Journey's End - Two

It's almost the end of the 3rd book :( but don't worry because there is a defiantly a fourth, a fifth, sixth and seventh book, but first book three has to come to a close and there's no better time to end it than now! (There's also a few spoilers at the end of this chapter for what the fourth book is called)

Anyways as always, on with the chapter!

-----

"Ready! Maximum power!" The other Doctor shouted kicking a lever upwards with his foot before pulling another.

Suddenly the TARDIS engines sounded shocking the entire room. The Doctor and the Stone looked up staring at where the TARDIS was materialising.

"But that's..." The Doctor whispered as Caan giggled while Rose and Martha's mouths hung open.

"Impossible." Davros watched.

"Brilliant." Jack beamed.

The TARDIS door slowly opened showing the other Doctor in the blue suit standing there. Both Time Lords mouths now hung open watching in disbelief as Davros rolled backwards. "But that means..." the Stone muttered before the other Doctor ran toward Davros with the device.

"Don't!" They both shouted. A moment later Davros pointed and electrocuted the other Doctor hitting him in the chest before he fell to the floor.

"Activate holding cell."

"Doctor!" Donna suddenly shouted making everyone look up. As she ran to the device picking it up. "I've got it! But I don't know what to do!" Davros yet again electrocuted her throwing Donna back.

"Donna!" The Doctor and the Stone shouted.

"Donna! Are you all right, Donna?!" The Doctor shouted to her.

"Destroy the weapon!" Davros announced before a Dalek fired at it making the device explode.

"I was wrong about your warriors, Doctor, Stone. They are pathetic."

"How comes there're two of you?!"

"Human biological metacrisis. Never mind that, now we've got no way of stopping the Reality Bomb." He glanced at the other Doctor who was now standing.

"Stand witness, Time Lords. Stand witness, Humans." Davros announced as a holographic screen appeared showing the 27 planets. "Your strategies have failed, your weapons are useless, and... oh - the end of the universe has come."

"Nine... eight... seven... six..." they heard the Supreme Dalek counting. The Doctor and the Stone glanced at each other before watching the screen powerless. "Five... four... three... two... one..." the screen then went dead and an alarm sounded.

"Oh... closing all Z-Neutrino relay loops using an internalised synchronous back-feed reversal loop!" Donna beamed. "That button there!"

"System in shutdown!" A Dalek shouted.

"Detonation negative."

"Explain! Explain! EXPLAIN!" The Supreme Dalek screamed.

"Donna," the Doctor said looking at her wide-eyed. "You can't even change a plug!"

"Do you wanna bet, Time Boy?" She grinned.

"You will suffer for this." Donna cocked her head to the side raising her brows and flicked a switch electrocuting Davros instead of the redhead.

"Oh...! Bioelectric dampening field with a retrogressive arc inversion."

"But that sounds like..." the Stone frowned muttering. "Oh no..." she gasped working it out.

"Exterminate her!" Davros screamed.

"Exterminate! Exterminate!" The Doctor and the Stone looked at her fearfully. Donna not looking worried at all pressed a few buttons.

"Exterminate! Exterminate!" The Daleks shouted before their weapons powered down.

"Weapons non-functional!"

"What? Macrotransmission of a K-filter wavelength blocking Dalek weaponry in a self-replicating energy blindfold matrix?" Donna laughed.

"How did you work that out? You..."

"Time Lord." The other Doctor said.

"She's part Time Lord." The Stone added realising what was happening. "Oh dear." She breathed as Donna laughed.

"Part Human! Oh, yes!" She grinned enjoying herself. "That was a two-way biological metacrisis."

"Half Doctor... half Donna!"

"The Doctor-Donna..." he muttered.

"Just like the Ood said, remember?" The Stone added. "Of course! They saw it coming! The Doctor-Donna."

She turned a switch. "Holding cells deactivated." She laughed as the two Doctors and the Stone looked up. "And seal the Vault. Well, don't just stand there, you skinny boys in suits and you Stone, get to work!" She laughed. The Doctors and the Stone ran over to join Donna at the control panel.

