The story begins in Hell, a wasteland full of volcanoes and rivers of lava, as multiple crowds of demons are seen walking, all heading to the biggest volcano visible in the landscape, surrounding it. Showcase a lot of different designs for the demons, give them enough variety and make it seem like they come from different cultures. They are chatting, the crowd of demons is talking out loud about something.

"YOU SERIOUS?! A HUMAN HAS DEFIED LUCIFER?!"

"How is that possible, who is that human? They said he made "A deal with the devil". Really? Yeah. No way, no one can defy Lucifer. Then why is he not dead yet? Something's happened, they say there will be a trial right now. Oh really? Yeah, that's why we're all going. Oh wow, I wanna see that, who is that human? A trial? Just kill him already! What did he do? Oh damn, just imagine if Lucifer lost. Shut up idiot! But why a trial? What the hell happened, I wanna know! Oh yeah, this will be fun."

All the demons start grouping and entering the main chamber of the volcano, where the court is set and composed of platforms and pathways. In the middle, there's the judge's desk, where a huge demon called Amadeus is standing still and wearing a judge's tunic. His head is faceless and mouthless, covered in white bends, and has horns growing like branches. The mumbles of the huge crowd continue and make a lot of noise in the court.

_AMADEUS: SILENCE.

Everybody shuts up, they look afraid of Amadeus.

_Amadeus: Today, all of Hell gathers to commemorate a trial organized by our Lord Lucifer himself, so from now on I will ask for your cooperated silence, as we follow the procedures for the court. Any unwanted commotion, and you will be eliminated, understood?

(Silence)

_Amadeus: Now, without further ado, I will introduce to you...

THE HUMAN, ALEXIS LOZANO!

A gate opens itself, and dramatically shows two demons escorting the protagonist, Alexis. He looks exhausted and depressed.

_Crowd: What the, that's the human? He's so weak. Lame. This idiot defied The Devil? Damn, what a waste of time. Haha, he looks pathetic.

Alexis shows no reaction, he mindlessly keeps walking until he reaches his desk, but still remains standing up.

_Amadeus: And now, it is a pleasure for me to introduce to you, OUR LEADER. The first fallen angel, the embodiment of evil, the creator of Hell...

THE DEVIL, MASTER LUCIFER!

The gate at the other side of the court opens, revealing a... A KID WEARING A SUIT?!

(Next Scene)

_Crowd: What kind of joke is this, where's Lucifer? Shhh, that's him, you idiot. Uh? The evil looking kid? Yeah. You know how much he likes shapeshifting. Ugh, guess so, he wanted to look like a kid this time. How weird.

Lucifer is SUPER PISSED OFF! Every time he walks, evil energy leaks from the footprints he leaves on the ground. The crowd shows fear, but among them one of the demons mumbles "Lucifer", and as soon as he does that LUCIFER TURNS HIS EYES ON HIM. He extends his arm, and from across the other side of the court, telepathically pulls the demon into his hand. He grabs his neck, suffocates him, and SNAPS IT.

The demon's corpse falls on the pathway. Everybody looks shocked, including Alexis. Lucifer stands still and breathes heavily, but slowly calms down. Everyone is creeped out by the silence.

_Lucifer: Uff, now I feel better.

An evil smile appears on Lucifer's face, and lively walks until he reaches his desk and faces Amadeus.

_Lucifer: So, Amadeus, can we begin?

_Amadeus: Yes, Master Lucifer.

_Lucifer: Ok, thank you. In that case...

"DEMONS OF HELL, we gather here because a human has dared to defy ME, Lord Lucifer! Four years ago, I offered him the chance to be happy, to fulfill his desires for greatness on the mortal plane and have a meaning in his life. But right now, he has breached the contract he willfully signed, and therefore I MUST CLAIM HIS SOUL!

_Amadeus: Ok, Lucifer, we understand, but how exactly did he breach the contract?

_Lucifer: Your honor, allow me to show you that his right hand is currently missing.

_Amadeus: Hm?

Zoom in on Alexis's hands, reveal that indeed his right hand has been entirely cut away.

_Amaedus: Yes, yes I see, what happened?

_Lucifer: Alexis Lozano is a portrait artist, and in exchange for his success in his career, he agreed to make ONE THOUSAND portraits on my behalf, so that I could use them to steal the souls of whoever he made a portrait of. However, just a few hours ago, ALEXIS ENTIRELY CUT HIS OWN HAND, HE DID IT SO THAT HE WOULD NO LONGER BE ABLE TO DRAW PORTRAITS FOR ME!

Dramatic pause, focus on Alexi's facial expressions and his hand.

_Lucifer: This is clearly a case of self-sabotage, he knows that he can't escape the contract, not even if he kills himself, so instead he decided to cut his own hand, and expected I wouldn't notice his intention of coming up with an excuse to avoid my demands.

_Amadeus: Ok, I understand, Master Lucifer.

_Lucifer: That's why I request this trial, to prove that Alexis is guilty, and as compensation, I have the right to retrieve his soul, RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW.

Amadeus stares at Alexis.

_Lucifer: All the details are in the paper I gave you previously, your honor, including the official contract where Alexis signed.

Amadeus checks the papers on his desk, including a large document printed in red color with the front page having written "Agreement of exchange between Lucifer and Alexis Lozano". Alexis's sign is clearly there as well.

_Amadeus: Yes indeed, this is the contract I approved years ago, and I can tell that it is not altered, it's the original.

_Lucifer: Thank you, your honor.

