Long ago, when the land of Equestria was just found, two unicorn twins. The first was a filly with a rose colored mane and tail and white coat. Her name was Celestia. Then, ten minutes later, a colt came along, too. He had a (H/c) mane and tail and a white coat. His name was Y/n, but there was something else about him that wasn't quite right. It was so odd, the colt's parents asked for the assistance of Starswirl the Bearded himself.

At a small house, there was a knock at the door. A female Pegasus answered it to see a male unicorn with a gray coat, light blue eyes, a blue and gray cloak and hat with yellow stars on them and a big white beard.

Pegasus: Thank you so much for coming on such short notice, Mr. Starswirl, sir.

Starswirl: There is no problem. Now, where is this foal?

Pegasus: He's in here.

They walked to Y/n room to see him in his crib and his horn was glowing from (A/c) to dark purple unpredictably.

Pegasus: His horn keeps flickering from his natural aura to that purple one.

Starswirl: Hmm. Well, it's definitely a different kind of magic, but I've never seen any magic like this before.

Pegasus: Will he be okay?

Starswirl: It doesn't seem to be hurting him, but I say you should keep an eye on him just incase.

Pegasus: Okay. Thank you, Starswirl.

As time went on the colt along side his sister would grow. And they would eventually have another sibling. A unicorn filly named Luna. Celestia was very gifted with magic, while her brother wasn't having such luck. It seemed that other magic was affecting his ability to use spells and his mental state.

Starswirl was in his study reading a book until a colt around 10 years old barged in with a look of pure rage on his face. This was Y/n.

Starswirl: What is the meaning of this!?

Y/n broke the table in front of him.

Y/n: Hey, old man! Where's that cure?!

Starswirl: Your parents have already asked me about it. I will get to it when I-

He was suddenly grabbed by his cloak and pulled into Y/n's face.

Y/n: My parents asked you nicely weeks ago! I'M DEMANDING YOU CURE ME!!!

Y/n threw Starswirl aside and tried to levitate a book with his magic, but couldn't.

Y/n: Do you know what it's like to not be able to do something that's so easy for others?! No, you don't! Because you're the great Starswirl the Bearded! The worthless unicorn who had everything handed to him in life!

Y/n began to walk towards the door.

Y/n: I'll be expecting that cure by the end of next week. If I don't have it, I'll come back and you will not be happy.

Y/n tried to use his magic to open the door, but when he couldn't, he blasted the door off and walked out.

Y/n eventually was cured, could do spells better and was more calm. Not long after, him and his sisters became Alicorns, a race of ponies who have both wings and horns. And they also became royalty. Their rule was a great one. Celestia would raise and lower the sun while Luna raised and lowered the moon. Y/n on the other hoof kept balance by destroying any threat that came to Equestria. Everything was good until one faithful day. Luna's jealousy of her sister made her raise up the moon and she refused to lower it. This lead to something much worse.

Celestia: Luna, what are you doing?

Luna: Did you really expect me to sit idly by as you bask in your precious light!? There can only be one Princess in Equestria. And that Princess... will be me!

Luna stomped the ground, breaking the wall behind her, showing the sun. Luna then rose to the air, taking the moon up with her, making it night. But then this black orb formed around her and changed her. Her coat was pitch black, her eyes became slits, her teeth razor, she gained a type of blue armor with the chest plate having a light blue crescent moon.

Luna laughed maniacally and she shot a blast through the castle, causing it to fall apart.

Celestia: Luna, I will not fight you! You must lower the moon, it is your duty!

Nightmare Moon: Luna? I am Nightmare Moon! I have but one royal duty now... To destroy you!

Nightmare Moon shot another blast and it was about to hit.

???: Hakai!

The blast disappeared into small purple particles.

Nightmare Moon: Who dares?!

They turned and saw an Alicorn stallion. His coat was white, he had a long flowing (H/c) mane like Celestia, but his eyes didn't show pupils or irises, just his sclera that were glowing violet, the same color as the aura surrounding him and he wore a pitch black cape with a silver crown.

Celestia: Brother?!

Y/n looked up at the moon and then two Nightmare Moon before he flew down closer to his sisters.

Y/n: A moon where there should be a sun? Care to explain, my dear Luna?

Nightmare Moon: You keep saying Luna... I am Nightmare Moon, the one who'll bring eternal night! And nopony shall stop me!

She shot another blast at Y/n, but he took it like it was nothing.

Y/n: Sister, I am going to give one chance and one chance only. Lower the moon, or suffer the consequences.