"Stop them! Get them away from the controls!"

"You know Donna, I always wondered if Pepper pots can get dizzy." She raised a brow. "Let's find out!" She then grinned.

The redhead nodded twisting a dial. "And... spin." Donna watched as the Daleks started to spin in circles.

"Help me." They screamed. "Help me!"

Jack laughed watching them both as the Stone raised a brow. "I think it's time they go the other way, just in case." She laughed spinning the switch the other way.

"What did you do?" The other Doctor stared at them.

"Trip-stitch circuit-breaker in the psycho-kinetic threshold manipulator."

"But that's brilliant!"

"Why did we never think of that?" The Doctor looked at the other.

"Because you two... were just Time Lords!" Donna laughed. "You dumbos. Lacking that little bit of Human, that gut instinct that goes hand-in-hand with planet Earth. I could think of ideas that you two couldn't dream of in a million years! Ah, the universe has been waiting for me!"

"But the Stone..."

"They messed up my watch." She cut in. "The pepperpots did something that made me practically remember being human, not just my memories but what it is like. I still have human ideas even though I regenerated, plus I just couldn't resist." She grinned.

"You are brilliant!" The Doctor beamed picking up her and spinning her around the two of them laughing. "Oh, I do love you." He chuckled kissing her.

"Now... let's send that trip-stitch all over the ship." Donna cut in making the two separate and blush red. "Did I ever tell you - Best temp in Chiswick?" She wiggled her fingers. "A hundred words per minute!"

"Ha!" The other Doctor laughed.

"System malfunction--"

"Motor causing interference--"

"Come on then, boys, Stone, we've got twenty-seven planets to send home. Activate magnetron." She said the Doctor and the Stone took one of the sides as Donna took another and the other Doctor took the last.

"Stop it at once!" Davros shouted.

"Mickey!" Jack shouted throwing him a gun she brought out the TARDIS.

"You will desist!"

"Just stay where you are, Mr," Mickey warned pointing the gun at Davros.

"Out of the way!" Jack shouted kicking a Dalek and sending it down the corridor.

"Good to see you again!" Sarah Jane laughed helping Rose to push a Dalek.

"Yeah, you too!"

"Ready? And reverse!" Donna said as they eased out two rods on each of the controls.

"Off you go, Clom." The Doctor grinned kissing the Stones cheek as she laughed.

"Back home, Adipose Three!"

"Shallacatop! Pyrovillia!" Donna shouted.

"And.... The Lost Moon of Poosh." The Stone added.

"Topping. Ha!" Donna beamed.

"Ha!" The other Doctor exclaimed making the Time Lords glance at the two of them raising their brows.

"We need more power..." the Doctor then groaned.

"Is anyone gonna tell us what's going on?" Rose cut in looking at the four.

"He poured all his regeneration energy into his spare hand," Donna pointed at the Doctor. "I touched the hand he grew out of that, but that fed back into me." Donna then pointed at the other Doctor who started to grin. "But, it just stayed dormant in my head 'til the synapses got that little extra spark, kicking them into life. Thank you, Davros! Part Human... part Time Lord. And I got the best bit of the Doctor." The Doctor then raised his eyebrows looking at her. "I got his mind."

"Sweetheart, don't start." The Stone shook her head at the Doctor knowing that he was thinking about his massive ego and most likely was going to say something making it even bigger than it already was.

"So there's three of you?"

"Three Doctors?"

"And a Stone." The Doctor added grinning.

"I can't tell you what I'm thinking right now." Jack laughed.

"Jack." The Stone groaned dragging out the word pinching the bridge of her nose.

"You're so unique that the timelines were converging on you." The Doctor said. "Human Being with a Time Lord brain."

"But you promised me, Dalek Caan." Davros looked at him. "Why did you not foresee this?"

Caan then giggled, the Doctor and the Stone raised a brow. "Oh, I think he did. Something's been manipulating the timelines for ages... getting Donna Noble to the right place at the right time." The Doctor nodded.

"This would always have happened. I only helped, Doctor." Caan said.

