"To the new lead head designer!"

Sam said raising her glass of her favorite wine as me and Scott did the same..

She really did mean it that we would celebrate it once I would come back from work..

And what a way to celebrate!

With pizza and my friends,the best thing ever..

The wine might be a bit questioning in this situation but we wanted to be a little 'fancy' and since we only drink wine on special occasions,what's more special than that?

I grabbed another slice of pizza,eating with a smile..

"Scott told me about your accident today in the office."

I glared at him,as he just nommed on his pizza innocently..

"Maybe Scott should start saying some other things."

He choked a bit,blushing hard and took another sip from his wine,as he slightly panicked..

"What do you mean?" Sam questioned as she tilted her head..

I looked over to Scott and then at her..

"Didn't he tell you that our offices are next to each other?"

"What!shut up!" She squealed and punched playfully his shoulder.."You should have told me!"

He softly choked,still being bright red as Sam turned back and looked at me..

"I am so happy for you!maybe thats the best Christmas gift you could get!Did he give you work to do?anything super special plans?"

I smiled and grabbed the file..

"Actually,yes.He saw my designs and he particularly liked one that was for him."

I showed her as Scott looked from behind her..

"I remember you drawing that!But.." She looked over to me.."Didn't you say its impossible because of our financial state?"

A small smirk appeared on my lips,pulling out the paycheck and showing her..

"He got me covered."

Her jaw dropped on the floor as Scott widened his eyes..

"Girl,fuck this company and let's take the money and leave!" She said grabbing the paycheck and getting close to her eyes,to make sure she is seeing well as she fixed her glasses..

I chuckled a bit,taking it back and getting inside the file where the design was..

"I can't wait to start working on that piece!Tomorrow I will go for cloth shopping and make sure to pick-!"

"Woah,hold up!"

Sam suddenly interrupted me,making me look over to her with a raised eyebrow..

"Tomorrow?You promised to me tomorrow that you will come at Mike's place."

I blinked confused,trying to remember when I signed up for that situation..

She sighed.."A week or two ago Mike said that we are invited to his place as an office as a Christmas get together and him and his other friends would love to meet you."

"I don't remember agreeing though,I told you back then that I don't know him and I would be awkward around them."

"Actually you agreed!" Sam pointed out..

"There is no way I agreed."

"You said no first,but once you heard about the food,drinks and maybe some games we would play you said you will think about it."

"Ah,that explains it,well no."

"Kat!" She softly complained as she hugged my arm.."Pretty please for me!I would always be next to you along with Scott!And Mike is a very good guy,if you get to know his good side."

I looked down at her,she made puppy eyes with her big brown eyes,her short dark chocolate hair almost made her face sink into them as her bangs were all over the place..

"So..?"

I exhaled deeply..

I can't resist her.

"Fine,for you I will come."

"Yay!Finally you will socialize with people!"

I glared at her..

"Don't make me regret it."

Sam said again for the millionth time to reassure me as she knocked the door..

Scott rubbed my shoulder for reassurance and gave me a smile,which i returned..

The door opened,as a tall guy with a red sweater and wearing a red beanie looked at us and smiled..

"Sam my girl!glad you came,come in!"

He let us in,as he hugged Sam and greeted Scott with a handshake..

But then he looked at me..

"Hey,you must be the clumsy new lead head designer!"

My cheeks turned red..

"Y-You heard about my fall didn't you."

"Yap." He chuckled.."But its all good,accidents can happen,I am Mike."

He got his hand ready for a handshake and I happily returned it..

"Kathleen,but call me Kat."

"Got it." He winked playfully and pulled his hand away.."I will meet you to the others,they can't wait to meet you!"

I smiled shyly,as he slightly pushed me towards a small group of guys..

They were familiar faces thats for sure,definitely saw them in the company before but never good with names..

A super familiar face though was Jeremy,who made me feel relaxed since he is from the designing floor,and also met Fritz working on the Health and Food section on the third floor..

"He brought most of the snacks!he is amazing at cooking,even the healthy food are just delicious!" Mike pointed out making the red head to chuckle and blush..

"I just love what I am doing." Fritz said with a smile,fixing his round glasses..

"Thats the people we want,passionate to what they are doing!"

They agreed,and Sam came along,excusing us as she dragged me away from the crowd..