Nightmare Moon: You seriously think you can stop me, brother?!

Nightmare shot more blasts at Y/n then began to rapidly punch him, but he didn't seem bothered.

Y/n: Oh, I don't think I can stop you...

He caught Nightmare's hoof and looked her dead in the eyes.

Y/n: I know I can.

Y/n shot Nightmare point blank and sent her out of the castle.

Celestia: Y/n, what are you-

Y/n: Silence!

Nightmare flew back and rushed Y/n who simply bucked her away and then used his magic to grab Nightmare by the throat and strangle her.

Y/n: You took my sister away, and I'll make you suffer for it.

Y/n threw her outside and followed after her all while Celestia was just watching her two younger siblings fight with a worried expression.

Celestia: I need to get the elements before Y/n takes it too far!

Outside.

Y/n bucked Nightmare in the air, then tried to punch her down, but she had enough time to make a barrier around herself which barely survived the attack, but it shattered when Y/n drop kicked it and hit Nightmare.

Y/n: I think I prolonged your suffering long enough. Now, you shall meet destruction, Nightmare Moon. Hak-

He was suddenly kicked away by Celestia who had who had five gems that were red, orange, purple, light blue, and pink. And there was another one that was magenta and in the shape of a six point star.

Celestia: Y/n, that's enough!

Nightmare Moon was getting up and was charging a blast for Celestia as the gems surrounded the latter and a beam struggle started. Nightmare's blue blast vs. Celestia's rainbow one. Celestia's blast won and it blasted Nightmare to the moon where a unicorn's face form afterwards. Celestia landed on the ground with tears in her eyes, but then she had a look of rage towards Y/n who returned it.

Celestia: What were you thinking?!

Y/n: What was I thinking?! I was doing my duty!

Celestia: You were going to erase her!

Y/n: You dare yell at Luna when she refused her duty, but raise your tone at me when I do mine.

Celestia: She's our sister!

Y/n: No! That wasn't Luna! You know that just as well as I do! Luna wouldn't try to harm either of us and you know that!

Celestia: So what?! You were ready to just give up on her!?

Y/n: Says the mare who banished her to the moon! Honestly, destruction was a far more merciful punishment.

Celestia: Of course you'd say that. For you, the Prince of Destruction, destroying your problems is always the answer. (booming voice) What that title really means is that it gives you an excuse to be a heartless, mindless brute!

She slapped Y/n across the face, but quickly realized what she did.

Celestia: Oh, Y/n, I'm so sorry! I-

Y/n: Is that really what you think of me? Well, let me tell you what I think. It's better to me a "heartless, mindless brute" (booming voice) Than an ungrateful, weak minded, little filly trapped in the body of a mare with so much authority!

Y/n punched Celestia in the face, breaking her nose and making her drop to her knees, softly sobbing in pain.

Y/n: Come on, let's find a new castle. That Nightmare Moon destroyed this one.

He walked away with a straight face, put on the inside harbored much guilt.

Weeks later.

Y/n and Celestia had moved into a new castle in a town called Canterlot. They haven't spoken to each other since the Nightmare Moon incident. Y/n was walking toward his room where a guard was standing in front of it.

Y/n: Make sure no one disturbs me. It's been a long day.

Guard: Yes, your highness.

Y/n walked into his room and shut the door. He walked over to his window and looked at the moon which had the unicorn head looking down on him.

Y/n: (sigh) You should be the one here with Tia, Lulu. Not me.

Y/n looked down at his hoofs and tears left his eyes.

Y/n: (sniff) I hurt you and tried to erase you out of anger over how little I did to help you. You and Celestia would've been much better off without me. And pretty soon, neither of you will have me at all. But first...

Y/n put a hoof on his chest and purple lightning came out of his chest onto his hoof. Y/n screamed in pain, but kept going until there was a big violet orb in his hoof. After that, Y/n panted heavily as he lost his violet aura and his eyes stopped glowing, leaving lifeless (E/c) eyes.

Y/n: There we go.

Guard: Prince Y/n, are you okay?

Y/n: Never felt better.

Y/n whispered something and the orb vanished.

Y/n: Hopefully, it'll one day fall into better hooves.

Y/n wrote on a piece of paper and then spread his arms and put magic into both his hooves.

Y/n: Let me now beat away my shame and let this be an act of me seeking your forgiveness. My Princesses, my friends, my sisters.