_Amadeus: However, since I was directly involved in its creation, I know for a fact that...

IF THIS HUMAN WAS TRULY GUILTY, HIS SOUL WOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN CLAIMED BY LORD LUCIFER!

_LUCIFER: WHAT?!

(Next Scene)

Big zoom out of the court and the volcano as well. Tension rises, everyone is confused, except for Alexis, who is looking down and depressed.

_Lucifer: Your honor, what did you mean?

_Amadeus: Lord Lucifer, all the contracts you use to make deals with humans, all of them, with no exception, are all designed to operate automatically.

_Lucifer: Yeah, I know that already. But...

_Amadeus: This doesn't just apply to claiming souls that humans collect for you, it also applies in case someone tries to infringe in the contract.

_Lucifer: ...

_Amadeus: These contracts are made with Master Lucifer's spiritual energy, as well as mine. And later, when a human signs, his soul is also linked into the papers of the contract. This is done so that the contract becomes a living object, one that is designed to think and detect if the human does something that goes against the contract.

_Lucifer: ...In other words...

_Amadeus: In other words...THIS TRIAL IS NOT NECESSARY...

THE CONTRACT WAS CREATED TO JUDGE SITUATIONS LIKE THIS ON MY BEHALF, AND RIGHT NOW NO INFRINGEMENT HAS BEEN DETECTED YET.

_Lucifer: But...but...he cut his own hand, and the trial hasn't even started. HOW THEN, the trial hasn't even started yet, and you believe that he's innocent?! How?!

_Amadeus: Master Lucifer, when a human violates the rules, the contract is designed to automatically capture and absorb his soul trough the spiritual link that binds them.

_Lucifer: Yeah, and so what?! How does that prove that he's innocent?!

_Amadeus: Master Lucifer, as you can see right now, Alexis's soul is standing right over there in front of all of us, AND NOT inside the contract. Should he truly be guilty, he would not be over there right now, but he is. That's why, at least from my perspective...

THIS HUMAN DOESN'T SEEM TO BE GUILTY.

_Lucifer: WHAT?! No...no way...impossible...no...NO... (gets angry again).

THIS HUMAN IS GUILTY, I KNOW IT! THIS HUMAN MUST HAVE SABOTAGED THE CONTRACT OR SOMETHING! YOUR HONOR! THAT'S THE ONLY WAY, HE...

_Amadeus: ORDER IN THE COURT, LUCIFER.

_Lucifer: ...?!

_Amadeus: You may be my master, BUT I represent the law in this situation.

_Lucifer: Urgh, fine...

_Amadeus: Thank you...

_Lucifer: But still... still I won't change my opinion. Your honor, I request that the jury reviews the files I sent and decides on its own accord whether Alexis Lozano has either infringed or sabotaged the contract, understood?

_Amadeus: Yes, sure, we will manually review the case. However, I assure you that the odds of this human tampering with the contract are very, very small...almost not existent.

_Lucifer: Eh, why?

_Amadeus: Because it would imply that he possesses supernatural powers that are above Master Lucifer and mine. Regardless, that's why we have the jurors to evaluate.

_Lucifer: ...

_ALEXIS: UHM, EXCUSE ME, COULD I SAY SOMETHING?

(Next Scene)

Amadeus and Lucifer stare dramatically at Alexis, who finally raises his head.

_Amadeus: Sure, go ahead.

_Alexis: Uhm... I...I guess I must represent myself in this court, right?

_Lucifer: ...

_Amadeus: Yes, I doubt any of our demon lawyers would want to represent you, so yeah, it is not prohibited, you can talk.

_Alexis: Thank you... ok so...uhm...I understand what Lucifer is saying, and what happens if I am found guilty by this court but...

What will happen if I am found innocent?

_Lucifer: Ngh!

_Amadeus: Innocent? Well, obviously Master Lucifer's chargers will be taken away from you. Now, as for the contract, since the loss of your hand would no longer be classified as "self-sabotage", it'll be considered an "accident" that no longer allows you to fulfil the demands of the contract, because you can't draw with your left hand, is that correct?

_Alexis: Yes, your honor, I'm right-handed.

_Amadeus: Ok, in that case then ... it would mean that the contract...

CAN NO LONGER BE VALID, AND AS SUCH IT WOULD BE SUSPENDED.

The entire court is surprised by these words. Tension rises, but only for Lucifer!

_Lucifer: But...but...he hasn't even finished his quote of one thousand portraits...

_Amadeus: That is true, but regardless of the result, all the souls that have already been claimed by Master Lucifer through this contract, they're all yours. Those souls are already in Hell, they can't return to the human world. By suspending the contract, no additional souls will be able to be collected through the human, Alexis Lozano, since he is disabled and unable to keep making art for the rest of his life.

_Lucifer: ...

_Alexis: But what about my soul? Will I stay here in Hell?

_Amadeus: Uh, you? No... you were only brought here to participate in the court. Once this is over, you will return to the Human World, like nothing happened.

_Alexis: Oh ok, thank you...

_Lucifer: ...

_Amadeus: But of course, all we've talked about right now will only apply in case you are proven innocent... and the trial has just started.

_Alexis: Yes, I understand...

Silence, Lucifer stares menacingly at Alexis, who still looks frail and weak.

_Lucifer: (You pathetic human, what did you do? I refuse to believe that somehow your idiotic head came up with a way to fool ME, THE DEVIL! And yet, the contract didn't detect a violation when his hand was cut. JUST WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO, ALEXIS?!)