"You... betrayed the Daleks?"

"I SAW the Daleks." He corrected Davros. "What we have done throughout time and space. I saw the truth of us, Creator, and I decreed "no more"."

"I will descend to the Vault!" The Supreme Dalek shouted.

"Heads up!" Jack warned as the supreme Dalek descended

"Davros, you have betrayed us."

"It was Dalek Caan!"

"The Vault will be purged! You will all be exterminated!" He shot the central column just missing the Doctor and the Stone who dived backwards.

"Like I was saying, feel this!" Jack then shot the supreme Dalek which then exploded.

"Oh, we've lost the magnatron!" The Stone groaned. "Typical there is only one planet left."

"Guess which one." The Doctor added then looked up. "Look, we can use the TARDIS!" He and the Stone ran in moving towards the console pressing various buttons.

"Holding Earth stability..." the other Doctor muttered at the controls. "Maintaining atmospheric shell."

"The prophecy must complete."

"Don't listen to him." Davros pleaded cutting in from Caan.

"I have seen the end of everything Dalek, and you must make it happen, Doctor."

"He's right. Because with or without a Reality Bomb, this Dalek Empire's big enough to slaughter the cosmos." Donna looked at the other Doctor uneasy as he reached a decision by himself. "They've got to be stopped!"

"Just-- just wait for the Doctor."

"I am the Doctor." He said.

"What about the Stone!" She shouted.

The other Doctor swallowed knowing that she would completely disagree with this and proceeded to ignore Donna's comment as he started to work. "Maximising Dalekanium power feeds. Blasting them back!" Suddenly the spinning Daleks started to explode.

The heads of the Time Lords inside the TARDIS shot up after heading what was going on outside. They ran to the doors of the TARDIS and looked in horror seeing the chaos.

"What've you done?!" The Doctor shouted.

"Fulfilling the prophecy." He replied.

"Do you have any idea or clue of what you have just done!" The Stone shouted. "You should have waited for us!" She gritted her teeth. "TARDIS now!"

Quickly the other Doctor sprinted to the TARDIS not wanting to face the anger of the Stone.

"Everyone! All of you inside, run!" The Doctor shouted as they all ran to the TARDIS. "In, in, in, in, in!"

"Sarah Jane! Rose! Jackie! Jack! Mickey!" The other Doctor called them as they ran in.

"Stone.." the Doctor looked at her.

"I know." She nodded. "Do it." She quickly replied before running inside.

"Davros?" The Doctor shouted. "Come with me. I promise I can save you!"

"After what I did to yours and her own people?" He cackled knowing that she would always disagree with him if the Doctor did really save him. Even she couldn't do that. "Never forget, Doctor - you did this! I name you and the Stone forever, you are the Destroyer of Worlds!" He shouted before screaming as he was engulfed by flames.

"One will still die." Cann reminded before the Doctor ran into the TARDIS.

"Never seen it this crowded before." The Stone chuckled as the Doctor stood beside her at the console, Martha on her other side with Mickey next to the Doctor, Rose stood beside her mother closely watching the Time Lords.

"And off we go!" The Doctor beamed pulling a lever. The TARDIS jolted. The group held on to the console as the crucible exploded.

"But what about the Earth?" Sarah Jane looked at Time Lords. "It's stuck in the wrong part of space!"

"We're on it." The Doctor said then looked at the monitor. "Torchwood Hub, this is the Doctor and the Stone. Are you receiving us?"

"Loud and clear." A woman replied. "Is Jack there?"

"Can't get rid of him." The Doctor glanced at him then pointed at Gwen talking to Jack. "Jack, what's her name?"

"Gwen Cooper."

"Tell me, Gwen Cooper, are you from an old Cardiff family?" The Doctor raised a brow.

"Yes. All the way back to the eighteen-hundreds."

"Mm, thought so!" He hummed.

"Ah spatial genetic multiplicity..." the Stone nodded understanding. "Anyways..." she then changed the subject seeing the way Rose was looking at her in the corner of her eye.

