to his side.
"Hm?"
"That day you kissed me-"
Taehyung eyes widened, blood rushing up to his neck "why are you talking about that?!"
"... do you, do you regret it?" Jungkook continued despite the screech the Detective let out.
Taehyung let out a cough and looked away, his inner turmoil swirling within him "d-does it matter?? its not gonna happened again so shutup"
"Because I regretted it"
Taehyung's eyes widened, when he heard it. His fingers curling on his sides with a hundred emotions slamming his senses.
Jungkook gave a faint smile "...I regretted not holding you and kissing you back."
Taehyung pursed his lips and stepped away, his eyes wide and face beet red with embarrassment.
Why DID HE HAVE TO PUT IT LIKE THAT?!?!?!?
Taehyung covered his mouth with his hand, his heart beating wildly feeling an unknown emotion crawl up his skin, from feeling the momentary slash of shame of being the possible culprit for harassing his colleague into a kiss to feeling the rushed embarrassment from hearing the raventte's shameless words.
"ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN AGAIN!" Taehyung barked, his hand still covering his mouth.
Jungkook simply chuckled, shrugging nonchalantly "ah.. its such a shame, my senses had to break down right at that moment"
"Argh! Shut the hell up!" Taehyung turned on his heels, quickly walking away with the raventte jogging behind to catch up with him.
"Detective Kim..." Jungkook called out with childish grin on his lips "you've stopped threatening to kill me these days... say- are you finally accepting me?"
"Do I even have a choice?" The Detective grimaced.
Jungkook chuckled, quite happy with the answer
"Detective Kim" The raventte prodded again "next time let's have battle scars on the same spot hm?"
"No" Taehyung cut off.
"Okay then maybe you can stab me, I'll make sure to preserve it-"
"Jungkook... please stop talking."
"Detective Kim- earlier you didn't deny that you regretted kissing me. Does it mean you-"
"ARGH JUNGKOOK! Just spare me please!"

Darkness was what met her eyes but it retreated to the corner when a flame lit up on the altar. The shadows elongating around as several papers with odd incantations, pinned to the wall invaded the view.
The air was heavy- a little musky with the scent of blood wafting through it.
Soft muffled quivers echoed, eyes frantically moving around with fear coursing through her veins.
Something clanged, the sound of metals as a thin breeze slipped past the tools and the woman chained to the floor, held her breath, biting the piece of cloth shoved in her mouth.
And then a hum broke out into the space, as eeiry it was- it sounded more like a familiar hymn, something SaeRin had heard quite often when she would attend Church.
A cloaked figure moved around in the room as SaeRin struggled, her back coiding with the dusty worn out wall behind her.
The figure continued humming with their back faced to her, seeming busy with whatever they were doing.
Saerin struggled with the cuffs around her wrists, twisting and turning her hands, only to fail with the searing pain ignite from her arms.
"You..."
SaeRin looked up, eyes wide as she harshly breathed to find the figure's eyes locked on her. A hood drawn over his head and an opaque veil covering his mouth.
She recoiled, attempting to move away as the figure stepped closer, something smooth and sharp shining in their hands.
"P-Ple..ase.... ple.. ase" SaeRin cried, begging to be spared.
"Oh?" The figure spoke up, their voice low and dense- indicating it was indeed a man behind the cloak.
"All those who have sinned, need to be cleansed... I'm... I'm saving you.... what are you crying for?" The man continued, his pupils expanding.
"There there... do not cry." He continued, wiping off her tears as she shook her head- crying even harder.
"You'll be used for a great mission. Do you not wish to see Judgement rise to this ground... hm?" He added, tilting his head "Do you.. not wish to save your brothers and sisters? Your sacrifice... will save them all..."
"S-top! Pl-ease.." she cried out, eyeing the sharp scalpel in the man's hands raise up to her neck.
"Don't be selfish now.... everyone... has a purpose on this world." He paused, pressing the tool to her neck, blood oozing out from the tiny pierce but the line extended, a blood exploding from her neck like a waterfall as her heartbeat dissipated.
"Yours... is to lend me your vision and your heart"
He muttered, positioning her limp body against the wall. He raised her head, by gripping on her cold chin and closed her eyelids by gracefully running his fingers across her face.
He continued,
"And mine.... is to summon the Judgement"

Author's Note:
*blink blink*
This went from happy to dark super quick lol.
So, now yall have a small insight on the mc villain of this book. It gets messier from here forth so- welp...
This chapter took me some time, because I wasn't really satisfied with the original draft. I wanted to put more TaeKook content in here, but faced a major writer's block ans got lazy with it lol.
This chapter didn't reach up to my expectation either but, its better than the other one so... I hope this one worked for yall😩✊
Besides...... I hope yall do think over about why Taehyung was irritated when jk offered to carry HaeJoo. Its sutble- but lol both be riding the same train of jelly. Haha.
Anyway,
Thanks for the love and support
Have a great day!!
Stay safe from Rona

Jaye
