Chapter Fourteen

You want to be bad like the Devil? Like me? I can teach you every position it comes in." I whisper in her ear.
-Debra Anastasia

"I would like to ask a question." Xavier says, leaning down. Our chests brush in a whisper of movement, no pressure just enough so I know he's there. His knee separates my legs, making me completely and utterly under his control -not that I mind that. "It's become an issue."

"The question or the need to ask it?" I ask, slightly flustered at the proximity between us.

Not that we haven't been closer, or more intimate but this wasn't about sex or touching this was about me as a person, and I have a feeling it's going to be just that -overly personal.

"The need." He says, blue eyes burrowing into me. "Do you or do you not think you're beautiful Emmeline Carter?"

I take a deep breath before responding, "Why does this feel like some sort of trick exam question? Where's the check-yes-for-all-that-apply thing come in?"

Just like a wolf he growls, the sound vibrating in my own chest.

It was a warning.

"Come on," I groan. "What kind of question is that?"

"The kind you need to answer." The Devil says, voice serious.

Gulping I turn my face to the side, knowing that trying to move my arms from his hold would get me no where. Not unless I told him to stop, and for some reason I'm not willing to do that.

I shake my head, lowering my gaze.

It's amazing how far I've come in such a short time, and a lot of that has to do with him, but one thing I didn't get back from my old like was self love.

My body has always been a neutral point for me, but I've always thought of myself as less than if I had to pick.

Big boobs and a actual ass don't equal out to beautiful.

They equal out to a body.

"I, I don't know...why are you even asking me this?" I huff, squirming against my bedroom door.

"Because I want to know." He says, patient and observational.

If he wanted to he'd wait me out, pining me against him until I spill my insecurities -simply because he knows he can fix them.

He shouldn't have to do that, I should be able to help myself. I shouldn't be a burden on him like that.

"That's not, not a fair thing to ask me -how would I know if I'm beautiful or not?"

Xavier tsks at me, moving his other hand against my rib cage to wrap around the front of my body.

Why the fuck is he so large compared to me?

I'm not even that short.

"That's not what I asked." He points out, bending his head so he can meet my eye where I had turned to the side. "I didn't ask if you were beautiful. I know the answer to that."

"Good," I snap, "Then why do you need me? You're smart enough, Wolf."

"Princess." He says, making me gulp. I'm on my last warning. "I asked if you thought you were beautiful." Xavier pauses, tilting his head to the side like a wolf watching his prey. "And you're going to answer."

"No." I deny stubbornly.

With a raised eyebrow he shoots his head past my lips, burying his teeth into the overly sensitive skin on my neck. The Devil clamps down on my skin, moving his tongue across me.

He presses into me, adding the pressure of his body as his hands tightening on me.

And then he pulls away, blowing on the love bite before his mouth chases away the cold.

Moving back to his original position it takes me a full minute of clenched eyes and the crown of my head against the wall before I can look at him. He watches me with hooded eyes, I realize with a start this is affecting him as much as it's affecting me.

"Want to change your answer?" He bites his lip.

I shake my head, eyes widen when he smirks. "What are-"

He cuts me off with a open mouth kiss, tugging my arms down my palms are level with the top my head when he clenches his around mine. I gasp as he rocks his hips into mine, letting me feel once again everything he has to offer.

With a slight noise of agitation he switches his hold so he has both my wrists in one hand and holding my hips still with the other.

He pulls away once again, taking a step back with my bottom lip between his teeth. Taking a ragged breath he brings my hands back up, letting me at least attempt to compose myself.

"W-why?" I stutter, barely able to form a real sentence.

Xavier takes a breath, controlling himself enough to answer. "We could be here all day, I am willing to wait you out in the worst way possible. I am willing to slowly fuck this answer out of you Emma," I shudder at this, my lips parting in shock. "I wouldn't test me right now because when we'd be done you'd find every part of yourself beautiful, by force."

"I, I no...wait!" I say, well practically squeak as he dives back down to my neck. "How do you want me to answer this."

