SEASON 2: BEARERS OF DEATH
Lily, Rose, Ernest, Eshter, Ophelia, Atlas, Jake, Flame and Ingrid returned to the Spinjitzu Monastery with Ernest's and the Chumsworth siblings parents.
All the way home, the teenagers were silent, avoiding eye contact even with each other. It was already dark outside the window. They all entered the Monastery where the parents of the Ninjago kids were waiting.
- You're finally back! - Skylor sighed. - For the First Spinjitzu Master, what happend?! - she gasped, looking at Ernest and Ophelia.
- We're fine. - Ophelia replied with a wave of her hand.
- You guys look like... like you've been properly kicked. - Lloyd said.
- That's exactly how we feel. - Ernest replied and wiped his lip of blood.
Clay was furious with his son for taking part in a fight that he thought could have been avoided.
- Come here now. - Clay ordered to his son. Ernest exchanged a look with Rose, who only sighed. The boy took a deep breath and followed his dad. Macy followed them.
- Come on, darling. I'll bandage you up. - Zane said to Ophelia. Snake nodded and sat down in a chair where Zane pulled out a first aid kit and started patching it up. Everyone else started asking the kids what had happened.
------
- What was the one thing I asked? - Clay hissed sternly at his son when they went to (Y/N)'s old room. - The one thing?
- Stay out of trouble. - Ernest muttered, looking down.
- Stay out of trouble! Right. That's all I asked you, but no! I will not repeat it again. You are grounded!
Ernest opened his mouth to reply.
- You have disappointed me, son. You were supposed to prove to me that you are a good warrior, but I was wrong after all. You're creating fights for no reason!
- Dad... I defended the honour of Atlas! I helped Ophelia fight when it was four on one! It was Ophelia who started the fight, I wanted to end it with a conversation, but it was Ophelia who started the fight!
Clay put his hands on his hips and looked down at him. The man bit his lip slightly, thinking. - However, you were still fighting. You participated in the conflict!
- But dad...!
- Ernest. That boy you beat up and the other one are the sons of great military men and the son of probably the most influential prosecutor in Ninjago. Do you know, what could have happened? She could sue you for assaulting her son, and then who would believe us that it was their fault?
Ernest fell silent and looked down. Macy felt sorry for him and walked over to him, putting her hand on his shoulder. - Clay, your son is injured! Forgive him, he's still a child.
Clay looked at Macy with seriousness, before looking at his son and sighing resignedly. - You're treading on thin ice, son. One more act like that and I'll tie you to the castle walls.... Tomorrow you will go there with Ophelia and apologise to them.
Ernest, not wanting to argue just nodded.
- Let's get back to the others and go home. - Clay said.
------
- So... How's the other guy looks like? - Kai asked when kids had explained everything. Kai was hit on the shoulder from Harumi. - What? I'm just curious!
Flame laughed. - He looks worse than them.
- That's good. - Master of Fire said proudly.
Nya shook her head with a mocking smile. - But you guys still have that punishment, right?
- Yes. - Ingrid said with nod.
- How much of it do you have? - Jay asked.
- Two hours after all classes. For week. - Ophelia groaned.
Jay flicked his tongue and sighed. - It's a good thing we didn't go to school then, we were just teachers.
- Honestly, being a teacher was worse than being a student. - Zane replied.
- Right. It was a nightmare! - Kai said.
- Meanwhile, Lloyd with (Y/N). They flew around Ninjago on their golden dragons and received heroism awards, peace nobles, medals and partying the whole time. - Skylor said with a smirk.
Lloyd blushed slightly. - We didn't party all the time. Only occasionally.
- Sure, sure. - Nya ruffled his golden curls.
- Oh, come on!!
Everyone started laughing at the green ninja's scream.
-----
Meanwhile, at a hidden underground base. Skeletons were working on building war machines: mainly ships, cannons and some sort of catapults. The Skeleton King was walking around the large hall where they were working with some other skeleton at his side. His right hand. Garrick.
- My Lord. I wish to inform you that the skeleton of the Red Death is now complete extracted from the meteorite Zircon. - Garrick conveyed, saluting.
The Skeleton King smiled mischievously. - Perfect. Show it to me!
- Yes, my lord.
They both then walked between the stations of the working skeletons and stopped in front of the floating platform by which the skeleton was being extracted. They both stepped onto the lift and Garrick, after pressing the red button, made his way to the platform.
The Skeleton King sighed in awe as he saw the massive folded skeleton of the fallen beast with its wings spread out.
- Beautiful.... Very beautiful. This beast will gain the upper hand in the sky. - Skeleton King said as he passed between the ribs, running his fingers along the vertebrae of the skeleton's spine. - When SHE returns, this dragon will rise from the dead. And then, it will gain a powerful rider who will fly on it between the world of the dead and the world of mortals.