"Now, Torchwood, I want you to open up that Rift Manipulator - send all the power to us." The Doctor said gesturing to himself and the Stone.

"Doing it now, sir." A man popped up on the screen for a moment.

"What's that for?" Gwen asked.

"It's a tow-rope."

"Now Sarah Jane what was your sons' name?" The Stone raised a brow.

"Luke, he's called Luke." She quickly replied. "And the computer's called Mr Smith."

"Calling Luke and Mr Smith!" The Stone said watching the monitor. "The Stone and the Doctor here." She grinned.

"Come on, Luke, shake a leg!" The Doctor said making the boy jump up running to the large computer.

"Is Mum there?"

"Oh, she's fine and dandy..." The Doctor reassured as Sarah Jane began to laugh with relief.

"Yes! Yes!"

"Now, Mr Smith, I want you to harness the Rift power and loop it around the TARDIS, you got that?"

"I regret I will need remote access to TARDIS base code numerals."

"Oh..." the Stone made a disgusted face.

"Blimey. That's gonna take a while." The Doctor muttered as Sarah Jane shook her head running around the console. "No, no, no. Let me! K-9, out you, come!"

Suddenly K-9 appeared making the Time Lords beam with delight. "Affirmative, Mistress!"

"Oh, good dog!" The Doctor grinned.

"K-9, give Mr Smith the base code!"

"Master. TARDIS base code now being transferred. The process is simple."

"Now then, you lot." The Doctor directed Sarah Jane back to her place and started to circle the console. "Sarah - hold that. And Mickey - you hold that because, you know why this TARDIS is always rattling about the place? Rose - that, there."

"Because you leave the brakes on? Because you didn't pass your test to fly a TARDIS? Because you like the wheezing or just like to see me get annoyed at you every single time?" She raised a brow as he smirked at her. "Oh, sweetheart I have plenty of reasons why the TARDIS is always doing that."

"Rude."

"And not ginger." She countered grinning as he fondly shook his head.

"Many of those reasons are most likely true but it was designed to have six pilots and we have to do it on our own, the TARDIS shouldn't even fly with just the two of us let alone one. Martha - keep that level. But not anymore!" He grinned pointing at the different parts for everyone to use. "Jack - there you go, steady that. Now we can fly this thing..." he looks at Jackie and shakes his head, patting her shoulder. "No, Jackie. No, no. Not you. Don't touch anything, just... stand back. - Like it's meant to be flown!" He continued. "We've got the Torchwood Rift looped around the TARDIS by Mr Smith. We're gonna fly planet Earth back home." He turned and stood back beside the Stone again placing his hand on hers grinning. "Right, then! Off we go." They then pulled the lever and the TARDIS began to fly.

With the TARDIS hardly shaking at all the group grin as they flew the TARDIS, the other Doctor and Donna strolling around the console.

"That's really good, Jack. I think you're the best." Donna compliments.

"Donna, stop it." The Stone shook her head as Jackie laughed.

"I was saying he was doing a good job." She protested.

"Are you sure your not a metacrisis of Captain Jack Harkness?" The Stone raised a brow as the Doctor laughed.

The TARDIS finally brought the Earth to its rightful position, the TARDIS then drifted away from it as the group laughed and cheered everybody hugging one another. Except Rose who avoided the Stone... Donna wretched Sarah Jane from Jack and threw her arms around him as she laughed. The Doctor grinned picking up the Stone and spinning around before deeply kissing her. The group watched and grinned at the pair, the Stone biting her lip and looking down after they separated, the Doctor, however, grinned wrapping an arm around her waist.

"How long did it take for you to forget me?" Rose blurted out looking at the Stone.

"Rose-" she went to warn but was cut off by the angry young blonde.

"No!" She shouted. "I travelled through universes just to find this."

"Rose?" The Doctor blinked confusedly.

"You took him!" She shouted. "I thought we were friends..."

"We are."

"No, not anymore, you wanted me gone just so you could have the Doctor." She said her eyes burning with anger. The others looked around feeling awkward in the situation as the Doctor sent a warning glare to Rose.

