CHAPTER 30

(Val POV)

Mal then splashes Ben, who splashes her back. All of us girls shorten our dresses before going to stand beside our dates. I stand beside Jay and smile while he wraps an arm around my waist.

"Looking back at yesterday

I thought I gave it everything

But still, there's so much road ahead of me" Ben sings.

"When I looked into your eyes" Mal sings. I look into Jay's eyes and we both smile.

"I guess I didn't recognize

Who we are and all that we can be" Mal continues to sing.

"Sometimes it's hard to find yourself

But it's worth it in the end

'Cause in your heart is where it all begins" Mal and Ben sing as all of the girls line up and all of the guys line up before we bow to them.

Everybody's got something they can bring" Evie and Carlos sing as they look out at the Isle. Mal, Jay and I walk over to join them.

But who you are, is who you need to be" Mal, Jay and I sing. Mal leans her head on Evie and I lean my head on Jay.

'Cause in your heart is where it all begins" Mal, Evie, I sing as we join the dancing again. Mal, Ben, Jane, Carlos, Evie, Doug, me, and Jay all hold hands to form a circle. We all stomp in the water.

Yeah" Mal and I sing as we stand on the bottom step and hold hands along with Evie. Ben and Jay come up behind us. I turn and hug Jay.

"I promise we can work this out

Whoa-oh-oh" We all sing as we splash around. Mal and Ben dance before Carlos and Jane dance. Jay and I then flip into the middle and splash each other. Jay kneels while I do a flip with his shoulders. We then lock arms before leaving the middle.

We can be bold" We all sing as Evie and Doug go to the middle.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah" Mal sings as Ben picks her up and spins her.

It starts with you and me" Everyone dances as Ben puts his ring back on Mal's finger. We all do a twirl before bowing to them. I find Jay and we splash each other before we start dancing together. Evie, Lonnie, Jane and I all lock arms and splash through the water together. Lonnie, Carlos, Jane, Evie, Doug, Jay, and I all come together for a group hug. Little did we know Uma didn't go back to the Isle. Jay then pulls me over to the side.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" Jay asks me.

"Yes!" I answer before Jay kisses me. As we break apart and I look up at Mal who is smiling down at me. We both smirk and our eyes flash green.

"What? You didn't think this was the end of the story, did you?"
