SEASON 2: THE MOONSHINE ACADEMY

Relations between parents and their kids have improved. However, the eagerly awaited date of September 1 has arrived. The first day of school. Ingrid, Eshter, Ernest and Flame with Jake liked the idea of their parents and were looking forward to starting school at the public academy.

Lily, Rose, Atlas and Ophelia didn't really like this idea. They liked studying at home.  And there they will have to deal with people from completely different backgrounds. They are not sure what to expect from other students.

Zane was more than happy with the idea of their friends. After all, their children could grow up and be educated among their peers. So it was he who volunteered to take them to Moonshine Academy; an academy founded by a famous billionaire in the 1980s, Reginald Moonshine Jr.

He was famous for founding the first non-public academy, The Moonshine Academy, where he reportedly raised seven students who were his children. They graduated from their gifted father and left to live their lives in different parts of the world. After that, he decided to make his academy public for other gifted young people.

------

- We are going to die. - Ophelia said, looking at the building built of red brick. The young Serpentine did not like studying there.

- Don't exaggerate. It will be great! - Jake said with a broad smile, hitting his sister with his fist on the shoulder.

- We have time to turn back, then we turn back now. - Atlas said.

Zane stood in front the group of kids and sent them a disapproving look.

- Uncle, don't make us go there, I beg you! - Atlas groaned, weaving his hands together. Zane only sighed and put his hand on his shoulder.

- There is nothing to fear, Atlas. Growing up and learning alongside your peers is fun! This is how we learn the most about ourselves.

- Yeah. Or this school is a full pasture of assholes and fools who will denigrate us in front of others.... Hooray! - Rose said.

Zane clear his throat unpleasantly and looked nervously at terrified Atlas. - Don't listen to what she tells you. This school has the best reviews in all of Ninjago and has high scores. The students are great, it will be fine.

Atlas sighed nervously before sending Zane a slight smile. - You're right. I hope it will be okay.

- That's the spirit, Atlas! Good luck to and have fun. - Ingrid's father said with a smile as the bell rang.

Ophelia, Rose, Lily and Atlas groaned but followed Ernest, Eshter, Flame and Jake anyway. They passed through the massive doors and a corridor full of students dressed in uniforms appeared to them.

- Beautiful! We'll be walking around in uniforms! - Ernest said and sighed heavily.

- We can always hang anyway! - Rose said sarcastically to him.

Jake grabbed her by the shoulders and began to shake her wildly. - Calm down, Rosalina! Don't sow panic!

- Stop shaking her! - Ernest growled as he pushed Jake away from Rose, who was dizzy.

- Calm down everyone! You're making us more of a mess than we already are. - Eshter said.

And she was right. All the students of the Academy looked at the new people with puzzled, weird and disgusted looks. Clearly some of the people were those "upper class". Typical chicks who stick together with Mr. Popular in the lead.

The siblings looked right and left with awkward glances and smiled nervously. However, this still didn't help.

- Greetings, fellow teenagers. - Ingrid greeted with a nervous smile.

The crowd of teenagers watched them in silence, and even in the distance someone could be heard coughing. Lily drew in air through clenched teeth.

- Awkward. - she whispered to Rose.

- Totally. We can forget about a good first impression.

Suddenly there was a sound on the loudspeaker in the main corridor that distracted everyone from the strange new people who had arrived. A man spoke up.

- Welcome you, students of The Moonshine Academy to the new school year. Students in grades 1-2 please report to the gym, where timatables, locker keys and other basic things will be handed out to help you adapt to the Academy's rules.

The students laughed out loud, before starting to walk to that gym. The siblings looked at each other confused.

- Adapt to the rules of the academy? What does he mean by that? - Ernest asked.

- It means to help you hammer the basic rules into the little brains you have. - a cocky male voice said.

Everyone looked to the side and saw a group of boys dressed in black uniforms. The one who spoke up was a tall boy with green eyes and black hair tied in a high bun.