For once the Devil has a hard time smirking as he looks at me, being frustrated just like I am. At least I'm not the one that's doing it to myself.

"Honestly." Xavier says, clamping down on his lip again. "If you don't I will know. So, do you think you're beautiful?"

"No!" I shout, instantly looking away -having made my choice between neutral discontentment and actual hatred. "No I do." I huff, my breath coming out heavy for multiple reasons. "I'm healthy, sure. Good for me. But beautiful? I've never been beautiful I've been-"

I was about to say ugly, something along those lines, I wasn't sure. My mind was moving to fast for my lips to keep up with.

The only person's lips they want to keep up with were Xavier's.

And that's great because suddenly he cut me off by kissing me with a bruising force, connecting our bodies in the most pleasant ways. His hands slip off my wrists, letting my bury my hands into his hair and pull him even closer to me.

Tracing kisses down my jaw he stops at the spot he bit me, breathing out warm breath over the sensitive spot -making me shiver as goosebumps erupt on my skin. "Would your opinion change, if I were to tell you..." He kisses my skin. "You're the most beautiful person I have ever met?"

"I d-don't know." I answer without fail, decided sarcasm isn't the best after what he threatened to do. "I don't see how t-that's possi...possible." I had to trail off as he started nibbling on my skin, sending a scalding heat through my body.

"Just look into my eyes Princess," He lifts his head up, lips so close that any movement would send them colliding. "The whole time, don't look away. You might see yourself how I do, beautiful and strong and completely irreplaceable."

I nod, unable to come up with any words in a response.

It's then he grins, sharp teeth on display as I watch myself in the dilated pupils of his blue eyes.

"The pizza should be here." Xavier complains, stretching out over my body. "I'm hungry after that."

I roll my eyes as he smirks at me, since I'm only wearing underwear and his large shirt I'd be freezing if it weren't for his heat.

I just got out of the shower, so all my thick curls are pilled into a massive bun on the top of my head. He took one directly after me, having spent the time he could have used to join me ordering pizza instead.

Stupid Wolf boy.

Followed the wrong instincts.

"How are you not fat?" I grumble, playing with his hair.

He rests his chin on my stomach, making more of my soreness known, and lays between my legs while one of my knees are raised in a comfortable position.

With a smirk Xavier quickly climbs up, swinging a leg over my hips.

I narrow my eyes at him as he looks at me like that, how can he possibly find me attractive right now I -no.

It's because I'm beautiful, and I have to keep telling myself that.

Because it's true.

All he's wearing are his boxer shorts, which means everything is on display. I gulp as I scan him, which only makes his smirk grow.

"I wouldn't question me not being fat if I were you, seeing as you like my body so much as it is." He says, smugness lacing his tone. "Free to use," Xavier winks. "But only for you."

"How generous." I mutter.

Feeling his body heat slowly make its way to me as his palms press into my lower ribs and he kneads into my stomach with his thumbs I stiffen slightly -being very willing to start what just happened all over again but knowing it's a bad idea.

Fuck.

Well for the second time, no.

I seriously need a stronger word than that.

And a different context.

"Xavier." I warn as he purposely flexes on me, smothering me with his hotness. "I'm too sore and something will happen if you don't move."

Before he can respond with a snarky comment the doorbell cuts him off.

After sound proofing most of the room they made sure we could still hear it, just not people knocking or shouting.

This was mostly for her parent's sake when Jessamine started bringing guy's home and a way to annoy Jules since he wasn't getting any. Mine is sound proofed because they figured since I own a guitar and Jules wasn't getting any the extra sound proofing things would go to me.

Since I haven't played in forever this is the other way it's coming to good use.

Also, since Jules wasn't getting any.

"Ah," Xavier grins in a feral way. "Saved by the bell."

"And endangered by how horny you are." I snort, sitting up as he climbs off me.

"I'm not going to try to respond to that." Xavier says, shaking his head.