"Rose I told you..." Jackie went to cut in.

"But look at her mum," Rose shouted. "She was my friend... then she became a Time Lady and stole him..."

"Rose." The Stone shook her head. "I'm not speaking to you about this if you are going to shout." She calmly replied. "The Doctor isn't someone to 'steal' or take."

"But we were friends, now you act as if you are better than I am." She sniffed.

"No, she doesn't." The Doctor then spoke up seeing what was going on... sort of. "Rose I don't know what has gotten into you but ever since the TARDIS first got taken I have noticed you sending glares in the Stones direction."

"That's because she took you from me!" She shouted.

"No Rose you listen." He firmly ordered her pointing at the woman angrily.

"Doctor please don't tell me you just told her to shut up and listen to you." The Stone shook her head making the Doctor blink at her confused. "Don't you see?" She softly said taking his hands. "Rose loves you, she thinks I have taken you away."

"Rose?" He blinked frowning. "Is that true?"

"Y... yeah." She slowly nodded. "She stole you."

"Stop." The Doctor said coldly.

"But she did!"

"I said stop!" He shouted making her flinch. "The Stone has always been your friend! She has never treated you badly. She is a Time Lord just like me, we have been best friends for centuries, I have loved her for centuries and she is my fiancé so you will listen!" He tightened his grip on the Stones' hand. "She has never shouted at you or became angry and I will not have you shouting at her like that!" He finally finished. The room then fell silent as the Doctor and the Stone materialised the TARDIS on Earth then stepped out with Sarah Jane.

"So the two of you." Sarah Jane grinned at them.

"We are." The Doctor beamed wrapping an arm around the Stone.

"I can't believe your alive." Sarah Jane looked at the Stone.

"Sometimes I can't either." She chuckled. "I'll send you an invitation soon." She promised.

"You know... you both act like such lonely people. But look at you." She then grinned. "Getting married soon and you've got the biggest family on Earth!" The Time Lords smiled as Sarah Janes held out her arms and hugged them both.

Suddenly she pulled away moving back. "Gotta go! He's only fourteen! It's a long story. And thank you!" The Time Lords both waved smiling warmly as she waved back then ran off down the path.

The Doctor glanced at the Stone pulling her a little closer towards him. "You alright?"

"I'm fine."

"She was out of line to do that too-"

"Sweetheart, are you doubting me?" She raised a brow at him.

"Of course I'm not, I wouldn't dare do that." He sheepishly grinned at her. They both turned around hearing the TARDIS door open. Jack then stepped out with Martha.

"Hold it, Harkness." The Stone stopped him grabbing his wrist and her sonic the Doctor smirking at the sight. "I warned you the first time I disabled it."

"Even I told you, no teleport." The Doctor shook his head as the Stone disabled it using her sonic. "And Martha, get rid of that Osterhagen thing, eh? Save the world one more time."

"Consider it done." She smiled at them before the pair both saluted them. They saluted back before the pair walked away hand in hand.

They fondly watched the pair walking away, turning around once again Mickey now stepped out the TARDIS going to follow them.

"Oi! Where are you going?"

"Well, I'm not stupid - I can work out what happens next." He said. "And hey, I had a good time in that parallel world but my Gran passed away. Nice and peaceful." They both nodded. "Spent her last years living in a mansion. There's nothing there for me, now. Certainly not Rose."

"What will you do?" The Doctor questioned.

"Anything! Brand new life. Just you watch." They then knocked fists the Stone chuckling. "See you, boss. Stone." He grinned.

"Not so tin dog now?" She laughed giving the man a hug before he winked at them both and ran off to catch up to Jack and Martha.

"Hey, you two!"

"Oh... thought I got rid of you." Jack sighed mockingly. The Stone chuckled then turned to the Doctor and softly smiled up at him. Taking her hand they headed back into the TARDIS walking towards the console. Rose sat slumped in the jump seat sniffing sadly, feeling sorry and disappointed in herself.

"There's time for one last trip." The Doctor moved around the console. "Dårlig Ulv Stranden." He announced as the other Doctor looked at him slightly alarmed.

