Naira's POV

" C'mon we have a meeting" a girl in my team called me out, I was so tired as I haven't slept a blink since yesterday because I have to submit that report today, I was running on no sleep and lots of coffee.

I gathered my notebook and pen and went to the conference room, and saw Kartik sitting on the main chair, what is he doing here?, he didn't pay any attention to me and I was thankful for that.

After the meeting was over, " What about my request of the employees?" Kartik asked our team manager

" Ah yes sir, our best employee are Stella and..." Before the team manager could finish his sentence, Kartik cut him off

" I've gone through the list, send Ms Ferrari and Ms Ricci" he said and got up to leave not before winking at me.

What did I get myself into?

" Naira and Stella, you'll report to the D'Angelo's office from tomorrow, you'll oversee the project from there" Team manager said and left the room

Double Fucks!
First I've to go to Kartik's office until the project is over and second that too with Stella Ricci, the girl who called me a bitch, great!

I can sense her glaring at me, the universe hates me.

When I returned home, I saw Kartik sitting at his usual place i.e. by the bar.

" What the hell were you thinking??!" I shouted at him

" Calm down princess" he said

" Calm down? Why did you choose me? Did Nick asked you again to look after me?" I said furiously

" I'm not some babysitter, that was a one time thing, I only choose you because of your previous work experience in Europe, and I don't mix professional and personal lives" he said bitterly

" What happened?" Nick appeared, confused as he saw us glaring at eachother

" Why don't you ask him" I said sternly and went upstairs.

" You gotta be kidding me!" I said that to myself for what seems like the 10th time today, as I carried another file to Kartik's office to get his sign. This was supposed to be Stella's work but she keeps giving me the work of taking the files here and there, as according to her I'm not qualified enough to be brain of the project.

But this time when I entered the office, I saw Stella sitting on the other side of the table, and Kartik's wasn't even looking at her, as she casually opened another button her shirt, adjusting it in a more exposing way.

" Sir, I need you to sign these papers" I said as I stood there

He finally looked up to me, "Miss Ricci leave us" he said

She looked a little disappointed and then glared at me, she walked dangerously closer to me, " you should have given me these papers if they were to be signed by the ceo" she said sternly

Huh! Looks like she didn't knew that these documents needs to be pre approved by him, I smiled internally knowing that how many chances she lost to meet him when she was throwing orders at me.

" Stella, you gave me these files " I said sweetly

" You're....." Her words as a figure shadowed us

" Ms Ricci, she's your team member and this is my office " he said bored

Stella didn't say anything and left the room, and I can breath again.

Kartik looked at me and smiled

" What?!" I asked

" You looked like a mouse, why are you so scared of her anyway " he said casually

" I'm not" I said

" You are, mouse " he said again as he took the file from my hand.

Then suddenly another man barged in and flopped on the couch as he removed his tie.

" Does just anyone barge in?!! It's my office for god sake" Kartik said irritatedly as he looked at the man lying down on his couch

" Always a pleasure Angel" the guy chuckled

" Don't you dare me call that again" Kartik glared

" Angel" I tested the word

" Not you too" Kartik rubber his hand on his forehead

" What are you doing here" Kartik asked the man

" The work's done" he said

" Good now get out" Kartik said

" I will, but first tell me who is this?" The man suddenly jumped up from the couch and walked towards me

" Stay away from her" Kartik warned him

" Hey, I'm Daniel Silverstone" he said forwarding his hand for a handshake

" Hi, I'm Naira Ferrari" I said shaking his hand

" Nick's sister??" He looked confused, but then he looked at Kartik, and if stares could kill, Daniel would be dead by now

There will be more main leads scene, I know the last few chapters were a bit boring, but I like to write a nice background story, so bye.