The second, slightly taller boy to his right had long black hair tied in braids and amber eyes. The third boy on his left had short black hair and eyes as blue as ocean water.

- So it's true. - The boy with the bun smiled mischievously. - What the principal Finch and Professor Stickler said. Children of  the Masters of Spinjitzu honored The Moonshine Academy.

The group of boys behind him sighed and began whispering to each other, pointing to an individual sibling. The boy with the bun took a step forward, standing right in front of Lily.

- This is Neteyam. - He pointed with his head to a boy slightly taller than him. - This is Roxto. - He pointed to the other boy. - And I am Aonung. Aonung Tsakarem. - he said proudly.

Ophelia snickered under her breath. Aonung looked at her and his satisfied face disappeared, replaced by indignation.

- Are you laughing at my name? You don't need to introduce yourself to me. The scales, the tail, the hissing. You are Serpentine. You're probably Chumsworth.

- You're probably right. - Atlas replied coldly.

Aonung returned his gaze before looking at Lily with a proud grin. He took her hand and kissed the back of her hand. Atlas choked on air and looked at the boy with indignation.

- It will be nice to have a pretty girl like you in the class. - He said and smiled charmingly.

Lily blushed and with a nervous giggle took her hand and wiped it on her shirt. - How nice. I hope we'll get along.

Roxto laughed. - I think so too. Do you know where the principal's office is? - He asked kindly.

- And weren't we supposed to go to the gym? - Eshter asked with a raised eyebrow.

Neteyam tilted his head and laughed lightly. - You guys are new here. You guys are going to the principal's office to get your "basic stuff".

- Well... Can you tell where it is? - Flame asked.

- Sure. You go down this corridor straight and to the left, third door on the left. - Neteyam replied.

- Thanks! I hope we will meet again. Let's go, guys. - Rose said.

The others quickly followed her. Unfortunately, they missed the mischievous grins and laughter from the boys.

- It promises to be an interesting year, gentlemen. - Aonung said to Neteyam and Roxto.

- Okay, let's go to that hall better before that Stickler gets attached to us. - said the fourth boy in the group and together they went to the gym.

-------

The siblings stood in front of the brown door that led to the principal's office.

- Knock. - said Flame to Lily.

- Why me? Why not you?

- I'm... I'm a little worried.

- Me too.

- Gee, don't get hysterical! I will open... - Eshter said, rolling her eyes in annoyance.

Princess of Shintaro knocked three times on the door.

- Come in.

The siblings looked at each other nervously, before Eshter opened the door and walked inside with them. There, at the desk, they saw an older man with gray hair, gray eyes and a short beard. He wore glasses. On the desk was a nameplate.

Principal Trevor Finch.

- Good morning. - The man greeted them, writing something on paper.

- Good morning, Mr.Finch. - Rose replied with a slight smile.

The man raised his eyes and looked at the kids. His eyebrows raised in surprise and he smiled slightly. - I don't believe it. These are really the children of the famous Masters of Spinjitzu! It's nice to finally meet you in person.

The children smiled nervously, Jake nervously waved to the man.

- So, you guys came to get your stuff to help you survive your studies at our academy? - He asked with a smile.

- Exactly....! Survive? - Atlas asked with concern in his voice.

The principal waved his hand. - Sir Reginald's Moonshine Academy is a school for the elite, so to speak. This school was graduated by the best, starting with his students....

- Yeah, we know the story. You don't have to tell us. - Ophelia said.

- Very well. However, you can't go to school in such everyday clothes. From tomorrow, you are to wear the uniform of our academy. - he said already with seriousness. - You will get a set of uniforms from Ms. Molly, our school caretaker.

- We understand. - Flame said.

- Good. Here, you have your timetables, locker keys and a map of the academy, so you don't get lost. - He said and pulled the necessary items from a drawer in his desk.

The youngsters seized the items from the principal and looked through them.

- Thank you, sir. - Ingrid said kindly.

-  No problem. Now, go to your class and get acquainted with the students. You are joining the class third grade. Good luck.