Y/n took a deep breath before he started beating on himself relentlessly, breaking his ribs and damaging several vital organs. When he was done, he fell to the floor. The guard from outside burst in.

Guard: Sire, what is going on-

He stopped mid-sentence when he saw the beaten down body of Y/n.

Guard: Sire! Guards, get the Princess!

Some other guards rushed to Celestia's room.

Guard 2: Your highness! Our deepest apologies for disturbing you, but we have an emergency!

Celestia: What is it?!

Guard 2: Follow me!

They ran back to Y/n's room where the other guard was checking Y/n's pulse.

Guard: Princess, your brother's not breathing!

Celestia: What?!

Celestia ran over to her brother and he was indeed not breathing, then a guard came to her with the paper Y/n wrote on.

Guard: Your highness, I think your brother left this for you.

Celestia took the note and read it.

Note: Dear, Celestia. I am sorry that I struck you and that I yelled at you. You were right, I was out of line. Nightmare Moon needed to be stopped, yes. But I shouldn't have tried to destroy something that was using Luna's body. And so, I have decided to a tone for my actions by taking my life. I separated myself from my destruction magic so it can be used by whoever you choose to replace me. When you find my successor, read the incantation at the bottom of the note and that will summon back my magic. I'm sorry for everything. Please, forgive me, sis.

Love, your twin brother, Y/n.

Celestia broke down into tears and she put her head to Y/n's and rubbed them together.

Celestia: Oh, Y/n.

She just sat there holding the lifeless body of her brother.

A funeral would be held for him. Celestia was there and she tried to stay strong to maintain her status as strong leader, but how could she? Who would expect such a thing? A mare just lost the only family she had left. Time went on, ponies eventually forgot about Luna and Y/n, becoming only myths, but Celestia could never forget them and knew they were very real. She never found a successor for Y/n or even tried to look for one, so there was no destroyer after the death Y/n. But sometimes, not even death can stop destruction.

In an opened field there was a mountain. There was a big rainbow explosion in the sky that made one of the rocks begin to crack. It cracked more until a purple light shot out of it and when it hit the ground, a young Alicorn colt that looked like Y/n came out of it. He looked at himself from his hoof to his flank where his cutie mark was.

Colt: What's going on?

He sat down and began to think, but he could only remember a few things.

Y/n: I can only remember my name, Y/n. And that this is Equestria. But why can't I remember anything else?

Y/n began to walk along. After awhile, Y/n began to feel a little cold.

Y/n: I need something to keep me warm.

Out of a stroke of luck, he saw some clothes hung up.

Y/n: Meh. I'm sure they won't mind.

Y/n looked around until he saw a thick, black sheet that he took and wore like a cape.

Y/n: Much better.

He continued to walk along the path.

Years later.

Y/n was now a grown stallion. Being the height of an average pony, and his cape was now torn at the bottom. He was in front of a sign.

Y/n: "Up ahead, Ponyville."

He walked on and saw a small village.

Y/n: Not the first time I actually went through a town just to walk Let's hope it's bref.

He walked into the village. Some ponies stopped what they were doing to look at him.

Y/n: (Thinking: Why is it that every time I come into a town, ponies act like they've never seen a pony like me before?)

???: Hi!

Y/n turned his head to see a mare.

Y/n: Huh? Who are you?

Pinkie Pie: My name's Pinkamena Diane Pie, but you can just call me Pinkie Pie, or just Pinkie.

She took a better look at him and saw his horn and wings.

Pinkie: (gasp) You're an Alicorn!

Y/n: What of it?

Pinkie: Where are you from?! Are you royalty?! Are you related to the Princess?! What's your name?!

Y/n just started at her blankly and only answered one question.

Y/n: Y/n.

Pinkie: That's a fun name. Say, are you new to Ponyville?

Y/n: Well, I was just walking through-

Pinkie: That means I can give you my "Welcome to Ponyville party!"

Y/n: You want to throw me a party?

Pinkie: Yep! I've even got my welcoming wagon.

She zipped away and came back with a wagon that had horns and streamers that played music as Pinkie began singing.

Pinkie: Welcome, Welcome Welcome.

Y/n raised a hoof.

Y/n: That is not necessary.

Pinkie: But you'll miss the best part.

The wagon's microwave blasted confetti at Y/n, who just stood speechless.

Pinkie: Now, your party will be at Sugar Cube Corner in 30 minutes.

Y/n: Why bother? We just met.

Pinkie: Doesn't mean we can't be friends. See you later, Y/n. Oh, almost forgot.

She gave Y/n a cupcake and walked off.

