Chapter Six

As I got ready on Saturday night, my stomach was constantly fluttering with anxiety. It had been a long time since someone had asked me out on a date and I was really excited. I wanted everything to go smoothly, and I had even paid my brother twenty bucks to leave the house for a few hours just so we could be alone. Of course, Lucinda was hiding out in her guest house as always so I didn't have to worry about her.

Considering we were just staying in, I didn't want to get too over dressed or anything but I still looked hot. My usual wardrobe comprised dresses, tights, long shirts and skirts. Tonight I pulled out one of my favorite pairs of shorts. They were white and black striped and were decently short, with my tan they looked just sexy enough. My top was a simple white t-shirt with the word 'hot' in capital letters across the front. I know the shirt is a bit conceited and all but hey, it's a good shirt.

I toned down my usual "photo shoot" ready make-up. Instead of my thick eye liner and bold eye shadows I usually wore I went with thin eye liner on the top lid only. Oh, and mascara of course. All together I think I looked casual while still looking fabulous! Perfect, just the look I was going for.

I sat on the edge of my bed with my feet dangling over edge and kicking them off my bed frame. Josh said he would be at my house at around six o'clock and it was already five fifty-five. As I thought about whether he would be one of those fashionably late kind of guys my ringtone started blaring. Blankets flew off of my bed in my mad search to find my phone before the call ended. Finally, I found it and looked at the caller ID; it was Josh.

"Hey Josh." I tried to sound sexy but I kind of choked on my words a bit.

"Hey, I'm just about to pull up to your house." I leaned to look out my window and sure enough I saw a set of headlights coming down the street.

"Okay, see you soon." I said excitedly into the phone.

Taking two steps at a time, I ran down the stairs to the front door. Just as I swung it open Josh was walking up the pathway holding a white rose. His dark hair was wet and his face lit up the night when he saw me standing there. He was wearing a plain white t-shirt;It wasn't tight to his body, but it still emphasized his toned chest and arms. The pants were just the right fit for him. Not too tight but not too baggy either, to say the least he looked amazing.

"You look beautiful." He said to me as he handed out the white rose. What a freaking gentleman! No guy had ever brought me a flower before.

"Thanks, you're looking great yourself." I stepped aside to let him into my home. "Im really liking your wet hair look." I said into his ear when he gave me a hug, I could smell his cologne and it just made me want to melt. Nothing better than a good smelling boy.

"Well, I like your look no matter what." he complimented me again. This guy was good;He brought me a flower and was complimenting me not a bad start to the night. I flashed him my best smile and led him down to the entertainment room. Considering we hadn't been hanging out that long I didn't know what genre of movies Josh liked so I let him pick one out from our vast collection.

"You know I would love to have a movie collection this big," he began, "but it would just always be too hard to pick one out!" I had spent the last five minutes sitting on the couch while Josh tried to pick out a movie. I knew exactly what he was talking about. I had so many movies that it always took a long time to pick one out. More often than not, I would just run my finger along any of the several shelves and whatever movie I stopped on I would watch.

"Just close your eyes and pick one." he did just that. When he pulled out the movie that he had randomly picked he laughed loudly and held it up. "A Walk to Remember! I love that movie!" This would be perfect. I loved sappy movies, it was a great way to test if a guy really has a good heart or not.

As we watched one of my favorite movies of all time, we sat as close as we could to each other. Josh had his arm around my neck, tracing circles on my shoulder. Things were going great, for one he hadn't protested watching the sappy love movie. Two, he kept planting small kisses on the side of my head and whispering cute things in my ear. Every time his breath met my ear, I tingle of shivers would roll through my body.

Just before the part that always made me cry came on I shivered a bit and pulled the warm quilt off the back of the couch to cover my legs. Josh pulled me closer to him, so I was now leaning on his chest with his arm wrapped around my waist. I couldn't help but smile, even though it was one of the saddest parts in the whole movie. Every time I thought about the fact that I was there with Josh and he was such a nice guy a huge smile would erupt on my face.