"You just did." I point out, narrowing his eyes as he grabs my thighs.

"Nah, not me." He lies. Upon noticing my stare the Devil raises a eyebrow. "I figured you wanted a free ride." I blush at the clear double meaning. "I barely held back."

I sputter at this, my eyes widening. "B-barely held back. Fuck...how can that get anymore-" I cut myself off, now bright red.

Xavier smirks widely, lifting me over his shoulder gently before smacking my ass. I squeal and kick his thigh in response but he only laughs. "You have no idea."

We set up in the living room and after paying for the pizza I made Xavier get me some pants and to actually get dressed wince Jessamine would be home any minute and I don't feel like her freaking out again.

I mean, she's my best friend so of course we're going to talk about everything he said today and the aftermath but I don't need that explosion the day of.

The Devil grumbles darkly against his meat lovers pizza, watching me with a glare as I pull on some of my loose pajama pants that hide my figure.

Having finished my share of the food a while ago I left him the rest, not realizing how much he ate without changing his appearance at all. He's on his eight slice and still going strong.

But with a slice and seeing my scrunched nose as he pats his abs, wondering how he stays fit, he grins and blows his hot breath over my face -knowing it would smell just like his pizza.

"You're such a caveman sometimes." I tell him, amused as he makes a offended growling noise -stopping short when I send him a pointed look. "My point exactly."

"If you really want me to act like a caveman I will." I roll my eyes at this, but he continues, not caring that the door had opened not even ten feet away from us the second he started talking. "The next time I feel like it I'll throw all niceties out the window and take you against the lockers," He scoffs, unaware of my best friend gawking at him in the doorway. "Does that meet you're expectations, Princess?"

"Meets mine." Jessie squeaks, making his head snap over to her.

I break out into giggles at his horrified half glare half disgusted look.

"I wish it didn't." Xavier says, clearly wishing she hadn't heard him. "Just sit down and shut up." He snaps at her red face.

She follows instructions, instantly taking some of my extra cheesy pepperoni pizza for herself. I squeak in discomfort, which is close to pain at my aching joints and places I had previously thought impossible before Xavier.

Stupid, stupid Wolf boy.

Thankfully she's too engrossed in texting someone- -I assume it's Cal- -to notice.

The Devil, however, is a different story as he shoots me a smug smirk and a self satisfied look when he scans the new marks over my neck. "Shut up," I hiss at him.

He raises a eyebrow, giving me a deadpan stare. "I didn't say anything."

"You didn't have to say anything," I argue. "I could see how you were looking at me."

"Yeah?" Xavier breaths, leaning forward. "And how was I looking at you?"

I open my mouth to answer, but then I see the look he's actually giving me and nod my permission. He quickly pulls me across the couch and against him, leaning down my legs swing over his hips as we rest against the arm rest together.

Jessamine blinks at us before squealing, making me wince as she starts to take photos.

"Aw, Jessie." I groan. "Cut it out. I'm too tired for this."

"Sorry Emma," She says, tucking her phone away sheepishly. But then it rings out in notification and she takes it back out with a wince.

I shake my head, deciding to tease her about it. "Jeez woman, make up your mind. In or out."

"How about both?" Xavier whisperers in my ear, I shiver against him and slightly slap the arm he has wrapped around me.

"Emma they have it!" Jessamine shouts, startling me. I jerk and accidentally smack the back of my head into Xavier's chin.

With a snicker I sit up, glancing back at his glare and shrug. "You deserved that."

His mouth parts in shock, making me giggle.

"Camille stole it and gave it to Hayden, they're a thing now by the way. Cam has your ring, he should be here soon." I bolt straight up, quickly embracing her. She laughs at my reaction. "I told you it would get found."

"Thanks," I say, meaning it.

"For what I gave you?" Xavier buts in, but I can see the relieved smile he has hidden under his smirk.

He's happy I get the ring back.

Happy I won't be upset or have panic attacks in the hall or freak out now.

At least not for that.

 "None required."