"Better known as..."

"Bad Wolf Bay." The Stone added as the Doctor pulled the lever dematerialising the TARDIS.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Jackie stepped out of the TARDIS once it materialised and groaned the other Doctor stepping out after her, followed by Rose.

"Ugh, fat lot of good this is! Back of beyond, bloody Norway! I'm gonna have to phone your father." She said to Rose who looked around confused. "He's on the nursery run."

"I was pregnant, do you remember?" She said to the other Doctor. "Had a baby boy!"

"Ah, brilliant!" The other Doctor beamed as the original Doctor stepped out the TARDIS with the Stone and Donna. "What did you call him?"

"Doctor."

"...really?" The other Doctor blinked not sure what to say as the Stone almost snorted a laugh.

"No, you plum. He's called Tony!" Jackie laughed.

"Hold on, this is the parallel universe, right?" Rose turned to the Doctor for the first time since the argument.

"You're back home."

"And the walls of the world are closing again..." Donna said making the Stone start to worry about her again. "Now that the Reality Bomb never happened. It's dimension retroclosure." The other Doctor then smiled. "See, I really get that stuff now."

"No, but I spent all that time trying to find you, I'm not going back now!" Rose said. The Doctor slowly shook his head. "But you've got to. Because we saved the universe, but at a cost. And the cost is him." He nodded at the other Doctor.

"He destroyed the Daleks. He committed genocide." The Stone cut in. "He's way too dangerous to be left on his own."

"He made me!" The other Doctor angrily looked at the one standing beside the Stone.

"Exactly, you were born in battle - full of blood and anger and revenge." The Doctor looked at Rose. "Remind you of someone?" He asked. Getting no answer he continued. "That's me. When we first met. "And you made me better. And now you can do the same for him."

"But he's not you."

"He needs someone. That's very me."

"But it's better than that, though," Donna spoke up. "Don't you see what he's trying to give you?" She then looked at the other Doctor. "Tell her, go on."

Rose turned around facing the other Doctor waiting for him to explain. "I look like him and I think like him... same memories, same thoughts, same everything. Except for two things, One of those is that I've only got one heart."

"Which means?"

"I'm part Human. Specifically the ageing part. I'll grow old and never regenerate. I've only got one life... Rose Tyler." He looked at her for a moment. "I could spend it with you. If you want."

"You'll grow... grow old at the same time as me?" She looked at him, staring.

"Together, but there's one more thing, my memories are all from before the Stone came back, from the moment I met you till when my hand was cut off, before we found Rita Stone on that ship. I only have one heart and one best friend." Slowly Rose walked towards him placing a hand on his chest and feeling one single heart beating.

The TARDIS then made a wheezing sound signalling that they couldn't stay any longer. "We've gotta go." The Doctor said. "This reality's sealing itself off. Forever." They then turned to Leave.

"Wait." Rose stopped them making them turn back around. "Stone." She looked at the Time Lady. "I'm sorry."

"I forgive you, Rose." She softly smiled making the young blonde smile in return. "Take care of him." She nodded over at the other Doctor.

"And you take care of him." Rose nodded over to the original Doctor. The Doctor and the Stone then left leaving Rose standing beside the Other Doctor on the beach.

----------------------------------------------------------------

The Doctor and the Stone leant against one of the Y beams knowing what happened next. They leant on the beam as well as each other as Donna slowly wondered around the console trying to create a conversation knowing fully well what was going to happen to her, she didn't want it to happen though. "I thought we could try the planet Felspoon... just 'cos. What a good name, 'Felspoon'." She said. "Apparently it's got mountains that sway in the breeze. Mountains that move. Can you imagine?" She looked up at them both unnecessarily twisting a knob on the console.

The Stone looked at the redhead and quietly asked: "And how do you know that?"

"Because it's in his head!" She grinned. "And if it's in his head, it's in mine."

"And how does that feel?" The Doctor softly asked.