- Thank you. Goodbye! - Ernest said and everyone walked out the door.

-----

The siblings quickly got to their new classroom and as soon as they opened the door, everyone's attention was shifted to them. The professor, who was speaking to the students, looked at them with furrowed brows.

- Welcome, latecomers. May I ask, why you were late during the announcements? - He asked in an exasperated tone.

Lily laughed nervously. - You see, sir, erm... We talked with the principal.

The man looked at them confused, before an expression of realization appeared on his face. - Ah! You are my new students.

- Yes, sir. We are. - Ernest said.

The boy sitting at the end of the classroom, who was busy talking to a.... humanoid dragon!? and with the other human girl and boy, looked at the newcomers and gasped.

- Hey, look at them! - he whispered to his friends.

- New students. What about them? - other human boy asked.

- Not only that, Lo'ak! Don't you recognize them!? - whispered to his friend and pointed at them.

- Wait.... - began the dragon. - And aren't they...?

- Children of the Masters of Spinjitzu!? - other human girl squealed excitedly.

Lo'ak looked at her confused. The girl noticed the look and giggled nervously as a blush of embarrassment appeared on her cheeks.

The boy who first caught his eye on them, had short brown hair with a single golden streak and silver colored eyes. He was dressed in the same uniform as the other students. A white shirt over which was a sweater, a black vest and a black tie.

His name is Pedro Arcturus Barnes.

The other boy was tall, with black hair tangled in braids and one tangled braid that falls over his face and amber eyes like Neteyam's.

His name is Lo'ak Sully. Neteyam's younger brother.

The human girl next to him had wavy, long black hair tied up with a simple hair elastic and mesmerizing aqua-blue eyes. Around her neck she wore a beautiful necklace made of seashells. She wore a Moonshine Academy uniform. A dark blue plaid dress and over it a navy blue jacket with a Moonshine Academy pin.

Her name is Tsireya Tsakarem.

The humanoid dragon, or more specifically, the female has black scales with some elements of blue and eyes with the same color. She is also dressed in a boy's uniform, unfortunately.

Her name is Neona Yeager.

- Nice to welcome new students. The more bright and gifted minds we have, the greater the reputation of our academy will be. - Strickler said and extended his hand to Lily.

- My name is Professor Strickler and I will be your educator for all five years. I hope that you will be very capable students, who will delight The Moonshine Academy.

Lily sent the man a kind smile and shook his hand. - We are also very pleased, Professor Strickler.

The man smiled slightly, before becoming more serious and turning toward the class. - And now! Let's get back to the topic of organizing this school year. And give a warm welcome to your new friends. They are to feel welcome in our class.

The students nodded with pleased or annoyed expressions on their faces. The siblings went to the back of the classroom and sat down in empty desks next to a curious group of students.

- Pssst!

Rose looked at Ernest confused, and he looked at her.

- Pssst! Hey, new guys!

Rose, Ernest, Atlas and Lily turned their heads to the source of the sound and shifted their gaze to Pedro.

- Are you kids of Masters of Spinjitzu? - He asked in a whisper.

- Erm... maybe? - Rose said.

- Woah... That's awesome! I've always wanted to meet you guys! I'm Pedro Barnes and I hope we become great friends.

- I... think so too, nice to meet you Pedro. - Atlas said with a nod.

- Barnes!!!

They all jumped at the voice and looked at Professor Strickler, who was looking at the boy sternly. The man took a deep breath before saying.

- I'm glad you want to meet new students, but please do it after class. Don't disturb me during the lesson, unless you want me to call your parents.

Pedro snorted and leaned back in his seat with a grimace. - Yes, sir. I'm sorry.

The class laughed slightly, before focusing their attention on the professor, who began to explain again.

- We'll see you at lunch. We can talk there. - He said quickly and focused on the teacher.

Lily showed him and his friends a thumbs up in acceptance. All four sent excited smiles to each other, looking forward to meeting new people. Tsireya and Neona already knew that they would become their best friends. Pedro and Lo'ak knew it too. In their hearts.