- It will be a great event. - Garrick said with his hands behind his back.
The Skeleton King looked at him with a twisted smile of madness. - You have no idea, Garrick. All these mortals have no idea what awaits them!! - he roared and laughed sinisterly.
- And to think it's all thanks to the little kids. - Garrick said, stretching his neck.
- The power of the descendants of the elements is quite powerful. Especially that little ginger-haired girl and that granddaughter of the Dark Lord. - SK replied to him. - The other kids, they'll just be an extra.... power, so to speak. - he giggled.
- Do you think this Troll and this human spy will be able to capture these kids? - Garrick asked.
- I don't think so. I know that. And even if they fail, you remember what the deal was with them. - said the King.
- Yes. We're knocking them out. - Garrick replied.
- Exactly. That's why you're my right hand. Out of everyone, you're the only one with a brain. - said the King contentedly, patting the soldier on the shoulder.
Garrick blinked several times. - Sir. We are skeletons. We have no brains.
The Skeleton King sighed exasperatedly and made a facepalm. - Sometimes you're very ignorant of irony. I KNOW IT!!! - he roared with a sudden outburst of rage.
King's scream caused Garrick's head to fall off and drop to the floor. The headless body of the soldier reached for the head and placed it back in place.
Then there were loud roars and screams from the workers. They both turned their attention to what was happening on the ground and saw skeleton horses carrying some cages on carts with something littering them.
The skeleton workers brought in six of these carts and, using a crane, removed the contents of the cart onto the stone floor.
- It looks like the third phase of the plan has been executed. - said the Skeleton King and he and Garrick took the lift down.
They approached the mysterious cages with unknown contents. SK looked angrily at the workers. - What are you waiting for!? Take down the curtains!! I want to see them.
The workers unhitched the horses from the carts and took them away from the unloading area. The three workers removed the securing large nails and lifted the large wooden curtains with a mechanism.
The Skeleton King smiled sinisterly, as he saw the contents of the cages. In the iron bars, were trapped great dragons, resembling scorpions. They had great venomous fangs on their tails, and great fangs in their mouths, resembling spider fangs from which a purple substance oozed.
The dragon the Skeleton King was looking at was different from the others. It was larger and had more fiery coloured scales on its back. It was their leader. Titan Wing Deathgripper.
- You managed to catch them. - The Skeleton King said. - Where did you find them?
- In the East. Over the border, on lonely islands. They have habitats there. - one of the skeleton workers replied. - Unfortunately we had too small a fleet to collect more.
- Never mind. The most important thing is that we have the Titan. With Titan's help, catching the others will be a piece of cake. - SK replied.
The dragon hissed and roared wildly at him and slammed its tail hard against the metal bars of the cage in which it was imprisoned. The Skeleton King laughed.
- Feisty. I like it. Get them out of their cages and harvest their venom. They need to be dulled with their own venom to make this lizards obey.
- Yes, sir. Bring a venom collection kit, not too small not too big, and move these reptiles to their enclosure!! - one of the workers shouted to the others.
- So far, the plan is going perfectly. - the Skeleton King said to himself. - The Basilisk will not complain in the end.
- My Lord. Actually, why are we collecting these dragons? - Garrick asked confused, as he and his master watched as the workers struggled with the chains to move the fighting dragons into their larger cages.
The Skeleton King laughed. - Oh, Garrick. You are strong, but you have no vision. Don't you understand? These dragons have venom, which with one bite can knock a dragon down very deadly. Above that, if you strike this dragon. - He said, pointing to the fighting dragons. - With its own venom, it can dull it. It will give me control over them.
Garrick hummed with understanding.
- So, if we have murderous dragons on our side, which can kill other dragons and which literally feed on other dragons. Even this dragon legend they will be able to defeat.
- Brilliant.
- Indeed. Basilisk has thought it all through. This war, that is about to come will be the biggest war in the history of humanity. Because we not only have support on land and water, but also in the air. Those mortals above, they don't stand a chance against us. They don't even know what is happening under their own noses!!
- I am looking forward to this war. I will finally be able to bludgeon these pathetic mortals. - Garrick said hungrily.
The Skeleton King smiled ominously. - I'm looking forward to it too. How it's been a long time since I've heard screams, cries and lamentations.... Those were beautiful times.
Garrick gritted his teeth and stomped his foot on the floor, unable to wait for the arrival of the Empress. The Skeleton King, seeing this, giggled darkly.
- Don't worry, my friend. When the war begins, you will satisfy your hunger to kill. - The king patted his soldier on the shoulder. - You will be the first to throw yourself into battle.
- I am ready for it, my lord. My mace has long been prepared to smash skulls.- he assured.
- I believe it is...