"Brilliant! Fantastic! Molto bene! Great bit of universe packed into my brain." She beamed. "You know you could fix that chameleon circuit if you just try and hotbind in the fragment links and superseding the binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary, binary..." She took a deep breath. "I'm fine!" She tried to reassure them. The Doctor and the Stone straightened up both of their brows furrowed in sadness watching Donna move around the console. "Nah, never-mind Felspoon. You know who I'd like to meet? Charlie Chaplin." She said. "I've heard he's great, Charlie Chaplin. Shall we do that? Shall we go and see Charlie Chaplin?" She asked picking up a phone and spoke into it before placing it back down. "Shall we? Charlie Chaplin? Charlie Chester, Charlie Brown. No, he's fiction, friction, fiction, fixen, mixen, rixten, brixton..." She gasped once more and doubled over as if she was winded. The Doctor and the Stone slowly moved over towards her. "Oh, my God." She gasped clutching her head in her hands.

"Do you know what's happening?" The Doctor softly asked.

"Yeah." She slowly nodded after a moment in thought.

"There's never been a Human-Time Lord metacrisis before now." He replied in a low voice. "And you know why."

"Because there can't be." She whispered her eyes wet with tears. Quickly she averted her eyes from them both pretending to be busy. "I want to stay."

"Look at us." Donna ignored his words before he asked again. "Donna, look at me."

"I was gonna be with you two... forever."

"I know." The Doctor quietly whispered.

"The rest of my life... travelling... in the TARDIS. The Stone and The Doctor-Donna." She then looked up at them both. "No. Oh, my God..." She shook her head slowly backing away from them shaking her head as her eyes filled with more tears. "I can't go back. Don't make me go back. Doctor... please. Please, don't make me go back. Stone please..." She begged.

"Donna." He looked at her saddened. "Oh, Donna Noble. I am so, so sorry. But we had the best of times. The best." He whispered as Donna cried the Stone holding back her own tears.

"Goodbye." They both whispered as the Doctor closed his eyes placing his fingertips on her temples. "No. No, please! Please! No, no! No!" She cried as he wiped her mind of everything they did, the TARDIS, the Doctor, the Stone, everything. Gone. Donna then felt into his arms unconscious. The Doctor caught the redhead and held her for a moment before his gaze drifted to the Time Lady staring at the redhead thickly swallowing as tears silently fell from her eyes. She quickly wiped them away and ran around the console setting the coordinates and pulling a lever materialising the TARDIS on the other side of the street from Donna's house.

The Doctor and the Stone carefully brought Donna across the street before almost collapsing from exhaustion from the day they both had. The Doctor hastily knocked on the door worryingly looking at the Time Lady sitting against the wall beside him.

"Oh, that must be her!" They heard Wilfred laughing on the other side of the door making the Time Lords have a guilty sinking feeling in their stomachs. "Donna?" He looked out at the TARDIS frowning before looking down and gasping at the sight of the Time Lords sitting on the doorstep with Donna asleep in their arms.

"Help us." The Doctor urgently begged the man who then bent down anxiously. "Donna? Donna?"

----------------------------------------------------------------

Donna was laid down on a bed as the Doctor and the Stone sadly watched, the two of them leaning against one another with their hands in their pockets as a thunderstorm rumbled outside.

----------------------------------------------------------------

"She took my mind into her own head. But that's a Time Lord consciousness." The Doctor explained sitting on the Sofa beside the Stone, the two of then explaining to Sylvia and Wilfred about what has happened to Donna.

"And all that knowledge." The Stone thickly swallowed. "It was killing her."

"But she'll get better, now?" Wilfred asked.

"I had to wipe her mind, completely." The Doctor went on to explain. "Every trace of me, the Stone or the TARDIS... everything we did together, anywhere we went... had to go."

"All those wonderful things she did."

"I know." He whispered sadly. "But that version of Donna is dead." He leaned forward emphasising the importance. "Because if she remembers, just for a second, she'll burn up. You can never tell her. You can't mention us, or any of it... for the rest of her life."

"But the whole world's talking about it." Sylvia protested. "We travelled across space!"