"I see you met the guys,cool,see nothing to worry about!"

"Actually,I feel good that I got to talk to them,they seem so nice!" I said with a smile..

"Great to hear!oh!yeah I forgot,the guys are playing Taboo the,midnight edition." She winked at me and chuckled..

"You should totally come and play,we will play Guys VS Girls it will be fun!"

Suddenly the nervousness came back,as I rubbed my wrist..

"I-I don't know,I don't do well in crowds,its different with a couple of people i guess."

"Nonsense!you will do great!If someone judges you,they will face with me,also it will be fun!"

And without letting me think about it,she grabbed my hand and dragged me towards the sofas and bean bags..

The girls sat on the bean bags as the guys on the sofa,the only thing separating us was the big coffee table with drinks on it and the Taboo game..

I almost sank into my bean bag and sat up,almost hugging my knees as I nervously looked around the guys that didn't know their names yet..

Familiar faces,yes,but still didn't know them..

Especially that guy that was right across me..

I haven't seen him in the company at all..possibly the new guy that Scott talked about..

I shrugged it off,sighing as I rested my chin on my palm,watching them play and laugh..

I chuckled and did say a few words,and some of them were correct and got lots of cards,I was paying attention to the small hourglass too..

But only that,I didn't do much more,since I was scared to let go from my comfort zone..

I looked at the girls and guys too,just gazing around out of boredom..

But I every time I would look at the guys,every time that guy would sneak glances at me before he would look away..

Why is he looking at me like that,I know I am weird but at least I don't say something..

The glancing dude removed his black jacket,staying in his white T-shirt..

A T-shirt that really got my attention and sparked interest in my eyes..

Training to beat /-Goku-/ Saitama

But on Goku there was a big X on it and underneath it said Saitama,as there was a picture of Saitama saying "Yo."

He.likes.anime.

Smiling to myself i looked away,paying attention to the game again..

At some point,the whole Guys VS Girls ended and we played as mixed groups..

The glancing dude actually started playing too..

He tried to explain the word,as my urge to show him that I know anime,and games too came to the surface..

I started saying things,things that will make him know that I know too..

He noticed and encouraged me to say more,until it finally hit since that word is something from Xbox,and he smiled..

"Correct!" He said with a smile,though he didn't try to change to another card as the time was already out..

I smiled back,looking at his shirt and then back at him..

"Nice shirt,I love One Punch Man."

He smiled,but that smile hid a small smirk,knowing well I was one of them.."Thank you."

I kept the smile and the game kept going..

Though for a moment I drifted off to a daydream,not remembering of what as I was resting my chin on my palm before I suddenly notice an index finger close to my chest..

I looked up,looking the glancing dude holding a Taboo card..

"You have it!"

I blinked.."What,no I don't have." I answered like a no problem as him and some guys next to him looked at me,kind of shocked..

He gave me that look..

That look that maybe I was one of those.. anime traps..

"Wait!n-not in that meaning!I just have small chest thats why I said it!"

He couldn't help but start laughing,falling back to the couch laughing so hard that his piggy laugh escaped..

I tried to fix the situation but i guess I am a laughing matter..

"I do the piggy too!" Me,not realizing when I started laughing,I did the piggy laugh too,almost sinking into my bean bag..

The game stopped,and some people started leaving or others just eating and drinking..

The couch almost emptied from the guys leaving as I stayed on my sinked bean bag,talking to the glancing dude..

Turns out,we have way more in common than I thought..

I patted the empty bean bag next to me,and he came along,showing him on my phone all the..good stuff i had,as I was laughing like an idiot and he did too..

"You are the ultimate cringe!" He said chuckling..

"Aww!Thank you so much!" I flipped my heart,looking all girly as I started laughing again,obviously not being myself like that..

"You really are something else."

"I hope a good something else!"

He chuckled.."Totally!"

I smiled a bit,cheeks dusted with pink blush..

"We have been talking all this time and I don't even know your name!" I said as I realized it and sat up,looking into his dark eyes,his fingers messing with his dark colored brown,almost black hair..

"The name is Devin."

He said with a small smile..

"Kathleen,but my friends call me Kat."
"Kat.Hmm,as if kitty Cat?"

I rolled my eyes..

"No,just Kat,with a K."

He chuckled,popping my nose teasingly..

"I am going to call you Kitty Cat."
