Chapter 15: The Process

The night was a horror, filled with grief and sorrow. Gaz, a good soldier and a dear friend, did not survive, but I did. Why was I spared? What did I do to deserve it?

None of us could sleep. My face stung from the burns, though they were only minor first-degree burns. It still hurt. I tried to get up, but Ghost held me back. I shrugged him off and slowly stood up.

Ghost pleaded, "Let me at least help you."

I replied dryly, "No thanks, I don't need any help."

Ghost persisted, "Stop being so stubborn."

I glared at him with anger. Ghost backed away, giving me space. I leaned against the wall for support and slowly made my way outside. I sat on the ground, pulling my hood over my head, and began to cry. I didn't like anyone seeing me cry.

Meanwhile, in the barn, Soap approached Price with a dejected expression and asked in a soft tone, "What's next, Captain?"

Price remained silent for a few minutes, lost in his thoughts. "We take down Makarov and Shepherd," he finally responded.

Soap questioned, "With just the four of us?"

Price shook his head. "No, I will gather reinforcements from Farah's soldiers. I will leave soon."

Soap nodded, accepting the plan. Ghost interjected, "Price, don't you need any assistance?"

Price shook his head again. "No, I need some time alone."

And with that, Price left the barn. He saw YN asleep on the ground, her face wet with tears. He gently placed his jacket over her and departed.

Half an hour later, Ghost made the decision to check on YN. However, he found her already asleep. He carried her back inside and placed her in their usual sleeping spot. He tenderly brushed the hair away from her face. The thought of anything happening to her was unbearable to him.

Meanwhile:
, Price arrived at Farah's base. He could already hear the sights trained on him. He raised his hands slowly and called out, "It's me, Price Farah! I need to speak with you, it's important."

Farah emerged from the darkness, her weapon aimed at Price. She quickly lowered it and greeted him warmly. "Price, you look older."

Price replied, "Life has a way of aging you."

Farah asked, concerned, "What's happened?"

Price spoke with a tone of sadness, "Kyle was killed by Makarov and my treacherous superiors."

Farah extended her hand. "You have my full support." She looked towards the roof and said, "Alex, you can come back now."

Price smiled.

Alex called from above, "Here we are again, Captain Price." He rappelled down to join Price and shook his hand, saying, "Old friend."

Price smiled, and Farah warned, "He's crazy, be careful."

Price, thinking of Gaz, replied with a tone of reflection, "Aren't we all a bit crazy?"

Farah smiled, then turned serious. "I'm sorry for your losses."

Alex, looking shocked, asked, "Losses?"

Farah nodded. "He lost Kyle."

Alex's expression turned somber. "Wow, I didn't expect that."

Price interjected, "I'll explain everything later." He then turned to Farah, saying, "Thank you for your support, and we'll stay in touch."

Farah nodded in farewell, and Price and Alex headed towards the car. Inside the car, Price recounted everything to Alex, who listened in shocked silence.

Meanwhile, in the barn,
YN slowly opened her eyes and realized she must have fallen asleep. She saw Ghost sitting next to her, apparently asleep as well.
YN felt an overwhelming urge to touch him, to hold him, to have more memories of him, to be kissed by him. She reached out her hand to touch his face, lightly stroking it.

Ghost, in a peaceful sleeping tone, remarked, "Thought I was your bunny, huh?"

YN smiled.
This time, it was her turn to kiss him first, and the kiss was more intense than anything before. Her body started to warm, and it truly felt like butterflies in her stomach. He ran his fingers through her hair. YN pressed him down onto the ground, reversing their usual positions.

Her eyes welled up with tears as she said in a sobbing tone, "Ghost, I don't want to lose you. I love you!"

Ghost seemed shocked, but he held her tightly, as if never wanting to let go. In that moment, he couldn't even now bring himself to say, "I love you more than anything."

YN wished he would never let her go, to stay in his arms forever. But deep down, she knew that destiny could sometimes have different plans.

We lay there for an hour, his touch running through my hair and down my back. I cherished every moment, wishing it would never end. I looked into his eyes and said, "You're my teddy bear."

He grinned and replied, "Didn't know our sergeant had such a soft side."

I smiled and whispered, "Only for you."

Ghost kissed my forehead, and just as he was about to say those three precious words " I love you", Soap burst in with bags of food. He looked at us, and his eyes widened.

Soap asked hesitantly, "Am I interrupting something?"

Ghost shook his head and said, "No."

Soap chuckled, holding up the bags of food, and joked, "Please don't fuck while I'm trying to eat."

I couldn't help but playfully respond, "I'd be happy to."

Ghost and Yn sat together, and Rudolfo joined them. Soap unpacked the food and said, "I've got some delicious tacos."

Rudolfo chuckled, "Oh, Soap."

Soap sat down, looking exhausted. They all began eating the tacos, leaving some for Price.

With a full stomach, I lay back and stared at the ceiling. Soap spoke up, "Do you want to hear some army jokes?"

I looked at him with anticipation, wondering what kind of joke he would come up with.

Soap grinned and said, "What does a limo need when it can't get out easily?"

We all asked, "What?"

Soap burst into laughter, "Lemon-ade!"

I looked at him with a bewildered expression and playfully punched him, saying, "That was a terrible joke!"

Soap protested, "Hey!"

Ghost chimed in, "I thought it was pretty good."

I looked at Ghost with a cringed expression, not quite understanding his taste in jokes.

In that moment, the mood lightened up a bit compared to the previous somber atmosphere. Laughter provided a brief respite from the heaviness that weighed on us all.