"And it will just be a story." The Stone added. "It will become one of those times when Donna missed it all. One of those Donna Noble stories."

"But she was better with you two."

"Don't say that--"

"No, she was." Wilfred interrupted angrily.

"We just want you to know that there are worlds out there, safe in the sky, because of her." The Doctor said taking the Stone's hand and gently squeezing it. "That there are people living in the light, singing songs of Donna Noble, a thousand million light-years away... they will never forget her. While she can never remember." He breathed shakily. "And for one moment... one shining moment... she was the most important woman in the whole wide universe." He then added sounding empty and hollow.

"She still is." Sylvia looked at him. "She's my daughter."

The Stone glared at the woman for a moment. "Then maybe you should tell her that once in a while."

Suddenly Donna burst into the room holding a phone to her ear. The Doctor sat back squeezing the Stone's hand as they sadly watched. "I was asleep, on my bed, in my clothes, like a flippin' kid!" She looked at her mother and grandad. "What did you let me do that for?!" She then glanced at the Time Lords for a moment. "Don't mind me. Donna."

The Doctor then stood holding out his hand. "John Smith." Donna shook his hand as Sylvia interrupted forcefully. "Mr and Mrs Smith were just leaving." She glared at them while Donna looked at her phone. "My phone's gone mad! Thirty-two texts, Veena's gone barmy, she's saying planets in the sky - what have I missed now?" She said then vaguely looked at the Time Lords waving as she walked out. "Nice to meet you."

"Like I said: I think you two should go." Sylvia coldly stared at them both.

They both nodded and then the Doctor and the Stone walked over through the house, heading for the kitchen where their old friend was chatting to one of her friends on the phone. "Donna?" The Doctor called. "We were just going."

Looking around to glance at them for a moment she nodded not remembering how important they were in her life. "Yeah. See ya." She said, turning back around speaking into her phone. The Doctor and the Stone sadly watched, they turned and headed for the door Wilfred following them out.

The Doctor looked at the sky seeing the rain heavily falling as "Ah... you'll have quite a bit of this. Atmospheric disturbance. Still, it'll pass." He paused then quietly added. "Everything does."

"Bye then, Wilfred." He shook hands with the man before stepping out in the rain. The Stone gave a small hug before joining the Doctor the two of them standing in the rain quickly seeping into their clothes and dampening their hair.

"Oh, Doctor..." Wilfred stopped them as they turned around. "What about you, now? Who've you got?" He said. "I mean, all those friends of yours...?"

"I've got the Stone." He softly smiled glancing down at the woman beside him who slowly nodded weakly smiling.

"We've got each other." She added. "We'll be fine."

"I'll watch out for you, sir, ma'am."

"You can't ever tell her." The Doctor repeated.

"No, no, no." He shook his head. "But every night, Doctor... Stone... when it gets dark... and the stars come out... I'll look up. On her behalf. I'll look up at the sky and think of the both of you."

"Thank you."

They both nodded slowly walking over to the TARDIS and stepping inside. The Doctor walked over to the console and pulled the lever gazing up at the rotor that slowly moved up and down. The Time Lords glanced at each other in the silent TARDIS sadly looking at each other as the Doctor slipped off his soaked jacket then opened his arms, the Stone unable to hold it in anymore burst out into tears tightly holding onto him as she cried. The Doctor sadly placed his head on hers allowing her to then tuck her head in his neck softly crying over the events and what Davros had reminded her about as he did the same. All those lives they had witness be destroyed. The Doctor held her tightly as they both cried before he forced himself to stop and gently picked her up knowing that she was planning to sleep after the market, after having to use more energy she was so weak. He slowly trudged through the corridors of the TARDIS before opening the door to her room and slowly walking inside.

The Doctor removed her soaked clothes and placed her in new ones since she had already fallen into a deep sleep after he had carried her. The Doctor then placed her in her bed and laid beside her on top of the covers with her beneath them, not wanting to leave her alone until he knew she was better. The Doctor then started to whisper comforting words in Gallifreyan quietly crying as he held her. The two of them desperately hurting; he too fell asleep himself.