I had cried for the last ten minutes of the movie and Josh kept saying things like "no way" and "she can't die!" This was the reaction I was hoping for. It's not like I expected him to cry or anything, just from the few small comments he made about not wanting Mandy Moore's character to die told me all I need to know. Before I let him see my face I wiped the tears on the blanket, there were no traces of mascara so I looked up at him and smiled.

"I love that movie." I sighed and stretched out my arms and legs.

"It was sad." he looked down at me and gave me a sexy smirk. "I could use some cheering up."

"How would you like me to cheer you up?" I asked already knowing the answer. Not that I got an answer from him, instead he just showed me by crashing his lips down on mine. My body reacted instantly. Tingles shot all over my skin and I flushed because I knew he could probably feel how his kiss had instantly warmed my entire body. The way I was sitting just wasn't working for me, I wasn't close enough to him. So I turned myself to face him better and pulled him closer to me so I could feel the heat radiating off of him too.

Before I knew it, we were laying down, our legs intertwined and our torsos pressed firmly together. I was sure I could kiss him for hours. He was gentle at first but I could feel him deepen the kiss, hungry for more. Even though we couldn't possibly be any closer to each other, he was gripping onto my back and pulling me into him. It had been so long since I had done anything like this and I was loving it. Even thought the annoying music from the DVD menu kept replaying repeatedly, the moment was perfect.

I found my hands working their way under his white t-shirt and onto his warm tanned skin. He was soft and the more I explored his body the more I desperately wanted him, but I wouldn't do that. I'm not that type of girl. So before he got the wrong idea I retracted my hand and instead placed it on his soft hair. There was no way of knowing how long we had been making out for but I still wasn't getting bored with it. I was so entertained that I didn't even hear the heavy footsteps coming down into the basement. In fact, if the intruder didn't speak he probably could have watched the scene in front of him for the next twenty or so minutes.

"Can you move this to your room so we can play some video games?" I snapped my head up to glare at my brother and whoever 'we' was. That's when I almost flipped shit. Not only was Liam standing there with my brother, watching me make out with Josh, but Jayden was too. Was it just a trick of the light or did Jayden look a little angry?

"I thought I paid you to leave?" I said sounding annoyed as Josh and I sat up and straightened out our clothing.

"You paid your brother to leave." Josh said laughing beside me. Obviously he didn't care that three guys had just seen us hooking up, but he's a guy it just makes him look like a man or whatever. For a girl it just makes them like a slut.

"Yeah, because I didn't want something like this to happen." I held up the middle finger right in my brother's face before grabbing Josh's hand and taking him upstairs with me. "I'm sorry about that." I said as I began pulling stuff out of the fridge to make sandwiches. All that making out had made me hungry.

"Don't worry about it." He said as he cut up some cheese. "It's a good thing we stopped before it went any further, anyway." Huh? Did he really just say that? Aren't guys supposed to be... you know like all for that kind of thing. His comment just made me like him ten times more; This one was a keeper.

On Sunday morning, I had Cali and Amanda over to soak in my hot tub and talk about my amazing date with Josh. There was a lot of "awe's" and "really, that's so cute." You get the picture. When I got to the part about my brother interrupting us, my voice went cold. I told them about Jayden and how he had looked angry and Amanda just laughed.

"You know, I think he might actually like you."

"Your funny." I replied, holding back the urge to splash water in her face. "Players don't actually like girls, they just like getting with them."

"I don't know I think Amanda might have a point." I glared at Cali as if she had just betrayed me. "Hear me out. He was asking for you at Amanda's birthday and he left right after he saw you kissing Josh, you have caught him looking at you while he is kissing other girls, he left you all those presents and set up that cute picnic for you. Don't forget he asked you on a date and made you soup when you said you were sick... I mean I thought players just don't care. Jayden acts like he cares about you. He carried you to your bed. If he didn't care then he would have let you sleep on that couch all night and get a kink in your neck."