Y/n: What a strange mare.

He quickly ate his cupcake.

Y/n: But I'll give credit where it's due with her cupcake.

Y/n continued on until he heard something.

???: Look out!

Y/n turned to see something heading towards him so he flew out of the way.

Y/n: Who in Tartarus was that?

He looked to see the one that almost hit him.

Y/n: What's the big idea?

Rainbow Dash: Sorry. Sometimes I go so fast, I can't stop before it's too late. I'm Rainbow Dash, by the way. The fastest and coolest Pegasus in all of Ponyville.

Y/n: (sigh) Y/n. And it's fine.

Rainbow saw his horn and wings.

Rainbow Dash: You're an Alicorn!?

Y/n: Yeah. And you're a Pegasi, but you don't see me making a big deal out of it.

Rainbow Dash: Can you fly fast?

Y/n: I can but-

Y/n's cape went over one of his wings and he almost fell, but he quickly sat himself straight and landed on his hooves.

Y/n: My cape keeps getting on my wing, making it hard to fly.

Rainbow Dash: Then why do you even wear it?

Y/n: I don't know. Why do you dye your mane?

Rainbow Dash: Excuse me?! I'll have you know, my mane color is 100% natural and 20% cooler.

Y/n: Yeah, whatever. You wouldn't happen to know a pony who works with clothing, would you?

Rainbow Dash: I do actually. Go to a place called "Carousel Boutique." Look for a unicorn named Rarity, she'll help you.

Y/n: All right. I wish I could say it was nice meeting you, but considering you almost ran me over...

Rainbow Dash: Yeah, I know.

Y/n walked along.

Y/n: I probably should've asked for directions.

He continued on until he reached an apple farm.

Y/n: Maybe a farm pony can tell me where to go.

Y/n walked through the gate.

Y/n: Sure are a lot of apple trees here.

???: Yeehaa!

He turned to see a mare buck a tree, making multiple apples fall.

Cowgirl mare: There we go.

Y/n walked closer to her.

Y/n: Um. Excuse me. Farm pony.

The mare looked at him.

Applejack: Well, howdy, stranger. And mah name's Applejack, not farm pony. Welcome to Sweet Apple Acres.

Y/n: Sweet Apple Acres, huh? Oh, and my name's Y/n, not stranger.

Applejack: Okay, Y/n. Sweet Apple Acres is the home of the best apples in all of Equestria.

Y/n: I doubt that.

Applejack: Then try for yourself.

Applejack gave an apple to Y/n who took a bite, then quickly ate the whole thing down to the core.

Applejack: Well?

Y/n: Not bad.

Applejack: If yah like it, you can just say yah like it.

Y/n: I didn't come here for apples. Look, I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of Carousel Boutique. I need this Rarity to fix my cape so it'll stop messing with my flying.

He showed his cape that was covering his wings, then Applejack realized.

Applejack: You're an Alicorn!

Y/n: Well, you're definitely the one who took the longest to figure that out. So, do you know the location or not?

Applejack: Oh, it's the second biggest building in the center of town.

Y/n: Hmm. Well, my sincere gratitude.

Applejack: A thank you is just fine, sugarcube.

Y/n just squinted his eyes.

Y/n: Don't call me that.

Y/n said in a cold tone before leaving for Carousel Boutique.

Later.

Y/n found the second biggest building.

Y/n: Looks like this is it.

He walked in to see a unicorn mare working on a dress.

Y/n: Excuse me. Is this Carousel Boutique?

Unicorn: Yes, I'll be with you in a moment.

She got done with the dress and turned to face Y/n.

Y/n: You must be Rarity.

Rarity: Why, yes I am. How may I help you, darling?

Y/n: First, don't call me darling. My name is Y/n. Second, I need you to fix up my cape so it'll stop messing with my wings.

Y/n used his magic to take off his cape, revealing his wings and shocking Rarity.

Rarity: You're an Alicorn!

Y/n: You know, I never understood why that's such a big deal.

Rarity: Well, it's just that the only other Alicorns are Princess Celestia and her niece, Cadence.

Y/n froze when he heard Celestia's name.

Rarity: Are you all right?

Y/n: Huh? Oh, yeah. So, can you fix my cape or not?

Rarity: Oh, sure I can. But I'm gonna need your measurements.

Y/n: That's fine, I guess.

Y/n sat and got measured so he could get his cape fixed.

Rarity: All right. Your cape shouldn't stop you from flying anymore. And I took the liberty of cutting the bottom so it won't drag anymore, either.