In all honesty I didn't know that Jayden had left the party right after he saw me making out with Josh. All the other things that Cali said were just confirming what I already knew, that he was targeting me. Cali had never been hurt by a player before in her life so I don't expect her to recognize the obvious signs. He was doing these things to make me think that he cared or that he liked me. All I was to him was a girl he had to win over. He wanted to break me, to make me think that I could be his game changer, the girl that turned the player into a lover. I doubted any girl would ever turn Jayden into a lover.

Why can't I get this stupid image out of my eyes? I hated seeing his hands all over her and kissing her and even being that close to her. It's like the image of them making out is burned into my brain. At least I stopped them from doing anything else. Although if they slept together, he probably would have got what he wanted and be done with her. Then that would leave me the perfect moment to swoop in and console her, making me look like the good guy.

It's been two weeks since I decided that I would make Delanie mine. I keep thinking she will be mine but what I really mean is I will get her to sleep with me. That's all I want from her, at least I think that's all I want. I know she is different from the other girls I hook up with. I actually feel something when I see her, like excited or something but that's just because she's a challenge for me. At least I think that's why. I don't actually like her; I never really like a girl or get attached. Why would Delanie be any different?

Sure, she is beautiful with a nice body and she has beautiful bright blue eyes. Even when she is glaring at me they are still beautiful. I guess the best way to describe her is simply beautiful. Everything about her is perfect, and she doesn't want me. No, she just thinks she doesn't but really she is just denying herself. I bet the only reason she is seeing that Josh guy is to make me jealous.

Oh Delanie, it won't be long until I crack you and make you mine... I mean sleep with you... Maybe I do think of her differently...

When Amanda and I arrived at school on Monday morning, we were greeted at our lockers by Cali, Jason and Jayden. I didn't even want to look at Jayden after he barged in on my date like he did. At first I hadn't even noticed that Cali and Jason were holding hands. I had been too busy thinking about how mad I was at Jayden. Finally clueing in I gasped loudly causing the four of them to look at me with concern. I just pointed at the two of them holding hands as I coughed trying to clear my airways. Jayden thumped me hard on the back trying to help me out.

"Thanks." I said coldly to him before turning my gaze back to Cali and Jason. "What the fuck is this!" I said excitedly. They both blushed and looked at each other awkwardly, not sure about what to say.

"Uhh..." Jason said lamely "I asked Cali out last night." He smiled over at her while she beamed at Amanda and I.

It was about time! Ever since the party at Jason's house, I had a feeling that he liked Cali. I couldn't be more happy for both of them. At the same time, this meant that there would probably be a lot more of Jayden around. I guess it's worth it to have one of my best friends be incredibly happy. Maybe if Josh asked me out, Cali and Jason could double date with us. Now we just need to find a guy for Amanda. I glanced at Jayden before thinking, no fucking way.

The warning bell rang signaling class was starting in five minutes. I grabbed out my history books as Cali said goodbye to Jason; They were too cute. He kissed her lightly on the cheek before saying goodbye to the rest of us and taking off to his class. Considering Jayden had history with us and all of his books already, he walked with Cali, Amanda, and me to Mr. Dean's boring ass class. I was about to go into the classroom when Jayden grabbed onto my wrist, holding me back from my friends.

"What are you doing? I can't be late."

"I know what you're doing." He said stepping towards me, causing me to step back. I didn't want to be that close to him.

"Yeah, I'm standing outside my history class when I should be inside."

"No, I mean with Josh." What the hell was he talking about?

"What I do with Josh is none of your business. Stay out of it." I said coldly before turning away from him.

"I know you're just trying to make me jealous Delanie." I whipped around, a fire burning in my eyes and slammed Jayden into the nearest locker.

"In your fucking dreams Breeze. Your cousin might be dating my best friend but that doesn't mean I have to like you. Stay out of my business you walking STD!" So much adrenaline was pumping through my body I felt like I might get sick. Instead of going into the classroom I left Jayden standing there looking shocked. I ran to the nearest bathroom and barely made it to the toilet before I started vomiting up my breakfast.