Y/n: I didn't ask you to do all that, but okay. How much do I owe you?

Rarity: Ten bits should do.

Y/n: All right.

Y/n got out a brown bag an placed ten gold coins on the counter.

Y/n: That should cover it. Have a good day, I guess.

Y/n put on his new cape and left.

Y/n: All right, now I think I should be on my way.

He walked on until he bumped into someone, making them fall over. Y/n looked down to see who he bumped into.

Mare: Oh, I uh, i-I'm so sorry. I should've-

Y/n: Be quiet. I am not mad, it was my fault. I should've watched where I was going.

Mare: (quietly) Oh, okay.

Y/n: You seem a bit timid.

Fluttershy: Well, it is in my name. I'm Fluttershy.

Y/n: Y/n.

Fluttershy noticed his wings and horn.

Fluttershy: Y-You're an Alicorn.

Y/n: (sigh) Yes. I am.

Fluttershy: That's very interesting.

A small white bunny came out of Fluttershy's mane and started to push her head a little.

Fluttershy: What? Oh, I know, you want carrots.

Y/n used his magic to grab the bunny and pull it towards him.

Y/n: He sure seems annoying. Would you like me to take him away to the forest?

Fluttershy: N-No! He's my pet bunny, Angel.

Y/n: Oh.

He gave Angel back to Fluttershy.

Y/n: Well, it was nice meeting you, but I should get-

???: Hiii!

Pinkie came out of nowhere and tackled Y/n into a hug, but he was able to keep his balance and stay standing.

Y/n: You again?

Pinkie: Yeah! You weren't at your party, so I got a little worried. But then I realized you probably don't even know where Sugar Cube Corner is, so I decided to look for you, and bring you there myself.

Y/n: You were being serious about throwing me a party?

Fluttershy: Yeah. She takes her party throwing very seriously.

Pinkie: Oh, Fluttershy! Would you like to come with us? You're invited to Y/n's Welcome to Ponyville party.

Fluttershy: Oh, sure. Angel, are you okay with that?

Angel reluctantly nodded yes.

Fluttershy: I promise. I'll get you your carrots afterwards.

Y/n: I'm still a little reluctant to even go to this party.

Pinkie: Oh, come on, Y/n. What do you have to lose?

Y/n put a hoof to his chin and thought about it.

Y/n: Will there be anymore of your cupcakes there?

Pinkie: You know it!

Y/n: Then I guess for the sake of the cupcakes, I'll go.

Pinkie: Yay! Just follow me.

They followed Pinkie to a building that looked like a gingerbread house.

Y/n: It's a wonder ants or something haven't eaten this place yet.

Pinkie: Why don't you go inside and meet everyone? I need to talk to Fluttershy real quick.

Y/n nodded and walked inside then Pinkie turned to Fluttershy.

Pinkie: Hey, Fluttershy. Do you also think he's cute?

Fluttershy: Who? Y/n? Well, uh-

She gave a slight blush and Angel gave a teasing smirk.

Fluttershy: (blushing) Well, I don't think he's ugly.

Pinkie: Do you think I might have a chance?

Fluttershy: I don't know. I don't think I've ever seen him smile. He might not even be interested in that kinda stuff.

Pinkie: Maybe. Come on, let's see how the party is going.

They walked in to see all the guest dancing around except for Y/n who was at the snack table eating the cupcakes.

Pinkie: Hey, why aren't you dancing or talking to anypony?

Y/n: I said the only reason I'd come was for the cupcakes.

Pinkie: But it's so fun to interact with everyone!

Y/n: We definitely have different ideas of what fun is.

Fluttershy: Well, a little interaction isn't so bad.

Y/n: This coming from the mare who literally has "shy" in her name.

Fluttershy: (quietly) I uh...

Y/n: I'll be on my way soon, anyway.

Pinkie: Okay, but you gotta dance at least once before you can leave.

Y/n: Are you giving me a choice?

Pinkie: Nope.

Y/n: (sigh) Fine.

After a few minutes, Y/n went to the center of the floor and performed an elegant dance that stunned everyone. Then he went on his way into the forest.

Y/n: (Thinking: Hm. Usually I'd go on, but I can't shake this feeling that I should stay. Where would I stay though?)

He saw a tree husk that looked like it could fit a pony.

Y/n: Convenient.

Y/n laid in the tree.

Y/n: (Thinking: I don't know what this feeling is, but I hope I don't regret listening to it.)
